Although not easy to find, and when you get there there is no real reception area, (it's in the cafe/bar) it was quiet and clean. The buffet is very modest but sufficient. The woman spoke english and was very friendly. I loved that it had free WiFi although it did come in and out. The location is actually quite good. 15 minute (or more if crowded) walk from train station but a few turns and a lot of cobblestone. Close to excellent restaurants. Although a very modest hotel with virtually no ammenities (soap, blowdryer, clock, etc.) it was clean and well priced. But the reason I did not stay more than one night is the pillows are intolerable. They are huge and fiberform instead of feather so they are not good at all for sleeping. If this place had nice pillows, it would have been fine.
authentic old style bavarian, good food, polite staff. loud, very loud. they had a concert the first (and only night) we stayed. hours were spent setting up the stage, clang clang clang, and then afterwards, clang clang clang.
The hotel is a little far away from the train station. You have to walk across the city, but in the end is nice because you can have an impression of the city. The breakfast is good. There is not elevator. It's an old building.
The staffs are very nice to us and very helpful. The room are very clean.
staff excellent!breakfast good and filling.rooms very clean and comfortable.
Enjoyed being in the historic district and the English speaking guest mistress was delightful and very helpful. No elevator. I was up 3 flights and had a very heavy suitcase.
The location was close to the shops and the pedestrianised area. I stayed at this hotel for only one night but I would not have stayed any longer. Firstly i found it difficult to find as there were several establishments Flotzinger Brau in nearby streets. I found the room very basic indeed with no comfort factor. I had to leave before breakfast so, i can't comment on that
Everything was excellent; very nice hotel and place
Good quality neat hotel in a quiet location. Friendly helpful staff. Good spread for breakfast.
Great service, we were later arriving due to traffic and a member of staff stayed up and greeted us at about 23.55! The rooms are clean and tidy, with modern feel. Great breakfast lots to choose from.
There was going some working one floor downstairs so there was a lot of noise. Also the chuch clock was ringing all nights so we were very tired when we get home!
Nice village, there was a good place voor simple, but OK and cheap food and a beer, wonderful views, not super modern, but good value for money. Downstairs, there was a bit of a smell (food) in the hallway. But no problem in the rooms.
The hotel building we stayed at is new, alhtough its style matches the character of the village. Rooms were spacious and modrenly decorated with solid wood furniture of modern charater and a good taste. A bathroom had a widow coming out to the room. The room also had a balcony large enough to sit out. The family running the hotel and restaurant was very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast
Rooms very modern, spacious and clean No reception staff, another guest informed us we had to go over the road to the restaurant where we were just given a room key. Given forms to complete at breakfast the following morning. Should at least have a sign informing guests - this is not a nice welcome!
Clean, nice room with very comfortable bed. Breakfast served to room. Friendly stuff.
The area. Non responsive to customer repeated E-mail request to confirm.
Everything was wonderful. We stayed only one night on the way back home from Italy, but we wanted to stay longer to enjoy the lovely hotel and the very beautiful small village. We'd certainly come back there in the near future.
Very nice and clean!Smile people!
professional hotel staff and service, well-located hotel
great food, friendly sevice, quiet location yet near motorway nothing was wrong with hotel but they could give bettter directions on how to get to it, not the easiest place to find with the maps given
Access to sights I wanted to see.
Very friendly staff. Excellent room - big and spacious. Excellent bathroom. Very good bayern breakfast. Quiet location near autobahn. none
The hospitality of Manager and Manageress
We had a car and the place was perfect. In countryside but at the same time close to the motorway. Nice building and really typical. A bit farmy but normal, couse is family owned. None.
Service, food, atmosphere no
Quiet location, only 10-15mins away from Prien / Stock for Chiemsee lake by car. Nice room, good breakfast - standard Bavarian fare of cold meats and cheeses, cereals etc. Requested and had confirmed a double room but hotel changed this to 2 x single.Service in dining restaurant poor.
The toilet was totally dirty: Hair, dust everywhere...even an empty water bottle! Very poor breakfast. We arrived at 03:00 o'clock in the morning. Even though I have written an email saying so, I called to see that everything will be ok with this. We agreed that they would leave the key to a certain place for us. When we arrived, after a 6-hour-trip the key wasn't there. We called the phone number. Luckily someone was there! But he had to wake up, check first his p/c, having us waiting in the rain at 3:00 o'clock in the morning to make sure we weren't lying to him! He could just let us in and give us the key! Bad service, small room and very dirty at a high price!
Very clean and new rooms. (We only stay one night, because we were going for Austria. Difficult to find, the map was too little. We need breakfast earlier, because we need to go as early as possible.
