Access of other areas, highly recommend going to dunlewy great day for all the family It is in need of redecoration, old lumpy beds and badly patched together wallpaper, but lovely hotel
The staff were very friendly & helpful as well as the excellent food in the resturant.
very pleasant environment
The staff were very helpful and the food was excellent, spacious room and well laid out. Lots of stairs to get to room (302) my fault I did not tell staff in advance of my stay that I had a lung condition and found the walk a bit of a struggle. But I must say did not inform the hotel in advance.
friendly staff & good food
the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and professional. nothing
Family run hotel with character, very relaxing Seemed over stretched re staff - service could have been better
Hotel was central for exploring the surrounding countryside which is particularly beautiful. Food was very good. Liked the idea of choice of menus, thus choice of prices. Would have liked some entertainment in the evenings.
There was a very friendly, relaxing and homely atmosphere. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The food was also very good. N/A
very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast Room was well appointed but unable to keep window open to freshen room due to road noise outside.
The restaurant was very child friendly and the staff were friendly
Swimming pool facilities, wide and varied breakfast choice Some bathroom fittings needed repaired
Facilities and toileteries in room. Comfortable. Lack of reception staff
location and friendly and helpful staff combined with everything needed under the one roof.spotlessly clean making our stay very comfortable and relaxing Nitpicking I know but room 315 had a hairline crack in the sink, toilet paper was very budget and behind the TV was quite grubby obviously through rough movement /carelessness when moving the TV.Perhaps an upgrade to more slimline TVs would compliment the modern look of the rooms. Not really blown away by the industrial view out of the window.I hasten to add none of the above in any way ruined our stay there but It would have been 100% considering these tiny matters.I would definately use again and could also recommend to others.
All of the staff were pleasant and very professional. The hotel was at full capacity but that did not in any way effect their level of service. Food in the Oakk Bar Grill and breakfast each morning was delicious.
A modern Hotel in the right location No
Hotel easy to locate by car, Excellent breakfast, good al a carte menu, reasonable bar food. Good leisure centre Overbearing heat in hotel corridors - poor/no air conditioning. No Cover/ awning in smokers area. Ventiation in bathroom not working, Shower spray unit holder broken
Hotel staff were friendly and professional. Food was excellent and competitively priced.
Location was perfect for my visit to Letterkenny. I have been in your Hotel twice in the last two months and I have enjoyed my stay.
I was there for 3 days as my daughter was dancing in a Feis, it was all very rushed and I didnt have an awful lot of time to spend in the Hotel, I was happy with everything and would go back and would have no problem recomending your hotel. I slipped getting into the shower as there was no bath mat. I have a bruised knee and pulled muscle in my right shoulder. I know this was my own fault and I did think getting in that it was very slippy.
i found hotel and room vert spacous
I did like the entertainment but it starts far too late. Performers were good but as they did not start till 10.15+ the bar was clearing long before they finished. There are enough nite clubs in the town to cater for the late night reveller. This hotel should be catering for the opposite and watch their bar takings grow. Could not get a pen anywhere to take a message. Rooms dont have one and reception only willing after perseverance to let me BORROW a cheap plastic biro to be returned immed after use.
The room was a good size and the power shower excellent Some of the front desk staff were not as polite as they could have been. The "cable" television in the bedroom was a joke . The first night there was no reception in the entire hotel, subsequent nights the reception in the bedroom was poor with a very limited choice of stations. A choice of 3 stations with poor sound and poor quality picture is not in my opinion cable TV. The Hotel was all too warm.
Everything, mcgettigans bar especially....fabulous food, extremely comfortable beds, friendly staff great breakfast.....
the pool was wonderful we felt the food was disappointing, very average, frozen veg and over priced
Excellent leisure centre with helpful staff, nice room-really clean and great shower, tasty breakfast The Noise levels were dreadful! Monday night the music went on until 4am despite ringing down to the switch. It also took ages to get an answer from the front desk (around 40mins!).
Central of town The room
The ambiance and its central location
staff very pleasant and helpfull
The situation and accesssibility to the beaches etc. Both restaurant and bar snacks were good and very good value.
Very expensive drinks as everywhere in Ireland.
In Centre of Town Key cards faulty
The bed was comfortable. It was standard and we where expecting more from it.
The welcome was warm. We arrived at 10.30am, and although the official check-in time is 3pm, we were given a room straight away. The room was very comfortable. A little disappointed with the breakfast arrangements. There was no person to welcome and advise the procedure. After helping ourselves to fruit juice / cereal, we went to the hot food counter, where the tureens were behind glass, so you could not serve yourself. There was no-one there serving, though admittedly someone arrived very quickly afterwards. We were asked what we wanted, and served, and it was only then that we were asked if we wanted tea or coffee, which arrived at the table later. Toast was a do-it-yourself affair - it took a while for the bread to go through the machine - not too bad for us as there were not many at breakfast, but would maybe cause problems if the restaurant was full.
staff are pleasant and helpful food was exelent and inexpensive.
The breakfast was lovely! Our room was freezing when we arrived and we had to be changed to another one
Welcoming friendly, helpful staff
friendly staff, excellent food, comfortable & quiet rooms. well lovated for touring & mcilhenny's departmental store is a delight
the food was first class
the rooms where lovely .hugh hotel .lovely staff .had a great time. no pool .
The rooms were very spacious and bathroom was huge. The spa was one of the best we have every used. ANd above all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly Not really a problem, but the tv in the room was a bit small - but that was probably more noticeable because of the rooms being so big!
