The hotel is extremely convenient and is situated one road back from the port so it's quick and easy to find. The manager was extremely friendly and as I arrived early, at about 10h30 he was happy to give me access to my room. To be fair, I suspect that I was also the only guest at the hotel as not once did I see anybody else!
I stayed in room 104 whihc overlooks the town square with a few restaurants immediately down below and the noise from the restaurantsd; the motor bikes and the packing up of the restaurants etc was extremely loud and therefore I think I managed a few hours sleep before the start of the opening of the restaurants at around 8 on the sunday morning. Also the bathroom is extremely small and the shower really consisted of a hand held shower head, and as there is no curtain or any sliding door, once you shower and especially while washing oyur hair, you tend to get everygthing else wet too. It was okay for one night but for anything longer, I would recommend paying a bit more and perhaps getting into a hotel with a proper bathroom.
The location was convenient as it was close to the beach and to the port so no taxi was needed. The hotel is in the centre which is always good for someone who doesn't know the island.
The value for money was poor. It was too expensive for what it offers. Also it was very noisy as it was located at the central square of the area. The large number of rooms, and hence visitors, increased the noise inside the hotel as well. The bathroom was poorly illuminated and the ammenities were minimum. The breakfast was set (very simple, no buffet). The manager of the hotel did not accept cards and he forced us to pay cash without giving a receipt. Faros hotel is really a two star hotel although it was advertised as a higher rank hotel.
The central location and the low price (which was a discount package) were the main advantages of the hotel.
The bathrooms should be renewed and the common areas should be renewed. The staff could be increased.
Location very close to harbor and in the town.
Decoration, breakfast was poor, and the staff wa not very helpfull due to ignorance.