The hotel staffs were really friendly and helpful. The hotel is not at all 'value for money'.
good feeling that living in the community No wardrobe, very basic, no tea & coffee - used to a little bit more comfort. But staff where nice and very German so felt we had a feel of the culture
quality of food/drink available in the bar
the hotel was within walking distance of railway station & main town centre ideal for short day or two break the bathroom was very small
Breakfast was good, rooms were clean Room very cold, bathroom very small, tile floors in room (?!?)
Nice beer garden. Lovely old hotel.Food great. On a corner lots of noisy motorcycles going by.
The room was very large and had a curtained off area for the children to sleep. The hotel was very nice and very conveniently located. I would highly recommend it to others. We wished we were staying longer.
Excellent value for money. Everything was great.
Ease of parking within the hotel grounds. The friendliness and helpfulness of staff; and the home made food from the Hotel's own farm produce made this a very pleasant stay.
I liked that it was the cheapest near Munich. But that's about it. No wifi. You need to receive a text msg with a passcode to sign into the wifi. The problem is that I had an I pad with no phone# so it pretty much didn't work.
Close to Autobahn but away from noise. Decent rooms and food at a budget price. Room was much smaller than implied in the website (we got the smallest double room). The room had an odour of smoke.
Staff very friendly. The TV did not work in the rooms and the staff did not inform us of this when booking in.
We phoned ahead, but were quite late due to traffic.. This was not a problem for the hotel, and we were still able to enjoy a full dinner and a couple of drinks before going to bed. The room was massive, with a view, and despite being close to the autobahn (less than five minutes) was very quiet. We didn't have our dog with us but they appear to have some rooms that cater for them.
very quite, nice staff and service, clean and good value for money
Hotel zur Post has a very good location, I could walking and visited beatiful region. There is a hotel's restaurant with delicious meals.
The rooms were large and very well appointed. The choice of food was excellent
Meals, especially breakfast. Best 3 star hotel we have ever stayed in. Very comfortable, quiet, clean, and a great view when snowfell the next morning. Great staff rapport. We were extremely impressed with the over all standard of service. No comments
Calm and situation on my travel leg. Germany must be the only country left where a single is a small one person bed with face in wall...
The atmosphere and the staff
Thank you so much ingrid & richard! The most Welcoming, charming, courteous and friendly hotel we stayed at in Bavaria. Our room was beautiful, clean and so comfortable, and the food was truly fantastic! Also, a great place to stay for day-tripping to Salzburg or Munich. Easy train connections. Schenchen is only an 8-minute train ride from Rosenheim, and from there train connections to Austria or other cities in Germany is very easy. We encourage everyone to stay at this hotel - you will be greeted with great warmth and treated so kindly!! We will return to Landgast-Hotel - it is Superior! For those on the road for two to three weeks - there is a coin operated laundry in Rosenheim - only open Mon. to Fri. stay here!
the hospitability of the staff, the unique atmosphere, the comfort of the rooms no
The staff is very welcoming...Ms. Ingrid is lovely !
nice stuff and resturant hard to find
I was there only one night and this hotel has improved my expectations.
Everything was OK. No complaints.
Location: easy to find, close to the highway No restaurant, no place for dinner after a long traveling day. Misleading and unfair information in the reception, that the nearest restaurant is only in the center of Rosenheim, 20 min. walk from Alpina: I found the perfect restaurant across the street, in the neighbouring hotel, 100 m from Alpina.
The hotel had flair, it was also very cozy. We enjoyed the balancy view. The traffic was not pleasant and the room smelled somewhat of smoke.
I appreciate the location of the hotel and the hotel staff too soft bed
It is a nice, clean, comfortable hotel with a helpful staff.
Easy to find by car, comfortable bed
very good, escellent breakfast
The staff was very nice The bathroom was very small
comfortable room with good facilities, helpful staff and excellent breakfast room
only the breakfast, no good service I never will go there again
We could walk to the nicer section of town. cubby hole rooms- No accessories like pictures to make it pleasant.
This is not a four star hotel.
convenient location in the heart of town no internet connection
room and restaurant to big!
The location only rooms are very small and very hot
it was too short the rooms had no bath,
The Hotel is conveniently located and an excellent hotel for the business traveller.
breakfast room We were not given a room on the quiet side of the hotel with mountain views as requested (as we had been given on a previous visit at New Year). We pointed this out to the management and asked to move. This was refused, saying it was not possible, yet it was obvious that the hotel was far from full during our stay. Considering that we were returning guests, we booked three months ago, we stayed for five nights not just one, and that we recommended the hotel to other friends whom we took with us on this occsion, we felt that this was poor service. All their literature says that they aim to please etc etc but it was just not true. In every other aspect, we find this an excellent hotel and ideally situated for visiting our relatives nearby - the accommodation is good and the breakfast room is excellent. However, we shall think twice before returning.
