Pros: Great B&B with very friendly host!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners met us at the door of their lovely home. They explained about all aspects from providing a 24 hour number, to the 24 hour coffee, homemade sweets, etc. The room was lovely ((which they upgraded at no expense due to low number of guests), crystal glasses, thick wonderful towels and very comfortable bed. All rooms were lovely and recommendation for dinner was spot on! The home cooked breakfast with freshly ground coffee was ready at the time we requested. WONDERFUL stay!
Cons: Nothing- it was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly hosts, charming room, and Bethel itself is a beautiful and lay-back destination.
Cons: Nothing not to like!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful, super friendly folks who are dedicated to excellence!
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The bed was firm and comfy. The breakfast was the best BB breakfast in recent memory. Roomy, quaint, interesting antiques on display, and oh did I mention the bed was perfect for resting after a day of hiking Grafton Notch State Park. Nice, breezy porch, and lots of little extra touches that made the stay relaxing. There is also a grocery store across the street too!
Cons: You know there were one or two things that hadn't been renovated completey but John mention that became the owner last year, and there were big fixes that had to be completed, and tat they were knocking out the little ones now. So, no big.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were excellent, explained all the workings, even offered a time we wanted to come to breakfast. And it was great.nothing
Cons: Nothing
4.5 Okay
Pros: The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating,
Cons: The bed and breakfast facility was not worth the price. I know all the hotels around Sunday River are expensive but I felt ripped off. The bed was not comfortable. The shower was so tiny. I wish they just had normal breakfast choices. The parking lot is so small we almost got side swiped. It was very old and the entire bathroom smelled like pee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was very quaint and comfortable and the hosts were extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons: Loved it all.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice area and quiet. Staff was very friendly
Cons: A/C should have been turned on before we got there. The A/C couldn’t cool the room off so it was a little too warm to sleep. They should have a designated smoking area which is not near the rooms and vehicles
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The proximity to the beautiful surrounding area. Lots of hiking and places to dip in the water. The hosts were very helpful and kept the place beautifully clean and tidy. We loved the breakfast. We wished we could have stayed longer to visit more trails and areas of beauty. We would like to see more of this area.

Room was immaculate, comfortable and well-stocked. Our deal came with breakfast, which was made to order and scrumptious. The location is perfect for access to many recreational spots. We're already planning a ski season return!

Overview Reviews

10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a lovely person - the best breakfast with French-Toast, fresh fruits, almonds and bacon!! We got an upgrade of the room without asking for it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This was a great value stay, easy to find with lovely views towards the higher mountains. It is an old property with the quirky features that make them attractive so be prepared for sloping floors, creaky floorboards and not always the most modern of facilities. There was a lovely selection of teas, coffees and biscuits for guests in the main building to help themselves and a warm welcome from the hosts.
Cons: The breakfast was generous and traditional for the area but for us there was an unusual combination of different and mainly sweet flavours all on one plate and we would have preferred to have these served separately. If you have a sweet tooth you would probably really love it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved this place! Very nice couple own and run it. Fabulous breakfast! Beautiful view! Would love to go back someday!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: quaint hostelry with very friendly satff
Cons: We made our reservation in February for a 4 night stop in October. The place is remote but advertised a very popular restaurant, we complied with their request to book dinner before we arrived - restaurant had been closed - felt conned and had drive miles to find food each evening
7.5 Good
Pros: The host and hostess were great, the location is great but the wonderful old house and its cottage need lots of maintenance.
Cons: Only the maintenance
7.5 Good

9.5 Excellent
Pros: On booking it stated restaurant on site. When I tried to book a table we were told food was not being served. The only restaurant nearby was also closed on that night. They should state on the website clearly if food is not a a as this is a rural location.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Room was very clean and well supplied. Historic facilities in a beautiful setting.
Cons: Our bed was very squeeky and loud every time we move so we did not sleep well.

Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. Dani the owner could not do enough for me. Very kind and considerate even warning me about the speed traps set up on the roads in and out of town by the cops. Thank you Dani
Cons: Nothing everything was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful food, staff and hospitality. THEY WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY!! Thank you for a wonderful time. The drinks were also very good and the charm of the pub and all the wait staff added to the overall experience.
Cons: not applicable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Danni the owner was a great hostess and was a wealth ok information and knowledge. She made sure to meet our needs and went above and beyond. The breakfast we yummy. The room was very comfortable and clean. I loved the keyless entry so I didn't have to worry about losing a key.
Cons: I can't really say much that I didn't like, only thing was there were some repairs going on and we weren't able to eat at the inn and pub. But that wasn't a criticism , just a timing. We will be back again to test out the new pizza they will have on their menu.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, friendly, quiet, good breakfast options, terrific pizza.
Cons: A little short on lights for reading in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Dani and her husband Enrico met us at the door to check us in at 10 pm after our full-day hike to Mt Madison. Dani was warm and welcoming to tour us around the property and inquired what we would like for breakfast in the next morning. We also talked about the culture and politics of contemporary America, and Dani was glad to share her personal stories with us. In the next morning, Dani prepared us breakfast and was attentive serving the tables. She offered Aspirin and Tylenol to alleviate muscle soreness from our strenuous hike. She was an excellent host and a tour guide to offer the must-sees in the neighbourhood, but unfortunately, we had to head back to New York. We look forward to maybe spending our next vacation at the Sunday River ski resort and hopefully, we will run into Dani and Enrico again!

