Beautiful! Simply beautiful. This grand, family run hotel (built by Robert Adam Jr. in the 18th century) is a sight for sore eyes and a great place to rest weary heads! Naturally, the three acres of grounds on the edge of the picturesque market town of Strathaven will have you feeling relaxed in no time, but the BEST WESTERN Strathaven Hotel's convenient location makes sure you can enjoy the easy life even when you leave us for the day. A number of attractions and points of interest will leave you spoiled for choice, and constantly entertained. There's the Scottish Museum of Rural Life, The John Hastie Museum and the Low Waters Museum for culture vultures, and Strathclyde watersports and Country Park is ideal for those searching for a more active pastime. We welcome business and leisure guests with open arms... and a fresh-yet-traditional approach to meeting their needs. 24-hour porterage is available, and free Wi-Fi in every bedroom makes surfing a cinch. Enjoy your stay.
Relaxed atmosphere, good and varied menu.Excellent breakfast
Probably a little more attention during dinner service, although young waitress very pleasant.
Free wireless internet with no password required, cleanliness of the room, LCD TV with freeview channels and great breakfast.
The breakfast was very good.
Having to carry suitcases upstairs along numerous corridors and then downstairs again.Thick dust along edges of carpet in room and teabags made the tea taste horrible.
The staff were friendly
On arrival there were dinner plates on the side of the bed in my room. The sink plug were sticking down which when reported they openly knew about it as the reply I had was ''Room 5 again is it''. The food was of adequate price however for £18.00 for fillet steak that looks appertising but is extremely chewy then I feel they should visit other hotels in the area and sample the same food served . I feel the Dakota/ Bruce/ Alona/Moorings and many other hotels in the area have a far superior quality to them for on average the same price.Very disappointing
Friendly staff. Good value food, served well. Good bar. Great breakfast choice, including a very upmarket preserve.
Don't write to me as "Dear thurgood", it's downright rude. Cheap room fittings bely the beautiful building. Couldn't get the free WiFi that was offered in-room (22).
it was a very convenient location
the location of the room (11) , from ground level -upstairs along long corridor - down stairs along corridor why no direct access to ground level rooms
The whole ambiance
Food in restaurant, quiet location
The deep fried fruitcake for breakfast or whatever it was!
Creaky floors and paper thin walls !
