9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great facilities for kids, splash pool great. Staff were very attentive. Couldn’t fault a thing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It's a really beautiful place to stay...the grounds are great and the staff are brilliant. I would highly recommend the horse riding.
Cons: Although a really beautiful hotel, I don't feel it catered well for the age group of my sons ...14 & 10..particularly as I was travelling alone with them. You need to be over 12 to use the main pool outside of 'family time' and over 16 to be considered adult enough to be unsupervised. My children were too old really for the kids pool because it was full of much younger (and louder) children. It is a great place for the very young but the kids pool was too hot, noisy and full for any of us. Most of the childrens 'club' activities were aimed at the very young too. Once you have visited the equestrian centre, booked in for shooting (if thats your thing) and braved the zipline...your tween choices are limited. Even the high ropes required a parent to accompany under 16. All in all, I felt this was a great place for younger children..of which there were many. Breakfast was also incredibly noisy as a result and the food served was tasty but lukewarm alas....like the coffee!!
5.4 Okay
Pros: I like the hotel as the building and the spa with kids pool.
Cons: I don’t feel I’m in Four seasons , some staff not friendly as I know about four seasons staffs . I don’t like the Menue of the food. Even when I order some food from room service for my kids , they delayed it for 2 hours then when we called them they said sorry we didn’t take the room number when we got the order! We are in 2019 and they said we didn’t take your room number ! Are they still using old system ? And when we wake up they said your beak fast free ! They get us food on 10 minutes as they got us the food from the buffet not fresh ! Really I never feel that it’s Fourseasons services.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really recommend for families, my son was so happy, he had a bed with safety sides as he is 3 only . He had a bath rob and small cute slippers with a welcome cake and toy. The food was great I think this place need more than I night for sure.
Cons: No thing
9.2 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything the staff were really good they arranged us a treat to celebrate our wedding anniversary And when they knew that I am pregnant they offered me a pregnancy pillow and they offered us a late check out... The stay was really worth it
Cons: Nothing I wish we could have stayed more but it was fully booked
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff and facilities were great - however we were quite surprised in the evening at 8:30 there were so many kids in at the bar in the evening. ISurpised there wasn’t a separate area for kids in the evening .
Cons: The lack of adult space in the evening

Pros: We stay every year for the races. Staff / owners are fantastic polite and very funny. Look forward to many more years staying at this hotel. Shanes crew
Cons: All fantastic not one thing wrong at this guest house
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Good breakfast, the lady who cooked was an excellent cook.
Cons: Our room was advertised as having a garden view, this was not the case, we had a car park veiw. Very small double room with only one bedside table but was informed by the owner that this apparently meets the AA four star standard. Shower room clean but the shower itself was tired and in need of maintenance, descaling is required to meet the current legislation for legionella control, as is the hot and cold temperatures. There were no indication on the loose shower valve as to which way was hot and which way was cold so could potentially be a health risk. No shower nozzle adjustment was available possibly through heavy scaling, I believe this was a vertically installed head on a 15 mm down pipe with a ball and socket swivel joint that did not swivel! As the valve adjustment failed to work efficiently this made it difficult to get out of the water spray in the small shower cubicle without exiting in a panic situation. Was informed by the owner that this will be looked at.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely helpful owners. Comfortable room, very convenient parking
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great check in service, great location, comfy room, lovely breakfast
Cons: Bed a bit lumpy but thats really minor.

