Pros: we have stayed here twice before as we have friends in the area. it is a nice hotel and the service has improved over the years.
Cons: the only complaint we had was that the pillows were not very comfortable and maybe the towels could be of better quality. we were disappointed that there are no tea and coffee making facilities in ...
Pros: Evening Buffett was excellent. Good hot food choices. The hotel is under renovation, but will be even better when all facilities are available.
Cons: Room was too hot - no AC, no fan available. Left the windows open all night, but was noisy.
Pros: Although not the most modern hotel, it was perfectly clean (also wellness area). We where there for cycling; it was a perfect location.
Cons: The hotel is focussed on elderly people, making us by far the youngest couple at stay. In the evening it stays very calm in the hotel, if not for the awfull singer/pianist in the bar on fridays...
Pros: The woodland setting is attractive and the short downhill walk is convenient for access to the town. A very well appointed and clean hotel, including an excellent swimming pool/spa. High quality ...
Cons: Staff are friendly and efficient but have limited English and I had to rely heavily on my rather 'rusty' German. Hard to access wifi/hotspot.
Pros: Sauna area has a good level, even swimming pool 20 meters is Ok

Pros: the breakfast is very good. the indoor pool is big enough.
Cons: The program of the outdoor pool is too short....until 6 P.M.
Pros: It was reasonable.
Cons: Nothing great about it. My daughter said it was like a hospital. Breakfast was ok.
Pros: Hotel reminds old communist time of mass vacations. Biggest breakfast table on the world ;)
Pros: Very nice hotel, great location for family with children. Only bit too far from Oberhof which was the whole purpose of staying. Cant complain considering Biathlon World Cup there and most hotels sold...

You can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant and visit the spa to be pampered with hot stone massages, facials, or mani/pedis. A bar/lounge and a fitness center are other highlights, and rooms offer flat-screen TVs and free WiFi.
Pros: Very good breakfast. Comfortable accommodation. Attractive locality. Good value
Cons: The hotel was not manned at night, nor were there any facilities e.g bar facilities available in the evenings
Pros: Delightful Inn in small German town with real Old World charm, and very friendly and helpful staff/owner. This hotel is along the old main street, which is a narrow cobble street. Very infrequent car traffic so road noise is minimal. Behind are the well-forested surrounding hills. A self-serve breakfast with various breads/buns, jams, and sliced cold meats was delicious. I was concerned that my room directly above the restaurant part of the hotel would be noisy, but I didn't hear anything from below, nor did I notice any smoking odors. Much less expensive and roomier than the large hotel on the hill (10 minutes) where my conference took place.
Pros: We wanted a few days away with our granddaughter from Berlin and found the Deutscher Hof excellent. Very comforable with friendly staff.
Pros: the friendly service
Cons: rooms did not seem to be non-smoking
Pros: The hotel is not an upscale experience which is one of its charms. It has the feel of an old large inn/ski lodge in the center of town. The rooms are large and have lovely views of the beautiful surrounding Thuringian Forest in addition to the sound of a stream sluicing by. The buffet breakfast was good though not as vast and varied as some we enjoyed on our trip. The walk from the rail station is a bit of a hike with luggage, though the trainride to Friedrichroda is lovely and fun. The area is loaded with hiking opportunities. The hotel is a good deal for the money and the staff very friendly.
When visiting Georgenthal, Hotel Rodebachmühle is a great choice to consider. Guests can indulge in massages, and Zur Tenne, one of 2 restaurants, serves breakfast and dinner. Other highlights include a bar/lounge, a fitness center, and a sauna.
