Excellent food The safe in the room didn't work
Beautiful, classic style of building. Good space. Nice (but not very large, pool. calm atmosphere, quite surroundings. Perhaps the staff was something aloof and withdrawn. Never in any way unpleasant, but a few more smiles would have been welcome.
Large comfortable lobby.Comfortable bed. There are no shelves or drawers, therefore clothes have to go on the floor. No Kleenex, lotions etc. Because a large group checked in, we were not allowed in the dinning room for dinner and had to go without food. Just not acceptable.
Everything was just perfect !!! 5*
It was quiet and close to the main attraction. It was attractively presented and nicely set away from the road. No facilities for making tea or coffee in the room.
In a beautiful settling next door to Wieliczka Salt Mine, this gem of a Hotel offers outstanding quality and value. We found the facilities, staff and food to be at the highest level and its location perfect for visiting the various highlights of this part of Poland by car, without the hassle of city driving. 3 minutes from the Hotel you can get a high frequency bus to the centre of Krakow for 75c (euro). We had no issues during our wonderful and memorable 5 day (Sun to Fri) stay in this Hotel in October 2009. No.
Very friendly and accommodating staff (with great English); delicious breakfast; close to Krakow (easy access); as close to Wieliczka Salt Mine as it gets; Although it was not an issue for us it seemed that there may be not enough parking spaces for all of the guests - it is possible there was an additional parking lot we didn't see. Otherwise we have only good things to say about Grand Sal Hotel and its staff.
Expert staff in every way, close to Krakow and all major places of interest.
Very friendly and professional staff, the standard of the hotel was superb for ****. Staff did everything to make our stay a pleasure (including allowing us take coctails to the jacuzzi:), organised tickets to the Salt Mine etc. Definitely the nicest hotel we've stayed in in Poland.
Is it really 'Hostel'? The standard of rooms, restaurant and staff were fab. Really Good value for money!
Good secure parking, free access to internet, nice room. Our room was on the first floor and in evening it was too noisy there.
In centre of city, walking distance from Salt Mine, guarded parking lot, friendly staff. Noisy street nearby. Everything else was fine! :)
Friendly and quite helpful staff. Good location. Reasonably good food.
Very friendly personell - was waiting for us arriving very late and greated us with great smile and attitude.
Hotel was very cosy and clean.
We visited the place during our trip to Krakow and Wielicka salt mines. The hotel is comfortable and clean. We liked our visit very much.
Good hotel outside of the Krakow. Easy to get to the Center 20 min by bus or rout taxi (each 15 min). We staied in late September and it was a bit humid in the room, because the heating was not swiched on yet.
excellent staff, room was nice with comfortable bed and breakfast was fresh every day (although a little more variety needed for those staying a few day) more signage required espeacially near railway. hilly area means very tiring walk back especially if you go during the summer as we did.
this hotel is of very good quality..give it a try...we stayed room 14 ..the viewsare rubbish but the hot is fine
Very nice and comfor hotel
A bit difficult to locate without SatNav, otherwise a good location about 20-30min outside of Krakovy. It is located in a residential area of small town outside of Krakovy and next to an unfinished building/extension. Breakfast hall was wonderful with attentive staff and room was pleasant with contemporary style - we reserved a double which was just right for our small family (2 children - 4yr old and 10 month old).
Great location (next to the Salt Mine). Breakfast was good with different types of cheese and fresh made eggs. Also, it's only 15 min away (by car) from Krakow city center. Parking was free of charge. The hotel was under renovation (expansion) and the workers started at 8am (hammering the walls and with smell of d construction dust). No one mentioned about that in the website of the hotel. No air-conditioning and the room was close to the road.
Convenient location. Polite staff. Good restaurant. The room is warm (in autumn). Towels has been change every day only after special request. Broken equipment (lamp-bracket, the door of shower cubicle, the light sensor) in bathroom.
Very nice room, -big and comfortable I did not read (-roompaper, guidesign, restaurentmenu) or hear any english word
Yes towels must be changed regularly
hotel staff quality
Good location, close to the salt mine and regional transport possibilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking place was in a terrible condition. Dinner quality and quantity was poor.
the location to the salt mine -a narrow triangle room-
The hotel appears to be a converted country manor house closely located to the town of Mszana Dolna. The room was spacious and quite comfortable. Some staff could speak English and I was made very welcome. Because there was a function on on my date of arrival and a subsequent date of my stay the staff went out of their way to reserve a parking place in the main courtyard next to reception which was very thoughtful and appreciated. The restuarant for dinner is a walk away across the courtyard and is used for various other functions. On one night a wedding took place and there was partying going on in the courtyard until 4 am. Unfortunately my room overlooked the courtyard so sleep was difficult. Perhaps the hotel should try to ensure that hotel guests not involved with functions are booked on the other side of the hotel.
the place is undergoing a major renovation. although not warned of this when booking our stay was pleasant with a good room. we were upgraded to a large room. dinner was in a temporary but pleasant (bar?) area as main restaurant was closed due to the renovations. food was good polish cuisine. we enjoyed it & had the place virtually to ourselves rather chilly in all areas & only 2 TV channels , both in polish. we were told this was temporary due to renovations. no lift. quite tricky to find. Should be a fine place to stay when the refurbishment is complete
This was a fabulous stay. The surroundings were amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them The breakfast was adequate but not particularly spectacular.
Superb location for Salt Mines. Lovely swimming pool
The staff at the hotel and restaurant was very friendly and most important helpful in some personal situations. The hotel like most of the hotels in Poland has not small room fridge and electric ketle to make coffe ot tee when you like to do so.Also the bathrooms has too small shelf to put any toileteries during shaving.
nice staff, a little small room for a double room. There was wery little place and the bed was opened from one side only (double bed put in corner !!!)
Good hotel close to salt mine.
Staff were excellent and spoke very good english tricky to find due to ongoing roadworks
the hotel was clean the food was o k and the staff helpful & freindly. the only trouble is the hotel is to far away from anywhere unless you have a car.
The Hotel Twardowski was a real disappointment, on arrival we struggled to check in due to the differance in our languages however this was not a big problem as we used the translator on my Ipod. Once shown to our room it was freezing as the heating was not working dispite several requests for heating to be switched on this was not possible, we were then shown to another room which was even colder as the window was wide open so we had to go back to our original room. We left them fixing the heating and went to the Riverside Restaurant to eat which was the worst meal of our life. On our return to our hotel the heating was working so we settled in, the bed was horrendous and the supplied towels were like flannels. Overall a poor hotel
