Pros: Bed was comfortable and the host was always available for any requests. Few bikes were available free of charge and there was a really good connected cycling path.
Pros: Everything was brilliant! The owner herself met us personally and provided extensive info on the hotel and the surroundings, sightseeing places, etc. The room (and the whole cottage - with many wonderfully designed public spaces) was very stylish - a gorgeous example of what we see as Finnish interpretation of hygge - and created magic Christmas mood immediately! The owners also provide many useful things for their guests (like cosy home slippers, sticks for Scandinavian walk, flashlight for exploring Salpalinian bunker, etc. The place is very beautiful and cosy. We believe it's even greater in summer! Wanna be back soon!
Cons: The price is still a bit higher than in the same type of places in other Finnish towns (like in Mikkeli), but taking into consideration proximity to Russian border it may be quite grounded. We'd be a little happier if there are a bit more places for storage (like another wardrobe) in the room.
Pros: The owner couple is very friendly, provide all the information we need. For our fishing arrangements, they prepared the earthworms for us, for our mushrooms picking, they proactively provide the mushrooms grew in their garden after knowing that we did not find enough on our way to the forest.
Pros: Very quiet and calm place. Awesome personal. Clean and quiet room thats very important with kids. I were with two small kids and everything was excellent. Good bed size!))))
Cons: Very friendly owner. The location and room was excellent.
Pros: Great location in a quiet place with access to lake and more or less reasonable price among crazy Finnish prices. The apartment was OK with some little issues, but overall not worse and not better than most of the finnish hotels or apartments.
Cons: Cold water was missing in the kitchinette.
Pros: The area
Cons: The bed
Pros: I was staying the second time here and again it was a great experience. Joris is brilliant host who is always there to offer help and make your stay more comfortable. We arrived by bikes and Joris helped us to get some amenities for BBQ from the store by car which we could not bring on our own. The room (i would rather call it an apartment as it was very big) was perfectly furnished and comfy. The place is located in a very calm area in the forest and yet close to the nearest town with supermarkets (6 km away). Also there was a nice pier for swimming in the lake nearby and it took just a 5 minute walk to get there.
Cons: No cons, everything was flawless!
Pros: Very comfortable room we slept very well. We didn’t order a breakfast but still the guy improvised something which was much appreciated.
Cons: Nothing to say
Pros: Cosy rooms, lovely domestic atmosphere, a lot of little details that make you feel at home. I strongly recommend this place.
Pros: The owner is always very friendly and helps everyone. He gave me a barbecue umbrella)))
Pros: Good place to stay with family!
Pros: Very nice and large apartment, very friendly staff
Cons: The bed quality was not great (moving a lot) There is a pond with a small boat, but the lakes are actually a bit far from the property
Pros: Everything very comfortable and nice in the house. Big room is equipment with all what we need, warm and clean. Friendly host❤️
Cons: Orthopedic pillows, but it is nothing. In the garderobe there are some normal, ordinary pillows

Pros: Clean, central, sauna possibilities, free parking, spacious, friendly service and complete kitchen equipment.
Pros: Clean apartment. Good location. Reasonable price. Free parking. Everything working. Good host. Very good heating in kitchen and in the bathroom (warm floor).
Cons: Heating in room could be better, barely warm radiators, although it was compensated by warm blankets.
Pros: Small flat with bed, kitchen, TV and bath room for private use. Perfect in case you do not need any hotel lobby and want to arrange for your own dinner or breakfast. Also, the harbour is around the corner, shopping mall and even bakery is not too far away. Parking the car nearby is no problem.
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Sauna on site. Fully equipped kitchen in a separate room, spacious bedroom (must have been a living room)
Cons: Absence of double beds, very small restroom.
Pros: Location of the property was near the bus stop and city center was close
Cons: very good stuff, location and clean but not cheap
Pros: Location excellent, free parking
Offering a private beach area, Lakehouse Saimaa B&B is in Taipalsaari, 27 km from Lappeenranta Airport. This lakefront property provides free WiFi and rooms with a private bathroom. Pros: Great scenery from the shore where is near by guesthouse
Pros: The lake and surrounding environment was nice and clean. There were also lot of different games to play like pingpong and basketball.
Cons: The breakfast could be better and wood to the bbq could be cheaper/ free. Also sauna did cost few euros which should be in the room price.
Pros: The room was quite OK, clean. Even with air condition, what was quite helpful in this hot period of the summer.
Cons: The outside equipment gave a neglected impression. A huge grill-pavillon. The ground some grungy irregular grey material. No table there, and no wood or char-coal. You should buy char-coal from the manager. 5Euro for a little sack!!! The so called beach not very nice. The breakfast was just rediculous. Some slices of toast, some slices of melting-cheese, an apple, a cheap-brand-yogurt, all packed in a plastic box.... No thanks
Pros: No dinner is offered at the place however as we came by bike guite tired the staff organized a cartrip to nearest shop. This was much appreciated. Very kind and helpfull people.
Pros: Very quiet and wonderful place.
Pros: - Location: stunning views of Saimaa and nearby - Services: free table tennis, boat - we (4 people) were able to fit int this boat and have ineteresting trip - Breakfast was russian-style (oat porridge) - All necessary equipment for barbecue - three (!) BB zones: under the linen tent (sunny days), under the firm tent (rainy days), and even closed-type one (looks like for winter) + kitchen + refrigerator etc...
Cons: Not a disadvantage, but confusion: strange price/quality balance: we 2 had 105 euro room (with breakfast) , and our friends couple had 79 euro room And the only difference was +1 additional sq. meter of space Also I read people's feedback before our visit - they wrote about ability to have meal in the restaurant Actually there was not one.

