With a stay at Hotel Plaza Mayor in Tlalpujahua, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Sanctuary of Carmen and López Rayon Brothers Museum. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Pros: They offered me a nicer room upon arrival since it was available, very sweet and friendly. It is in the center of the town, but you can walk the entire town in ten minutes so location is not that important. Maybe okay for a night at most.
Cons: Old and musty smelling, bedding was too old, shabby satin poly, WiFi iffy.
Pros: location and view of church
Pros: great location, quiet and clean room.
Pros: Great location in the center of town. The room was comfortable with sizable beds and had a TV with old Mexican movies and a decent number of channels.
Cons: The bathroom had a really weird smell. We tried to have the fan going but it would not go away. The internet was also not great and only worked one day.
Pros: Perfect place to stay in Tlalpujahua! We loved the stylish decor in our room overlooking the picturesque plaza. There's a great little restaurant next door where we had delicious enchiladas. The bus station and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Carmel are a short walk away. Gloria was welcoming and friendly... We're looking forward to returning on our next trip!
Pros: Great location and kind staff.

Pros: Good location to the city and butterfly sanctuary . Lots of birds on the property in the hedge row. The staff were very friendly and tried to communicate with us even though we didn’t speak the same language. The restaurant was closed due to a party so we couldn’t have dinner. They brought us dinner to our room from the Buffett. Breakfast was amazing and huge! We appreciated it was included in the cost. Nice to have a thumb drive with movies too.
Cons: It got quiet cold in the room which was okay if you got in bed and snuggled. but it was too cold to just hang out in the room , would have been nice to have a space heater.
Pros: Quiet location. Nice staff. No how water or internet during our stay
Cons: Lack of hot water and no internet
Pros: The hosts are amazing: extremely nice, always willing to help, they will share their home with open hearts and invite you for diner and movie night! You’re little house to sleep is large and confortable. Location was perfect to go to the Sanctuary of Monarch Butterflies and to the towns around.
Pros: The hotel tenants are wonderful people. Like most Mexicans, but really even better than most. The bathroom was sparkling clean. The checking was done with a drink which was very pleasant. Diner and breakfast are really good. Although this hotel has a lot of failures, we felt very welcome and we have enjoyed our night-stay.
Cons: There are dogs barking all night and it's very noisy because of that. Not soundproof between the rooms and our neighbors starting watching the Simpsons at 7am. Also they snored and it felt like they were in our room. The room is really really cold. We put all the blankets on one bed but it was still cold. Although the room was very clean, it smelled of vomit and we had a hard time sleeping.
Pros: My review is not fully objective, as I was the only guest as it happened, which created somewhat different situation than typically in a hotel - your experience may vary. It is also worth noting that this hotel is more oriented towards groups and events and not booking.com guests. With that clarifications in mind, here is what I particularly liked: - the BEST Mexican breakfast I had on my 1month trip :) - fantastic, very welcoming hosts - big room - tranquil, quiet, rustic surroundings and (very) fresh mountain air
Cons: - nothing
Pros: The host family at the Inn were simply awesome. Haven't met such genuine and nice people in a while. The children of the household are a delight to hang out with too. The rooms are comfortable and the place very spacious to just be out and soak in some sun. The very tiny downside was that the Inn is about 6 kms from the town of Tlalpujahua, but the family was extremely kind in dropping and sometimes picking us from the places we wanted to go.
Cons: Nothing really.
Pros: The space and the facilities in general
Cons: There was just one waiter
Pros: Staff helpfull
Cons: Distance to other facilities

