It's a great little place right by the beach. I went during the Chuseok season, so everyone was with their family or couples. A couple of seafood restaurants right around the corner and a bunch of convenience stores, mainly selling ice cream, coffee, and beach gear (including fire works and swimming gear). There is a patio area where you can grill whatever meat you bring, which is cool. The host was great, very kind and accommodating. Not sure if he speaks English, as I can speak Korean. It is also right next to the local bus stop. I didn't have a car, so this was important to me. Overall, a pleasant experience. Definitely recommend~.
Beware the mosquitoes on the beach, even in the cold season. They're big.
The couple who run the place are wonderful - but do not speak any English. Be prepared to sleep on thin futons. We were there in the off-season, but found the roads and beach quiet to walk on. Fortunately there are 2-3 convenience stores which was key, as very few restaurants were open when we went.
The taxi driver had difficulty finding the place (from Taean bus terminal). Also - be prepared for insect life - alas - we ended up leaving the light on in the bathroom all night....
The hotel is really close to the beach and the room has a good balcony, The kitchen appliances and utensils were all really good. There is shampoo, rinse and toothpaste available in the toilet. Thermal insulation is really good, as well as heated floors. There are convenience stores close to it. The room doesn't have separate beds (as expected), being a floor room with a "yo" bed. It was unexpected but it wasn't a bad experience, just different. It is good for your spine and worth a try!
The markets nearby don't have much option for food, and since the room has a kitchen we reccommend buying food in the city before heading to Yonpo.
Great location, kind staff, good rooom.
+ Friendly staff (even though they spoke only Korean and we only English) + Room included essentials + Location was calm + Next to the beach, bus stop and markets + Cheap compared to other local motels/pensions
- Some of the futons, plankets and pillows were dirty - Shower is located above the sink in the bathroom so taking a shower wets whole room / The hotel and the village can't be reached via bus after 6pm / Futon beds are always hard to sleep