7.5 Good
Cons: The pool was closed
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We were there the end of December and at the end was decorated for Christmas. It was lovely! We also loved watching the horse drawn sleigh rides out back. It was like a winter wonderland. Our kids really enjoyed The outdoor pool!
Cons: At first, we were in one of the outbuildings. It was more like a ski dorm. We booked really late at a very busy time, after speaking to the front desk we were upgraded to the main inn, which was very cozy and comfortable with easy access to the fireplace in the main lobby, the dining room for breakfast, and the downstairs Tavern.
7.0 Good
Pros: Could see he mountains
Cons: Unable to access back porch blocked. Fireplace didn’t work. Others complained of dog barked. Supposedly dog friendly lodging. But not so
5.5 Okay
Pros: Property sits on a nice piece of land in town. Quiet
Cons: Furniture is out dated and uncomfortable carpets have stains all over them. The beds mattresses need replacement very hard and uncomfortable. For the price a night I expected much more
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was really convenient! Our room was huge! The fireplace was controlled by a thermostat, luxury! Location is perfect for exploring the town.
6.3 Good
Pros: location and downstairs restaurant convenient
Cons: Bedside lamp bulb out, clock not working, room very small (misleading to call this "standard room", bed not great (two twins together but they did disclose that.
5.5 Okay
Pros: It was a clean place.
Cons: No amenities. It just was a poor value for the money. It this had been $150 per night I'd have been quite happy with it. But for $276 a night I then expected a first class place and it fell thru. No amenities at all. Just a common physical setup. Could not get the Stanley Cup Finals on cable. They said only at the bar. Golf course was fair at best. Parking was terrible. Tried to check in at 1:30PM and the clerk said come back and 3 and just didn't care what that meant to me. What was I going to do? When I complained to my wife loudly as we walked out the door, the clerk found a room for us. The point is she should have done that before getting the guest upset. Just an overall disappointment for the money charged.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. Close to xc ski trails.
Cons: Loud dogs in hallway at night woke my 1 year old many times. But that isn't the hotels fault. I think you can also choose to stay in pet free areas of the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was outstanding, beds were perfect and we had a Nice gas fire place. Breakfast was whatever we wanted with a friendly server. Absolutely perfect.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: It was difficult to reach anyone at the front desk. I called a couple times- once when at the pool because towels had run out. Couldn’t get ahold of anyone.

Cons: Staff could have told us about the home and it’s history
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the breakfast and the entire staff was wonderful! Loved the fact that they had a piano! I got to practice before my show uninterrupted! ... That was a great surprise! Ironically I had booked there accidently... I was told the band was staying at the Grand Summit Inn.. and I booked here ( Grand Victorian) .. best mistake I have made in a long time lol ... so quiet... Can't wait to come back! DJ "Jammin" Jeff Bradley Hampton Beach NH
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Alex greeted me on arrival. I had dinner at Brian's across street at her suggestion. Morning greeted by Mary, nice Sinatra music..really great talks about inn. I would come back soon...and the interior is so victorian..john bossert
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. The breakfast was great. Fresh fruit, kettle for hot tea, homemade granola and a choice of pancakes, French toast or eggs and bacon.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facilities and staff were exceptional. Top notch customer service!!
Cons: N/A. We enjoyed all facets of the lodging experience.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house, the room was like stepping back in Victorian times. Loved it, spacious as well.
Cons: Mattress in room 9 suited for 1 person or a couple that likes to sleep close to each other. My son and I kept rolling towards the middle
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing. Room was uncomfortable. There were no curtains on the bathroom window. Terrible. The woman who runs the breakfast was kind and courteous and seemed not surprised of our experience with the innkeeper. She was not able to help with a refund.
Cons: We were disappointed in the innkeeper. She was disoriented, talked of doublebookings, removed belongings of another patron to fit the other couple we were with, and was rude. We left early because of this yet I was charged for the full 2 nights stay.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: The room was nice and spacious and located right on Main Street
Cons: They double charged me and I have yet to get any of my money back. There is no office to report to to get service other than a piece of paper with a phone number to call. No one seems to know what's going on ever.
6.3 Good
Pros: Friendly inn keepers, great location! Towels and linens were fabulous. Breakfast was adequate - wish coffee and cream was out all day though.
Cons: Bed was terrible (room 6), bathroom ceiling leaked and although they repaired it the next morning we weren't offered compensation, TV was way too high to use the remote while in bed! I think the inn keepers need experience in making their house MY house, i.e., use of the refrigerator for left overs, use of outdoor tables, gourmet options at breakfast (maybe an omelet or baked good).
7.0 Good
Pros: excellent breakfast, great sitting rooms inside, excellent propane fire element and seating outside. Sargeant the dog onsite was an awesome treat!
Cons: Bed in room 7 was a little concave.
7.5 Good
Pros: good, waitress/cook excellent,
Cons: The out doors could have been more cared for all around. The Inn keeper could have been more professional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Like everything there. Great staff and delicious breakfast

Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful. The location was good. Very roomy and clean.
Cons: NA
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: I was not able to make my reservation due to a funeral service for my husband’s uncle. The funeral service was on the same day as our stay and we are 4 hours away. After the service, there was a family bbq that we were to attend. I called Monday to ask for a refund. I was told that the manager would call me back. I have never heard any thing back from them. At an already difficult time, a simple return phone ca would have been considerate. I feel it’s proof they need of his death and funeral service, I would have been happy to provide it. Trust me, we would have much rather been at Sunday River having fun then at a gravesite laying out Uncle to rest.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Spacious for a larger family compared to a double hotel room. I was pleased that they had a small kitchen area to prepare/store food. The pool area was very nice!!
Cons: A little wierd smell when we first got in the room, but that could have been cleaning products or just the smell of the place.

Pros: Very welcoming owner. Unfortunately we did not get the breakfast as we were running a race the next day and needed to eat early. If someone is looking for a rustic real New England Inn this is it.
7.5 Good
Pros: The foot was marginal. The room was fine, not great. I would stay there again, but it's maybe 3 star
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nicely decorated, very antique flair, nice home cooked breakfast, very attentive staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly host, charming room and a nice breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable accommodations. Excellent breakfast in the morning. Sandra is just the sweetest person. Very nice to talk to. Location was perfect for us. We would definitely go back again. Very comfortable atmosphere.
Cons: We'd like a room next time with more than 1 chair. Other than that, everything was fine.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The woman who runs this bed and breakfast is extremely friendly and willing to do whatever it takes to make our stay enjoyable.
Cons: I had no hot water in the shower after my partner took his shower. It could have been that everyone staying was showering at the same time since it is an older house. It's not really that big of a deal since the second morning the shower was great. The temp in room could have been a bit warmer or had extra blanket on bed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. It is an old Victorian and lots of quaint stuff such as lights with pull chains. Part of the ambiance.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient location
Cons: Very friendly people
7.5 Good
Pros: Unfortunately I had to leave before breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
Cons: the window air conditioning unit couldn't keep up with the heat so I was perspiring until the room finally cooled down in the wee small hours of the morning. Although the room boasted a nice modern flat screen tv, I couldn't get the controller to change the channel and the channel it was on wasn't something I wanted to watch.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Attentive service
Cons: Sleigh bed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Breakfasts , Very friendly owner and Staff
Cons: Warmer outside

6.3 Good
Pros: Customer service on the phone was great
Cons: There was no staff on site, and vending machines didnt work..if I wasnt working in the area I wouldnt have stayed there
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: No Kleenex in the room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. Huge bathroom. Nice place.
Cons: Nothing I didn’t like about the place. If I had to knit-pic, the water pressure in the shower is enough to peel paint. I own a pressure washer with less pressure. That’s a nice thing but it’s not really adjustable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bit difficult to rate 'staff' because we saw no one. It sounds strange to self check-in and -out but this is what we did. The system worked beautifully so 'staff' must be good.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and comfortable . The beds were very good , slept like a log ! We were given plenty of towels and had no complaints
Cons: When we arrived on Sunday we went to our room ( # 4 ) and the door was locked . We had to call Stephanie and have her come to open our room . When she opened the door there was luggage from another guest . We were then given another room ( 12). Also the hairdryer barely worked . If u shut it off , there was no getting it to work again .
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed. Clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was quite large and the access was easy.
Cons: Pink countertop and wallpaper.
6.3 Good
Pros: Near Sunday River
Cons: Room smelled of smoke. Outside the rooms are ashtrays and prople sit outside smoking. The smell gets in the rooms, and, if you sit outside (I was on the second floor) the cigarette smoke comes right up. There are no staff on site
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Likedeverything
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were very clean and spacious.
Cons: The outside needs a little maintenance. The deck outside our door is in need of repair. Loose boards and cracked or missing planks on the deck posed a trip hazard.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The inn keepers are super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast on the run - corn muffins, coffee and fruit - were very delicious and convenient for our time constraints.
Cons: There was a damaged wall in room 2 that could use repair. The shower was snug - a bowed rod would add space and luxury.
