Pros: Ansa & David are great people who are very passionate about their guesthouse and their farming business. The room was super tidy and in great condition. We went on Safari in their own Safari vehicle with guide Rogé, a guy with a good sense of humor and good knowledge about the Addo park and it's Elephants. Would recommend anyone to stay at the Silo's!

The professionalism and efficiency in which they look after their guests is wonderful! The game drive with Roche, was equally as awesome , he is incredibly knowledgeable and funny and made our game drive extra special Do yourself a favor and check in at the Silos sometime, you won’t regret it!!

7.1 Good
Pros: Great location and atmosphere. The staff are great and doing their best to give the guests the best experience
Cons: Too pricey, for this price we expected prestige experience We didnt have hot water in the shower
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Food was excellent, accommodations comfortable and views incredible.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: True luxury glamping experience with some of best views I have ever seen. Gorgeous bathtub and shower with views to the mountain, comfortable and luxurious bed, large balcony for relaxing alone. Property has a pool and lounge area, food in restaurant was excellent. Close drive to Addo. Staff was very friendly and nice, especially in the restaurant. I do recommend arriving in daytime, as the road is long and bumpy, we arrived in the dark and it was not the most pleasant.
Cons: - Did not receive the warmest welcome when we arrived later in evening - Felt pressured to dine in restaurant for every meal - Rooms chilly in evening in winter, however when we told staff they made an extra effort to bring an extra heater and blanket.

7.9 Good
Pros: Very nice place to stay and great food, the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Paths around could do with an upgrade with better lighting. Internet to rooms would be great as that’s where we want to use it rather than in the dining area.

Pros: Perfectly positioned with beautiful views; rooms are well appointed.
Cons: Some of the staff are a bit overly familiar, even though the service is generally excellent.
7.9 Good

Pros: The breakfast was great with a fruit salad and eggs. The area especially the garden was really nice. The river and the possibility to kayak was great.
Cons: The location by the river was nice, but there was nothing around (shops etc.), the drive on the road to get there was a bit annoying. The internet was slow. The bathroom was overall clean but it could use a deeper cleaning.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The lodge is situated beautifully next to the river. We could relax in the garden with nice flowers, many birds and monkeys. The breakfast and also the dinner which we booked seperately were really great.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: all off it

6.0 Good
Pros: A pearl in the wilderness
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The room and beautiful view, the wonderful staff, the amazing setting, the fact that our room was huge and pre stocked with water, coffee and home made cakes. And the amazing breakfast!! I highly recommend this place as a quite getaway.
Cons: Really everything was wonderful. My only real comment would be about the dinner. It was 300R per person which is quite pricy, it's served within a beautiful setting we even had the fire on and includes as many drinks as you would like. That being said we felt the food itself wasn't very exciting and a bit on the small side ( in terms of portions). We enjoyed ourselves but felt they can step it up a bit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We will be back! THANK YOU
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here a few nights to enjoy the Addo elephant park. The place is very nice and ´in the middle of nowhere´. Which for us was a plus. We loved waking up to the sound of monkeys playing on the roof.
Cons: The menu that is offered is great, but if you´re not in the mood for a romantic 3 course diner, there are very little options.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is remote and the room was very nice.
Cons: The Jacuzzi could not been used. Water was dirty and it was full of insects and spiders
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Luxurious cottages and a delicious meal. Just wished we could have stayed longer!
Cons: Nothing

Cons: N/A
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The general ambience which is backed up by beautifully maintained gardens. The accommodation is understated luxury. The staff are exceptional. The breakfast is excellent and the separate restaurant on the property that essentially serves residents only is of a high standard and serves varying fixed menus with good quality food.
Cons: There is nothing not to like, but note that there is not TV in the rooms. Not that you need this though as the place lends itself to being a retreat from the day to day humdrum.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extra service like free car wash was very pleasant.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Large room with great bedding and beautiful gardens
Cons: No tv in the room
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful garden with relaxing atmosphere. Very tasteful and traditional accomodation. Excellent Breakfast, except for the coffee. Nice dinner at the eatery in the garden. Cosy place to sit and talk around a fire in the garden.
Cons: The breakfast-package for the early morning Addo parc visit was inadequate. To get an early insight of a map of the parc would be convenient. No fridge in the room. Two dogs were free range in the garden and the bigger one barked at me when I had to pass him.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was lovely, especially the host. We felt very welcomed. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and lovely decorated.
Cons: The Eatery has really good food, they serve 3 dishes but only beef. The vegetarian options could be better.

