The location was in the heart of Cortona. Clean, good sized and well appointed room. Small quaint establishment reasonably priced with the most helpful proprietor.I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.
Andrea was very helpful location in cortona was very convienent
very pretty original interiors, extremely nice staff, beautiful location
I liked everything. Perhaps breakfast in nearby shop needs little improvement.
The hotel is in the perfect place in Cortona. Andrea is a great host and the room was very clean and well decorated. We loved it. We could have used an extra blanket.
Very helpful staff who reserved at restaurants and taxis. Great location in heart of Cortona. Comfortable, clean room with modern conveniences. Rooms face the street so be ready for early morning hmmm of shops opening...
The room was excellent - very up to date facilities (bathroom, etc.) and right in the centre of town.
The staff was very nice, helpfull and comprehensive. Good location. The shower was broken so we did not have to pay for the room.
Andreas was very helpful and went above and beyond to accomodate us. The hotel is 20 yds off the Piazza Signorelli so very close. There is a parking area outside the wall on the same street, which made it easy-you can even drive in and drop off luggage then go back and park. The breakfast was at the piazza which is always fun for people watching! Beautiful, charming little town and great hotel
Absolutely fantastic big terrace overlooking a wide valley and you can also see as far as the lake. Gorgeous view!! Quite a nice breakfast. Bedrooms very basic, but fine. Had booked a double room for single occupancy but was given a triple (3 single beds), but they changed me to a double room with no problems when I asked. Would be a good place to stay if you were staying in Cortona for several days, and I think it would be quite good for families. Location is out of the main part of town, and the directions are very bad!! I had quite a bit of trouble finding the place. I was only staying one night, so it wasn't ideal to be quite far from the town centre. Got absolutely no information from the woman at reception about anything, just a room key, I had to prompt for everything. It's a big place, has a bit of an 'old hospital' feel to it and was quite eerie because it was pretty much empty (a Monday night in early May - understandable). Not a good option for solo travellers, but fine for couples/families I think.
Excellent services/very friendly staffs. Home-like environment. Beautiful scene in the villa of this hotel.
The location and garden surrounds made it a beautiful place to stay and relax and access nearby towns. In addition the friendliness and professionalism of the staff made it one of the best places we have ever stayed. there is nothing that we didn't like
Very good location, friendly helpful staff, very clean, good local food Hard bed, no bottled water, no wash cloth or kleenex. one chair, (desk) and a small couch for one. one mirror
Property and grounds were very nice. The staff was also excellent and courteous. Nothing
Grounds and Gardens and co operation of staff. Excellent location. No comfortable chair in room. Laundry facilities are a disgrace.
The grounds were gorgeous. The restaurant was wonderful. Our room was very dark. I had trouble putting on my makeup and doing my hair. Frustrating. Their is no mirror in the room. Speaking as women, it could have a mirror or vanity to get ready for the day/evening.
An outstanding property and great service in an absolutely beautiful part of Italy. Couldn't fault it!
We had a very wonderful experience while we stayed at Borgo Il Melone. The room and bath were clean and comfortable and very nicely furnished. The staff was very pleasant and very helpful to us and the breakfast presentation was nicely presented and delicious as well.
Staff / service
I enjoyed the country-like setting of this hotel, with its generous acreage and fruit trees. The room was large and clean, the staff very attentive and helpful, and we enjoyed the delicious continental breakfast, too. no
Il Falconiere is a beautiful setting with amazing accommodations, dining and service. They cater to their visitors.
The food was absolutely outstanding. The hotel also has a gorgeous indoor pool.
Good location. Some staff unhelpful. Room facilities in need of upgrade,eg,no fire alarm noted in room, no ventilation in bathroom, old worn cupboard.
The hotel is beautiful--the Turkish bath was a nice surprise and our room was very clean. The staff was super sweet and accomodating and the food was excellent (although you do pay well for it). It was pretty sad to see the falcon chained up near reception. I understand the idea of having him there to pay homage to the land's past, but it was a little heartbreaking to be checking out and see him try to fly but couldn't.
