Located in Nishimorokata, GOKURAKU ONSEN TAKUMI NO YADO is within a 10-minute drive of Ojibaru Park and Sano Shrine. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The Onsen is particularly great for the quality of the water and the excellence of the bathing installations.
Pros: Everyone was very kind to us and the service at the hotel was perfect! Also, in the onsen I had a great time with the grandmothers of the village next to the onsen!
Cons: Check out time and breakfast too early. But in our case it doesn't affected us as we had to leave very early in the morning.
Pros: Everything was amazing. The ladies there were delightful and exceedingly polite as ever, the baths were wonderful and the food was incredible. So happy to have been able to come back here.
Pros: The onsen is great (gender separated), with a sauna and 4 different baths (cold to scalding) including an open-air hot sulfur bath which you can enjoy until 10pm. The staff is very nice, and we really enjoyed their smiles and kindness. Be aware that no one speaks english and all the information is in Japanese (including the menus). The lady who welcomed us luckily used a translator so we could still communicate a bit. The countryside around is very nice and peaceful. Breakfast is good (japanese breakfast).
Cons: The place boasts free wifi but it was not working at all when we were there, and NTT Docomo 3G roaming was not available there either: we felt a bit remote, which may be good, but also a little cumbersome when you are trying to plan your day or to get the GPS direction to the nearest ATM... We had dinner at the restaurant, the food is a bit pricey and not as excellent as what we tasted in Aso mountains, but still fairly good.
Pros: Served with vegetables of the season. Choice of ingredients and taste were healthy and well proportioned. Volume of food and salt were well balanced. You can feel the taste of the ingredients!
Cons: Wish we can have an indoor bathroom.
Pros: The staff were really nice. The room was great. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The private onsen was excellent and the public onsen/bathroom was great with 4 baths including an outdoor one. Keep in mind that it's a little remote and slightly pricey but you definitely get what you pay for.
Pros: The traditional facilities. The friendliness of the staff. The food was good and service excellent.
Cons: If the staff could communicate more in English it would have been better.

Pros: the room and the inside hot spring is good
Cons: the public hot spring is too small & old, the staff is too young and they dont know how to service the customer
Pros: Excellent room; comfortable futon beds. Excellent breakfast. Very good baths with indoor and outdoor hot pools.
Cons: Was not walking distance to anything.
Pros: A very unexpected surprisingly nice stay here! We were just on the way to Kagoshima from Miyazaki and so glad that we found this little gem. Good value for money as you have a private onsen in your room but also have a spacious public onsen. Service was superb as expected but the food was even more amazing. Have already told a few friends about this place and definitely will visit again for more nights!
Cons: Was a bit difficult to find but otherwise no complain at all
Pros: 1. Amazing dinner and breakfast, the steak was so delicious that I'm appreciate that I had booking the dinner service. 2. Beautiful tradition style garden. 3. Nice and well trained staff.
Cons: 1. The location to the nearest station had about 2 km, it's recommend self-drive, we had reserved shuttle bus through booking.com but it didn't appear on time, so we need to get there by feet, but they drived us to the station on the next morning.
Pros: This is a very nice place for relaxing, everything was over my expectation.
Cons: No washing machine
