Its location near the Hauptbahnhof and its relative proximity to the city centre. There should be clearer signposting to help one locate the hotel from the street.
Small unit, nicely decorated, tasty breakfast Entrance is squeezed between two shops!
I liked thee much the central location downtown Marburg, everything is in walking distance, close to the train station Only one water glass in the double romm.
Nice and helpful staff. Good location.
Very close to most attractions. The breakfast was very good.
The wireless internet available for free the room was smelly terrible of smoke, no reception at desk, it was a "self-service" hotel. In the bathroom no soap, I asked for that they said they will put but the didn't. no good value for money for what they offer.
The breakfast was good The room aong the street is noisy at night.
breakfast, nice clean rooms and friendly service the room was too noisy (traffic)
Helpful staff, good breakfast, Internet access When I arrived there appeared to be no room available for me, though an upgraded one was ultimately offered. One light bulb was inoperative (it was replaced, however) and another I had to screw in myself. The rolling shutter on the left could not be lowered.
Friendly staff, good service and rooms, good breakfast and quite low prices. Central location and free Internet connection.
Parking was easy and reasonably safe. The walk to the Gasthoff for dinner was pleasant and enjoyable. We arrived on a Monday after a long hot drive from Zatec in the Czech Republic in a Morgan Sports Car. The hotel was not open and we rang the bell and soon a lady came to the hotel to open it up and show us our room. We were then advised the hotel restaurant was closed on a Monday and she directed us to a Gasthoff about 15 minutes walk away. In our booking we were not advised the closure of the hotel on a Monday, otherwise we would not have chosen it. Our room had very sloped ceilings with the bed put between the slopes and a window, which you could only open by standing on the bed. I did hit my head on the ceiling and I am only just under 5 feet tall!!!!
Friendly staff and excellent breakfast
friendly staff who did their best to understand our bad german!
We liked the cosy design of the room and the hotel and general, the situation in Alsfeld and the breakfast very complete! The staff of the hotel didn't speak English.
The food was the best we have encountered in Germany I had room 42 I think it was outside and there should be a light there to allow easy access to the key/lock.
The breakfast buffet was fantastic. The room was fairly ordinary, it didn't have the character of the main building. Ask for a room in the main building. Also, the beds were extremely soft.
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff
Good location and breakfast was nice. Dinner was also good value. The lighting in the bathroom was sub standard.
We liked the spaciousness of the room. It was a good size for the 4 of us. They offered a good breakfast the next morning. Very nice interior of the main building. Lots of dark timber on the ceilings. Very nice dining room. Room was quiet and the beds were soft. We seemed to get bit by something in the night. I woke up several times to brush off the offending biters - but never saw any bugs. But my husband had some red bites on his legs later the next day . The kids loved it. We were disappointed that we were taken 2 doors up the street to an addition to the old hotel -- we had looked forward to staying in an "old" hotel. We got the new modern addition -- which was fine but we would have liked to know ahead of time. Also the dining room was closed for dinner -- we got there late enough that we had to go find one of the only 2 restaurants still open for the season and we were tired enough we'd rather have not had to do that.
The room is big, and the breakfast is delicious. The wifi there doesn't work will, hard to get in any page that have to sign in.
The receptionist is helpful. She taught me how to walk from the hotel to the old town and the train station.
Easy to find, small and comfortable, easy to park, quiet, large room, good beds, breakfast included
Peaceful quiet area plus accommodation was clean and comfortable, especially after such a long drive we had that day
Service and resturant was very good, however beds we not comfortable The Beds
Very comfortable place to stay if you're visiting Marburg, quit place and spacious rooms - good value for money.
Nice traditional decoration, good breakfast, friendly staff, clean rooms and a comfortable stay. Staff forgot to put pillow cases on the pillows, but quickly fixed the oversight.
Excellent place to stay, with lots of nice added touches; great food, excellent room, good value for money.
the rooms the staff are very polite very clean
It was clean, quiet and green I wish there was tea/coffee making facilities as well as the minibar.
Breakfast excellent plus staff, rooms nice cleaning staff also excellent One member of staff on reception arrogant we asked for coffee extra pillows, asked for a beer said bar was closing all was too much trouble this one person spoilt our stay we will not return, we will find alternative hotel.
a first class breakfast
Great selection on breakfast buffet. Good location close to Marburg. Free minibar. Friendliness of staff varied from very good to poor. Smoking permitted in the restaurant.
the breakfast had an excellent selection
We had a nice, large comfortable room with minibar. There was an extensive breakfast buffet included and evening meals were tasty. The staff were extremely helpful in giving us directions and suggestions for sightseeing. We liked being in a small village rather than in the city.