This is a delightful faclity and the staff absoutely wonderful. The breakfasts are fabulous with all fresh breads and fruits and meats on a beatiful patio. NA
I liked the uniqueness of the hotel, the quiet and relaxed atmosphere, the beautiful location.
Excellent stay. Very good breakfast under the shade of the Tuscan pines. Clean and cozy historical room. Very big swimming-pool, with an amzing view of Cortona.
The external view and the garden. Rooms, sevices (internet, TV, no dining beside breakfast,
really friendly staff, a room with real character and a tasty breakfast. Excellent! The wi-fi signal wouldn't reach our 2nd floor room, and strangely had no upload for some reason.
very charming hotel and staff, great location but hard to find hard to find
location, helpfulness of staff, facilities
beautiful surroundings, very peaceful.Helpful and friendly staff Room furnishings and particularly bathroom very disappointing Room was almost gloomy
Beautiful location. Very freindly & helpful staff
The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the hotel itself is very quiet and pleasant looking. They could provide more and better quality food at breakfast (although the cheese was excellent)
clealiness and attitude airconditioning
Friendly staff, great value.
Friendly staff. Close to station (although not in a straight line as indicated!) The single room had a massive double bed! Nice terrace on roof with good views. No fridge in room, despite being on the list of amenities.
The staff was very friendly and hotel was in a good location. Would stay there, again.
convenient and clean hotel and courteous staff
Very clean. Helpful staff. The only comfort problem was that it was very noising during siesta (it was 40 centigrade so I really wanted to be inside). There isn't much they can do about the traffic outside, but there was a lot of noise inside, loud TVs, people yelling etc.
Ishmael was at the desk waiting for us and assisted us in every way. He was polite and informative in every way. We were very appreciative of his advise as to where to park, eat and sites to see. The hotel was not fancy but was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Everything was fine.
Owner was very helpful
Proximity to town center
Everything isspecial. The staff , they are perfect. They make you feel at home.
Location and the ambience. Contrary to some previous comments this hotel has rooms with a nice view which some economy rooms may not have. You get what pay for. The hotel staff was very courteous and went out of their way to correct a small glitch during my stay. Excellent restaurant nearby. None
The location ,right where everything cortona has to offer you is at the door steps of the hotel ,plus the hotel was easy to find by car!!!!! The hotel was alot of fun to walk thru ,like a small castle with small passage ways to find your room, just like the town of cotona it self.very modern/spa like bathrooms.the breaksfast had the best variety out of 12 hotels that I tour italy.i wish I planed longer here then siena.the hotel and town is on our list of best trips and one that we come back to..thanks for thegreat memories......
EXCELLENT in every way
It was a nice setting. No shower in room only a shower hose.
the location, comfort and beauty
Very pleasant staff, excellent location near the city center in Cortona
Location, hotel staff, room
The hotel is beautiful! It has the same feel as the old town it resides in. The location could not be better, on a lovely old small street just of the main piazza. The staff is very attending and helpful. They also swiftly took care of the parking of the car. Choose this hotel.
The hotel staff was very friendly. Our room was very large and comfortable for only 2 people. We loved the view of Cortona in the distance. The grounds were not as groomed as we had expected but possibly it was due to the fact that it was still early in the spring.
The hotel located in very quite place near by Cortona. The swimming pool was nicely positioned where you can enjoy the view of Toscana and relax. The location of the hotel was very difficult to find. Our navigation system did not help us to find the hotel and led us to different location, also the place was relatively close.
no internet!!! unpolitly stuff (women) when we check out on 16th of Aug,uncomfortable dresser.