Cons: The weather!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location for The Mill perfect, didn't have breakfast
Cons: TV perhaps on the wrong wall
5.4 Okay
Pros: The hotel is nice, great location and brilliant breakfast served by excellent staff. Check in/out was easy and parking was great. .
Cons: I mentioned this morning that my room was very hot and the TV was so old it made a noise when off (it had to be switched off at the plug)....the remote was also on its last legs. The receptionist didn't really seem that bothered. Left the hotel thinking I'd try somewhere else next time
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location on river Bed was comfy
Cons: Apparently they tell you in their direct email that you have to book breakfast and aren't guaranteed to be served breakfast as they're two seperate businesses - as I booked through booking.com these details passed me by and we were turned away for breakfast the next day despite the fact the bar/eating area is in the same - never in all my days have I booked into a hotel/inn and not been able to have breakfast - manager just fell back on it being in an email - I explained how busy people wouldn't register something like that given the expectation of breakfast in any normal hotel/inn and that this should have been made very clear on check in so we could have booked. In the end we were accepted 15 minutes later having made a fuss but just so bizarre and unnecessary. At dinner the night before the service was also pretty awful -we waited 15 minutes before anyone took a drinks order, the steaks were overcooked and the wrong wine was brought to the table. In need of some serious customer service training.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Did not have breakfast. Location of the hotel was marvellous. All staff were very good. Attached restaurant was good but not able to add to the room. Room very very proportioned and clean.
Cons: There wasn't anything that I didn't like, maybe the communal hallways were a little tired but nothing to complain about.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was fantastic. We had the family suite which was huge and had a lovely private kids room. Games were provided so our daughter had a great time!
Cons: It’s a shame there’s no room service from the restaurant. The restaurant is also very expensive
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed is so comfy
Cons: Parking is a major problem. Paying guests should have priority.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely well furnished, comfortable rooms to a very high standard. Check in/out friendly and efficient. Beautiful setting on Thames. In the small village of Sonning, not many facilities but another great restaurant within walking distance across the bridge.
Cons: The attached restaurant, where food was very good, and breakfast, will not charge food to your room. So you end up with a bitty bill with lots of transactions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was PERFECT!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent attention by staff and very good food
Cons: Visitor information in bedroom

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Always a delight to stay at the vineyard
8.8 Excellent
Pros: 4 pairs of couples for a Sunday Lunch and evening stay Suites very comfortable and well equipped Food of very good quality and serving staff very helpful and accommodated dietary requirements very competently In particular Young sommelier Maxim was excellent and very informative and attentive with all our party - Spa and pool facilities very good and certainly we will return.
Cons: Generally very pleasant staff but bar / restaurant area very young and somewhat lacking in good management direction - hot drinks in particular were very slow and not very attentive and when challenged about the speed the response was "did I want to have rushed service" !! At morning breakfast was excellent but 3 of the 8 requested porridge instead of cold cereals and cooked breakfast - nonsensically they were planning to serve all at the same time so cooked breakfast would be cold - and again slow in bringing additional coffee
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The staff are amazing, they cannot do enough for you from the minute you arrive! John greeted us at the car and made us feel instantly welcome! Check in was so easy and we did not want for anything for our entire stay, the suite was beautiful and so comfortable! Lots of lovely nice touches like large fluffy robes! Great products and we had champagne on ice which was perfectly timed! We felt very relaxed and were lucky to have a beautiful sunny weekend which meant we could have the French doors open to the lovely garden! We made the most of our stay and had dinner and drinks, starting in the bar for pre drinks which were a accompanied by some very tasty unique appetizers, like baby raddish on ice! The food in the restaurant never fails to impress us, from the amuse bouche and freshly baked bread, to the absolutely stunning courses, we were blown away!! What really makes the Vineyard so different and so special is the teams knowledge of the menu, they know their wines and food with impeccable attention to detail! After a long day we were ready for bed and were kindly offered the option to have dessert brought to our room, where we had a very restful nights sleep. In the morning we enjoyed an hour relaxing in the stunning spa, they have fresh towels and water on every bed, the pool had aqua jets, theirs a hot tub and various steam/sauna rooms. We loved the breakfast options, something for everyone and excellent quality, I literally could not eat any more but wanted to! Service was impeccable again, I could go on and on. We genuinely love it here, they even offer you a cold bottle of water on check out for your journey home, just really nice fine touches to make your stay feel special! Would highly recommend!
Cons: Not even a complaint as loved everything, more of a suggestion, coasters in the room would be really good as I felt bad when my drink left a glass mark!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spa was wonderful, dinner with paired wines was delicious
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, understated atmosphere and fantastic wine list
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First class all the way, from checking in, light lunch, spa, the room, everything really. The staff were exceptional, we never met any member of staff who didn’t have a smile and cheery word. The pool area made us feel very relaxed and warm on a rainy dull day. Dinner was delicious and the wine choices were amazing. Came home completely relaxed and felt we had been away longer then 24 hours.
Cons: Some inconsistencies of staff in the spa area but I liked the treatment rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding customer service and facilities. Could not fault!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Booked this for my parents as a birthday treat for mum. They visited Highclere castle (Downton Abbey) during the day and the location of the hotel was perfect for this. Parents loved the room, said the food and wine were superb and the staff were delightful. Thoroughly recommended.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything else
Cons: Overly expensive meals and wine

