convienient central n/a
No one offered to carry up my bags, I did not ask.
The food was excellent and very good prices, nice size room car park a little small, a little more care with cleaning would be good, but this would not stop us staying again.
Friendly staff, great feel. Close to centre of town. Good food and drink. Room was a little grubby (peeling paint on ceiling, large crack around base of shower, broken guards round radiators.
room was not clean, old firniture, bed was not comfortable, light in the room was not enough, and room was smelly.
friendly staff it was tired and in need of refurbishment
Very nice hotel, very friendly and helpful staff (front desk and breakfast waitress in particular). Great breakfast. Great value for money, would definitely return.
Friendly staff Disappointed with the cooked breakfast
The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very well appointed and very clean with a good supply of hot water. The breakfast was excellent and the service was good too. Also I found the parking arrangements most suitable. I could not fault the hotel, staff or facilities.
Rooms very dated and very cold bar area seats dirty and ripped restaurant too cold to eat in
a free beer needs more carparking
The friendly attitude from both reception and bar staff The bed had a big dip in the middle
Only stayed one night. Were offered a free drink each in the bar, but it was too noisy for us. The bedroom could not be desribed as spacious - definitely small. There was no suitcase stand and nowhere to put one. Had to go outside to get to the restaurant. OK in dry weather, but not so good in cold, wet weather. People were smoking at the bar while we had breakfast. One young lady was very pleasant and seemed to be working very hard keeping up with the breakfast trade.
Good location, very friendly staff, great value for money.
easy access to town centre reception seemed to be closed alot of the time
The location was excellent for the town of Yeovil. Just one street away from all the major shops and sights. The room was up 36 steps (no lift), it was very shabby and the curtains did not close properly. The bed was unbearably creaky and uncomfortable. We had to go and buy toilet paper!
Hotel was fine, situation was perfect, the food in the restaurant was fine, hugh portions, breakfast grear No
Friendly staff and a central location.
Central location, excellent breakfast, friendly staff
Food was good quality Paid more booking on line than the advertised price at the hotel. Room was very basic and small when I found the hotel via yell.com the contact number was wrong so I could only book on line with yell
hotel was clean and in good order.staff friendly. small room
Nice room and bathroom, friendly staff
Very good room - comfortable and well presented. Lunch was excellent! The continental Breakfast was poor - no choice - not in keeping withn the rest of the Green Room
The room was clean very modern and the shower was one ofthe best i have used, the staff were friendly courteous & polite The only thing that i would say is regarding the continental breakfast i felt as if the quantity of what i ate was being monitored somewhat felt discouraged from eating everything that i may have wanted, although the breakfast itself was great with a choice of home made museli, croissants, & pain au chocolat, cereals & yoghurt
Excellent shower pressure and town centre location very long loud and noisy council bin collection during the night/very early morning
There was a generally good vibe about the place. Very pretty It didn't have a full length mirror! Essential.
quiet good eating place parking and getting around to the front door hard beds
Good TV, free WiFi, hot chocolate sachets & biscuits as well as tea & coffee provided in the room, excellent evening meal in nice dining room/bar, nice continental breakfast with home-made muesli. Friendly & welcoming staff. Felt fine as woman on my own. Room quite small, nice big powerful shower but no bath, single bed, quite hard mattress.
Single room small but very well fitted and immaculate. Fine for one or two nights. Excellent continental breakfast with fresh fruit salad.
Easy access thro rear door to car park for bringing in luggage.Good choice on menu. Decent wine list for matching the food on offer. Very helpful staff (googled a destination for me and printed off a copy). No complaints.
Food and welcome good location excellent Room was small and very hot
A very convenient welcoming & picturesque hotel
The location was peaceful, staff were excellent and the evening meal was amazing. The owner had only been there 6 weeks and was clearly taking stock and planning what needs to be improved moving forward. NA
Room was very good, staff very friendly and breakfast was excellent. would have no hesitation in recommending this pub to anybody. everything good.
