Pros: The guesthouse was designed by the architect owner in great style. There is a beautiful garden outside the room where we enjoyed our breakfast. The spa experience was wonderful
Pros: The owner of this guest house is a architect and you feel it with the decoration... the place is amazing and very great for the price. The owners are so kind and the breakfast was amazing! We will definitely stay there again when we go around Nagoya! Also, thanks to us for accepting our two bulldogs :-)
Pros: We most liked the hospitality, we felt visiting friends, not like been tourists. We saw the best of the Tajmi and surrounding area. The spa was very good, as well as the restaurants for dinner. It was very interesting to spend time with the host Suguru and his lovely wife, because they know English, European culture, and, of course, Japanese. If we are going to visit Tajimi in the future, we are going to stay there again.
Pros: Everything! My hosts were the very best in every way! You can't put a price on caring, from-the-heart service at every turn. And the accommodations, the view, the various most-thoughtful amenities...(stocked little fridge...with pay-per-item drinks, for example) were beyond expectations... Like a nice little "suite", really...that was very "sweet" to experience!
Cons: For me, it was "perfect", and I couldn't ask for better! (But for those traveling in the colder weather who are used to having "central heating", it might take some adjusting to deal with other heat sources...which were quite sufficient, but does take ongoing "adjusting" of temperatures.)
Pros: Lovely outlook and a scrumptious breakfast every morning. The hosts were very friendly and would do anything for you.
Cons: If this place had a bath/shower facility it would be a top pick every time.
Pros: The hosts (this is basically a B and B) are very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable of the area museums, food, galleries, and ceramics schools. The breakfast was delicious and different each day. Care went into making it. Nice comfortable room with toilet, that is attached to house. No shower or bath but owner will drive you to very nice onsen each day for more luxurious bathing experience. They lent me a bicycle to get around town for free, and will be your driver for 1000y a day (which was a good deal). Lovely backyard garden with trail to small shrine that continues up through forest for short walks. They speak more than just basic English which is nice for cultural exchange.
Cons: If you are looking for a lot of privacy you may be better in hotel. Between breakfast and onsen and driving there’s a good amount of interaction with hosts.
Pros: Cozy and comfortable. Helpful and friendly hosts. Peaceful area backed up to the woods. Good breakfast.
Cons: No shower in room. Tokens for a public bath are given instead which was great, but a shower would be convenient to have too.
Designed for adults only, Hotel Vanilla Komaki is a love hotel located in Komaki. Free private parking is available on site. Nagoya Dome is a 32-minute train ride away from Komaki Station. Nagoya is 18 km from Hotel Vanilla Komaki, while Yokkaichi is 46 km from the property. The nearest airport is Chubu Airport, 50 km from the property. Each room at this love hotel is air conditioned and comes with a flat-screen TV. Each room has a private bathroom fitted with a bath. For your comfort, you will find slippers and free toiletries. You will find a 24-hour front desk at the property. A simple complimentary breakfast is offered to all guests.
Pros: I like the room ambiance and supportive staff.
Cons: The hotel is in a remote location and no near by public transport. The entrance of the hotel is little scary accessible. The staff doesn't know about the proper bill making.
Pros: We only booked this hotel due to ending up in Nagoya unexpectedly (earthquake in Sapporo) and there was nothing else available. Despite our initial reservations having never stayed in a love hotel before we were surprised by how good the hotel was. The bedroom and bathroom were both exceptionally large and the breakfast, although limited, was very good.
Cons: The location was not ideal - about 18kms outside Nagoya and not served by a train or subway station. We had to take a taxi there which cost us Yen 6,500. It is probably best for those who have a car as the hotel has a large car park. In addition the air conditioning was quite noisy but this could have been our fault as the instructions were all in Japanese and therefore we may not have been operating it correctly.
Located in Komaki, HOTEL JOY -ADULT ONLY is within a 15-minute drive of Nagoya Castle and Nagoya City Science Museum. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: We didn't understand about their security system (for leaving and entering the room you had to inform the receptionist). And no one could speak English.
Pros: Rooms are plenty and have very diverse style from one to another (to suit different couple's tastes). But all of them are huge and well insonorized. Huge TV, huge bath/shower, coffee, tea and countless ameneties in the room. USB and 110V as well as all light switches by the bed!!! A REAL hotel room! Bed is futon on top of normal bed... big and comfy... Note : ONLY for "couples" or single business traveller. Privacy assured. Please note : Maybe hard to figure out how things works if you're not familiar with Japanese culture, (except at check-in, you're not supposed to see staff, and you gotta call before getting out of the room) but just don't ask questions about why this, why that or try to ask about where is the closest supermarket or tourist place, because this place is strickly business : Pay, *sleep/enJOY*, check out. Keep it simple. 'Gotta pay in cash and you get the change when getting out. AND : Conversational Japanese is a must. (Glad I am fluent enough!)
Pros: Very comfortable place.
Cons: The bath is very small.
Pros: Hotel Joy is great value, the rooms are huge and well equipped, and staff are lovely. If you don’t speak any Japanese you might struggle to interact with them, but overall they were very kind and helpful. It’s in an odd location, but despite this, it’s surprisingly quiet. Drive there or take a taxi, as walking isn’t very safe (it’s right on a major road).
Cons: The bed isn’t comfortable unfortunately. It’s a Japanese style futon mattress, which is quite thin, on top of a box spring. It’s not the worst bed I’ve slept in, but if you aren’t used to thin, firm beds, you’re in for a shock!
Located in Komaki, Meitetsu Komaki Hotel is within a 15-minute drive of Nagoya Castle and Nagoya City Science Museum. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Excellent japanese breakfast, including breads and fresh fruit. Also crisp white bed linens and extra.pillows!