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. This hotel has 7 meeting rooms available for events. 6.7 Good
Cons: The service from the waiter during the evening meal could have been quicker and more attentive. After a 15 min wait, had to ask the waiter If he forgotten us, as other diners who arrived after us were being seen to before us. Also the table wobbled, and didn’t get addressed by the waiter. Finally, the wine arrived mid way through the main course. The food however was lovely once it arrived.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent English Breakfast and beautiful, quiet location. The staff is super friendly and the pictures on booking.com actually match the rooms and grounds.
6.7 Good
Pros: One female member of bat staff in the evening could not do enough and was simply fantastic even taking me to the library for a book as I had forgotten mine and the reception team in the morning were also good. Room was clean and well presented. Toiletries delightful and in room entertainment perfect for a quiet night in so long as you know how to chrome cast from your phone and have your own subscriptions.
Cons: There was a green led light in the ceiling that is brighter than my daughters nightlight! I thought it was the smoke alarm but I’m closer inspection in the morning could not see any function for it apart from disturbing my sleep. Take an eye mask! Air con did not work, not sure if this was turned off for winter but the room was quite warm and being on the bottom floor did not wish to sleep with window open so would have been nice to have the option to chose my own room temp if this was the case. On the opposite water in the bathroom never got particularly hot. Warm enough to shower but from a health perspective I would worry about the risks with water stored at that temp. I took 2 showers in my overnight stay and both times this was the case, I thought it may have been due to high use but I fear this was not the case. Food tasted delicious but was warm not hot and when I commented on this the response was they would let the chef know. No apologies at all. I took advice and ordered sides with my main course which I am very glad I did as portions are typical of this type or restaurant which was also commented on by other guests. I do still feel prices were high for the portions received after dinning in AA restaurants fairly regularly. As for breakfast which was warm bread not toast. I opted for continental due to time which provided the fairly stander fare. Certainly not to the 2 AA Rosette standard I was so looking forward too. Also the apples in the room were clearly past their best as one had rot starting at the core so passed on them. Overall as above pretty Luke warm feelings like many aspects of my stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved my room in the courtyard was able to park directly outside and also had a lovely little terrace too!
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staffs were very polite and helpful. Facilities and grounds was excellent, felt very private in courtyard room with direct access to vehicle.
Cons: Cot requested wasn’t ready at check in. Website said there would be more special stuff prepared for kids. Air con in some areas too cold.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The grounds
Cons: The blue signs at the rear of the property appear incongruous with the surroundings and the style of the property’s
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is lovely, beautiful grounds, staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious
7.5 Good
Pros: Surroundings and building style. Bed was excellent and veiw across fields was fantastic.
Cons: Suite we had is not what I would call a suite, more a larger room, all be it very accommodating and nice. I generally expect a suite to have a separate room for entertaining guests from my previous experience.

Cons: I found the wine list was grossly overpriced, great choice but overpriced
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely, the food was amazing.
Cons: A member of staff asking me in front of a large group of people why I left the restaurant without paying, a waitress that I hadn’t even seen in the restaurant. I said I’ve just paid, check with the waiter the served me, just a little embarrassing.

