Pros: The reception area was very interesting with former racing cars & motorbikes on display. Rydges was a welcome oasis for us after riding 7 hours on a motorbike in 37 degree temperatures. All facilities were so comfortable & bed was BEST we have ever slept in. Breakfast was very reasonably priced as was dinner in the restaurant. Would definitely recommend to others.

4.0 Okay
Cons: I booked on line and booked an executive suite for $300 . When I arrived to my room to a tiny 2 single beds i went down stairs to question my room to be told it was the fault of the online service and there was nothing that could be done. I went up to check my itinerary to find yes I paid $300 for a dog box. I would never booked at this hotel if this was what $300 got me. The restaurant food was appaling , I took 2 bites and ate no more, the worst lamb shanks ever tasted. Those with me that night would not return either. The garlic bread was so crunchy and burnt. I would not recommend this hotel or use again

Wellington Courthouse - Tailem Bend - Bedroom

8.3 Excellent (112 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Wellington Courthouse, South Australia is set in Wellington East, 25 km from Murray Bridge. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Each room at this hotel is air conditioned and is fitted with a flat-screen TV. You will find a shared kitchen at the property. Adelaide Airport is 89 km from the property.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staying in an hostoric property. Dawn showed us through the court rooms, cells, carriage room now an alfresco area and stables. History fascinating.
Cons: Not a thing.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Wonderful sunset views across the Murray at sunset in the ‘golden hour’. Sit outside in the late afternoon and enjoy the birdlife. Wello Pub is a 100m walk up the road; good pub fare. Lucky, really since it’s really the only choice. The accommodation is in a quirky building.
Cons: Breakfast offering was a 660g pack of bacon (expiring tomorrow), eggs of similarly indeterminate age, bum-ends of a few various loaves, and a choice of weetbix or weetbix with uht milk. No Wifi, even though it was advertised as having it. The ‘private shared bathroom’ was an experience: since we had the ground floor unit (#6) we had to go outside and around the corner to the loo, and outside and upstairs to use the kitchen. Since we were the only people there, why not put us inside the building, upstairs with a better view? The quirky building and location weren’t really worth the stay. The lighting in the room is a difficult one to rate. I had no bulb in my bedside lamp. Fortunately, by climbing on the bed I was able to point one of the ceiling lights at the wall above the bed which gave me enough reflected light to read by. The evening was cool, so we set the air conditioner on 21-degC. In the middle of the night, we woke up sweltering, and had to open the door to let in fresh air. So, no, not particularly comfortable
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quiet location, adjacent to the Murray river. We were fortunate enough to get a look around the old Courthouse, fantastic history. Clean room, of a good size with ample cooking facilities in the shared kitchen. The bathroom is along the corridor, but each bedroom has its own separate bathroom, so it is not 'shared' in the traditional sense. The ferry across the river runs 24 hours a day and is free of charge. The stop at Wellington makes a sensible detour after a long drive from Melbourne towards Adelaide, or gives a head-start for the run east towards Melbourne. The Wellington pub, next door, does meals and looks-out over the river.
Cons: Couldn't fault the accommodation
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: The cooking utensil, pots & oven were dirty. Heater was controlled by management, woke up hot numerous times during the night. Beds were uncomfortable. Two very different rooms, same price though- go figure. Breakfast food is handled by all guests at hotel, very unhygienic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great spot on the Murray, beautiful accommodation.
Cons: Not too much to complain about here. Beautiful scenic location right on the banks of the River Murray .the old renovationed courthouse has been done a treat its extraordinary how the facilities look with modern bathrooms, bedrooms and surroundings, which is incredibly quiet. The owners are massively helpfull and friendly and welcoming. Wellington is just a small spot on the map but it is a little gem of a place especially for short stop over or long weekend. Check out the historic hotel just 2 doors down from the Courthouse while in town its absolutely outstanding for a meal or few quiet drinkies. Lovely and highly recommended all round...Brilliant!

Pros: Everything we needed, and more, was available. Lovely welcome gift. We cooked our own breakfast and sat on the verandah in the sun enjoying the view. The room was very comfortable, and our hosts Edith and Dawn were wonderful. We loved the Historic Courthouse Tour, and the café attached to the Motel is delightful. The Wellington Hotel is a short walk and we enjoyed a delicious dinner there.
Cons: Maybe an ensuite - but our own large bathroom was only up the hall, with a double shower.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Very poor
Cons: Everthing Told we had our own bath room but did not tell you had to walk down corridor Ferry out side window going all nights with car on and off
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast could have been better if there was oil for cooking eggs or butter to make scrambled eggs. Otherwise was very good.
Cons: A stronger bedside reading light is needed