Room was bright and well appointed. Breakfast/dining room was lovely with view of Park. Service was excellent. Will stay here again.
it was centrally located in Rosenheim, the breakfast was nice the beds were very uncomfortable, extrememly hard. It was very loud at night. We stayed 4 nights. We did not sleep well there.
Restaurant is not open in the winner but just 200m away you have a good selection. In room facilities it states a DVD & CD Player but my room did not have one and as you only get CNN in English on the TV this would have been nice.
Extrenmely friendly and attentive staff No free WiFi
The owner's and personel's wish to make one happy without any obviously shown effort; you have the feeling of staying in their house and they like having content guests.
The staff spoke enough English that we could talk & order food at their great resturant. They always asked how our day was, what we saw, made recommondations for other sites as well. Never asked for a credit card, or deposit, or address either. Very good location for day trips around Germany. Very old quaint hotel.
The hotel staff were not offended by our inability to speak German and they did not speak English. They were able to help us find an ATM. The staff was always very courteous The hotel has lots of character befitting the Bavarian location. The hotel fronts on a busy street. Luckily we were at the back of the hotel and heard only the construction going on next door.
Absolutely NOTHING!!!! This “hotel” doesn’t’ have a telephone, hard to find anyone who speaks English. Receptionist was extremely unfriendly and I thought we are a bother to her because we didn’t speak German. Breakfast was suppose to be included but the older gentleman
The staff was nice, he gave me a better room because the bed suitet me better (1.95 m). I didnt meet anyone that could understand/speak english, a bit strange for such a large hotel with that many rooms. If you need internet pay at local phonebox inside hotel not the one out on the street in front of the hotel.
Very friendly and professional service. Very nice Bavarian atmosphere, very good restaurant with local food. Very near Rosenheim centre with country side feeling.
Bavarian style of decor / furnishings / helpful staff
very reliable staff and easy to find with the GPS
Breakfast was good, bed was good, rooms clean. I didn't see the staff at all, only on the breakfast. Service could be better
Enough parking-space. Spacious room, with fine/warm furniture; little balcony; big T.V.; spacious bathroom. Dinner: good prices. Only critics on details: shower gives some trouble with water on floor; restaurant lacks intimacy; hotel is a bit outside the city: not much to see/do in the immediate proximity. But a very good place to stay one night on your way to further south (as I did).
We enjoyed the pastoral setting and being in the heart of a small charming village, especially after a long overseas flight to Munich. The excellent cuisine with local specialties was the real highlight, as well as the friendly, family-run atmosphere. Our bathroom was a bit small, however we were happy to have a four-person room for our family. The double rooms are probably larger.
Nice room. cheap for 6 people (2 small kids) Bad service due to closing day on Monday
Very hospitable, clean, large rooms, beautiful environment. Cheap and delicious food, tender meat.
Friendly staff, It was nice to stay with our dogs, excellent food for a rather low price ,
Staff very kind, gorgeous food and relaxing location. In the future I will book again for sure!
the location, the choice of menu, car parking facility and the friendly staff were all very good
I liked the decoration of the place. The staff barely speaks English.
The food was excellent. The room was very large and comfortable. No air-con.
I loved looking at the mountains off of my balcony and breathing the fresh farm air. It is in a tiny quaint town centered around the church and the hotel/restaurant. It would be perfect for bikers.
good, friendly service, beautiful environment and good destination. The price is also good value for money
The serenity and the beautiful surroundings.
Atmosphere, friendlyness and service provided by the entire staff.
We arrived directly from Montreal Canada and thus for us it was 2am when we arrived - since it was 8 am at the hotel our room was not ready but they allowed us to sleep in the massage area and also provided us with breakfust buffet- free of charge - this was fantastic since it permitted us to rest and at at 1pm our room was ready - we left our bagage and then went to visit so we had no jet lag!! The review on your site does not reflect the excellent quality of the staff and the excellent hospitality
The pool was not in use. However this was not mentioned on the site.
Excellent service and attention to clients
The room was very cheap, but it is not a luxury hotel. The bathroom is a plasic preinstalled one
The Hotel had Wireless in all the rooms. The restaurant is not open on Wednesday night but not stated on the site when you book.
Localisation and Italian cook
Triple room was actually double with additional camp bed!
Spacious and bright room, good buffet breakfast, great views of the Neubeuern castle and the Alps of Bavaria.
The hotel, room and peope were amazing. I will for sure come back again.
Excellent hotel, excellent worth of money, good location for going hiking.
Very friendly staff that welcomed us and ensured our stay was pleasant (Thank you very much Karen!!). The facilities are located close to the owner's house and farm. There is a farm like atmosphere of course which we liked it. The breakfast was substantial with a fair enough selection. The farm is located close to the Bavarian attractions: Chiemsee, Bertesgaden, Konig See, Eagle Nest, etc and Austrian attractions: Salzburg, Rattenberg, etc.. There is good grocery store 2 km far away from the farm (it closes at 6.00 pm). The farm is located close to the highway and Austrian border.