No restaurant or receptionist on German Public holidays or Sundays
Pleasant as always
Good location, rooms good size and excellent facilities.
Hotel is well positioned at the foot of the old town, with good facilities and very good service. Rooms are spacious and clean. No complaints!
Excellent location - across the street from the lift into the Altstadt. Very comfortable room, secure parking, helpful staff. Generous breakfast.
The Shower cabin is to small - tall and big people will have problems when taking a shower.
Breakfast is impressive, the rooms are large, wireless internet is free and very fast.
Clean, comfortable, good locatioon. On arrival we were told that one of the guests had no room even though we told them we would arrive late. Sorted to our satisfaction by the manager but not a pleasant way to be greeted
Excellent location, above average room, wonderful breakfast, very good value for money.
visited St Elizabeth's of course.. also walking tour of Lahn and the castle exercise facility didnt have weights and it was located in the basement. The location is the best thing about the hotel.. if not for the great location I probably would not stay there again - and I would not recommend it.
Helpful staff No
Location, very good breakfast and excellent facilities Rooms on the street side are rather noisy
Nice size rooms and very quiet
The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast excellent. The hotel is In a lovely setting in a quiet location.
The cleaniness of the room and quiet of the location NA
Centre of scenic small village, good parking, good food in the resturant, friendly staff, clean room. Windows in the room did not seal out the traffic noise outside
An old hotel with tradition located in a lovely, historical town. Good food.
free wifi, free parking
This is family run and the owners are very helpful to their guests. The rooms and the restaurant are newly decorated and very comfortable. The hotel is centrally located for good shopping and within easy walking distance of all the historic buildings of Kirchhain.
Staff was helpful, breakfast was fantastic, room was clean.
Clean well appointed room which appeared to have been recently renovated.Staff polite and efficient. Breakfast excellent but not in hotel for other meals. Hotel information on booking incorrect, resturant is closed on Sunday night not Monday
Good location between station and old town which is a very pleasant stroll away and just across the road from the Elizabeth Church. Lovely lobby with free tea/coffee and room was nice and spacious. Parking which is just beside the hotel in an underground car park was like nothing we'd seen before - very tight spaces divided by metal which wasnt padded in any way. We found it very difficult to park and we had a relatively small hire car. But on the other hand the car park is right on-site
comfort,a clean room, all facilities, an ideal location nothing
The Marburger Hof was in an ideal location for our stay in Marburg. The room was spacious and comfortable with a luxurious and well equipped bathroom. It would have been nice to have a supply of fresh milk for our tea tray, and also to have access to some english language television channels.
Excellent friendly welcome. Room quality was high and better than expected. (I stayed in a junior suite.) Long distance from reception to the room via a second floor bridge
Looked after my son, who is studying in Marburg University, and has been unwell. We managed to explore the town and surrounding area. As I have mentioned above, the lack of 2 beds in a twin bedded room was most inconvenient, when travelling with a companion and not a spouse, sharing a room is acceptable, in order to keep costs down, sharing a bed however, is not! I would be reluctant to book this hotel again for this reason
Breakfast was just great! Minor things.
staff was most friendly and helpful.
The staff were lovely and its location is fantastic. It's seen better days.
All areas in the hotel were at a good warm temperature (in January). Garage parking. About 500m from the old town centre. Nice breakfast. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Nice cocktails. Warmed welcome. Good internet connection Just a few english communication
Very comfortable hotel in quiet surroundings Somewhat impersonal compared to other hotels. Our booking was incorrect at the hotel and we were kept waiting for sometime before it was sorted out.
Excellent accommodations and atmosphere. Good value for the money.
Excelent stop if you are in the area. Very friendly staff. Rooms were clean and very confortable.
Easy walking from town/station. Near countryside. Friendly, helpful staff. (Was very accomodating when I said we preferred a twin room rather than two singles - moveds to a larger, nicer room - I think it was a family room). Vfm for the area. Not really hotel, more the place... (Not a good day for weather so didn't enjoy the countryside). Town seemed a bit boring, not much there.
Space and cleanliness. Excellent value for money. Lack of blockout curtains.
The owner was at least friendly, he did not charge anything extra for the child. If it was not for him, we would have left the same evening. Staff at the bar was not very helpful at all, nobody seemed to know that we had a reservation.... they also did not seem to care that we had requested a non smoking room. In the morning there was no heat at all ...temperature outside was 9'C. After phoning them, they wanted to take care of it...after one hour still nothing happened. Our child could not sleep on Mattress, wires were sticking out.
The gourmet chef was also the owner, met us and showed us to our rooms. Good English so we could learn about the area and his wonderful dinner.
the room is clear and comfortable.
The room and bed were really very comfortable.