Cons: There wasn't anything that we didn't like
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location and grounds. Dining was very good.
Cons: heating in the bedrooms and dining room could have been warmer
4.6 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was cold when arrived. Sausages not really cooked. Very pink. Bacon wet and sloppy. Felt like my breakfast had been forgotten about and rustled up at last minute. Asked for strong coffee, didn’t get it. Black pudding and grapefruit nice.
Cons: Stained bed throw on one bed. Politely asked upon arrival if I may please have a late check out to watch the rugby. Was told this would not be a problem. Next morning, house keeping camr into my room whilst I was in my underwear asking why I was still in the room. Reception rang me twice to tell me “check out is 11 am madam”. Made me anxious and ruined my rugby watching.
7.5 Good
Pros: It was what we wanted
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The welcome, the little unexpected extra in the room for wife's birthday of an iced plate with chocolates was brilliant. Attentiveness of the staff who obviously worked long hours was second to none

Pros: The location, the amenities in the room

Pros: Good and staff great
Cons: Mess around the pool, not cleared away, very few seats
9.6 Excellent
Pros: nice hotel
Cons: The gym facilities are not open early enough so I couldn't take advantage of them before heading to work. In many hotels the guests can access to the gym outside of regular gym hours. This would be required for me to want to regularly stay.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy beds, good restaurant
Cons: Price for breakfast much higher on day than booking in advance with room, which we didnt expect £12 more
7.1 Good
Pros: Lovely rooms and generally the facilities were very good
Cons: The staffing at breakfast was barely evident. Tables weren’t cleared, we waited 20 mins for coffee. Generally very disorganised which was a shame as everything else had been great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I asked for a couple of favours from the staff to put some nice things out for my wife and they did it without any issues and they did a lovely job, especially with short notice, very much appreciated from room 402 Nikki and Natalie
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the train station (Winnersh Triangle) - easy connection to reading and Henley-on-Thames. Got a room on the top floor which was nice, hotel is nicely decorated, pretty up-to-date. Attentive staff. No problems. Bed was very comfy, bathroom was lovely.
Cons: A little more variety in the breakfast, just. And keeping an eye on the pastries as they seemed to go down quick. Also more attentiveness towards those seated who want tea and coffee - had to get up and find someone to ask.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The rooms were comfortable and clean.
Cons: We had a reservation for a family room, we had very young children with us and arrived at the hotel late night, we also had an additional two adults, our hotel policy stated that in familiy rooms additonal adults could stay at 35 GBP per person, the hotel staff refused to give us this price and instead they charge us for an another room for a total of 199 GBP, our children were

Pros: The hotel still had a "new" feeling.
Cons: The roads around the hotel were a bit confusing. GPS recommended.
6.7 Good
Pros: Very comfortable room and first-rate pool/gym facilities.
Cons: I was surprised to have to pay extra for a cup of hot chocolate when I was already paying 15 pounds for breakfast. Also paying for internet connection is surprising in a hotel like this (it's free at the Pentahotel). Given the location allow plenty of time to drive to/from the centre given the traffic in Reading!

Cons: Beautiful place, gorgeous stay in a lovely room
7.9 Good
Pros: I had not realised that I needed to stay in the area during Henley week so was caught by the high price however apart from the shower which I was unable to make work in the room the place was incredibly quiet, room and pub very clean and lovely service from staff. The room was a very 'tight fit', but had everything necessary and we had a good night so thank you very much to New Inn and your staff.
Cons: I think the tall cupboard next to the bed made the bed seem even smaller than it was ! For some reason was unable to turn the shower temperature down so was unable to take a shower as it was much too hot. However apart from that everything was fine

7.5 Good
Pros: Very close to family member and plenty of parking.
Cons: We were given a room that had a bathroom for a wheelchair user which we were not. So not really suitable for able bodied. But as we were only there is one night did not matter much. Breakfast expensive so we did not have it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms, free Parking undeground , plenty of space - very easy and safe to park your car indeed. The reception in the morning was friendly and helpful to prepare a receipt for us.
Cons: No elecctricity sockets next to the bed, only one under the bed so you need to lay down and do "acrobat" :) to reach it. Also didn't have usb chargers (as we had in another hotel for comparison). Not disappointing but could have been in a 4 star hotel. Some of the reception service wasn't super welcoming, when we arrived . We also ask for a wake up call, but no one rang us, good we had an alarm in case as well.
9.6 Excellent

Cons: We ordered room service but the food was not great. Breakfast buffet was nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a very pleasant stay at the Hilton. I had no complaints about the comfort, cleanliness and very polite obliging staff.

