Overall I will say about the guest house is that If I again visit to Niigata, I will still stay in the same place. Thanks, Bharat
Cons: See the above message.
Pros: The breakfast that offered is a traditional Japanese which is very delicious. The staff is also very friendly and helpful with assisting people. They also will hold luggage prior to checking in so you can explore the area.
Cons: The shared bathrooms we're downstairs while the bedrooms were upstairs. So you would have to walk through of the common area to get washed up. The staircase is also extremely narrow and small so take caution if you have any piece of luggage bigger than a backpack.

Pros: Great bathrooms! Lovely staff!
Cons: You really are Secondary to the book theme. There is a terrible waste of open space below the beds that would make for much better wiggle room & natural ventillation overall. Absolutely needs laundry facilities.
Pros: Very nicely done & decorated, the bed was comfortable. Very good signing from the station.
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, particularly Mika, Kudzu, Aoi and Greg Charming, cozy atmosphere particularly if you are a bibliophile, bedding down amidst shelves of books. Wifi excellent and reliable. Appreciated the early check-in and complimentary coffee/tea. Location excellent, just a couple minutes walk from JR Train Station, well-placed signs to guide you to this 4th floor hostel (accessible by Lift), and the staff at Niigata's Tourist Info office just outside the train station even knew of the Book Inn. Good selection of books btw, I read several during my 6-night stay. Hope to return someday. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Pros: The location was great, close to the train and to food. The bed spaces were good, there was enough ventiliation even though you were behind the bookshelves. I thought the shared bathroom facilities would be a problem with cleanliness but they always seemed quite clean. The staff were helpful and pleasant.
Cons: I did not like that even though you had privacy, I could hear the guy across from me grinding his teeth. So your capsule was not soundproof. There was not a lot of seating space to eat or just sit around. There were no lockers for my bags.

Cons: Complicated location.
Pros: old family home atmosphere
Cons: some noisy guests till late at night..nothing to do with the host-just unfortunate.

Pros: Close to train station (5 min walk). Lots of restaurants and pubs close by.
Pros: Buffet breakfast was good with enough variety to meet most tastes.

Pros: Nice Hotel, with small rooms but great staff and good clean rooms. Just what to expect

Pros: - Staff are very nice - Free parking area
Cons: - Breakfast is not that impressive (only a few choices)
Pros: The shower was good
Cons: The breakfast was not very good . Scrambled Eggs , coffee and toast were promised . The coffee was ok , the bread tiny and the scrambled eggs was digusting . We tried to cancel the breakfast the day before after paying for it but was told this was not allowed. Brought the hotel experience right down :(
Pros: Fantastic value for money, the rooms were very well maintained and very clean. The hotel is located just off a highway exit and less than 15 mins of driving to the city. I think it serves as a perfect base for road trips to the majority attractions in Niigata. I did not have a chance to evaluate public transport to this hotel.
Pros: Clean, functional low cost hotel next to motorway
Cons: Very hard bed and pillow

Cons: For me, the breakfast was ok but some of the options were a bit weird and not very appetizing in the morning! For example: curry, spaghetti, meatballs and dumplings were served. They did serve salad, eggs, some bread rolls, coffee and juice which were ok though.
