Le Coeur Des Iles - Beaugency - Building
1
9.7 Excellent (96 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely spot with fantastic facilities. The breakfast was divine and the host so charming. Great night sleep during our road trip. The pool looked so inviting.
Cons: Nothing at all
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The spacious family room and romantic setting
10.0 Excellent
Pros: No complaints at all. Laetitia is a very, very good host. Room is perfect, breakfast as well. It was nice that we could use the swimming pool. If we are in that region again, we are sure that we go to Laetitia again.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. The host is a gem. Best breakfast ever, freshly made by Laeticia. From jam to cakes absolutely delicious. Loved the pool, garden and the lovely private apartment...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Many accolades. The room - spacious, comfortable, lovely decor and little perks like Biotherm package and local apple juice. Generous breakfast. The use of a fridge and washing machine. Warm pool with lovely deck. Laeticia went out of her way to make us welcome. When our travel plans had to be changed Laeticia and Bruno accommodated us which helped us beyond words. Many, many thanks to this lovely family.
Cons: Sad to leave.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is amazing and so is the hostess. I wish I could give a rating of 11 as everything is just so perfect! We were on our way to Portugal with our dog and needed a place to stay one night, close to the highway. What we found was a real gem and it felt much more as if we stayed at a very hospitable friend`s house. It is so comfortable, cosy and homey and you get the most delicious breakfast in the morning. I can highly recommend Le Coeur des Isles.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Being greeted with a cold beer and a heated swimming pool was ideal after a long days drive. Delightful Décor, excellent breakfast.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Laetitia is a wonderful host. She tries hard to please her guest. She could give lessons to many b&b owners on how to correctly manage a b&b. She is charming and delightful. Her accommodations are very nice and roomy. In the early evening sitting by the pool with a glass of wine is great. Breakfast is all we could ask for. If visiting the Loire valley spend 2 or 3 nights using Laetitia's as a base. Good restaurants nearby.
Cons: The location is a little hard to find but it is quiet and comfortable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We travel a fair amount, both domestically (US) and internationally (Europe). There are certain requirements we have when booking a room or apartment: clean, comfortable, and quiet. Le Coeur de Iles met those requirements, and far more! Our host, Laeticia, was so warm and friendly. Breakfast was divine (my daughter particularly liked the homemade caramel cake and madelines). The room itself was private, quite large, with comfortable beds, and was exceptionally clean. All of this things were received for a very fair price.
Cons: Since we were there for one night as a quick stopover between the Loire Valley and Versailles, the property’s location was a little more off the beaten path than we expected. Not far, about 10-15 minutes to the highway, just further than we thought, and after a very long day of driving, we didn't feel like venturing back out to go in search of dinner.

Pros: Wonderful host. Very helpful and friendly. Thank you for your little welcome gifts!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The family room was an excellent size - two very comfortable double beds. Shower plus addition shower over the bath and two toilets. Good fans provided in the room although we didn’t find it too hot in the room anyway. Use of a fridge freezer. Nice selection of breakfast choices. Lovely pool and gardens - very relaxing. Hosts were wonderful. Short drive to Beaugency with shops and restaurants. Lovely river walks and also use of bikes for nice cycle along the river too.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A very charming place to stay, authentic and clean, with a huge shared garden. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. There are several things to see and to do within a 30min drive distance.

Pros: Beautiful house, nice surroundings. Marie is a terrific host. I really recommend a stay here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First visit to France. Travelled with our own car from Scotland from Portsmouth to Le Harve on a Brittany Ferry. We drove 3.5 hours from the ferry port to a lovely French Village called Lailly-en-val. We arrived slightly earlier than we thought we would, so parked up outside our accommodation and took a short wander around the picturesque village. Marie, our host, kindly came and met us & welcomed us earlier as the villagers had told her we had arrived. Already felt at home. Marie has a truly beautiful property. We opted for the self catering gîte as this suited as a family but she does offer beautiful b&b bedrooms in an impressive house. The gîte has a modern but traditional feel. Shutters, grape vines, flowers surrounded our little haven giving us the French vibe we wanted. Two beautiful bedrooms, spotlessly clean, a nice living area, modern, well equipped kitchen & huge bathroom. It was perfect for us!! View of the gardens and the shared pool was just an added bonus. The church bells chimed every hour. A traditional boullangerie (bakery) and a wee shop are nearby. There are larger supermarkets within a 15 mins drive, Hyper U and Super U - similar to Tesco/Asda etc. Having a car was essential and this allowed us to explore the Loire Valley. Chateau Chambord is only a short half hour drive via picturesque villages. The city of Orléans is just over 35 mins drive and definitely worth a visit, by far the prettiest city I have visited. Beaugency, is only 10 mins away and has a real bustle about it. Cafes, restaurants and some shops. Parking in France is very easy and not at expensive if not free! We pre booked tkts from Beaugency train station (via Trainline) to Paris. It took only 1.5 hours. We spent 7 hours and did the main landmarks. We will definitely return to Paris when we have more time. Marie & her family welcomed us and always around it we ever needed anything. Incredibly professional, friendly and a credit to her business!