Pros: Coming back twice a year for the same events, is like coming home
7.9 Good
Pros: Good variety, good staff very kind, especially Anna which is always gentle and accurate.
Cons: The only thing that I did not appreciate was the timing to do the check-in: 25 minutes to find my reservation, and then my room was not prepared yet, so I waited other 15 minutes for a total of 40 minutes. The staff was gentle and kindly offered me 2 drinks at the bar in the meanwhile.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was exceptional. It was light and airy and bigger than I thought it would be (we'd booked a Standard Room). The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious! Very good value for the room and service received. I would definitely recommend!

Cons: We did not have hot water in the room this said the hotel staff could not do more for us and got us another room to get washed in
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very well laid out and lots of choice. Bar area was pleasant to sit in for a drink in the evening. Bed was comfy and room very clean. Shower was very large and the rainfall shower was lovely.
Cons: Ran out of croissants on second morning at breakfast but not a massive problem just a small niggle. Our room never had the pillow spray.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay in Basingstoke for the All In The Mind Festival. Was a short walk away from Eastrop Park and easily walkable from the town centre. The staff were brilliant. Couldn't praise them highly enough, friendly, funny, warm and welcoming.
Cons: The only thing that let this place down was the shower pressure (I'm really nit-picking because everything else was really good!) As it was a bit weak for my liking.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were lovely. Bed very comfy!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: All good. 10 min walk to top end of town. Nice garden out the back.
Cons: A swimming pool to go with the sauna and steam room!
5.7 Okay
Pros: The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable. The hotel was quiet even though we were on the first floor i expected some noise. It was nice and relaxing.
Cons: The Receptionist needs to be re trained. The girl we had i could almost understand her english, therefore delaying my checking in process. I found her to be quite ignorant and she rarely answered the phone when ringing from my room. The price of drinks and food in the hotel is very expensive.
6.3 Good
Pros: It is conveniently situated in walking distance from the town and near the business park
Cons: There was an appreciable gap between the door to the room and the floor. This meant that noise from the corridor was disturbing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about the hotel was good. The only thing I would say is that the heating seems to be turned up quite high!
Cons: Nothing.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Convienient

Pros: Excellent staff, fast check-in.
Cons: Mistakes during check-out.
6.8 Good
Pros: very comfortable room at a very reasonable price. Fast checkout very convenient.
Cons: our room was upstairs, there was no lift so we had to carry our luggage up 2 flights of stairs