Pros: The pool is awesome.
Cons: We had to pay extra for breakfast, which I believe should be included in the price.
Pros: Beautiful surroundings, gardens extremely well kept!
Cons: Restaurant - french fries came out cold whenever we ordered. Breakfast buffet could have some more variety- a’la carte option is great though!
Pros: Everything is perfect, magic, comfortable, lovely views Extra comfy bed, upgrade to suite with jacuzzi, amazing rest/romance place If traveling with kids, there are tons of activities outdoor.
Cons: Food is questionable: small portions, super strict hours, not so tasty, extra expensive, few options. It changes the whole experience so you should try harder Invoice/bill process is a pain, takes a lot of calls, not able to do it in site There are no activities for couples like rides on carts to meet the property and surrounds, or guided historical tour. You should consider, we asked for a golf cart (paying the rental) and no one wanted to see if that could happen.
Pros: Extraordinary venue, very well and neatly taken of Hacienda, beautiful huge magueyes
Pros: Great Buffet! Great for families with babies / young children, but also great for couples. We loved it.
Cons: We had to pay for two horse ride tickets just because I rode with my 2-year old baby. Isn't it common sense? Other than that, a great experience.

Cons: I liked everything
Pros: The bed was comfortable. The room spacious. The TV was good. Lighting was good.
Cons: The room was not prepared. There was no hot water. The restaurant was poorly staffed.
Pros: Nice gArden
Cons: Terrible odors. Humidity in the rooms. Towels should be replaced years ago, ragged and filthy. If you are going to this town better stay in hacienda Cantalagua.
Pros: Staff is very friendly. Nice garden. Great location
Cons: A lot of stairs up from the parking area
Pros: Location of the hotel, and the beautiful views.
Cons: The water in the pool was cold for my baby.

Pros: Great place, very cheap, great deal, great patios, they helped book us a taxi to the butterflies, and generally was great! // Gran lugar, muy barato, mucho, grandes patios, nos ayudaron a reservar un taxi a las mariposas, y en general fue genial!
Pros: Very close to the main church and just a few blocks away from the main square. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant. It is an old house. Nothing fancy.
Pros: big clean room w/ warm blankets & comfortable beds.
Cons: black mold like substance on bathroom sink. not enough hangers or hooks to place your clothes.

Pros: The staff is incredible. AFAIK there is 24/7 front desk staff. The rooms are recently updated and modern-looking. The rooms are incredibly clean and the beds are comfortable. The hotel sits right on the main plaza in Atlacomulco Centro. If you get a room with a view of the plaza it is quite a show for people watching, especially on Sundays or holidays. I rate this hotel very highly. I have stayed at this hotel for about a month on different occasions and have never had a single issue.
Cons: OK, I don't really have any complaints because the stay was so pleasant. But, there are some things some people might expect. The in-room coffee is instant. This hotel used to be some kind of building, possibly colonial and it has a make-shift layout probably due to restrictions on construction. There is no restaurant but there are lots of restaurants near-by. There is no on-site parking, the parking seems to be some kind of shared lot across the street that is locked at night. Sometimes it is nearly full, but, hey, this is the center of downtown. The rooms are on the second and third floors but there is no elevator, if that should matter for you.
Pros: the black and white marble bathrooms were lovely but bring a bath mat (as in most Mexican bath)
Cons: the rooms varied in size from to small without desk or table to comfortable large. look for rooms with two beds no heat in rooms very difficult access for people with limited mobility which was not apparent in description. no restaurant just a small cozy communal dining room
Pros: Atlacomulco is my old stomping grounds and I'm familiar with the area. The hotel is located across from the main plaza and the catholic church, the best possible location in the city. Atlacomulco is very safe. I think that the hotel was an office building until fairly recently and is all refurbished and updated, attractive. Nearby laundry is only about 20 pesos per kilo of clothes, the cleaning lady ran that errand for me and I tipped her. In a lot of hotels laundry would have easily cost 10x.
Cons: This hotel has no lobby and no restaurant. But there are excellent options very close by. Also, because it is in the city center and this city pre-dates automobiles, parking is across the street in a cramped little enclosure. Had no problem though.
Pros: This is a boutique hotel in the heart of Atlacomulco right across from the main Catholic church and plaza. The location couldn't be better. The Plaza seems to always have people including families. The best part of this hotel is the staff. There is someone at the entrance who is very friendly and helpfull with whatever question you might have.
