Great location beside the train station and bus terminal (shuttle to the airport), and walking distance to cafés, restaurants and shops. Breakfast options are limited.
Location: Immediately adjacent to Westbahnhof, with airport bus just outside the front door. We arrived at the train station, walked to the hotel to spend the night, then caught the bus to the airport the next morning. Thermostat (apparently centrally controlled) was set at very warm temperature and we had to open window for air. This was in January, with outside temp below freezing. But this seems common in Austria; all the hotels we stayed in were too toasty for comfort and with no air circulating.
Breakfast buffet was excellent Bar service was slow - 15 minutes to get a cocktail.
This is a comfortable and agreeable hotel with good facilities in a very central location close to all amenities, the historic centre and good public transport links. It is usually good value for money and services are of a high standard. I have stayed here on a number of occasions and dined or attended meetings during other visits to Vienna. The wifi in this hotel is as bad as in so many other Vienna hotels. Free wifi is available, but requires a 12 digit/letter code and a separate code for phone, tablet, laptop etc. It only lasts twenty four hours so on a three day trip with three devices you are coding nine times. The signal has an annoying habit of cutting out. This is not a major complaint, but it should also not be a major issue for the hotel to resolve. Even in Vienna there are hotels which can offer simple, strong continuous wifi for multiple devices.
The breakfast was always good and the communial areas always clean
Room and location Hotel could not provide room for smokers, as has been booked.
Excellent location: 10 minutes walk from Steffl Cathedral and the metro is right there outside the entrance of the hotel. Free wi-fi is also a good plus. Decent rooms but very old and not refurnished in many years. Overall the staff was not very professional and did not help out too much. I asked for help on internet and was told to contact swisscom for my problem; I then asked for a map and had to ask for were the hotel was on it: the lady replied very annoyed to my question.... 26€ breakfast buffet seemd too much for the hotel overall
good value for central vienna; helpful front desk bedroom decor seems dated
The room was clean and large. There were tea/coffee facilities, free mini bar, iron, everything what can be ever needed during the trip. Nothing.
Excellent location within walking distance to all historical sights in city centre. The hotel itself is very quite and comfortable. Breakfasts too expensive, nearby traditional Cafe Central (must amongst Viennese caffes) is less than half.
Everything - room was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding - the best I've ever had in a hotel, in terms of healthy options and choice. The staff were very helpful and courteous at all times. The bar excellent and the pianist is just the best! Nothing!
location old lift. slow motion when replacing empty items on breakfast buffet
closeness to the city airport train and town centre. cheerful room and a helpful staff, excellent breakfast.
Room was upgraded due to my hotel membership status. The space in front of reception is not enough as hotel capacity. The time I checked in, so crowded due to some conferences.
The best thing is that the hotel is just across the street from the Train to the airport. No need for a Taxi from the airport or inside the city. The hotel is near the old city and one can walk everywhere.
excellent hotel great location friendly staff food excellent will be back
Location was fabulous for several reasons. Right across the street from CAT train to airport. Can check bags there. Walkable to everywhere: Museums, Spanish Riding School, winter palaces, St Stephen's Cathedral even Belvedere. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Concierge helpful. nothing
Proximity to the airport train and St Stephan's Lack of dedicated information desk and tourist information
Everyting was great Internet was expensive
Internet service should be free like most other hotels I stay at. Even 3 star hotels I stayed at provided it for free. Or at least it should be cheaper. Never stayed in a hotel that charges any TV channels you watch, even regular TV, not just special hotel channels.
Everything, I am going back on september 21st for 2 more nights. I would desperately like to stay there 3 additional nights the 18th,19th and 20th. Absolutely nothing
Location of the hotel, near the CAT station. Convenient to center etc. Staff in reception very serviceminded. Internet should be included in price. Big minus for extra charge of internet! Twin bed - would have prefered double!!
Very good concierge service. Good location. Very poor internet service, extremely slow. Receptions Staff were robotic, no smiles or friendly conversation, would only scripted responses.Twice were given rooms already occupied and twice were locked out of our room - Staff response - that is the way it is: this gives rise to room security.
Location and service Express laundry treatment is not "express" at all. There's no way to get laundry back the same day if deposited during the day. In my view that kind of service is essential for business travellers
Service is excellent, staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect with easy acces to museums, metro , resturants and shopping center. Breakfast is really good. Ambience is very nice. The bar has very good selection of drinks.