We can only recommend this place and would be happy to come back at sometime. Everyone was extremely nice and lovely and read every wish from our lips.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location, little touches such as branded bird feeding station by breakfast, bathtub, breakfast was fabulous, good service on game drive, beautiful lounge areas and library, good view
Cons: I am so sorry for this review and feeling like this....but the lodge was extremely poor value for money - for this price in you can get a lodge, 2 game drives and full board, here the feeling was the lodge focused more on making money, you felt that everything was a business decision (shampoo chargeable, nothing included - rare when you stay in a reserve in SA...) Staff with one notable exception
10.0 Excellent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely rooms and beautiful site! The staff were all incredibly helpful! The tour organised by the hotel to Addo Elephant Park was wonderful - highly recommend!
Cons: Nothing!
7.1 Good
Pros: Farm is nearby Addo park. The farm area itself is also very well maintained and looks nice.
Cons: The self catering cottage is in need of a renovation. We also recommend to make braai packages available, as they are difficult to get in the area. While we were looking forward to use the braai we weren't able to do so. Eating on site is OK, but expensive as compared to other hotels we stayed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Self catering room was spacious, modern, clean with everything you might need. Staff were very friendly from the moment we booked!
Cons: Was perfect!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staff and very delicious food
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for 2 nights in the middle of October. We were using it as a base to visit the Addo elephant park which is a short drive away. Our lodge was at the front of the property near the water, a lovely setting with birds all around. The main room was large with a kitchen area. It was clean and very comfortable with parking outside the door. We had chosen a room only price but still had one breakfast and one dinner during our stay, both of which were good but not cheap. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and even printed our boarding cards for the trip home. There is a pool which we tried but still a bit chilly at this time. The whole area is citrus farms which makes a lovely setting
7.5 Good
Cons: Dinner and breakfast too expensive
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room was pleasant. Bathroom was very nice.
Cons: The lack of room Wifi was disappointing. Nothing is within walking distance from the premesis. Price was too high for our opinion.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very very nice and the apartment very clean. Also they cook everything by themselves and it is very fresh and delicious (fits also the European taste and you can try some African taste if you like). We did the tour to the national park which is arranged by the Old drift and it was amazing as well ! The ranger was so nice and patient by showing us all the animals in Addo. We had an amazing stay and we can highly recommend it. Great start or end of the garden route.
Cons: Addo is the only “thing” you can do in this area. We stayed two nights and went two times to Addo (one time with the ranger and one time on our own) - it was a lovely stay but two nights were enough due to the less activities to do.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Cons: Adjoining (?) property behind the dining room looks ugly/untidy like a big construction zone.