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room decoration, friendly staff, delicious breakfast and much more... I have to mention that the home made cookies presented in the room were just amazing. We bought another 10 packs of these cookies on our way out and they were all gone in 2 hours!
Cons: I was woken up twice by noise in the night. A van stopped outside to unload delivery or something at 4am and made a lot of noise just outside my window. I am a deep sleeper but the noise was so loud that it actually made me jump.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good food and pleasant staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The team were exceptional in looking after my needs - but not OTT. The superior double room was extremely comfortable and the bathroom well provided for. The food was amazing. Thought I’d stay for a coffee after checkout - with a homemade golden syrup cookie... wow!
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were lovely. The bed very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and all dietary requests catered for.
Cons: There wasn't a fridge in the room. The bathroom although lovely was a bit squashed in. Not much room for manoeuvre.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nicely fitted rooms over smart restaurant in thriving riverside village. Comfortable and well thought out room despite compact proportions.
Cons: Rather noisy road close to front of property. Seemed a little pricey but this probably reflects the area.
6.7 Good
Pros: The room was nice.
Cons: The service and food was a let down. We arrived at 1:40pm on Sunday in time to watch the wimbledon mens final and struggled to find someone to check in. We asked a waiter who fetched another waiter. Having said that "we would like to check in please" the first response was "sorry check in is not until 2pm". (Cant believe all rooms miraculously are ready simultaneously at 2pm!) To which we replied "that's ok we'll get some lunch then". Shaking his head the waiter said "I'm not sure if that's possible, we are very busy, do you have a reservation?". Bearing in mind that we were residents and the the restaurant was only two thirds full, after about 10 minutes he returned and said that he could accommodate us but there would be a 20min delay until we could order. Finally some 40 minutes later our order was taken and the food was ok but very limited for a vegetarian. It then took another 30 mins for the food to arrive. Very very frustrating and we missed the first hour of the final :( Asked if we wanted to reserve for dinner I checked the menu which was largely the same as lunchtime (sunday roast) so we declined. Good job as we discovered the restaurant doesn't serve after 7pm on Sunday so went down he road for a pizza!! Nice that they focus on fresh food but it really is more a meat lovers place. The butter and bread is homemade but the butter at breakfast tasted off so we had it changed as did another table but it was just the same. It was also covered in salt which did not go well with the marmalade. We did not feel welcome, more of a hindrance really. I would not recommend the restaurant if you are in a hurry (have less that 2 hours!) or do not want meat.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely
Cons: Noisy plumbing , pump noise in the morning
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely and friendly. Location was perfect for some lovely Thames walks. Food excellent.
Cons: A very minor thing but the restaurant was very quiet midweek yet, we felt rushed through the courses and had to ask the waiter to slow down.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic food and service!
6.7 Good
Pros: The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nicely laid out with a good selection.
Cons: The beds in both rooms were very low and creaky with painted floorboards, didn't feel comfortable. Big bath quite difficult to get into with a horrible shower curtain.

Cons: Service of food during the evening was slow. My main meal was cold When it arrived and had to be sent back
7.1 Good
Pros: Room was clean and comfortable
Cons: Food was overpriced and nothing special at all. I had Chicken Balti and was very disappointed... chicken was tough, sauce was not great, rice was awful (it was 'easy -cook' rice) and the naan bread was over microwaved so tough and chewy.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: WE WERE UPGRADED TO A CLUBS ROOM. THE BREAKFAST WAS GOOD, A LOT OF CHOICE OF FOOD. THE LOCATION IS GOOD IF YOU DRIVE. IT WOULD BE QUIET OF THERE IS NO MATCH ON THAT DAY. A LOT OF PARKING SPACE
Cons: WE ARE ALLOCAED A CLUBS ROOM ON 4TH FLOOR, BUT WE WERE NOT ABLE TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE CLUB LOUNGE IN THE MORNING. THERE WAS NO COVER AT THE ENTRANCE, THE GLASS ON THE CANOPY SEEMS REMOVED. NOT GOOD ON A RAINY DAY.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Check in staff member Teogh was excellent. Great customer service. He also checked us out and was just as nice. Room was very quiet with comfortable bed. The very good buffet breakfast was included and staff were pleasant and helpful.
Cons: The shower could have been better as the water pressure was low plus water not very hot. However it did the job and did not detract from our stay.

