8.3 Excellent
Pros: Overall a nice stay. They said our room was wallpapered by Brad Pitt's father, so that was a little bonus.
Cons: The time frame for arriving at breakfast was 8:00 to 8:30, which means early risers and late sleepers are out of luck. Check-in time was also very restrictive, and checkout was at 10:00. Bed was abnormally high in the air, requiring steps. Probably would prefer to have known that the property belonged to some sort of megachurch that had recently changed its name.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building with amazing decor. Myra could not have been a more charming hostess!
Cons: Wish they served breakfast everyday!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place to stay. So much history in one place but also renovated to be more than functional. Very clean. Staff was hospitable and helpful.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed on a Thursday night. Apparently they only serve breakfast on a Sat or Sunday which was not told in a booking.com description. A bowl of granola bars, packaged cinnamon rolls were all that was provided. Coffee was a a container from the night before. A bowl of apples would be a great enhancement. Also maybe a Keurig machine for guests to make a fresh hot beverage in the morning would be a welcome upgrade. The mansion was lovely. Myra was a delight to talk with upon arrival what a gem she is. Just a few upgrades for midweek guests would be so great.
Cons: Explained above. A few easy upgrades to midweek guests for a more satisfactory get your own breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are really informative and very accommodating. The facilities were very clean. Loved my stay here. The little extras that they provide was great. Definitely stay here if you are in Springfield.
Cons: I
7.5 Good
Pros: Location and value. Easy access.
Cons: Small bathroom
6.8 Good
Pros: It is an old Victorian style house. We loved the old fashioned style. It was different from a chain hotel and that is what we were looking for. Nice glass stained windows on patio door. It looked really nice when the sun came in.
Cons: Cushions on patio furniture were rained on, so we could not sit down. House needs repairs/paint job. Thin walls, so you hear everything from the next room. We only found fruit and bagels for breakfast on the tables. When we arrived staff had mentioned that they would make eggs and ham. Nobody was there at time of breakfast or check-out.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved the Rose room, it was nicely decorated. It was bright during the day and dark at night. The room was very spacious and comfy. The bed was very inviting with sheets that were wonderfully crisp.
Cons: The breakfast was good, but not exceptional. The scrambled eggs were moist like I like them and the ham was very good. I was surprised that you serve yourself with pastries, fruit, coffee, orange juice and water. I hadn't thought to warm up the pastries in the microwave, they would have been even better warm.
7.0 Good
Pros: Had plenty of charm and great staff.
Cons: If you’re older three flights of old stairs are tricky, no elevator.
Hotel Vandivort - Springfield - Building

9.2 Excellent (596 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Vandivort in Springfield (Downtown Springfield), you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World and Missouri State University. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Event facilities at this hotel consist of conference space and meeting rooms. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available on request).
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: You'd think reserving a room six weeks in advance and paying in full would be enough for this hotel to keep your booking but that's not actually true. Someone else can show up before you, take your booking and you'll be transferred to a lesser hotel, miles away and the staff will make you feel like it's your fault. I've stayed in there in past and it was a really mixed experience. The walls are paper thin but it was in a convenient location. I would have stayed again but now I'd say reserve a room at your own risk, who knows what will happen when you get there.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, great breakfast, excellent location, loved the coffee and popcorn in the lobby!
Cons: Our sheets weren’t changed during our 3 night stay.. they just made the bed but didn’t actually change the sheets. It wasn’t a huge deal, but we would’ve preferred fresh sheets each day. Also, the bed was super firm so we didn’t sleep well during our stay.
6.5 Good
Pros: A lady named Sue. She worked 6:00-11:00 at your breakfast shift. So sweet and gracious to everyone.❤️