Cleanliness of the hotel; location and breakfast Not applicable
Staff was very nice prime location and decent rooms You have to pay €25 if you want to use the gym (per day)
I found the whole experince exactly as it should be. Excellent.
Stylish and centrally-located with friendly staff There's no booze in the mini-bar, you have to ask for it!
Location, staff SPA, only 1 therapist and she's part time
Excellent hotel which I will be using again on my travels to Vienna. Can't fault anything and the location is spot on. nothing
Provided us with an early check in room which was a godsend after the redeye journey. Front desk staff gave us the wrong information on the train station.
Room is spacious and well equipped, convenient furniture
The hotel was nice, walking distance to amazing sites and good restaurants.
The location of the hotel is very good, free mini bar. rooms are small but very nice. The Internet setup is not the best, You got to get a new pass keycode everyday to get online.
We liked everything about the Le Meridien Vienna and would certainly stay there again.
Rooms were comfortable, large and clean, bathroom was spacious with both shower and a bathtub which was great, location is excelent, the staf was pretty helpful. Breakfast, although very expensive, was excelent! At arrival we were told that we were already pre-charged by booking.com and cannot have the bill which we needed for a company. This was strange since in past experiences, booking.com was only for booking and I would be charged directly on the spot. After talking to a manager, receptionist told us that he could give us the bill afterall. Wellness did not work (besides fitness) which was one of the main reasons for booking Le Meridien. Minibar was complimentar but contained only: 2 waters, 2 colas and 1 beer?!!!! I would rather pay than have such a poor choice! I realice you can call room service and order, but I personaly do not like that and I find it disturbing. Also, maid managed to come in in my room twice in the same morning, once I was half naked - I hoped 5 star hotel had a sistem of checking if anyone is still in the room or at least knocking... And at the end, breakfast was 29 EUR, and there is only public garage which you have to pay.
Location and hotel staff style of the hotel
The restaurant of the hotel is excellent I have stayed in this hotel many times. This time I saw scratched and not properly cleaned floor of the room, missing shower caps and sewing kits, lack of prompt replenishment of tea and coffee in the room...
Rooms are very comfort no nothing
The location is perfect, the staff is friendly, breakfast has good varieties. Nothing to mention
The breakfast was amazing and the decorations also the reception and the cleaning Thank you very much .. From kuwait Nothing .. Every thing was fabulous
Le Meridien is one of the finest hotels I have stayed in. The room was large, beautifully appointed and the staff could not have been more helpful. The location is fabulous with the Albertina art gallery, museums and the Opera House within a couple of blocks of the entrance. I would absolutely recommend this premier hotel to everyone! Nothing
fantastic service, furnishings, and location.
Very nice modern interior
The room was very good, it was very comfort and the location was perfect we want to have a dinner, we wait so long to the bar because they couldn’t arrange it to serve to all the guests, after we sit on the table for having dinner, nobody came to serve us. This was very unprofessional
Location Cleanliness of your room
The room style and the Hotel Guide The breakfast is littel and bathroom founding
good location, clean room. wifi overpriced, whatever you touch is being charged even water, hotel staff cannot decide anything, breakfast to be paid even when leaving at 5 am.
I lost my luggage in a cab; the activeness of the personel to retrieve my luggage was heart warming. nothing at all
The room was very big, with a seating area and a study. The bathroom is marble and very clean. The breakfast is big and varied. The waiters and hotel staff are extremely friendly. All speak English fluently. The room is old. The wires were coming out from the lamp socket which is extremely dangerous. The internet is very expensive (10 euros for 1 hour).
location at the center services
Great location and excellent staff. 1.The air conditioning was a huge problem. Could not get the rooms cooled down. The staff was helpful but made the stay very uncomfortable. 2. The wi-fi is expensive. These big chain hotels will nickle and dime you on services such as wi-fi when all other hotels give it for free !! 3. Currently construction is going on..caused some noise disturbance.
I like this hotel very much, and I always stay there for the last 10 years while in Vienna on business as well as with my family. Staff is very nice and polite, rooms are very clean and the whole hotel has a nice scent which did not change over all these years. Hotel's location is excellent. I would always recomend it!
The hotel locates inside of the town, and is close to the tram and U-bahn station that is convenient to access to major sightseeing places.
The room size Very few amenities, very expensive internet connection, bed was not too confortable
i like the location only i do not like the house keeping, the facility like the bed very bad, the room service very poor.
