Staff made excellent restaurant recommendations.
It must be more clean,
The room was very nice and clean and it had a big bathroom. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
A good hotel, close enough to the town centre, but far enough away to not be disturbed by it. Very friendly and helpful satff
Very staff, very clean hotel, I`ll enjoy to stay again at this hotel. Was a very good option for my family.
The hotel is comfortable and reasonably well located and it suited our group of five people.
Very friendly hotel staff. Able to have a smoking room if preferred and it did not smell. Parking was free and not 7 Euros per day as stated. Wireless Internet worked and was free. Good breakfast. Only a 10 minute walk from town. Raining and hotel staff lent me their own personal umbrella No English TV channels - would be nice it have at least an English speaking news channel! For the tennis and football however, it didn't matter! English people like to be able to make coffee in the room - but few European hotels offer this! Booking.com do not have the location right on the map (but I was aware of this but others may not be - it is near to the hospital and not the town as shown)
The service is very fast and practical. The room is simple but clean. The localization is not so special.
inclusive breakfast, free internet, clean and very good showers, window that opened. no English channels on the TV, bit of a hike to downtown Vic
The breakfast was good and cheep, 6 euros. There where free wi-fi in the room. Free parking on the street outside the hotel. The location wasn't to good. The room was nice but the hotel was quite old and havn't been renovated in years.
Excellent restaurant at very reasonable prices; fabulous breakfast; spacious room. Should there be anything to criticise it would be the restaurant being close sundays and mondays, whilst the advice to go elsewhere being poor.
Great room- tasteful decour, spotless, comfortable. The restaurant was closed despite us checking in advance that it would be open. Since the hotel is miles from town and we didn't have a car, this wasn't good. We got a taxi into Olot, but we struggled to get one back. It added 50EUR to our costs. Wouldn't stay there again.
We like very much the desing of the rooms, the small details the have. The breackfast is very good. And is very easy to find it.
Design of the rooms and overall appearance of the hotel is excellent. Staff was very professional and friendly. Breakfast excellent, well worth the money. Prices at the restaurant very good. Currently there is a lot of construction going on around which is not imputable to the hotel staff, of course, but it affects the experience.
Fabulous location and great facilties. The restaurant was outstanding and reasonably priced for the quality. Good storage for our bikes. Staff were extremely helpful and well trained. Breakfast was a bit of a let down - carton orange juice, some of fruit was way past its best . No one on reception on arrival - we had to wait over half an hour to check in
Gorgeous rooms, excellent staff, delicious food. Reasonable prices in the restaurant, fabulous breakfast, tasteful decor. Loved it.
visit the places we used to stay on vacations 30 years ago
Fierce air con and smell of local pig farm; grossly expensive and few facilities.
Stunning location. Utterly peaceful and relaxing with lovely grounds and amazing views. Food was good and staff very helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this paradour and hope to return one day.
The location was nice and the hotel was comfortable. The staff could have been warmer and breakfast could have been better.
The welcome was good, the room(with balcony) was excellent and the position and views were spectacular. Not over impressed with the choice on the menu for dinner
Beautiful location, a real surprise over the dam/lake.The hotel was wonderful, big rooms, view, could have stayed there forever. Sorry it was too cool for a dip, the pool looked so inviting. Thanks for the upgrade of room. We loved it. Good dinner and excellent breakfast!Recommended for families too.
The hotel is beautifully located, very quiet and there is a great swimming pool. The rooms are spacious, the views are great and food was good. Service at check-in was slow, room was not completely clean, info about things to do around hotel is limited. They indicate the activities but do not indicate distances, times etc etc. Prices of drinks and food at hotel are quite high.
Incredible views of the lake, so quiet up there, loved it! The tennis court was closed, it just needs a few days work to be ok again, don't know why they can't be bothered
Fantastic view on the lake, a bit remore but quite easy reach from Vic. Very nice hotel, modern. The best breakfast I know in 4* hotels, varied and very good quality. Restaurant (evening) not really at "gastronomic" level. Staff not very friendly.
We had a very large room. The dinner was good value! None whatever. The directions given by Booking.com was very hard to follow. But thanks to a police escort there we found it!
Beautiful lake view though you have to book a premium room The dinner was mediocre.
Magnificent setting, luxurious but relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and because of its remote position it is a real 'switch off' place, although town of Vic and city of Gerona within easy reach. We would love to go again.
Internet was not working.
Location is great, especially if you plan to tour the city and do some shopping.
The situation of the hotel I felt the breakfast was poor
Hotel was very clean and very close to city center. Staff was very helpful. I stayed in a single room and it was extremely tiny. Facilities could use a renovation. And the bed too.It was a bit noisy too, you could even hear other guests drying their hair in the next room and the wheels of the carry ons at 6am.Internet was overpriced.Breakfast was not very good and a bit expensive.
Toilet has only a glass door, which does'nt close hermetically.
i like the cleanliness of your room and receiptionists are friendly and polite. if you could provide free wifi internet at your hotel
It was a short strip to go to a wedding. so it was only somewhere to sleep, didn't go anywhere else
location excellent for touring in this area. Restaurant was more like a school canteen, lots of children running about around unsupervised. Food average. Not suitable for couples without children. Local restaurants in town not open at this time of year.
the peace and quiet finding out that you have to pay for the spa facilities. also the hot food was always luke warm so had to keep using the micro wave.
wery frendly, nice suranding. calm people. good breakfast. nice building. and the nater of Montseny, with the small viliges. made us hapy.