Nice place and kind staff More cakes at breakfast
This place is fantastic. The buildings and grounds are wonderful, the views are perfect, the staff are friendly and helpful. The only thing that could have been improved was the have the abilty to get a cup of coffee during the day. We were in a room which had a minibar so we were ok for cold drinks but some of the great coffee they served for breakfast would have been good later on during the day.
Staff were very helpful. Beautiful location.
This has to be the most beautiful place to stay in the area, as the setting amongst olive orchards , grape vines and fruit trees is amazing with views across the Tuscan landscape , the distant bells from churches on the hillside. There is not enough space here to describe how perfect the hotel and staff are. Bellissimo. Nothing
Close to Cortona without the hassle of parking or lugging your bags up steep streets. Staff were excellent particularly Laura Nothing comes to mind
the location-the swimming pool- the room was too humid, no value for money!
The room was fantastic, beautiful, comfortable, and clean. Silvia and Laura were precious, wonderful hostesses, excellent travel guides, with great personalities. We did not stay long enough.
The room was gorgeous, and the views were spectacular. I would recommend this room! The location within Cortona was perfect, and everything is within walking distance. My wife and I had a tremendous time!!!
convienient for cortona town
The location was good, the bathroom was spacious and the presence of a washing machine was a plus. The apartment was dark. The first apartment we saw lacked adequate lighting, had little ventilation and smelled musty. The second apartment we were shown was better, though smaller. We were told there might be a cleaning charge but were not told the amount until checkout, and it seemed excessive (52 euros for two apartments for three days). I did not feel the hotel website accurately described the apartments (example: the "private garden" advertised was actually a courtyard shared by four units). I would recommend this apartment only if descriptive materials were more accurate/complete.
Everything! The 'Dream' apartment on the first floor is both stylish and comfortable, and there was a very warm welcome. The view is gorgeous. Also walkable to all facilities in Cortona. We liked everything.
This was a great little appartamenti in a fabulous location. We had to pay cash because their credit card machine was broken.
The apartment offered wonderful views over the Tuscan valley below the hilltop town of Cortona. The set up was nice and the apartment had lots of space including 2 bedrooms, a living room, a small kitchen. The apartment had a kitchen and washing machine which was a big plus. The owner lives in the building and was very helpful when we asked for assistance. This apartment had no internet capabilities. We had to find internet cafes in town to have internet access...hours were irregular. The other amenities that we wished the apartment had were a TV with English channels or a DVD player. We would also have liked a microwave in the kitchen.
The ability to cook. Had to pay for air conditioning if you wanted it and the washing machine would not spin the washing.
I loved throwing open the shutters to see the sunshine and the fog over the valley below.
absolutely a gem...we actually wept when we saw the view from the Dream apartment...convenient, charming, spacious. having to leave
The location and view were amazing! The apartment was located on the perimeter of the town wall so there was a vast view of the Tuscan landscape below. It was within walking distance to everything in town and it was nice to walk uphill on the way there, but downhill on the way home. Our apartment didn't have a balcony, but it faced the street so we could pull up our chairs to the open windows and enjoy the view over a glass of wine in the evening or a croissant and coffee in the morning. It was great having laundry facilities and cooking facilities in the apartment. It was well equipped with dishes and appliances. Our apartment was quite cluttered with ornaments and knick-knack tables - reminded me of my Grandma's place. There needs to be less knick-knacks and more clean surfaces on which to put one's belongings. The bed, bedroom and bathroom were quite small and cramped - the bed was not quite big enough for two people. The apartment was very dark and musty smelling, but those two problems could be eliminated when we opened the windows. I was surprised there was a cleaning fee at the end of our stay.
Wonderful people, very tasty food and calm location in the countryside room rates ridiculously high for the services provided
We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff, particullary the owners, made us feel like part of their family. The setting is very calming, very restful. Unfortunately, it rained alot, so we could not really enjoy the entire grounds. We would definitely return!