Convenient location behind Parliament & RatHouse; newly renovated with nice design & modern decorating; restaurant & bar with outside patio we had a room on the second floor facing the street; despite double windows, the traffic noise was loud till early in the morning; request rooms not on the street.
exellent location, comfortable style, nice desighn, exellent service nothing to complain on
good location, easy access, modern unobstusive design the service staff is good however, they could be a bit more proactive in satisfying the customers questions. Concierge/FO has poor restaurant knowledge.
Meal Laundry service
the rooms breakfast
A stlyish hotel with excellent facilities and service.Superb breakfast. The signage outside the hotel is inadequate.
Lovel gracious style, exceelent, well-informed staff (Roland was especially good), and a great restaurant on location. One of the best breakfast services in europe.
The hotel is located right behind the City Hall, near to the sightseeings. Service at the reception excellent. We liked very mucht the exhibition of the artist Ioan Nemtoi.
hotel staff, room facilities, location no
The room was big, modern and had air conditioning. The location was terrific Nothing I can think of specifically
everything narrow corridors
Nice rooftop restaurant with a good view of the city, and the staff is polite and attentive to your needs. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They do not have a dedicated concierge, and front desk staff was poorly trained and equipped to provide the customer service you would expect of a concierge. In the concierge capacity, they are neither proactive to support their guests, nor do they have the knowledge or experience to meet the needs of their guests Also, the window shutters in the rooms do not effectively block out light when you are trying to sleep.
location of hotel excellent. hotel was very comfortable, well maintained & lovely character I was not aware that the gym/leisure centre was not at the hotel until I enquired when I was there. Also when I did go to he gym I was not able to find it as I was not given its address just the voucher & not good directions. I felt proper directions with address should be given. majority of staff was very helpful & courtious 7
close to the center and opera house
We booked in advance and paid half price for a room that would otherwise have been way out of our league. We had a great stay. The location is fantastic, right in the busy city centre. The staff were great and the rooms were to die for. A nice end to our holiday, with a little luxury.
hotel atmosphere, location, the large bedrooms, value for the money, nothing
location big room but classic furniture no steam ironing only normal also iron it is just fine, i can iron better lobby is small
location of the hotel was perfect , close to all you'd like to see in Vienna , also close to underground . it has a unique touch of history bath room was not what it should have been in a hotel with this # of stars / history , paint was falling off of the wood surfaces , there were strange stains in the corners ,
Location, Location, Location. In the center of Wien shopping and sites.
good attitude, big room, nice athmosphere Construction work in front of my window, very noisy
Walking distance to shopping area and hotel size is not too big. But also the hotel seems not too pack with people. As my flight arrives at 11am and I requested if I could check-in early - the reply was rather unhelpful. It would be more appreciative if the Manager could somehow help/allow guests to check-in (even at) 1 hour earlier, it would have been appreciated.
The ambience of the hotel location, atmosphere.
Location was great. Hotel was beautiful as was the room.
breakfast was limited vs. other LHW hotels
Rooms are fairly large for European standards and the location is great. The bed is fairly good and the bathroom game is strong. Found the overall staff service to be lacking. Concierge typically jumps at opportunity to provide service/advice but not here. For the most part, the hotel bars and restaurants are over-hyped and completely over-priced with much better alternatives just a few steps away (both quality and price). Smell of stale smoke hits you just as you enter the building - thanks to a smoking lounge conveniently located on the second level. Hotel wifi is a total joke and not to be relied upon. Hotel includes restricted wifi with your room rate and asks ridiculous payment for slight improvement. In my experience even budget accommodations provide this service infinitely better. Overall, this is a stuffy hotel situated for the stuffy traveler. Sounds of enjoyment or laughter are non-existent in common areas, which speaks volumes. Call yourself luxury, and pay for memberships in luxury hotel associations all you want - it doesn't make it so.
Location was outstanding and facilities were very impressive. A storm blew through one night and something outside swinging and banging in the wind awakened us. Called the front desk around 1 am and was told they would look into it, but the banging continued and we were not called back.
Outstanding service NA
Wi-Fi is available everywhere. The business room downstairs is very convinient. You can even use a printer free of charge. Wanted to stay longer. Breakfast is too expensive (31 euros per person), and items within a room mini bar are also expensive. The bathtub and the shower are not well aligned and the water runs through the rim to the floor. Else, everything is perfect.