Pros: We had an absolutely fabulous time at River Bend Lodge. I highly recommend this wonderful place - our accommodation even had a view over a watering hole where a turtle, warthogs, ostriches, baboons, zebras and a whole herd of elephants came visiting. Loved the outdoor shower. Wonderfully friendly, competent and welcoming staff. We loved it so much, we stayed an extra night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a great experience! We were very well received by the manager Wayne and were fortunate to have the Lodge to ourselves all weekend! We were the only guests !! We did the safari with our friend Noma the Ranger, great company and explained us a lot about the park and the animals! Was very good! Excellent room, spotless breakfast and dinner and first-rate service! We recommend and will certainly be back in the summer!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great house and gardens and bedrooms
Cons: Nothing
7.1 Good
Pros: The food was delicious. The staff were friendly. Excellent location.
Cons: Rooms were fairly small and modest. TV in room did not work. Wifi did not work 50 per cent of the time. After booking I was told the spa therapist was on annual leave - a major reason I had booked at the lodge in the first place. Room took a long time to warm up - we were uncomfortably cold. Had to flush the toilet twice. Not luxury accommodation at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Excellent view from room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the beginning till the very end! The staff are literally 10/10, they can’t do enough for you. Our room was cleaned multiple times a day. The food was also incredible! This is by far the best place I have stayed! Watching the wildlife around you as you eat is something so surreal! As for the game drives and location I couldn’t speak any higher! This was all undoubtedly the best experience of my life! Our driver Darlington has so much knowledge of the park and the wildlife in the park he made the drives so much fun! I will definitely be returning in the near future to Riverbend and will recommend them to everyone!
Cons: I couldn’t say a bad word about Riverbend. This was luxurious, fun, adventurous, relaxing all in one!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First of all the service is absolutely amazing, You are treated like royalty. Food is good, and the room is big and well equipped. Then there were the game drives. Our guide was super nice and helpful and knowledgeable. We saw some really amazing things there. We travelled with children, a 1 year old and a 4 year old, and we had the best time there.
Cons: It’s really expensive...
10.0 Excellent

Debbie, the manager is just a Lovely person that make we feel like that we are at home For sure this will life memories for me, my wife Luise and our young Boy Noah❤️

Pros: Amazing hosts, very good Dinner and Breakfast and a "feel at home" atmosphere. The Addo NP is really just a few minutes away and you get good recommendations. We especially loved the part of Addo right at the coast (Pearson Private Reserve)!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Alison and her family are very nice. They care about us and make is very comfortable. You can see zebras around the house. My lodge was really great... hot water in shower. A lot of cute dogs to welcome us... I really loved that smart and easygoing "babies". I thing the dogs was what I liked the most. Alison offers tour services... a little expensive for me but I am sure they can offer such a nice experience to you. Great breakfast.
Cons: No internet in the lodge just in the house.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Kudu Ridge is such a nice place to stay. Everything was just great: the food, the atmosphere, the surrounding, the people. We had a great time and the game drive in Addo with Alex was amazing - he's very nice and caring and has a very good knowledge about the animals, the nature etc. Also Brian and his wife were so nice and relaxed! Thank you so much guys! Christian & Jasmin
Cons: Everything was perfect. Nothing to complain about!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location to walk around the lodge and see some wild life. Also the 15 minute drive to Addo game park is really well situated. The setup of the lodge with the dinning area and open fire in the evening was lovely.
Cons: How to fined out when the hot water was running. Once you know this the showering was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Was a lovely holiday and the owners are great people. We will definitely be there again and soon.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Revisiting home from home..
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff / hosts were friendly. The game drive with Alex was very very good. This was definitely the highlight of our stay there. The place is nicely located near the Addo Elephant park. Food was good.
Cons: Very basic rooms. Especially the beds could be renewed and some hooks to hang clothes would be good as well. There was nothing to put your stuff on besides the beds and a little table. Bathroom smelled a bit. You hear your neighbors very well.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is such a tranquil location. We just loved the old Cape Dutch building. The family room is huge! Beautiful gardens and peaceful farm surroundings. The breakfast is great - especially accompanied by Sonja's captivating laughter! The "hobbitt" houses are so unique and give the most interesting pics! I enjoyed the colour changing pool and sunset at the lapa. We can certainly recommend Stellenhoff and the game drive to the Addo. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable! Thank you very much!
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely garden, ancient trees and lots of flowers. Totally adapted for families with young children. Pool is nice too. Spacious room well decorated, Pretty close to Addo main gate (20 mns drive). Nice facilities. No restaurant available but nice options just a few minutes away
Cons: - Very discrete management, one sometimes feel completely alone in the hotel especially at night. Staff a bit too relaxed as a result (in the dung beetle: bins not emptied during 3 nights stay, some ants in the bed...) - Temporary comment but the main building was still being renovated while we were here, adds a bit of noise during the morning and not very customer friendly when you sleep in between. Hopefully the result looks lovely when finished. - Very dirty neighborhood and road, while this is not the farm’s responsibility this is not so charming when we go out.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The place is much more beautiful than I thought based on the photos. Very lush green big garden, like a little piece of Thailand in middle of the drought :) the cottage is also bigger than we expected, quite basic but still comfortable. The bed was really comfy. Such a nice staff, especially Sonja made our day with her funny jokes and tasty breakfast
Cons: There was no Wi-Fi connection in the cottage, only in the pool area, but that can be a positive thing as well. The bathroom is maybe a bit out to date but perfectly sufficient for couple of nights.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: My boyfriend and I loved to spend time at Stellenhof farm: it is so quite, really the perfect place to rest. We wanted to do a safari in Addo (it just take 20 minutes to get there) and Steff organized it for us. We had a ranger - Niky - for the whole day, driving through Addo Elephant Park and telling us so many interesting things about its animals. He even grilled for us in the afternoon! I would absolutely recommand the place, surrounded by nature.
Cons: everything was good!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We loved the earthpod houses, the gardens and staff. The game drive was awesome, Luke is a fab guide.
Cons: It is not the fault of Stellenhof but the public dirt road is poor.