It was worth searching this hotel, because it is one of the most excellent hotels, in which we were during the last 25 years. The owner- patron David Papi makes a 7-stars feeling in the old villa, the kitchen is on the top.
we found the hotel, the staff and particularly, david, the owner excellent.all concerned did everything possible to make our stay as perfect as they could. The setting the facilities, the cleanliness and the food were first class. we would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone, we intend to go back later in the year with some friends. Direction could do with being a bit more exact. the hotel is in the village of Pergo.
everything, and very friendly no problem for late arrival. good italien food
Very nice accomodations. Semi minimalist but it was very adequate. Staff was very friendly and helpful and grounds were great. Very roomy apartment like room,
very poor breakfast choise
The location in beautiful and it is only 4 km from Cortona . The staff is very friendly. Dinner is bad, lousy cooking and very expensive (30euro voor evening dinner without drinks and very poorly quality of the food) Afther 3 evening meals I always had dinner in town. See above about dinnner and it was also very difficult to have a drink or a snack during the day. There is no place to sit when weather is bad, unless in your room.
The distance to the city of Cortona make it necessary to travel by car.
Room was quite big, very clean and comfortable. The staff is great! The place is very nice and relaxing!
Very relaxing atmosphere - peaceful and a sense of being "away from it all" . Very convenient to centre of Cortona which was the purpose of the trip. Probably the lack of a lively bar and area to have a drink outside of one's room
Hotel is during the night very difficult to find. Once on the correct road there is no clear entrance of the Hotel to be seen
peaceful and great staff
clean swimming pool name of the hotel at booking com "Antico Casale Centro Benessere" and signage at the property " Antico Casale di Monte Gualandro" (from only one direction) is different, adress Via Montecchio is obviously fictitious and unknown: it took one hour and 7 asked residents to find the location; no air conditioning is very poor for a 4-star-hotel; breakfast was also very poor
Its location, history and facilities. The inter-connecting rooms, ideal for families, had doors in the bedroom. Children were placed in the adjoining room, which proved disturbing on occasions. 2. Bathroom gels inadequate. 3. Food over priced.
The owner was charming and the location was excellent. Other than that I cannot find anything positive to say The hotel was in its last few days before closing down. The room was cold. The dining room menu was limited but the food was okay and it was expensive - no thought to out of season prices.
The friendliness of the staff, the lovely dinner, the mountain position while still being within easy reach of Cortona.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was parking available for our rent car and Franco was more than happy to fix the tyre of one of the bicycles so that we could go for a ride. Wonderful place to stay and great value for money.
The staff were very helpful, nothing was to much trouble. There was a problem with my hire car, the proprietor was so helpful, he arranged for me to change the car. The food was very good and enjoyable. The restaurant is very popular with local families during the evening. The atmosphere is frendly and calm. If you want to travel further a field car is essential, the hotel has plenty of parking space in its own grounds. The views from the hotel are perfect, its a photographers paradise. There is wild life to see, I came across wild boar and deer quite by chance. Cortona / Camacia is the local railway station. Train tickets and time tables are obtained from tourist information in Cortona.
There is a lovely hike up the hill behind the Albergo from which the view is fantastic. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful and helped us make an international phone call. The supper--the local delicacy, wild boar--was tasty and the breakfast included in the rate was good
The pleasant staff. The incrediable view
It was the worst hotel I have stayed in for many years. It had no airconditioning. The shower was almost non existant. it was very basic and isolated from any amenity. The breakfast was very poor and badly presented. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I liked nothing about this hotel. See above for the negative points
The owners attentiveness, helpfulness and friendliness was exceptional. Food in their restaurant was excellent and authentic. I wish I had spent more days there.
The location was a few miles out of Cortona, very quiet and peaceful (a . The views from the hotel are wonderful since it's located higher in the mountains above the city. The food in their restaurant was also very good. Franco, the owner, was very personable and helped us plan a day trip through the Tuscany valley and wine country. I'd highly recommend a stay here. There was nothing about this hotel I did not like.