Cons: Room air circulation was poor. Facing west afternoon sun added to the uncomfortable room warmth. There was no control available to.improve temperature level.
Pros: I liked the comfortable rooms and location and cleanliness
Pros: With family in Komaki this hotel was ideally situated.Access to the subway meant easy access into Nagoya. This stay was a return after staying there (and being impressed) in 2016
Pros: The hot spring in the basement as well as the breakfast (included) were very good
Cons: During our stay, we were quite shocked by the condition of the rug and the walls in the hall. There were stains everywhere and it looks like the rug has not been changed since decades... It leaves a bad impression of the hotel (considering the price)
Pros: The big room.
Pros: Room and location
Cons: Expensive :room a bit too small for this price.
Pros: Not to far from sightseeing attractions and some night life. Located next to the train station.
Cons: Nothing to not like about this hotel. Not to far from sightseeing attractions and some night life. Located next to the train station.
Pros: Room comfortable, clean, free parking in the multi story car park next door. The staff was very kind and even guided me how to access the car park. Efficient check in/check out. Right located above the Komaki station.

With a stay at Hotel Plaza Kachigawa in Kasugai, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Tokugawa Art Museum and Nagoya Dome. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: * next to Kachigawa station. 2min walk * close to Nagoya city * grand lobby * nice view of the city and train station * clean room and bathroom * early check in (1400) and late check out (1200/noon) * restaurants within facility
Cons: * no onsite laundry room * bed was extremely firm. I can feel the spring pressing against me. I didn’t have a good night sleep.
Pros: The staff were kind and helpful. They allowed me to check in about 2 hours early! This is a beautiful hotel with pristine rooms located right next to Kachigawa Station, and yet the trains didn’t disturb me at all. Nice view, too!
Cons: I wish they had shared more information about breakfast. I found out too late that it was only until 9:00 am. I should have put a “do not disturb” sign on my door the first morning. I was awakened while sleeping off a migraine!
With a stay at Hotel Route-Inn Toki in Toki, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Tajimi Monasteries and Sasado Onsen. Featured amenities include laundry facilities and a vending machine.
Pros: I love the bacon and bread!
Cons: Sunny side up egg?
Pros: Near to premium outlet
Cons: Nothing to complain abt
Cons: They don't write breakfast menu in English. It's hard to understand.
Pros: price and location
Pros: Reasonably clean and comfortable, and while Toki is pretty bland and boring, a short drive will get you to both Nagoya, rural Gifu prefecture, and Kiso Mountains. A good stop on the road. What you would expect of a 3-star hotel; nothing more, nothing less. Free parking.
Cons: The price for one night is noticeably more than what I have had at really good 3-star hotels in both major cities (e.g. Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagoya), and at "touristy" destinations (seaside/lakeside/mountains). A mediocre (but acceptable) hotel in place like Toki should not be more costly than any of the above. More so if considering that the "western" side of the breakfast buffet was meh at best.
Pros: It was good place just 500 meter from the Toki station. Staff was cooperative and things were in place what is expected from a 3 star hotel. Breakfast has western components.
Cons: 1. No English speaking staff. They just somehow survive with non-Japanese speaking guests. 2. Breakfast menus written all in Japanese and impossible to understand what is kept for eating. 3. No provision for currency exchange.
When you stay at Seto Park Hotel in Seto, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Iwayado Park and Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Museum. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: breakfast was great. Very quiet and comfortable.
Cons: The terrible thing was staffs at night cannot speak English at all. Even basic communication was impossible. And out of my room window, the house was right next to so i couldnt open the window. No view of course.
Pros: Calm and quiet location within shrine grounds
Cons: Not much open late at night around the hotel - but this wouldn't be an issue if you came prepared.
Pros: comfy beds great neighborhood near a cool walking street and pottery shops, plus next to a Shrine large room (quadruple) great towels nice and quiet friendly staff - especially the breakfast ladies!!! yummy breakfast free parking coffee machine in the lobby and at breakfast
Cons: the carpets could be updated the breakfast options could get old if you stay there more than 2 nights
With a stay at Hotel Route-Inn Tajimi Inter in Tajimi, you'll be just steps from Oniiwa Onsen and Yamagami Onsen. Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and laundry facilities.
Pros: The room was very clean and calm despite a little bit noisy air conditioning. The buffet of breakfast is generous, diverse, mostly of Japanese style, and good.
Cons: Do not expect to have a staff fluent in english. They are very kind but are not too much able to communicate in english.
Pros: Good location Good Wifi
Pros: Nothing. Really nothing!
Cons: I booked 3 rooms but the staff separated 3 rooms in 3 different floors! Since the other two rooms were for the elderly, I requested the staff to give me all rooms in one floor. He finally did it but need my insistence. I booked non-smoking rooms but the cigarette smell was strong in the rooms. The mattress was convex in shape and I was the first time that I came across in my 30 years travel!
Pros: Nice breakfast. Comfortable onsen.
Cons: The bed was hard.
Cons: The bed mattress was terrible. It was as flat as pancake and as solid as wood floor. Even prisons might have better mattresses. So sad....
Pros: We arrived after 2am from our outing and there were only 1 disabled parking left, but the staff member allowed us to use the parking. I was late for breakfast and the dining room was closed, but i was allowed to eat with the staff. Full marks to the staff on day and night shift.
Cons: The beds were super hard. I had stiff neck the next day

Cons: Bathroom is bit small but still not bad.
Pros: Kind staff and nice breakfast
Cons: Location is little...and smoking smell is full of the room. Always need fresh air. Bed is not bad but not good.
Pros: Comfortable bed
Cons: Hard to find the place with entering hotel phone number into GPS.
Pros: close to the airport which was handy for me and the shopping experience locally.