9.3 Excellent (173 reviews)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly even though we were late to arrive.
Cons: I didn't feel comfortable with the door to be unlocked to our room in the morning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A warm welcome from the owners made us forget the about the traffic jams on the way. For sure we will visit again, and probably stay a little longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts, very helpful and super friendly, invited us to enjoy the beautiful pool, huge, tree-shaded backyard, fragrant, abundant roses amazing lawn sculptures. Delicious breakfast with great coffee and exotic fruit every morning, soft croissants, delicious jams and honey, yogurt, cheese, and so on. I will definitely book again the next time I'm in the vicinity! Being so close to the lovely, picturesque Medieval town of Beaugency was delightful! We tried a terrific restaurant there every night, ate en plein aire most of the time.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, friendly welcome. Secure parking. Very quiet and a peaceful place to relax. Within easy reach of some nice local villages.
Cons: Nothing. I liked everything.
7.0 Good
Pros: This is a good option for families on a stop-over, and is much better value than a hotel if you want separate rooms. It's like a little gite attached to a main house. The kids had a very large upstairs room with 2 singles. Downstairs, there's a main lounge / diner, with the bedroom with a double bed off this - it's open to the main room, just a screen to separate, which was no problem for us. There is a small kitchenette attached and a bathroom with shower off this. The kitchen has a door which separates it from the main house and you go through this to have breakfast in the morning. Everything was very clean. The house is very old with gorgeous stone and wood, and the garden pretty to look out on. We didn't use the pool so can't comment on this. The breakfast was good with nice jam and lovely bread.
Cons: The pillows were very lumpy and it would be nice to have 2 each on the bed instead of just 1. It also smelt somewhat damp when we arrived through once the heating warmed up, this disappeared.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly welcome, beautifully decorated, excellent breakfast. Locstion very good for a stop over to spend a few days in the area or just an overnight when touring.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were fantastic, chatty and very welcoming. The place was beautiful, very well thought out and distinctive. Ideal location for us to stop between the ferry port and the south of France. Also the breakfast was amazing- good fresh local food.
Cons: We booked as liked the idea of cooking and pictures showed hobs. When we were arrived we were told we couldn’t use these due to it being winter and that we were only staying a night. It wasn’t too bad though as you can get pizza from a place 5mins walk away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Madame and Monsieur were extremely friendly and helpful and gave us a very warm welcome. We shall definitely return and will recommend to friends.
Cons: Nothing- it was a great place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A dream come true ... we only stopped for one night but it’s totally worth a longer stop. Beautiful room, amazing garden in fairytale style, great pool, amazing hosts who made you feel at home. We’ll definitely come back ...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great stay at this cozy house. Everything was perfect with the house and the hosts were great, nice and very helpful. I am Gluten Intolerant and Beátrice was very concerned, so she did prepare an excellent breakfast with gluten free ingredients. Wonderful reception. Would definitely go back, when in the area
Cons: The only thing was the rainy weather, out of season, but hosts, house, reception, food, location and parking, excellent !!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: We spent one night here in the family room for my family of 5. It was lovely, and we all wished we could have stayed one more day. The location is tucked away in a small town, and is a quiet place if you have just left the city. Staff was very friendly and spoke English well, which was a plus as we are working on our French. The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was very good, we even bought a jar of the homemade jam to take with us. We spent an hour in the pool in the morning and it was very relaxing.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were part of a set of farm house and buildings and so in the country and very quiet. Our hosts spoke no English (and I speak no French) but they were wonderful and kind and we figured it all out. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and had private bathrooms and my kids enjoyed playing outside in the large yard. Breakfast was delicious, mainly on the sweet side with croissants and bread and jams and a wonderful apple tart. We had a lovely stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: In what looks like a more or less deserted area this is a beautiful domaine. As soon as you pass through the gate it feels like an oasis of tranquility. The room was very large with a nice view. The owners are very sweet and breakfast is great. We went to Beaugency for diner and that is a beautiful medieval village with many restaurants to choose from (from tourist menu to michelin stars).
Cons: The bed was a bit short for my partner who is admittedly taller than the average frenchman :-)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The hosts were great and adorable. The house was clean and the breakfast was delicious.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: A beautiful quiet location in the middle of France, wonderful nights sleep and amazing breakfast
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful hosts - we were significantly delayed (arriving at midnight!) but this was not a problem. Beautiful old house in a quiet, rural setting. Very comfortable beds, superb breakfast. Wish we had been staying longer than 1 night to really appreciate it!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We were thrilled by the gracious welcome from our hosts. They worked very hard at communicating when my French is so poor. They assisted us immensely with our bicycles. We stayed with them twice on our trip to France in 2 different rooms. Both were large and comfortable with large up to date bathrooms. Best shampoo of the trip. Christiane packed our breakfast for us when we needed an early start to the airport. There is a large sitting room for guests to share. We appreciated Christiane and Jackie's hospitality.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location: easy to walk into beautiful city. Good parking facilities.
Cons: No coffee maker in room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here before and love the location and the fact that they have off street parking. The pool was lovely and they have now opened a small bistro adjacent to the hotel. It is great value for money for the room.
Cons: We would have preferred a walk in shower (which we had last year) rather than a shower over the bath which wet the floor through when you had a shower. We will ask for a walk in shower when we stay again. The bistro seemed new and the staff were a little disorganised so the service was a little slow. The breakfast is overpriced so we didn't have it.
5.5 Okay

