Superb king room, enormous bed, sitting area, lovely bathroom, lovely village, lots of walks and just a few miles to the coast. Perfect stay.
Breakfast great quick & easy self service and lovely pot of tea. Mini-bar in room was good, always a little expensive but as I was delayed 30 minutes due to my lift I enjoyed it
free bottle of still water in room
Breakfast was excellent and facilities good
An interesting hotel with old and new parts. Very nice welcome and all the staff were excellent. The room had everything necessary for a comfortable stay. It is located in a lovely little village which has a Norman Castle ruin right opposite the Hotel. Plenty of parking on site. For breakfast there was a superb selection of fresh fruit etc., and cooked breakfast buffet style. The Carvery we had on the Friday evening was extensive .
May be a little awkward for those of limited mobility as a lot of steps and stairs. For example the main Toilets for the Bar, Restaurant and Lounge are located down a flight of stairs. There is a lift in the main building that can take you down there but I would check the situation fully before booking.
Good size room, perfect, and the beds were very comfortable. Shower room was clean clean. Quiet and in a lovely village setting.
Squeaky bathroom door hing only!
Just 10 miles from Brighton, amidst glorious countryside. The Best Western Plus Old Tollgate Hotel, which has an award-winning carvery restaurant - better described as 'visual a la carte' - is within easy reach of Gatwick airport, mainline stations and motorway links. Many historic houses and gardens nearby. At the foot of South Downs hills (awaiting confirmation of National Park status) with miles of walking. Riding, fishing and golf, all nearby. Enjoy your stay.