Pros: Very cute farm with a very friendly owners! Had a pleasant stay and nice breakfast. The units are isolated from each other. Less than 10 minutes drive from Addo. The owner even gave us a map with recommendations at the breakfast.
Cons: The dung beetle unit didn't have a door between the sleeping area and the bathroom. I little bit tricky to find, and requires driving trough a dirt road, but nothing that Google Maps & Toyota Corolla couldn't handle.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Truly a very nice location situated near the Addo National Park. Family-like hospitality and everybody is very caring. Rod is a really good private park ranger and his tours are highly recommended. Also the Food served is very tasty and of good quality, especially the optional dinner.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The "bush" feel of the cabin, the rustic decor and setting. It was double gated at night, and the remote we had worked perfectly. The view was nice. It was nice to eat breakfast outside and look out over the orchard.
Cons: Very large spiders in the bathroom (outdoor facility). Stairs up to the room were a little rickety, and therefore tricky in the dark or for nighttime bathroom trips.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice experience in the bush cabins and the barbecue was with our hosts was great.

Pros: The accommodation was well appointed and breakfast the next morning was very good! The proximity to the Addo Elephant Park makes it a great destination for anyway visiting the area with an interest in visiting the park.

Pros: The property is off the main road in a quiet area not very far from the nearby restaurants & Addo Elephant NP. The rooms were clean & spacious and had security alarms. As the rooms had the orchards behind them we could smell the citrus blossoms in the air. Lovely The breakfast was awesome! But most importantly the hosts were just such wonderful people. Looked our conversations.

Pros: We stayed here 2 nights and had a fabulous stay, we can’t thank Peter, Liz and Suzette enough for there fantastic hospitality during our stay. It was excellent value for money, the common room is very comfortable as are the beds in the rooms which were nice and clean. The breakfast was excellent each morning, especially the homemade bread and jams. The biggest thanks must go to Shaun our driver and guide for the day on safari. We saw so many animals and he is so knowledgable about all of them from elephants down to dung beetle. We had such a good day, out for about 9 hrs with a picnic stop we can’t recommend it enough, far, far better than driving ourselves. We ate out at two local bars each evening but you need a car for the short drive.
Cons: They could do with some new towels

Cons: Mattrass is in need of replacement. We asked if the receptionist could book us a tour for the Addo Elephant National Park. It would be nice to know in advance that charges are applicable.

The food was excellent and catered to our taste. Would definitely recommend worth a look at if looking for good accommodation in the area.