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Payment for the rooms is cash only and it wasn’t mentioned anywhere. Everything else was perfect.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very polite staff
7.5 Good
Pros: The lady , Anne , who welcomed us & prepared the wonderful breakfasts was lovely , very kind & friendly . We liked it that each room had its own little private terrace so we could sit outside in the evening & we enjoyed being so near to Chambord which was the purpose of our visit . It was wonderful having the pool as it was so very hot .
Cons: The many things that didn't work properly . The doors were very difficult to lock , we had a light bulb missing & , despite several requests , it was never replaced . The ventilator fan had been assembled incorrectly as had the shutter in the bathroom . The rings holding up the shower curtain were upside down making it difficult to draw the curtain . Also , it was about 30° & there was no fridge . All these small things spoiled what could have been a perfect visit . Then , we discovered on the penultimate day that it was either cash or cheque to settle the bill . As we rarely carry a cheque book it meant that we both had to scuffle around drawing out money that day & the next because of our daily limit on withdrawals . If we had not found this out we would have been unable to pay ...then what ?
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was light and very clean with own private terrace to sit out and relax or whatever. The owner was extremely helpful and recommended a good restaurant. We enjoyed the very generous breakfast with everything one could wish for. We cycled from there to Chambord Castle and then to Blois and back. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the pool which was heated and cleaned every day.
Cons: They don't accept credit cards but fortunately we had enough cash with us.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location convenient for autoroute and chateaux. Breakfast good. Private terrace a real bonus.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice Place with a nice hostcouple. Very helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Most of things was great. Facilities are really modern and comfortable. Bedroom is quite spacious. Toilet really clean and big. Breakfast quite complete and with good taste. And all spaces in one level (groundfloor, no stairs...)
Cons: Well... The woman in charge was "extremely" nice and kind. She was so much that breakfast time was a bit complicated. Food and key things was great. All guests take breakfast together actually. But the woman presence controlled the whole breakfast time, creating a kind of weird atmosphere and feeling under pressure. Dont get me wrong, she did her best.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, quiet and friendly owners. Close to Chambord.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient, near the road. We were driving from the north to the south and this was the perfect accommodation to rest and continue driving the day after. Very easy to pick up the keys even if we arrived late at night. The breakfast wasn’t bad but it could be improved a little.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast. Good price.
Cons: Could not pay by card. Drive to accommodation full of potholes.

Pros: The lake and the ducks :) The accommodation is just what you should expect. They offer good facilities like refrigerator, electric stove, microwave.
Cons: Very tight schedule for check-in (17:00-19:00). Inadmissible for a touristic location. A bit of an odor in the room (probably from the lack of fresh air). Poor choices at breakfast. They didn't offer any plates :) Poor attitude considering they are involved in tourism. "We are a B&B, what do you expect".
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location of the B&B is perfect to have a rest after a long drive.
7.5 Good
Pros: The host, the room size, price, free breakfast.
Cons: Bed is uncomfortable, very hot in the top room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: + Hostess smiling and helpful, + Very quiet place with a little lake and ducks walking around, + Close to Chambord and Chevergny.
Cons: - The bathroom is not separated from the room by anything apart from a curtain on a metal cord which is not really fixed - it is not really convenient, - The stairs without handrails on one side - dangerous for the little kids.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location, the highlight being sitting outside on the terrace with drinks served by our hostess, looking out over the mill pond. Eloise really made us feel welcome and it was no problem arriving early (though we asked in advance). The room was modern and well appointed. Good breakfast around a communal kitchen table with the other guests. Memorable.
Cons: No negatives relating to the property. There is limited choice of evening meal in the village, depending on the day.