My Cousins Wedding!!! The Hotel was promoted as a Smoking Hotel and had only two smoking rooms which was awfuly and I din't much like the wooden floor look!! Also the window barely opened so it was very stuffy all the time !
My husband and I had a one night stay along with our son and daughter-in-law, in two rooms. Though not requested the rooms were adjacent, a nice touch. Ideally situated for Glenveagh Castle and rural Donegal, which was the purpose of our visit, as well as some retail therapy for the girls!! I would happily stay again at The Villa Rose, no complaints.
Restaurant food was lovely. Hotel staff very friendly. Bars cosy. Hotel very clean.
Hotel was absolutely beautiful, food fantastic and the room was a pleasure to stay in. Very friendly staff. Definitely will be back!! No, everything was excellent
Happy, warm, friendly staff. Can,t fault them at all.. Beer too dear down south..
I liked the mannerism and helpfulness of the staff at all times. The meal we were attending was excellent and the service A1 too. A lovely hotel all round. I was a bit put off by the brawls that appeared to happen later in the evening. I felt it most unfair no one suitable from the hotel was there to manage this and very disappointed that a young girl was left trying to deal with the matter in hand.
Everything went as expected, no nasty surprises. Staff were good and friendly, slow at reception though. good party athmosphere.
Our stay was too brief as we were attending an event in the hotel. But both the hotel and the staff met our expectations
good childrens menu and excellent staff
The hotel's lounge area is well set out to enable people to relax and enjoy the ambiance of the large hotel and room I was allocated was large and very comfortable.
The rooms or to small for the prices, you can hear orthers talking in the next room and out in the hall.
The assistance given to me by the receptionist when I had a problem obtaining a connection to the internet was excellent.
All staff were friendly and nothing was a problem. It was great to have use of all the leisure facilities included in the price of your stay.
the breakfast was lovely, also when we got the executive room the 3rd night, it was lovely the first 2 nights we stayed, the room was very small, bed was very small, particularly on the saturday night 24th March 2007, very very noisy on the corridoor outside room 228
staff friendliness. Excellent food though there were a number of bar staff, service was slow to order and to remove plates, empty glasses etc.
Location is excellent at the very heart of the town.
city centre location toilet out of order throughout stay
locality no extractor fan in bathroom
its convenient location No
handy town center lift out of order
Closeness to good restaurants. Noise from other guests till 3:00 am , starting again at 8:00 am. Phone call to night manager failed to resolve.
TV Remote control didn't work :-)
friendly staff and value. We stayed at the Rosapenny hotel the following night and they charged us €180! VERY average. Well Done!
The location was ideal right on the main street in town Lift was broken down and I was on the third floor
staff were friendly, location was good
the hotel in general was great all over
Nice rooms.Good location for access and a base for reaching surrounding county. Did not dine due to other commitments, but seemed to be lacking ambience.Breakfast seemed expensive.
We had a lovely time at the Station House the staff where very Friendly
The location was handy to the town centre but not to close that you could hear the noise at night.
The room was beautiful, the price was reasonable and the hotel and facilities were clean. The shower didn't drain properly and soaked the bathroom floor.
Modern, Clean and its accesability to the rest of the town Alarms going off in the middle of the night. My mother, Aunt etc were staying aswell and counldnt get bck to sleep as alarm had woken them (and it as ongoing) they were very unhappy in the morning
Staff were excellent. Very enjoyable stay. Lovely hotel.
Free internet connection, nice clean room The light went off a few times, although key card was in the right slot
I found the free internet a welcomed surprise, as many hotels charge for usage by the minute/hour. The staff were especially friendly and helpful and the food (breakfast and bar) was of a good standard. The 'secure car park' towards the back of the building didn't seem too secure. There may have been cctv but I'm not sure. The fact that it was free was a plus, but perhaps guests would be inclined to accept a small fee if it guaranteed the protection of their vehicles.
The bathroom No comfortable seating in the Bar to when watching sport on TV
the peace and cleanliness nothing
Excellent service and food None
The staff were very friendly. The room was excellant infact the whole house was very interesting
Some of the best food I have ever had in an absolutly stunning setting. Myself and my boyfriend can't wait to go back.
We found our stay to be friendly, luxurious, aesthetically pleasing and gourmet. The food was wonderful and Mary T and all the staff made us feel right at home in this very beautiful house. Lovely layers of history-luxurious and restored but not museum like, this is a great place to experience the aristocratic Ireland of yesteryear. Not one thing.
This hotel has a quiet relaxing charm. The staff are unobtrusive but there when required. The steak I had for dinner was second to none!
This hotel is set in the most beautiful area. The hotel itself was stunning, with beautiful rooms, reception and bedroom. The staff were also first class
This hotel provides an excellent venue for people wanting to get awy from it all for a few days We were surprised at the published cost for evening meal --we were able to eat elsewhere for 2 people at a cheaper cost than the hotel would have charged for one meal
The warm and welcoming atmosphere. Beautiful food. Very efficient and friendly staff. I liked everything.
Food was excellent and good value for money. Quiet a distance from town which was clear from info about hotel
The food was excellent,a great breakfast to set you on your way.The steak dinner is superb irish beef. n/a
everything, nothing i could complain about it at all
I particularly appreciated the kindness and hospitality shown me by all the staff at the Silver Tassie. My room was very comfortable with everything I needed. I will definitely be back and I will stay at your Hotel once again. Thank-you for everything. My experience was the best!
