Atmosphere like in a old country inn - comfortable, individual, rustic
Sound hotel at a good place for a stop when circumnavigating iceland. Nice lounge area avialable for guests. Food was nice, but do look at resteraunt on the edge of town also.
Most kind of the owners to provide the evening meal even as the nearest Restaurant was closed for the winter. They were very kind, as were all the hotel owners / receptionists that we met around Iceland.
My room was nice and cosy and spacoius. The food was good and one of the ladies in my group was able to play the organ and sing hymns altho it was hardwork pumping the organ with her feet. 3 things not available. 1. Hairdryer 2. Tissue paper 3. English TV news channel such as BBC or CNN etc.
Nice and accommodating staff and attractive interior
Friendly welcome, and pleasant, good sized rooms. The hotel is built log-cabin style, so the rooms have pine walls. Very friendly welcome, good home cooking, and a nice buffet breakfast. A superb location in the magnificent volcanic and glacial scenery of the relatively remote fjords of Eastern Iceland, just off the 'Ring Road'. Interesting small museums, but open out of season by appointment only. We were just passing through, but looks like an interesting area to explore. There was nothing I didn't like.
The rooms were cozy and comfortable; the breakfast, especially the freshly baked bread, was simply fantastic. The staff who served us was very helpful too. The lack of a conspicuous, lighted-up sign that says "Hotel Blafell".
Room had been renovated Still renovation going on at the hotel
Nice rooms and facilities.