Location, views and rural position as described. Food excellent buffet/grill, choice of foods excellent. Room large, balcony useful. Room cleaning excellent and unobtrusive. Based on our experience, a mature coulple who left their children at home seeking peace and relaxation as described on the web site, we were disappointed to find the whole place taken over by families with 2 or 3 under fives. The restaurant was nothing short of a school dining hall at all meal times, noisy and unwelcoming to the couple seeking a glass of wine and quiet conversation. We realise it was the Easter holidays but would have appreciated the prior warning that the whole of Spain would be there on a family break. The web site should read "A child friendly resort for the under fives"
The friendly staff. Nice room.
The staff was excellent and did everything they could to make our stay in the hotel a pleasant experience
To our surprise the room are small apartments with a small kitchen, bedroom, bath room and livingroom. Rooms are clean and the personnel is friendly and speak english. The hotel is a 15 min walk of the city center of Olot, which is a picturesque town with trendy shops and restaurants. The nearby volcano park offers a great surrouding for a walk along volcanos (very old ones which are completely overgrown by green and dont have the appearance of rough smoking mountains still hot from the lava below). A real pricewinner is the trip to Ribes de Freser were you can take the train to Vall de Nuria, a monastery build in a valley about 2000m above sea level. The train ticket is a bit expensive 20 euro pp (return ticket) but the ride is spectacular We had no negative experiences.
Good safe parking. In a rather "run down" urban area.
The staff at the reception and in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. This made our short stay most enjoyable! The breakfast selection was generous, and it was delicious. The passages to the parking garage were extremely tight and also very steep into the garage, making it somewhat difficult to maneuver even our small car. However, this was not a very important factor in our stay, thus only a minor problem.
There was plenty of space and, though busy, it was very quiet. There was plenty of off road parking right outside and, although the tone of the area was not fantastic, it was only a 10 minute walk into the town. There was a very handy supermarket right opposite (we were "upgraded" into an appartment rather than the room we had booked. But that was great for us).
the breckfast nothing
spacious rooms, food, location, bed service in restaurant (variable), staff seems to loose their good spirits on a busy night.
The rooms were okay but not sound proof. The bathroom was large and nice. The food in the hotel resturant was great!! No internet access in the room. No towel service for the pool or beach. We had to buy towels that we threw away because we had no room to carry in our luggage.
Very nice and quiet place to sleep and stay for one night! Room was clean and bed very comfortable. After sleeping in many cities it was luxury to sleep on the mountains and have clean air and no noise from traffic. Good breakfast. Hotel is situated in a very small village where is not much to do than rest.
central position, night porter bit noisy
The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff spoke no English at all and were not very friendly. We did arrive very late however, so that probably didn't help!
Nice, clean room. Good beds. Wonderful landscape around the village. Breakfast not before 9 a. m. . Even when the stuff is running around at 8.30 a.m. and you are sitting in the restaurant they do not serve anything. WLAN did not work with my notebook. At night time a lot of noise from the street (cars, motorcycles, drunken people).
Quick over night stop for ongoing trip to the Pyrenees in relation to flight arrival at Girona. Difficult to find. Somewhat decadent.
No trouble in cancelling another two nights Nobody present in the reception in the morning, and the clerk did not inform us about the time for breakfast, so that we had to leave without eatiing.
Exquisite location. The staff was helpful, friendly and professional. The wifi worked very well in the room. The food was exceptional.
really nice rooms.
Not much to do in the hotel itself, only for sleeping. No parking facilities for a car.
Fantastic location; very friendly and helpful staff; excellent breakfast Room was very hot, and no fridge
The ambience and the location. There was no staff in attendance when we arrived at 4.00pm, eventually after checkin, about 30minutes later, there was again no staff around. This situation occured again on Sunday where we had to let ourselves inside. Consequently, we couldn't access the bar, make or recieve phone calls nor ask for ask for any assistance.
Lovely location in very attractive village of Santa Pau. Great views from garden. Handy for walking in La Garrontxa and also handy for our onward trip to Costa Brava.
The village where Cal Sestre is located is picturesque but a bit of a tourist village. Lots of good hiking trails. Way over priced for the value of the hotel. The breakfast was poor with little variety. Noisy- especially one maid which we could hear on the third floor. Decor average. Would not recommend. Would not stay again. The affiliated restaurant was likewise overpriced and one of the waiters was very rude.
The village itself is very calm and not much happens. However, it is a great place to use as a base to explore the major surrounding towns, in particular Ripoll, which is 10 mins by train from st. Quirze. Visit the famous ecclestiacal sites and have a fine lunch without having to use your car. The staff in the hotel are amazingly polite, friendly and helpful, smiley, (not falseley), and will offer to help in any way they can. Their English is great for non Spanish speaking English speakers. A culture shock for most people who use hotels regularly! For the price the food is excellent but dont expect gastronomique. Traditional, very well prepared and served which is what we wanted. Dont forget to try the ratafia bosch, a localally produced digestif which will remind you of cough medicines when you were a child!!! A great hotel in a great location overlooking the river. Ps. Saw, for my first time, a doting, resident Black Swan couple on the river daily.
Lovely rooms, air conditioning, powerful shower, clean, comfy bed Was told the nearest restaurant was 10km away but managed to find a bar within walking distance that did food. Breakfast was an hour late in starting and it was difficult to check out.
Very clean, and quiet room, well equiped and confortable Staff very kind also A good price for value hotel in a nice area May be the simply "continental" breakfast, but it can be improved by request don't hesitate
The exelent view Dinner was poor
Evening meal and breakfast both freshly prepared, tasty, copious and good. Maitre d' in the evening , Gerard, particularly helpful and friendly. translation from Catalan on the menu very welcome and efficiently done.
Nice hotel, very nice and clean rooms.
Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was excellent. Airconditioning was OK but took its time to make an impact.
Location and free on-site parking Evening meal facilities
Very friendly people
The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the room was comfortable and clean