Pros: The traditional decor it should never changed, it's timeless. The lounge room was so comfy. The bedroom huge!
Cons: The staff were amusing but very nice and attentive. They couldn't pour tea without spilling it and served coffee with no cups and had to find my own clean cutlery at breakfast from other random tables. Apart from that they were actually brilliant!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent visit again dinner absolutely perfect
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was above my expectations and we spent several hours walking in the extensive grounds. The choices and meal for the inclusive Dinner were excellent, well cooked and presented, with small taster's between the course's. Overall we were both very pleased and it made the event special.
Cons: The stay would have been excellent until breakfast. The table we were sat at had a dirty coffee cup, no butter, no milk and when my eggs Benedict were brought to the table there was a black hair on the plate. The meal was returned and a fresh meal was supplied.
5.0 Okay
Pros: When we did complain about issue receptionist was very helpful. Shame restaurant staff not as attentive. Lovely grounds and main building is stunning.
Cons: Expected a bit more luxury for the fairly high cost of a one night stay Garden room felt like a little like we were in staff quarters. Restaurant staff at both dinner and breakfast need to open their eyes a bit. Felt a bit ignored at times. Food standard was excellent but let down by service. Got completely ignored for tea/coffee and toast at breakfast...asked and still waited 10 further minutes. Which by then our breakfast was 3/4 finished. Dinner seemed to go well until mains and after that we felt a bit ignored .....countless waiting staff walking past us with no offered top up on drinks or an attempt to clear our plates after mains and dessert which left myself and my girlfriend a bit frustrated.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location with excellent food and a lovely elegant room. Staff very friendly and helpful and always cheerful and polite. Had a wonderful spa pedicure and enjoyed swimming in the outdoor pool. Also treated ourselves to scrumptious afternoon tea. Live piano music in the evening. Super comfy lounges where you can while away the afternoon. Lots of nice places to visit nearby.
Cons: The dining room decor is a little tired now. Breakfast coffee was bitter and stale.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful grounds and nice spa facilities , good welcome pack for our little dog

4.6 Okay
Pros: Both breakfast and dinner were really good. The staff, in particular the ones serving the breakfast were really attentive and professional.
Cons: Spent two nights here. Room cleanliness was not great the first day already. Used shampoo left in the shower, dirty desk and no cups for coffe. Second night much worst. The bins have not been emptied, no new towels and bathroom kit. Empty shampoo bottle left in the shower. No new dink water. Only the bed was made. When asked the reason why the room has not been cleaned they apologise saying that the staff was on holiday. I've been offered to empty the bins and get new bathroom kit during while I was having the dinner.

Cons: The weather
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, breakfast! Also very quiet.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location and view
Cons: Nothing near walking distance like grocery store coffee’s
5.0 Okay
Pros: Fire in downstairs bar.
Cons: Itchy woollen blankets on beds, breakfast served on trays in rooms but only table was a coffee table so uncomfortable to eat at, plus as all served at once either porridge or toast was going to be cold by the time I ate it. Apparently they don’t serve it in the dining room as they need to get that ready for lunch, though every other hotel in the world seems to manage it. When I raised this on checking out I was told we could’ve asked for breakfast in the bar, but we weren’t made aware of this on check in. Didn’t help that the alarm clock in our room had been left set for 645am after a poor nights sleep - room was too hot from chimney flue but air conditioning very old and noisy. Others in party found their room dirty, musty and full of smells from kitchen so decided not to stay. Tables out on terrace rusty and damaged, some paving stones broken. Not worth the high prices.
9.6 Excellent

Pros: Comfortable bed, nice additions like biscuits and bottled water, quality toiletries in the shared bathroom. Fantastic breakfast served in a lovely room. Location perfect just a mile off the A34. So impressed with this place!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good evening meal and breakfast and the lady in the restaurant
Cons: Young staff possibly not trained
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I need to stay in Newbury one night a week for work so was looking for the nicest and most convenient place to stay long term and for a target average price of around £50pn. So pleased I found this gem, set in the quiet countryside at a lovely country Inn. The accommodation is in a separate cottage building which is well appointed, clean and comfortable. I haven’t tried the beer as I don’t like to drink alone and I never have time for breakfast as it doesn’t start until 7.30am which is too late for me but I’m sure it would be lovely.
Cons: Parking can be tight.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and welcoming
7.1 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, pub seemed nice although didn’t eat there, good location close to A34 with easy access to Newbury. Lovely big shower!
Cons: Bathroom wasn’t as clean as would expect, found hairs and a fingernail on the floor by the sink along with lots of dust and cobwebs by the foot of the sink.