It is hard to say just one thing about this fabulous hotel. . . it is superior in every regard. The staff are exceedingly gracious and helpful, so service is superb. The food is beyond delicious, so it is a gourmet's dream. The rooms and hotel decor in general are absolutely gorgeous. . .I can't begin to enumerate all the wonderful touches in the bathroom alone. . .so a designer would feel at home. But I must mention cleanliness. . . it is immaculate. Also, the business center was terrific-- computers (with printers) at your fingertips, easy to use and incredibly convenient. One can hardly do better than to stay at the Grand Hotel Wien. It made our vacation even more memorable. There was not one thing negative to say about this excellent hotel.
Had a rest no
We loved everything about the Grand. The hotel staff were friendly and responsive. The location was superb and the hotel itself beautiful. Our room was sumptuous with a huge bathroom, closets, and all the amenities. Internet access in the rooms was free as was the fitness center. We did not eat breakfast in the hotel, but we ordered several dinners from room service and they were delicious and an excellent value.
The location was perfect! We really don't have any complaints other than we would have liked the hotel bar to have been able to make a proper margarita.
lovely atmosphere in hotel, clean, comfortable rooms and friendly staff
Fantastic location, very helpfull and nice staff, beatufull room and bathroom. I missed prospect about Wien, maps and other turistic material in lobby or in bell desk. Also I think that breakfest should be included in price of the room. We are not in America.
King size bed. Pretty good location -fairly central. No tea/coffee machine. No breakfast included. Room basic and bathroom small -no seperate shower. Basic and far too expensive for what it is.
the location of the hotel is perfect, food
The service in the breakfast restaurant is very good. The people in the reception need to be trained more in helping the guest.
Lovely room, nice gym and swimmingpool area. Good breakfast, although better on 1st floor than in the executive lounge Quite small bathroom for a junior suite
We were upgraded to a park suite as the hotel was full for the nights we were there, it was a wonderful surprise and made our holiday incredibly special. Loved the toppers on the matresses too! Didnt want to leave! Overpriced breakfasts and gift stores within the hotel
Extremely friendly and attentive staff--the cleaning staff was especially accommodating to our needs and schedules. The "at your service" staff was also patient, as I had problems with credit card authorization. Everything worked out fine and the staff made us feel very welcome. Also the location of the hotel is perfect. A short walk from the center of Stephansplatz, all the while feeling a bit isolated from the crowds. My first meal in the hotel lobby seating area was a bit less-than- Marriott standards in my opinion. I had ordered a chicken burger with fries with apple struedel for dessert. Unfortunately, all 3 parts of my meal were only warm and tasted a bit old. The apple struedel was also not fresh.
don't block 150% of price on my card , bar champion working till 23.
Hotel is excellent, very comfortable beds. We had the room with join door to the next room. It was very good audibility. We could hear everything what was doing in the next room. And they I suppose as well.
Nothing spesial Nothing
relaxed and easy atmosphere The sign was too small, I drove past it twice-
Central location and modern design Smoking area in bar area - door left open at times
location and styling breakfast prices are outrageous therefore we didn't use
Nice Hotel in the centre of Vienna, part of a chain but small and personal enough not to feel like it Food's not great but lots of restaurants nearby
Central location, nice hotel Reception staff could be more friendly
excellent central location
The location and the comfort of our room the breakfast.
The staff were excellent, especially at reception, and the hotel very stylish nothing
Room and Service
The sky lounge is wonderful
The service, the staff, the room with its wonderful bathroom & the view, the view from the 18th floor restaurant & cocktail lounge. The location would have been better if it were on the Ring Strasse where the Ritz Carlton &The other 5 star hotels are located. A beautiful boulard near all the high end shopping &The Opera House.

We stayed at the Sofitel on our honeymoon. The entire staff went above and beyond in welcoming us and making it a very special three days. The hospitality and service were wonderful. And of course the location and view of Vienna cannot be matched!
front desk receptionist very authentic hot bath water, comfortable bath tub interesting floor in room - no carpet, that's good minimalistic design makes a change room service entering despite no disturb sign (delivery of extra towels took about 20 min) quite loud ventilation you could hear other rooms flushing the toilet the service in the bar is chaotic

It was lovely hotel, modern rooms, amazing river view, smiley, friendly, helpful staffs, they did upgrade my room, thanks for all staffs. NOTHING

contemporary, clean, lots of amenities, complementary water and juice, free internet, close to u-bahn station (schwedenplatz) and short walk to center of city room was bit small and layout was awkward for those used to american hotels.
Nice modern hotel with wonderful staff.
Cool bar, very nice staff Sticky furniture, Plastic degraded, supposedly will be renovated next year.