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Free breakfast. Big room.
Cons: The people upstairs from us had a hyper kid that ran back and fourth all evening to the point I had to call the front desk to ask them to make him stop. He started up bright and early at 7:30 in the AM. Very inconsiderate people.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beds were so comfortable after a long drive. Pool and fitness center very clean. Rooms had a lot of storage spots for clothes and belongings. Convenient kitchennete for hungry growing kids. Walmart just down the road. Later check out then most hotels and front desk said we could check out at 1pm without additional fees.
Cons: Like everything so far!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and welcoming staff. Something for everyone at breakfast. Clean and comfortable rooms. Convenient digital key and check in/check out if you have Hilton Rewards App.
Cons: We drove through the night from Ohio, got in early and asked if we could have an early check-in. We waited with the kids for hours and ended up checking in right at 3 p.m. Granted, our reservation was not until 3 p.m. I was surprised that they could not get one room ready. Other than that met expectations.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, very accommodating and friendly staff, even with a very late check in. The room was incredibly clean, all amenities provided. The market selections were ample. Breakfast choices were excellent.
Cons: The coffee was a bit astringent.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was extremely clean and convenient. The staff was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Both beds were so comfortable, it was VERY clean, VERY kid friendly
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: After discussing all of this with the assistant GM I asked for a comp on a room and she granted my request. She did not offer anything; I had to ask.
Cons: I booked three rooms via booking.com. The hotel only had two reservations upon arrival in their system. One of those rooms was the correct room I reserved and the other was not. They told me it happens often with booking.com. After finally getting three rooms I was then overcharged an additional $450. I won't get that money back until Tuesday or Wednesday; today is Friday. After relaxing on the couch to watch TV I was bitten multiple times by what I assume is bed bugs. My torso is covered in large welts and I am terrified that I will bring bed bugs home with me in my luggage. The bed was very uncomfortable (I could feel the springs and it was bouncy). So with the fear of bed bugs and the uncomfortable bed I most certainly did not sleep very much.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was amazingly comfortable! My kids even said the sofa sleeper was very comfortable! Traveling with our family of 6, a sink outside the bathroom is so convenient, thank you! I'm a clean freak, really appreciated the immaculate room! The pool was nicely decorated with colorful furniture and well lit...and so clean! The gym was perfect too! Loved how I could watch my 15 year old run on the treadmill while I sat in pool room watching my two littles in the pool. Breakfast was delicious too, so many options!!!!
Cons: NOTHING!!!

Pros: The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We were staying the night and flying out the next morning so we utilized the shuttle. The shuttle driver was very friendly and helpful as well. The room nice clean and the beds were comfortable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was nicely prepared. The selection of foods, fruits and variety was beneficial for vegetarians and meat eaters. However the layout of the buffet is backwards, you have to hunt to find the utensils, they are on the bar behind the buffet area.
Cons: $200 per night is expensive, in comparison to the same types of hotels charging $120 - $150. per night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a good location for different activities and sights in Springfield. They honored our early check-in request. You would expect the following 3 things to be standard but they are not at some other hotels: Clean room , correct TV listing guide and towels for two. They also provided a delicious hot breakfast with variety.
Cons: Pool facility was disappointing and there was no hot tub/spa. No noise cancelling fan available so we heard street noise. No tub, only shower in room but they did honor early check-in request so maybe that was the only room available at the time.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms and beds were very clean and comfortable. Best hotel stay we've had in a long time! And we've traveled frequently lately!
7.0 Good
Pros: Location, pool, complimentary drinks and food
Cons: Food choices at evening “happy hour” were disappointing. There was weak nacho cheese and chips, baked potatoes (not cooked enough) with butter and sour cream, green salad, some kind of tasteless pasta, hot dogs with bean chili (yuck)—mostly carbs. The mixed drinks were good according to my family. My son left a new camera—his fault. He called about it, and there was some confusion and lack of cooperation at first. They did “find” the camera the next day and mailed it to our home address. It arrived in good condition, which is a little surprising, considering it was just in a box that frozen chicken strips came in, with no filler material. The box looked like someone smashed it with their fist. I really feel like the cleaning person found it the first day and hid it in a locker or something to wait and see if anyone asked for it. We were told at first that all they found in our room was pizza boxes. We hadn’t had any pizza! So—wrong room, flat out lie, or what? This situation left a “bad taste” for this experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Happy hour was nice. Property was clean, well maintained, and comfortable. I normally have issues with the mattress at hotels. No issues this morning, back was fine.

