View of the matterhorn. Kind of lodge-like. The hotel was charming in an old and dingy kind of way. Off the beaten path.
the pool no
The hotel is very clean and the facility is good. The staff can be more warm-hearted and the service can be better.
good location, wellness area indifferent reception staff, run down in need of renovation
The service they provided was amazing, the hotel looks really classy
Kindly and helpfull staff, large rooms, quietness, every room has bacony darkness of the room
Second night we had a balcony on the fourth floor facing the Matterhorn which allowed us to take photos beginning at 5 A.M. when there were no clouds around the majestic mountain. Staff had accommodated by changing rooms for us. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice of items. Provided free parking at the bw in Tasch and shuttle from/to train in Zermatt. bw in Tasch directly across street from train station. Be sure to get a token to exit the lot when you leave your car--may take time to find a staffer to give you one if you leave it until your return from Zermatt. First night on the first floor our balcony faced waste disposal bins. The elevator is very small--one person, one bag at a time please. Located at the eastern end of Zermatt, away from the centre and most restaruants, in an almost industrial section of the town--not the best area.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The hotel is a close walk to the train station. The pool was great for the kids. The breakfast selection was good - something for everyone. The rooms are a bit outdated; however, it was not a big issue.
We were placed in a room in an annexe under the tennis court. It was dark and cold. Perhaps the other rooms are better but this was by no means a room of a 4 or even 3 star hotel. Poor value for money.