Pros: We stayed two nights in the deluxe double room with lake view located in the historic spa building. The room was clean and bright, but it could have been more spacious. The gym was good. We enjoyed the breakfast, too.
Cons: It would be nice to have free parking.
Pros: Location was ok. Check in staff was nice and helpful, tried their best.
Cons: The spa could use a facelift and deep cleaning. Steam sauna has been out of order for months and jacuzzi was really cold. Would be nice with some music there. Room really old and you could see it, view was a parking slot. Not worth the money. Breakfast really basic, nothing special.
Pros: Good room with nice view to Savonlinna town. Good location to the city in 10min by walk over the wooden bridge, as well as close to 2 beautiful islands where one can have a nice walk. Breakfast buffet was excellent, and also the dinner in the restaurant. Also the sauna was good. WLAN worked well.
Cons: The bathroom needs some renovation. No power plugs above the desk.
Pros: Location, value for money , breakfast & gym
Pros: Great location. Offered room with view of lake in old spa building . Lovely comfortable renovated room. Was fascinated by smart shower plan. Very helpful and caring staff. Have no experience of Finnish saunas but this was what I had imagined. Didn't jump into a freezing lake but lovely pools. Breakfast had a variety for every taste.
Pros: Great location on the waterfront! Very comfortable hotel. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Spotless rooms that were cleaned each day. Plenty to see and do in Lappeenranta and neighbouring towns. Also very easy in summer to just chill out. Pleasant , generous breakfast each day. Very well worth a visit in south east Finland.
Cons: All good!
Pros: very good breakfast
Cons: everything fantastic

Pros: Very kind host, we could even use her kitchen facilities! We were alone in the hostel, it was amazing! Thank you very much for your hospitality!
Pros: I only booked a bed, but the entire hotel was mine. There was nobody else. The staff is very kind, they just left the key for me. There was plenty of food in the kitchen so I had ability to prepare great breakfast. The only thing I was disappointed is that I didn't find how to switch the sauna on, but I suppose it's available only when staff in there. Great place. Very recommend.
Pros: Very friendly staff. Location in the wood, that is why it was very silent and cosy.
Pros: The room for 12 prs was quite big, there was a place for the rest besides the beds. There was a fridge, kettle and etc. The breakfast was really great as well as the evening meal. Our bycicles were parked inside the hotel for the night. There is a nice pond near the hotel.
Cons: The was just 2 wc for 2 rooms of 12 prs. And a shower inside the sauna that locks by jyst one person who is going to have a shower. It was not suitable as we have to stand in a queue.
Pros: Very quiet room. Restaurant had very good food and atmosphere I especially liked the backround music
Pros: Very friendly and helpful owners, room was very big and comfortable, very uniquely designed. Nice experience.
Cons: Was not possible to open the windows fully.

Cons: The rooms are a bit cold even though the central heating was on.
A cosy hotel in the centre of Lappeenranta, near all services. Friendly service, sauna and a swimming pool guarantee a relaxing visit.
Pros: Reception service was nice, they had a treat waiting for our dog upon arrival, and parking instructions were easy to follow. Scandic has an outstanding breakfast, many of my favourites!
Cons: The hotel, as it is, is overpriced. There wasn't much wrong with my experience, but it wasn't thrilling either. You can find the same services abroad for 30€ per night. The mattress was kind of hard, and the bathroom was in need of a renovation. Especially the shower looked like it was taken from a public swimming hall. The hotel informed of an extra fee concerning pets after the initial reservation via e-mail, instead of letting customers know beforehand. The wifi was impractical, requiring a log-in with personal information and several connections.
Pros: Good breakfast and excellent location
Cons: The rooms are a little bit out dated.
Pros: Central position, great breakfast buffet. Everything in Lappeenranta is quite near, and the hotel is a good base for visiting the town.
Cons: The restaurant closes quite early in the evening. At our arrival, apparently it was open, and the receptionist confirmed that it was available. However, he forgot to say that it was going to close soon... when we came down from the rooms 30 minutes later, we found it closed. Anyway, the receptionist was able to give us a couple of addresses to find something for dinner.
Pros: The location is very central and the room was not too small.
Cons: The bathroom was not clean - there were hairs on different surfaces. The shampoo dispenser was empty and the furniture in the room was worn. Apart from that, the breakfast room was very dark.
Pros: There is the good small swimming pool and sauna. Our standard double room was old but clean and comfortable. We had hearty breakfast.
Pros: Size & Location
Cons: Older Facility
Pros: Friendly and cosy atmosphere. Good breakfast.
Cons: It'd be nice to have a teaport in the room.
Pros: The good, convinient place in center of city, free parking. Sauna, swimming pool, excellent breakfest.
Cons: I didn't find the kettle in the room and nobody can't explain me were can I take this one.
Pros: Location, breakfast, free parking on the roof, silent room.
Cons: The water from shower in the sauna was not being drained, and the sauna was working bad. The coffee for breakfast was awful.
Pros: shopping near the hotel
Cons: spa - is not very good
Pros: hotel stuff has been very friendly, rest is really bad - you do not want to pay 130 Euros a night for such an ugly place
Cons: hotel stuff has been very friendly, rest is really bad - you do not want to pay 130 Euros a night for such an ugly place
Pros: I liked everything in this hotel. I am looking for one more stay in this hotel.
Pros: Good location
Pros: good location, friendly staff, parking area
Cons: strange smell at the corridors, too cold water in the pool for children to swim
Pros: location is very good - close to everything in the city. Good beds and bed linen
Cons: the bathroom is quite old
Pros: Location is good indeed, price is also acceptable, but there is no entertainment for children - it makes noncomfortable staing with small kids. Breakfast is good.
