Pros:My girlfriend and I stayed at BLR for the weekend and had a blast. We took the 90 minute Moziac ferry from Tinah terminal straight to immigration at BLR resort and it was super easy. BLR is definitely going through some renovations but both pools were open and the staff was kind and accommodating the whole weekend. The beach restaurant Neyalan was awesome, the wait staff was so nice and always had smiles on their faces. It's a great spot to enjoy lunch or dinner and has reasonably priced food and drinks, especially compared to Singapore. Our only complaint was the lack of information about the tar on the beaches. I don't know what happened off the coast of Bintan but there is no shortage of tar on the beach. BLR does a good job of cleaning it but no matter what, if you go to the beach you will get tar on your feet. We don't have kids but BLR had numerous activities for the kiddos. If you're looking for a short weekend beach trip from Singapore and don't mind some tar on your feet I would recommend Bintan Lagoon Resort.
