Very good cuisine, nice countryside Hotel staff is a little bit poor in English, missing English menu in restaurant...
Quiet peaceful location, modern hotel yet retaining traditional character. Excellent food in restaurant. Highly recommendable. Very helpful and friendly staff. WiFi internet in the rooms would be useful for the modern business traveller. Internet point for 2 users offb the lobby sufficed for this trip.
The location was good and the rooms very spacious. There was no one to help with our bags so we had to carry them ourselves two flights of steps. It was 92 degrees outside and our room temperature was 105 degrees with no air or ventilation. By far the worst night on the whole trip. We had paid for valet parking and found our car on the street parked illegally and unlocked late at night.
Really enjoyed staying a historical building. It is amazing such an old one is still alive "in service". Only if there would be a lift, however, we understand why there wasn's.
Simply fantastic Old Hotel :) We will come back there for sure!
the hotel is beautiful and is very centrally located, making it a wonderful place to stay for a visit to Dinkelsbuhl the staff was not very friendly
Excellent location, beautiful, noteworthy historic building with updated rooms, gracious dining room where an ample breakfast is served. Guests should know that parking is off-site and at an extra cost.
The room was much bigger than we expected - more like a suite with an entry hall, full size shower room and a sitting area with couch. The hotel is quite quaintly decorated which we found to be a unique touch. You really get a feel for the history of the hotel from staying there. Location was great being on the main square of the town. There is a daily night-watchman tour that departs from just across the road and during the day, there is a horse and carriage tour that departs from the building next door. As there is limited parking in the town, we reserved a car park and the staff kindly offered to park the car in the garage themselves and retrieve it the next day for us. For light sleepers, be aware that the main church is directly opposite the hotel and the church bells can be quite loud and go on for some time. This did not bother us as the location and views of the town more than made up for this.
Very modern and trendy, but still in an historic setting. It's a thing, but we dislike German hotel beds (too hard) and pillows (too soft and flat) but this was common to all German hotels.
Located in the town, close to restaurants & shops. Friendly helpful staff. Plenty of space in the apartment to relax. Very quiet - couldn't hear other guests. It's a minor point, but cushions on the leather sofa would be nice to make it more comfortable.
We arrived in Dinkelsbuhl on a rainy evening early in the week. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. Our kids loved having a room overlooking the street. Dinner was outstanding...possibly the best meal ever, for sure our best meal while traveling around Germany. Loved it! There was no coffee for the in-room coffee maker, but that was not really a big deal because they brew a pot of fresh coffee for you at breakfast upon request.
everything was just pleasant and relaxed
We enjoyed our suite, it was spacious with beautiful paintings and antique cabinets. We had good contact with the owners of the hotel, and fond memories of our two days stay. A word of advice, if available, book the suite, it is well worth the extra few dollars. Not the hotel, but the italian restaurant next door was poor, salty soup, pasty pizza, poor service. There are better places in town to eat.
The artist owners created something extraordinary to this very old building. We will certainly return to this lovely hotel (and the city) again some day.
friendly family run hotel in pretty little and fairly unspoilt town. No evening meal but owner is pleased to recommend restaurants.
Amazing room decor!
Helpful owners, location of the hotel, free parking Cannot be helped for the old and somewhat historical building such as this, but there is no lift so putting up and down heavy suitcases is troublesome.
very nice artist host, great location
My wife and I went to Germany for our honeymoon. We stayed in Dinkelsbuhl for the last few nights of our trip. It was nothing less than fantastic! The owners were more than accomodating. The breakfasts were great, the decor was very unique and the art studio displayed many of the owner's pieces. We even bought a few I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend anyone else to do the same!
Very friendly owners. Good combination of art & hotel business. Good location. Clean rooms. We would come back.
The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The room was tastefully decorated and very clean. The bathroom was modern and larger than many in other hotels where we stayed. The location is quiet, but it is also convenient for day trips to other sites of interest in the area.
friendliness of everyone - very clean - excellent food -
Nice place, superb dinner, Not really helpful in assistance and help, when I asked to print some pages from a travel guide, which the Hotel is even associated with.
Pool & spa were excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly Located on a busy town street so a little noisy. Our bedroom was a little small
The staff was responsive and nice, the spa/pool area is beautiful and the food was superb! The only thing I did not like was the 20 Euro fee to put a crib into the room.
The rooms are more than OK. Excelent restaurant. Top quality.People where very friendly. Wireless work very well.
The location of the hotel and its great tasting food are excellent. Nice place to stay and enjoy the area. Staff seemed a bit rushed and uncaring.
I liked the 400 year old buildings, the excellent location in this town, the rooms that were tastefully furnished and the hospitality of the staff. No, everything was fine.
Excellent reception at the desk and convenient to all interesting sights. Easy street parking for 2 euros every 24 hours, and good breakfast in dining room.
Staff was delightful and friendly, spoke English, and the restaurant was divine. We would have eaten there twice save that they were closed on Sundays and Mondays when we were there. Their suggestions however were great for restaurants close by. Rooms were pristine, bath extremely comfortable, beds good. We were in room 26 which appeared charming and spacious (which it was) but a busy road ran between the buildings (which wasn't obvious at first) and was very noisy (like train running through noisy). Also, because the room was stuffy, we needed the windows open which made it worse. I would have liked to have been informed about this and given a choice. The room itself was beautiful and roomy and very comfortable.
This hotel is ideally situated in the heart of this historic smaller town allowing a traveller to park the car and wander through the shops, experience a great meal and explore the past - in which the hotel is a good start. The open sherry flask is not a good idea - providing a 'nightcap' was a thoughtful touch but I only drink something that I open myself or in a restaurant.
very lovely room at the heart of the town
Really nice hotel full of character with friendly staff. Good garage for safe cycle storage. Great breakfast (again!) Everything was good.