Friendly staff and the new landlord (only 5 weeks) is obviously working hard to improve the standard of this Inn. The food was excellent with a good choice, service was good and we felt that we had value for money. As there is going to be some refurbishment we will be interested to visit again in a year's time.
Hotel was excellent and the staff and owner were very professional and friendly. There is room for refurbishment of some areas and the very recent new owner is very aware of this and knows what is required to make this into an exceptional place to stay. We loved it and will definitely return
Friendly, choice of real ales! It did not have broadband access or DVD player in room
The friendly atmosphere, good beer and food. Lots of extras in the room and the honesty bar is very sweet!!! Rooms a little to warm (could be my age) road sign from Shaftsbury covered in folage, could not see in the dark and drove past.
Staff very attentive, and good atmosphere
It is located in a nice country village with no disturbances at night and it was convenient for the Dorset Steam Fayre. N/A
Proprietor and staff were very attentive. Very good breakfast. Motel style room and the back of the Inn showed its age. Could do with better decor. However, I would stay again.
Very convenient location, food lovely My room was cold and I could not get the radiator to turn on.
We were attending a wedding in the village so the location was ideal. Also the breakfast was good - nothing stunning, but had choice of cereals, toast and also cooked option. Bed was very lumpy and the water pressure in the shower and toilet wasn't great....I think it depended on how many people were using other bathrooms at the time.
the friendlyness of the staff and the rural location the near by houses which seem to let their dogs bark forever in their gardens
very friendly staff and a busy little bar, service in the evening was excellent despite the large party in for a function. nice local crowd, basically down to earth excellent pub with hotel side. the rooms were excellent and the heating had been put on for arrival. can be busy in evening therefore if your looking for peace and quite may not be your first choice. ask youself why they are busy?
Freindly and helpful staff. Beautiful rooms and good location Nothing
The food was good
Good choice value and quality in the resteraunt, And nice pub enviroment. Lack of Table Lamps in the room, The main lighting was very harsh and tended to give you headache after a couple of hours.
too much butter used in cookin the breakfast.
clean, staff were friendly , food was excellent
the staff were very friendly and helpful. this hotel is far more welcoming than many i have stayed at.
The split level room gave great views over Somerset. The breakfasts were great. The pond atrracted some intesting characters on Sunday morning. The location is great to visit National trust properties.
The quietness of the accommodation in a chalet in the garden away from the noise of the pub or road Restaurant service could have been better but maybe they were short-staffed so used plates were not cleared at dinner or at breakfast. We waited 20 mins after main course but were not asked if we wanted a dessert, so returned to our room
Friendliness of proprieter his family and staff.
The building work has turned the exterior of the hotel into a building site.
A beautiful, quiet, friendly old pub. Staff was welcoming. Food was excellent. Our family ensuite was lovely. Comfortable beds, crisp sheets, big fluffy towels, even a cafetiere for our coffee! Plenty of footpaths for walking our dog. Can't think of one!
Good service, good food and drink, good atmospere in bar/restaurant. Central heating in room was not working but an electric radiator was included and the room temperature was ok. The electric shower did not function correctly and was either too hot or luke warm. Both were reported on checking out.
Large comfy rooms, great staff (Patrick and Claire are amazing hosts),Great food, beautiful village, dog friendly Leaving!
Wonderful location, beautiful Building and Bar. Excellent quality Breakfast, perhaps the best that I have ever had. Quiet and Friendly. Our Toilet was noisy, making a Shredding sound every hour or so. Breakfast service was slightly slow.
Excellent food, lovely room.
It really is a c15 inn as advertised! Lovely atmosphere in bar, food superb, though service a bit slow on last night (table booked for 8pm, main course not brought till gone 9. Didn't expect to be served breakfast by the Head Chef on first morning! Very clean and tidy throughout. Bowl of mini chocolate Easter eggs in bar a very moorish touch. Hobgoblin and Black Sheep on draught - cider didn't stand a chance! Leaflet in room with history of East Coker and 2 very easy 4mile walks - did them both. Masher thing on loo a bit noisy.
