Pros: The family is wonderful. Celso is wonderfully helpful. He'll carry your luggage and give you a complete rundown of what to see and do on the island. The food is simple, but good. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is beautiful. Great way to spend a day/ night on the island.
Cons: Need to bring your own soap and towel if you want to shower
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very warm, friendly and accommodating family. Great views, quaint garden, comfortable facilities! An experience we will never forget in such a peaceful, beautiful setting.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location and views
Cons: Not the authentic stay we had imagined . The hosts didn’t eat with us , not much interaction and insight into everyday life. The hosts were very nice however and looked after us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved staying on Taquile island with Celso and his family. We got to experience the island after all the tourists are gone home and enjoy the peace and quiet. I loved the authentic meals that Celso and his wife provided and would recommend the experience to anyone :)
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible! Extraordinary experience with a family we ve never forgotten. Everyone should know. The place, a familia, really. I don't have words In spite of our personal difficulties and without knowing each other, you show a deep attention. Thanks for all.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: We had great time with Celso and his family, they cooked delicious dinner and the accomodation was clean and cozy. If you are looking to spend time with locals, away from busy tourist lications Taquile Island is an amazing place where you can find sand beaches, friendly people and great views over Peru and snowy mountains of Bolivia! Highly recommended for real travelers!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Celsio is such a kind and helpful host
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Celso family are really friendly. He gave us activities to do, a nice walk on the first day visiting Inca ruins and a great viewpoint for sunset (although his hand drawn map wasn’t too accurate and we got lost a few times!). Another nice walk in the morning to the beach on the other side of the island. Room was better than expected with it being on such a small island. Breakfast and dinner were ok.
Cons: Overpriced by Peruvian standards, felt like the whole island was a bit of a tourist trap. Dinner should be included in the price and not an added extra as there is literally nowhere else to eat in the evening. Shower wasn’t hot in the morning.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The family and the culture
Cons: Far away from the main square
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are simple but absolutely lovely and the hose is very nice with a great view! The family is very nice and really helpful. Absolutely would recommend the island and the family!

Pros: Osvaldo is a great host and the Lodge is wonderful and built with love. Food is absolutely delicious made by the caring hands of Cecilia. Life in Amantani is slow and beautiful. Muchas gracias Osvaldo for the great stay, hasta pronto!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: They were one of the nicest people we met in Peru. The view to the lake was excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was very clean, with an amazing view and the nicest hosts you could ask for!! The food was really really good and the amenities excellent. I would recommend to anyone who wants to sleep on Amantani but doesn’t feel too comfortable with staying in a family’s home, this was a perfect compromise. Will definitely be coming back there ASAP.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is incredible with a view of the lake. A very tipical local lodge but with all comforts: clean rooms and hot water. The food reflects the local tastes of the area: hand-made products, quality and unique character. The family is very kind and lovely. A very good experience.
Cons: All was perfect.
7.1 Good
Pros: Anna is a wonderful hostess and her cooking is exceptional. No shower or hot water though
Cons: Very hard to get to the island.. you have to go on a tour
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything.. I really enjoyed my stay with Osvaldo and his family, the house is lovely, the view is stunning, food great (I am vegetarian), he walked me to the top of the mountain and he told about his life, the island, the life in Perù... Exactly what I was expecting!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredibly nice hosts - Anita and Oswaldo, Anita took care of everything, cooked amazing food, Oswaldo made us a delicious breakfast next day and gave us a little souvenir to remind us of our stay on the island. We had the best shower in Peru so far, which is amazing considering we were on a remote island on Lake Titicaca. The bed was totally comfortable and with the four woolen blankets we weren't cold even on the cold island's night. Waking up to the reflection of the sunrise on the waters of Titicaca lake made it an unforgettable experience. The island itself is a pearl, we are so happy we had the chance to visit.
Cons: There was nothing to complain about.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The house of Osvaldo is a real gem in the middle of Isla Amantaní, the place is amazing, peaceful and surrounded by nature! Osvaldo’s family is lovely and we had great time: hiking the Pachatata with the guide he provided us has been unforgettable and all the meals, eaten in a big room with an amazing view, were definitely good. Our room was very big and clean, as the bathrooms (outside, one each floor but with hot water in the shower, not that common in the island).
Cons: Even if the beds are provided with very heavy blankets (more like carpets) I almost didn’t manage to sleep for the cold. Keep in mind that there aren’t plugs in the room, so bring your power bank for charging the phone:)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is the perfect place to disconnect from reality for few days and recharge batteries. Although it is located near the port of Occosuyo, there are no other houses around so that is very peaceful. It faces a small bay and the view is enchanting. We woke up early in the morning and we were able to see the sunrise from our window when we were still in the bed. Osvaldo is a very nice person, it was interesting to spend some time with him! He is also a good cook and he was a lot of ideas to develop his lodge. I wish him good luck!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place and location, right in front of the lake. Very good meals, at 10$ each.
Cons: Nothing in particular. FYI: due to the rotation system of the hosting communities, you may need to walk from one side of the island to the other, in order to reach the lodge. Is a 1 hour walk, but totally worth it!

Pros: Really nice owners of a stunning place. Amazing views over Lake Titicaca. Very quiet. Delicious food. Tasteful decorated rooms with comfortable beds. They offer to do your laundry. Nice walks to secluded beaches. Parking available. Close to the harbour where the boat to Amantine island leaves. In fact, you could easily stay here a few days. Take the early boat to the island, walk to Papatata and Papamama and take the late boat back to enjoy this perfect place once more.
Cons: No Internet, but who needs that in paradise. Just bring some books. We should have stayed longer.

Cons: a bit overpriced at 70dol/night. hot showers only in the late afternoon (solar panels), rooms were not done everyday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone is lovely and making sure your stay is great. The property is simple and tasteful. We had 3 nights that were incredibly restful. We had never “heard” such silence in a long time.
Cons: Good to know that you’re away from everything so stock up on water, snacks, shampoo etc before you get there. Also know the hot shower takes a while (solar panels up the hill), and then it’s really hot and we didn’t manage to temperate but to us this was only minor. We still really enjoyed having a hot shower!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The view on the lake is amazing and Walter and Mariela are so kind and helpful :-)
Cons: The room was veeeeery cold at night, even colder than our tent during our hike.

Pros: Taquile is perfect to calm down a little, enjoy the silence and nature. The blankets keep you warm in the Peruvian winter nights. Ines is a lovely host. She told us her story, cooked tasty dinner, prepared awesome breakfast and let us know a little bit about Taquile's culture. She licked us up from the harbour, thus did everything to make our stay comfortable and pleasant.
Cons: Everything was perfectly fine. People staying a night at Taquile should know that comfort is lower than in bigger cities, instead you can enjoy the nature and silence.

Pros: If you are looking for an authentic cultural experience away from tourist row come here. This takes one back in time to an era when man lived off the land supplying himself with the needs of daily sustenance. It's the native culture which existed 40 years ago and 400 years ago. The area of Lake Titicaca is pristine, remote and pleasantly quiet and tranquil. It's totally unique! Grabrielle assisted us in every way and invited us into her family's home, made of the area's adobe brick, to eat. Throughout we talked with her and her family about life and customs there. We experienced real native culture with them not a show for tourists. The boat ride out to the island was so cool too. Thanks Gabrielle!

Pros: Only Staff were super friendly and good chef!
Cons: Location, is far away from everything, is not a hotel, is a "hostel". The best room of the house was ultra cold, humid dark, all is like done like more than 30 years ago! We all had a super bad night. Very disappointed and could not understand for what we paid 330$ and would like to claim the money back for the accommodation.