Central location in old town. Garage for motorcycle. Tiny shower, room not as requested.
The location of the hotel is excellent for walking around Dinkelsbuhl old town. The hotel and rooms were very quaint and the restaurant was excellent. The breakfast provided was also excellent.
Rooms were large and comfortable. Lots of knick knacks around so it seemed like we were staying in someones house. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Free parking a plus. Wi fil charge excessive...8 euro for 60 minutes. Heat was turned off at night but luckily it wasn't freezing yet outside.
Nice hotel. Excellent location. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Excellent value for the money.
Right in the heart of Dinkelsbuml which is a walled-in mid-evil small city - all cobblestone roads, colorful buildings, real neat place to visit.
The rooms were niced size as were the bathrooms. Free parking and even tho there was no lift, you could drive around back and bring luggage in on 2nd floor from the parking area. breakfast was good, although the woman tending to it didn't seem too friendly toward us. It is located on a side street so there is no view other than the other buildings across the street. It is in a small town so everything is close. tho, Wi fi is 8 euro for 60 minutes. Seemed like lots of "stuff" around
The staff were extremely polite and helpfull. Room was lovely and clean. Didn't want to leave
The family room was big enough for four of us, and bath room has a large and deep bath tub. Also, the dinner was very delicious and the price was reasonable as wel. Everything was perfect, and we want to stay there again.
Very good hotel, excellent service, good access,...
A very pleasant place to relax after a long car journey No
very quiet place at countryside on our way from Prague to Paris and also a very safe indoor car-park useful when your vehicle is full-up going to holidays
Nice hotel with very convenient location for those who travel by car. There are two options for car parking, including one free of charge. Spacious 'garden view' rooms with the balcony. The English speaking hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Free of charge computer with Internet access on the ground floor. Good restaurant and bar facilities. Everything was good for us.
Very spacious room, great breakfast buffet. There is a charge for a car park on site, this should not be the case for any 4 star hotel which charges EUR 130 per night per room. Also, the beverages in the room were stupidly overpriced. Needs new approach to traveling families.
The fact that there was an excellant Bar & Resturant in the Hotel, Food & Drink where reasonable priced. As with Irish Hotels - 3 Star to 5 Star, there is always Coffee & Tea making facilities within the room. This is something that European hotels typicaly don't offer which is a shame.
Quaint, central to the town. Interesting architecture. Comfortable beds. Clean Somewhat musty smelling. A little noisy in the day and early evening since it sits on a corner and the windows open to the street.
staff v helpful--gave us early breakfast day we were leaving--at 6 --though they dont start til 7---v v convenient--we loved the character of the old hotel not enough staff in the Dining Room at dinner --the one waitressw was v pleasant -but too busy
good location, breakfast.
Beautifull room, nice decoration!
A very nice hotel in a quiet part of Dinkeslbuhl, our bedroom was very big and cool as we were on the ground floor. The decor of the room may appear slightly outdated but it fits perfectly with the style of the hotel and all its original features. Breakfast was super in a beautiful room, the staff were very kind and trustful. I recommend this hotel without hesitation.
The attic room was excellent. The furniture was great.
Very good location, ok parking, good kitchen
Friendly staff The room was too noisy, you could not open the windows for long as cigarette smoke wafted through and the curtains did not darken the room at night.
Excellent room and location. Very atmospheric. The sevice in the restaurant was slow and incompetent. Wrong dishes were brought and had to be returned on the two occasions we dined here; the wrong wine was brought on the first night and was forgotten on the second. Quality of food was quite good.
We toured the town by foot, enjoyed cafes and restaurants. This is a fine, clean, comfortable hotel with good value. I recommend.
The staff were helpful and very friendly. The food was delicious. The breakfast room was beautifully appointed and the breakfast choices extensive and fresh. Our rooms were comfortable and it was nice to have a mini bar in the room. No negatives at all except the ringing of the 6 AM bells in the church right outside our window! We know there is nothing to be done about this - it was just startling!
The staffs are very kind and excellent location. Hotel itself is clean and quite enough based on the budget.
Centrally located on the markplatz. Good breakfast and restaurant for dinner (also others nearby). Parking is limited. No lift so difficult access for the disabled.
The location of the hotel and the attitude of the hotel people.
Kindness of personnel We had a room on second floor and there is no elevator.
friendly staff, nice and stylish furniture
Pleasant staff, large room, clean. Great food, great location. I have no complaints.
It was wonderful, i like it very much. The hotel is in the city centre of the old town. you can go everywhere by walk. take picture at the old town. Hotel stafs very polite and kind. i feel my self in the medieval. Beautiful abiance.
I loved this place. It retained its was old world feel, but was roomy, clean and airy. We felt welcome, and well cared for. The internet connection was a bonus.
The hotel staff/owner are friendly and willing to help. The hotel integrates well into the people of Dinkelsbuhl, so you will not feel artificial. The restaurant provides decent food (in fact, the hotel is more like a subsidiary of the restaurant) Guests having rooms on the other sides may not have the same problem. The triple room is facing the front of the hotel in the main street. Restaurant guests enjoy their night until quite late while the city activities start very early in the morning. So, we have only a few hours of quiet sleep.
The charm & comfort of a wonderful little hotel. The owners were so helpful & pleasant. We ate at the restaurant and really enjoyed our traditional Franconian meal.
Everything was good. . The flies- there where many of them. But we were at a farm, so that we could have told our selves
the thermoregulators on heaters were not working properly. as an effect the heater could only be very hot or absolutley cold. This impacted the comfort of overnight.
Big room, exellent food, kind staff A lot of flies, there were a big barn on the backside, thats why
