Dining at the Lodge was excellent. Quiet, clean, relaxing and fresh snow.
I was treated as a special guest from the moment I arrived. Madison, at the front desk, upgraded me to a loft suite and arranged it so I did not have to change rooms (as I expected I would because I had screwed up my travel plans). She was friendly, cheerful and pleasant. Rory, our shuttle driver, picked us up and hauled us to Hola restaurant and back with good humor and grace (even when some of our group had had a few drinks and became boisterous). Larry, who served me in Carson's restaurant for breakfast was attentive without hovering; I felt well served. All in all, a great stay in a wonderful room in a truly lovely area.
My boyfriend and I (and our dog) had a lot of fun at this resort. It was Memorial Day weekend, so it was pretty crowded with people, including the spa, but nevertheless, we did have a relaxing time. The bed was very comfortable and I wanted to sleep forever. Unfortunately, it seems like there could be some billing issues that we will have to deal with, because they charged us our deposit twice. Hopefully it does not retroactively ruin my visit there. Also, after I visited the spa, they tried to deny the coupon that the hotel distributed at checkout. Weird, and it made me feel really uncomfortable to have to push the issue in my relaxed state.
Only after booking on Kayak, received confirmation email that informed of 15% "resort fee" + 1% tax. Upon checkin was charged 15% + 9% tax, and was told by registration desk to take it up with Kayak. Seriously, 24% extra in hidden fees and even misinformation on total cost in confirmation email? This is misrepresentation and I should be refunded these fees.