Cons: Only a curtain separates toilet from the bedroom
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We were pleasantly surprised by how nice the room was, with private bathroom. It is recently renovated in a tasteful manner, and located in a great position to experience Beaugency's old centre. We were so pleased, we booked an extra night. The breakfast, including eggs from the owner's hens, was generous and tasty.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff. Excellent breakfast on terrace. Well placed in town. Room on ground floor.
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly lady, delicious breakfast (we really appreciated the boiled egg). Good position to explore the town. Although our bikes had to stay outside it felt secure as there were high walls around the property.
Cons: Didn't affect us, but the toilet seat was high.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really lovely, kind lady runs the place. We arrived too early (1pm) with bikes and she allowed us to leave the bikes and bags in the room while we went off to a local cafe to watch England play in a World Cup match! I lost a small silver stud earring in the hotel room and when she cleaned the room she found it, text me and very kindly posted it to me back in the UK despite the high postage cost. Thank you! The owner of the nearby cafe also lovely, allowing us to watch an England football match on her outdoor TV screen in amongst an all-French clientele enjoying their very civilised lunches! All good camaraderie from the French though fuelled by our amazing 6-1 win over Panama. Shame our success didn't last to the end of the tournament, but congrats to the French for their overall victory. :) Breakfast was really lovely and the weather was warm enough for us to sit outside in the courtyard to eat.
Cons: I would prefer a door inbetween the bedroom and the bathroom. Us prim and proper Brits like a bit of privacy whilst going about our daily ablutions.

Pros: The restaurant is wonderful. The position is idyllic in what is a very busy little town in the Perigord. Staff were so friendly and helpful
Cons: The busy spiders around the lamps in the restaurant at night ... somewhat off-putting for the arachnophobes in my party!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff and cute town.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location at the river banks of the Loire and very close to the city center. The ancient building has been beautifully renovated and decorated.
Cons: Bathroom deserves renovation. The beers in the hotel bar are quite expansive.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The location
Cons: Had to move from first due to smell of sewage and general cleanliness. Second room was better, but bathroom dated and lacked tea and coffee facilities. Generally underwhelmed.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Not the cleanest of rooms lovely location. Restaurant closed Friday night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the breakfast was excellent
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This was our first stop on our trip through France and what a find. Excellent place to stay with so much character it would be difficult to put a price on it. The room was very good and again an amazing place to be in. The views to the river are very good and the hotel is situated well for local restaurants and I would recommend L'Idee Le Restaurant. Good walking areas especially along the river. Would definitely stay here again.
Cons: There was no restaurant or bar in the hotel however, local facilities were not far
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great room. Lovely evening meal and breakfast
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Our garden room was cool & quiet. Secure parking for our car & bikes. Good continental breakfast - plenty of choice.
Cons: En suite bathroom a bit 'tired'.

Pros: Very good breakfast, plenty of choice plus option to eat outside in very pleasant courtyard/garden. Location near the centre of town but a bit away from the river. Good base for touring the area.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Private off road parking for our motorcycles- a big plus for us ! Room not the largest but bed super comfy and great nights sleep. All the staff very friendly and helpful. Beaugency is a beautiful town with some outstanding old buildings.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner was friendly and helpful and spoke English. We had booked a parking space so as soon as we arrived and stopped on the busy road the gates were unlocked for us. The room was clean and comfortable, although it lacked character. The food was excellent. Eat inside or out at breakfast.
Cons: No provision to make a hot drink in the room.
7.0 Good

Cons: bathroom
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was quite central and our room was very clean , stayed here as part of a cycling holiday so we were happy to check in early and have a clean room to rest in
Cons: Unfortunately there was a heatwave when we stayed so air conditioning would have been a bonus!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This entire property is fabulous. The owner is lovely and friendly. Helped us with dinner reservations as well as with a problem with one of our bicycles. Above and beyond in that regard.
Cons: Liked everything. We were traveling by bicycle and really, you need a car to go out for dinner etc., so despite that, there is nothing not to like about this beautifully situated accommodation.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were made to feel very welcome .Lovely breakfast .
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast; all you'd expect from a small French hotel; room was tiny but perfectly good; just enough power points for all our devices to recharge; tiny shower but a good head of water! The location is very good; Beaugency is one of the smaller and lesser known Loire Valley towns, but has plenty of good restaurant options and is a good base for exploring that stretch of the river with all its history; it also has a little beach area with swimming and boating for those too tired or too hot to go to yet another chateau or winery! The hotel itself is well-situated at the end of a pretty little road right in the heart of the town with choice of a dozen restaurants all in walking distance
Cons: The hotel has a little bar area which for some reason - we should have asked - was not open on arrival Saturday early evening but was on the Sunday, and a cool craft beer was just what we needed!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Room very hot
8.8 Excellent