Pros: The breakfast was great and dinners in evenings were very good! We had a small child with us and she does not drink soda and you don’t offer milk in evening also I eat plant based so maybe you could look into something for folks that eat that way!
Cons: Shower did not have adjustable head and it was dark and no place to hang your towel! Not sure if you offer handicapped areas or not ! We will book directly with hotel next time cause we did not get discounts cause of it using this second party booking was a learning we will never do again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly front desk staff. Big suite and comfortable bed AND comfy pillows with roomy bathroom. Good full breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean rooms
Cons: Happy Hour was a great ending to a long travel day.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, staff was friendly. The young man assisting us at breakfast in the morning, Jacoah, was absolutely wonderful.
Cons: The hotel itself was great. All around, just excellent. My only complaint is that I asked for an extra blanket at 7 before my kids went to bed, by 8 we still hadn't received it so we just had to tough it out.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: The bed was a lot harder than I am used to.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff is fantastic!!!
Cons: It seemed the A/C would warm up after midnight, regardless of setting. I set the temp at 67 the second night, at 0450, according to the thermometer in my Garmin it was 74 in the room. Hybrid parking only in the front row? I parked there anyway.

1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: AC broken, extremely small TV, extremely hard beds, no extra pillows and $3.00 for a bottle of water...this hotel is horrible. They lie about free breakfast...it's not free. When checking out they said sorry for the misunderstanding. I said no, you lied.

Pros: Free cookies and cappuccino offered when checking in. Front desk staff was very nice. Location easy to find.
Cons: Free breakfast was very underwhelming. Scrambled eggs had an odd taste and they were gritty???!!! Breakfast area was way too small for the amount of guests and only 1 waffle maker. Could tell it was a remodeled hotel which is fine but our room smelled a little musty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly check-in person. There were many options at breakfast. The price was within our budget. Location gave us easy access to Highway 65 S. to Branson. There was no traffic noise from nearby highway. Only 2 levels to the hotel, no one heard walking above us.
Cons: Would like to have seen some gluten free options at breakfast.

Pros: Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. I especially appreciated two night tables, a desk, a comfy chair and counter space in addition to that in the bathroom. We were there 3 nights and all the staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful.

Pros: Staff were great. My flight out was cancelled so I arrived two days late and they were incredibly accommodating with making changes to my reservation. Rooms looked recently renovated and were very clean. This place has a lot of charm, I really enjoyed the stay. Included breakfast was nice.
Cons: Rooms are a tad small but this is to be expected since it's a historical property.
9.3 Excellent
Cons: Good breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Outside rooms, awesome filling breakfast! Great location.
Cons: Great sleeping hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is like taking a step back in time. It has lots of fun little spot to take selfies with old 1950's phone booths and actual cars! The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. It has a nice little pool and Hot tub. This is our seconds stay here.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness, decor was great, being able to park in front of room, friendly staff, good variety of foods for breakfast!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is a really neat property. It is a motel but there are a lot of rooms on several "streets" if you will. It feels like a nice small town neighborhood. There is a nice pavilion and an outdoor pool and hot tub. The motel has been there a long time but you sure can't tell it. It has been modernized and is very well kept. The room was modern and clean as well with all the amenities.
Cons: If I have to nit pick, the only thing was that the shower temp cycled a bit from hot to cool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Rail Haven is a step-back in time to when I traveled across America with my parents. The motor lodge is very well maintained. Looking forward to a return visit!
Cons: I’ve had better gravy for my biscuit. Picky picky
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is a historic Route 66 motel at has served people travelling the route for decades. The property is well situated, well equipped, spotlessly clean and has great staff. It has a nice pool area and outside social area. Breakfast area is like a 50s diner. One of our favourites on the trip.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very busy motel, and desk clerk was rather overwhelmed by line at check in, but all employees were helpful and friendly. Nice outdoor pool area. On a busy street, but once in the rooms it was very quiet. Cuet 1950's room decor. Better than average breakfast which included eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy as well as the more usual cereal, bagel, and waffle choices. Great coffee.
Cons: Needed extra desk staff for busy check-in times.
8.0 Excellent

Cons: nothing really - you get what you pay for

Pros: This in an old route 66 stop. I liked they kept some of the old charm when they remodeled the rooms. Nice mixture of old and new.
Cons: They say the rooms facing road can get loud due to traffic. But, we stayed in a back corner room and heard nothing.

Generally the hotel "gets" hospitality and did an amazing job when I come back to Springfield it will be my choice in Hotel!
Cons: Everything was great until we were leaving. Everything seemed clean and neat. Essentially cross contaminating all clean and dirty sheets.
