The hotel is in a stunning setting and has been fully restored to an historic French Chateau. Quality french cuisine is served in the restaurant but is quite costly; A two course meal for two people was €120 and breakfast €16 per person. This would be a fantastic, idyllic location for a wedding.
The location and the food Difficult to find the entrance and no tea or coffee facilities in room.
wifi very exp.
Very clean and comfortable rooms, pleasant and helpful staff and the option of hot drinks facility in the room.
The castel and the out side The inside and the Restaurant
Clean comfortable room in beautiful surroundings and at the right place for an overnight stop on our way to Spain Plain Walls in the room. Dinner menu is poor value for money. Breakfast should be in a light room not in a darkened space.
Nice setting. Easy to find. Checked in late (2145). No English spoke & my French is so so. Asked if we could get a coffee, but wasn't interested. Mini bar in room, only 1 beer, some soft drinks and crisps. No tea/coffee facilities. When you arrive in darkness, very badly lit from where car is parked.
The Chateau, grounds and surrounding area were beautiful, we found it a welcome break from our journey from the UK to Spain. Unfortunately the rooms were going through a refurbishment and were lacking in some facilities.
The food and the location The room was somewhat shabby; broken light switch, noisy fridge, 2 light- bulbs not working. The bed was very uncomfortable and noisy (loose joints), this was reported to the hotel the following morning.
Only the location which was breathtaking for views of the countryside. The meal we were served on the first evening was awful, very poor in quality and cooking to ones liking. The menu is a set price, either €32 or €42 each with three choices of main course. The second night we went to a Restaurant Grill, across the road from the Chateau entrance and had a really super meal much cheaper than at the Chateau.
The location is spectacular and the staff very friendly and willing to assist. They were not averse to speaking English so everything was sorted fairly easily. The menu had a good choice as we are mainly fish eaters, prices were reasonable. The rooms do not have excellent sound proofing as could hear the occupant of the adjacent room snoring during the night. No air coditioning or fan, room a bit warm during night. The hotel could do with some minor refurbishment as a bit past its prime.
Friendly staff and nice location with view of the Eiffel designed Viaduct. The breakfast was typical French continental - nice but not filling - ok at the price of 7,50 euro Internet Wi-Fi functions well. We didn't use the restaurant - the menu looked good, but a bit pricey. We stayed end of season and it was cold, the rooms have single pane glass, and beds are provided with sheet and blankets, not warm enough - we had our duvets in the car and used them too. I don't recommend staying here at beginning or end of season, as it can be cold and you won't be able to use the nice outside facilities (pool, terrace etc.)
Great reception on booking in. Great location. Dinner in restaurant disappointing and staff detached. Gave breakfast a miss.
Very nice hotel: friendly, pleasant staff. Room was very clean ,good size and comfortable, and the bathroom clean and efficient. Many three star amenities such as refrigerator in the room.Wonderful view of Viaduc from our room.Excellent for families, offfering indoor pool, childrens' playground, plus canoes and large boats for toruing the lake.Very good restaurant, good value for money. Breakfast also afforable and worth the money. We would stay here again to explore the area.
Fabulous view of the lake and viaduct-- very good meal and wine price.Covered pool even on hot day-- will visit again !!!
The food was absolutely fantastic. A warm welcome and helpful staff. A small swimming pool which, although limited, was a nice accessory. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Wonderfully quiet, confortable room, polite staff and good food, would reccomend
Room large and clean. Great views. Car park at back of hotel, along an unmade road. Not sure whether it was being redone ,or been like for ages. Needed a bit of TLC. Needed to eat there as a long way from anywhere else - food was good though.
Very peaceful and the staff were welcoming. Spacious room, great for a family of five. Nice and clean and breakfast was more than adequate. Hotelier kindly helped us plan our route home. Would be helpful to have an internal walkway to the main part of the hotel, and to have the simple menu also in English.
Location stunning. Staff excellent, very attentive. Quad room clean, modern & very comfortable. Very enjoyable stay. It rained in the morning !!
Nice location Alittle bit like a hostel
Their help and general attitude
The staff were very helpful and kind. The rate was very good. The hotel is in a magnificent position but there are no views from the bedroom that we occupied because the second row of the hotel is situated right behind the main building. Also the design of the main building hides much of the view even from the restaurant. It is a great pity as the hotel is in a wonderful setting. There is no electric plug available by the computer table in the bedroom (at least that was the case in the room we occupied) and the hotel does not offer facilities such as tv, telephone, hair dryer or iron (which was kindly provided by the staff as a favour).
Nice location, parking, Wi-Fi, restaurant. Breakfast needs more choice, access road to rooms not paved.
We arrived very late and despite the time and the fact that the kitchen should have been closing, the hotel owners made us a delicious evening meal. They made us feel very welcome and we would definitely return, hopefully for more than just one night.
We only stayed in the hotel for 1 night, en route to Spain. The warm welcome of the staff was really nice and even though we arrived late and the kitchen was closing, they provided us with a nice warm meal. We really like the family rooms a lot. It was good value for money.
Peaceful setting, good view (1300m above sea level), clean rooms, novel layout (which the kids liked), an excellent meal of turkey in tarragon sauce and a delicious (if slightly sloppy) chocolate mousse. Very pleasant staff. Generally good value for money. A bit remote and a long winding ascent up the mountain. Currently looking a bit tatty on the outside due to renovation work. Rooms a bit spartan and the stairs up to the mezzanine are quite steep. It's a bit of a hike back down the mountain to find a meal if you didn't want to eat in the restaurant.
