Very good Hotel. 3 to 4 class service, lot of parking place, comfortable room, free welcome drinks, good restaurant, "gemutliche" atmosphere. Romantic touch. Breakfast included and that all for only 75 euro's for a double room. The town is little but with a very nice old centre.
A good breakfast buffet. 45 minutes to wait for a sallad is too long, I think.
This hotel is an older facility, but it was exceptionally clean. Our dinner in the dining room and the breakfast buffet were both excellent.
We liked the atmosphere which is why we returned there for another night. Friendly staff. Lovely hotel rained all the time we there so didn't get chance to explore the area.
Very large family room, excellent service
Our 3-person room was big, the beds were firm and quite comfortable, the buffet-breakfast was tasty and freshly made.
Very large room; very friendly staff. Wide selection of dishes available in restaurant and breakfast was also very good. Ample (relatively private) parking also available. The hotel's location (just a few minutes from Autobahn A7/A1) is excellent as an overnight stop on a long journey through Germany. Room could have been cleaner.
It is the only hotel in walking distance to my family's home. Beds were O.K. (two singles). Europe lacks the convenience of Queen and King size beds. Breakfast was fine and had a good choice of cold cuts and cheese, also smoked salmon and a variety of good breads/rolls. - The hotel is right by the 'autobahn', and it's a breeze to go to Hamburg by car, though Maschen has also train connections to anywhere one wants to go. While the stairways and corridors obviously had undergone some renovation (floor covering, wall covering and paint), this was not the case with the room which had an old carpet, outdated furniture and lacked comfort and coziness. The room was very quiet though and had a small tv. - Having been there during the Worldcup 2010, I would have expected a large hdtv in the restaurant/bar/pub, but there wasn't any!
Nice, quiet, relaxing aftera long day on the busy roads. I had problems with the hotspot internet, bad or no connection.
Travelling through Europe it is a very convenient stop in the vicinity of Hamburg. I would prefer the essentials - such as hand soap etc provided by the hotell.
good breakfast, nice free WiFi, free parking
Excellent hotel, despite it's lowly star rating. Loads of character and located at the centre of a small town with plenty of places to eat and drink. The hotel restaurant however, was everything you'd need in terms of choice and quality. Breakfast starts with a soft boiled egg, how unusual is that in Europe? Ideally placed for visiting Hamburg and there's golf just 3kms away.
The ease to find the hotell from autobahn.
close location near highway A1. people working in the hotel are very kind. Hittfeld is pleasant village to walk around and has a reasonable choice of restaurants. breakfast buffet was ok. it was sunny and humid day; rooms under the roof were a bit warm, opening a window during evening gives traffic noise (for one of teh 2 rooms)
verynice and helpfull hotel staff.good location would be nice if it was a no smoking hotel
Excellent breakfast although we did stuggle to identify all the things on the evening menu (we must learn better German!) Our room had a faint smell of smoke
Oldy-worldy bar and dining area, all oak and traditional lighting. Good selection of drinks. Excellent selection at breakfast bar, incl. fresh fruit. (Did not eat in restaurant as we were in Hittfeld for a funeral. Menu looked good, local German food. Single rooms good size, modern comfortable furniture and bed, excellent power shower and extremely good lighting (bright at table, good reading light at bed side table. All very clean and neaatly planned. Location on main road in village. Dorffest (village fete with funfair and all) at weekend we were there, plus flee market (6 a.m. start) made for a noisy nights. In-house casino noise level in rooms facing rear can be high. Staff/owner (?) unwilling to keep front door open for guest arriving after 10 p.m. due to 2 hour flight delay. Back door was blocked by crash gates put up against Dorfest-revellers) But pleading helped to keep lights on and door unlocked so taxi from Hamburg could find and deliver guest. Would only recommend hotel, when no Dorffest or Flee-Market is on.