The hotel was family run and offered very good service. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is on the countryside and is an excellent place to enjoy the nature.
Nice natural setting - beautifull Bavarian Alpes - informal breakfast/ cooking facilities - kind "lady(s) of the house"
wonderful countryside location with superb view from the flat. Very nice rooms and kitchen equipment. Billiard and table-football is a plus with children! nothing
The very friendly welcome by our host, like we were part of the family.
It is a very unusual and unique design for a European hotel. The staff were excellent and very gracious. The restaurant was very clean and very cultural to the monastery theme. Staff were attentive, enjoyable and very eager to please the guests. Absolutely nothing negative to say about the hotel. I would highly recommend it.
The quirky style of the place, and the restaurant for its good food and excellent staff. Wardrobe too short to hang skirts/dresses or coats. Limited space to unpack - this would not be a problem for a shorter trip, but this was part of a longer trip for us. We had a small double room - no doubt reflected in the price. It was clean and functional, but no room for armchairs, for example. Bathroom also extremely cramped, no shelving, and shower unit leaked over floor.
The room and the staff the surroundings
The staff was very polite. the Hotel is not comfortable at all bedwise and bathroomwise.
Very nice design througout all details.
Extremely friendly staff, comfy rooms, and great restuarant Location was in the middle of a residentual area and by a gas station about a 5 minute taxi ride from the city center. There was free parking but it was behind someone's house. Internet wasn't free and had to go upstairs in the conference room to get a signal. Stay at this hotel if you want a nice place to sleep and eat at a great restuarant.
Really nice hotel, after a long trip you could really relax.
Unique building, the most special hotel I've ever stayed at. Very cosy and beautiful room. Excellent breakfast buffet. Squeaky bed.
Unusual decor. Hotel resembles a monastry. Loved all the candals lit around the hotel in the evening. Very interesting to stay in. Friendly staff. Nice selection at breakfast. Bathroom a little on the small side but again, an interesting concept. Tea and coffee making facilities in room would have been nice. Car parking difficult at night time as visiting restaurant guests took all the car spaces.
The hotel was unique and the restaurant was good.
Owner very friendly even if not very fluent in English of French, lovely family room, fully equiped with kitchen, beautiful village (on our way to Swarovski Krystalwelt - at 50' by car) Fixed day/time to enjoy sauna installations (Fri-Sun), very limited access to internet connection
Friendly staff, parking for car
It's a small and cozy hotel, very good for families. The hotel overcame my expectations. The room was very spacious and clean, it had a kitchen. The hotel staff speaks poor English but is very friendly and helpful in general.
The hotel is located in a very old village that is quite charming. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very nice in the upstairs room with beautiful mountain views. It would be helpful for visitors to know that not all rooms are accesible from elevator.
The welcome was perfect. We had a problem on the road and they did all they could to help us ! The location in the mountains, and the big lake near the hotel added an attractive point.
I had a bad experience staying in this hotel. Nobody there when we arrived, but a letter placed on the door welcoming us in German, which I didnt understand. ... to mention just the beginning. In the end we left after 2 days ,not 5 as we had hoped.
The area was beautiful and the owners were marvelous to work with. The views were spectacular
Klaus was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel had an immense amount of character throughout as well as views of the valley. The room size for four adults was also very sufficient.
Breakfast Old fashioned bathroom
A perfect location ! Very nice hotel ! By chance we choose this hotel and it was a fantastic surprise !
Beautiful location , excellent end efficient hotel, room comfortable. Breakfast poor.
Hotel was unique and different in a positive way. Braekfast was good as well as landscape overall. Staff was friendly and very helpfull. The parking place was not near the hotel so you had to carry all your goods from your car.
Good atmosphere, beautiful historic environment. Friendly place.
The warm welcome, the complete equiped, cosy en clean rooms, and the overwhelming breakfast.
The wonderful owner who was an attentive and kindly host Nothing
The food and hotel were excellent Room could have been alittle warmer
Easy to find hotel with private parking area. Wireless internet in the rooms. Good restaurant and breakfast buffet Paying the bill took longer than expected due to separate bills for hotel and for restaurant.
Very friendly staff and comfortable room in a quiet location.
A nice hotel in a beautifull place in south Germany.
All of it. Very freindly staff nothing
Beautiful Bavarian style hotel that is family owned and staffed in a charming German village. Chef style food in restaurant. It was excellent! Nothing. Can't wait to go back!
Clean and functional. Not a luxury hotel but all the basic amenities are present. Quite area. Welcoming staff. There could not be a baby cot in the room despite our request.
Allthough I only visited during one (short) night, I enjoyed the warm welcome, friendly people and calming atmosphere after a long day!
Good food, comfortable beds and enjoyable sauna/showers.
