Pros: It was a very pleasant stay. The swimming pool was nice and also the room we had (near the swimming pool) was cosy and clean. The man of the house was very friendly! We recommend this place if you want to stay in the Alentejo region!
Cons: The shower was a bit small but it didn’t border us!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a fabulous stay. The host Alberto was very welcoming and he made sure that we had the best room and we were very comfortable. He gave a tour of his beautiful guesthouse and helped us make an itinerary for our visit to the area. The rooms are very individually furnished with a selection of his fantastic art collection. Gloria, the cook made an incredible spread of local delicacies for breakfast including fresh fruits and juices, homemade jams, eggs and a selection of cheeses and more. We will certainly return when we are in the area again. Loved every bit of our stay in spite of the unusual cold weather. Thank you Alberto!!
Cons: Nothing at all!

Pros: The hosts Jos and Marianne were super friendly and made us welcome like we were staying in our home. Always giving us suggestions about places to have lunch/dinner which helped us a lot. 9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location and silence. Peaceful.
Cons: The road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a beautiful place to stay, the pool was the nicest we have experienced with a wonderful setting. Rooms were comfortable and cool with underfloor cooling and fans rather than air con (so quiet). The outdoor kitchen was really handy to prepare our own evening meals if we wanted and the breakfast was excellent. We didn't stay long enough to explore the area enough and would love to return again.
Cons: Very picky - but a coffee machine in the room (nespresso or similar) would make this place even better
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Thoughtful extras turned this accommodation into a highlight to the point where we changed from 2 to 4 nights: Detached “cabins” meant extra privacy, welcome bottle of wine (perfect for evening charcuterie style eats sitting on the porch listening to the birds and taking in the gorgeous view-sublime), robes, comfortable mattress topper, magnifying mirror, towels changed every couple days, outside kitchen, large multi-language library and finally the smell of homemade breads and cakes at breakfast. We generally have difficulty sleeping, yet found everything about this place contributed to restful nights. If you are there on a Saturday it’s worth going to the market in a nearby town to stock up on a range of local food-details from the hosts.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Terena is not an obvious spot to stay but we were very happy to have made the decision as it is a lovely small village and Casa de Terena is a great place to stay. It is an old house but everything was very comfortable. We had a very nice room with a view over the landscape and a very good spacious tasteful bathroom and very good shower. There was no airconditioning but a fan and the window provided good air flow. The beds were very comfortable. There was a living room where one could sit with a choice of drinks from a bar and you simply had to note down what you consumed. You could leave water and other things in the fridge in the kitchen and use the dining room table to eat your own food. The breakfast was excellent with lots of fresh bread, cheese, fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt, and nice biscuits. Alentino who looks after the house was very welcoming and friendly, told us about the house and very readily answered all our questions. The whole place was very clean and cosy and you could also imagine having a nice stay in winter there. It helps to have a car when you stay in Terena as in the newer part of the village at the bottom of the hill there is only one restaurant and one shop. You can walk to the nearby Santuário de Nossa Senhora da Boa Nova which is definitely worth a visit and there is a reservoir nearby where one can swim which we didn't do however. We went to Elvas and Monsaraz from Terena and it is not far to Evora and many other interesting places. We also did the Conquista de Terena walk through cork plantations which was very nice though we didn't manage to get to the reservoir which is part of the walk.
Cons: Perhaps not easy to get to by public transport. Best to ask the accommodation for advice.
10.0 Excellent

5.0 Okay
Cons: The rooms are on the first floor, quite high up. While we were there the front door got jammed. It took the local firebrigade and a couple of hours to break it down. In the meanwhile we were locked in upstairs because there is no emergency exit. Very unsafe.
9.5 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good location and value for the money
Cons: The reception area was less standard than the rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly, breakfast was excellent in value for money, room was spacious and clean. A traditional decoration on very friendly place to spend a night and visit the beautiful Vila of Alandroal and experience the excellent tastes of Alentejo cuisine.
Cons: Room had poor sound isolation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: excellent service at breakfast
Cons: the weather!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beds were comfortable and the staff provided a really traditional "Alentejo" experience. It really felt like we were being taken care of by our mother! :D Breakfast was also great with local and homemade products. Alandroal is a small village and so everything is within walking distance, which makes it easy to walk to the nearby restaurant or cafe.
Cons: The shower needs a bit maintenance. Also, it took a bit for check-in to happen, since no one was there, and the phone number was going to voicemail. It was cold and rainy outside and that was not awesome. Ultimately, everything worked out for the best and we really enjoyed our stay.