Hospitality of the staff and the overall quality of the service. The aproach is a litlle complicate.
Exceeded expectations with regards to friendliness of staff & serenity of atmosphere. Treated like one of the family. Location turned out to be more appealing than anticipated, given that it is some kilometers from Cortona, but this helped in making it easier to get to a number of other locations that we were able to explore. Not a practicable option without car transport though. Best of 11 different accommodations booked for our holiday on almost every criteria. Without a map and detailed directions, finding the place is not easy if you are not familiar with Italian naming conventions. There are 3 Montecchio's in Tuscany alone.
Staff were very friendly. The apartment (bigger than we've booked) was in excelent order - clean and very functional, old style house. Nothing at all.
The friendly owner and her family. The setting was also beautiful. The only problem was the tv did not have multi languages (English), also we would have appreciated a few more cleaning utensils, E.g dish cloth, tea towel, washing up liquid.
This is the best hotel i have ever stayed in italy. Staff nice and willing to help; rooms clean, very nice and comfortable. i definitely recommend it to everyone
A good location, once I was able to locate the hotel. Location was very poorly signed and the road was not in my gps. The hotel had very few guests (this time of year) and I felt it was a very desolate location. No around the clock staff.
The hotel was great! Good private parking; cozy apartment with nice kitchen, bathroom and balcony.
wonderful experience, inexpensive, perfect
Excellent staff---very friendly and courteous, and went above and beyond the call of duty for us. Unfortunately, we did not greatly enjoy our stay at Seven. This is due mainly to the fact that the hotel is not in Cortona per se. I can't believe no one mentions this in their reviews. To go anywhere, you have to take a cab to and from the hotel, which is going to cost at least 10 euros everytime. Gets pretty expensive. We found this very frustrating. Also, there are only 4 cabs in the entire town. Also, everything within the "resort" is closed, including the restaurant. I understand it's the slow season, but they could and should mention this on their web site so you know. We just felt very isolated with nothing to do. Also, we gave a poor cleanliness score because there were huge spiders and bugs in our room, which was disturbing.
The location and cost / benefit are excellent for those who are traveling by car.
Very charming hotel. Actually, I stayed another B&B that the same family managed ' Dolce Maria'. The builiding was very old, but they maintained very well. The minimum furnished, but there was no problem for me. Shower room was a little narrow, but well renovated. They prepared some kinds of bread for breakfast ( might be homemade ).They manage very nice restaurant as well, I had dinner every night there. Thanks them for supporting my stay in Cortona ! ! Especially, Mrs. Paola, see you next year ! Transportation from Camucia railway station is NOT convenient.
The hotel was in a good location , very clean , and beautifully furnished , the breakfast was just about adequate , and the staff , all family , were friendly and helpful.Overall , I enjoyed my stay there.
Close to parking. The staff did not appear to enjoy their jobs and we felt like we were stopping them from doing other things. Our room was extremely noisy and the shower water prssure was unacceptable.
Convenient location and friendly staff
Wonderful setting with amazing grounds. People are very friendly and helpful.
Nothing extraordinary, but perfectly comfortable! They let us check in early, which was a real help.
we loved the warmness of the owner. She was very helpful, telling us about a wonderful place to dinner (dulce maria, do not miss it), how to park and where and how to get around. Maybe he room we stayed needs to be redecorated (it was a bit old) and the bathroom needs a remodelation as well, but none of this made we dislike the place. We really enjoyed our stay there.
Centraly located in Cortona, very nice, clean hotel. We had 2 bedroom family room on the last floor, the rooms were very big. The breakfast menu is very limited and only to sweet things, which we are not used to. But this is Italian style. Coffee was great though.
Between good and excellent
The friendlyness of the lady at reception The view fron our room
friendy staff, beautiful building parking availability seemed a little hit and miss for such a large hotel
I found the staff very helpfull, the building interesting, comfortable and quiet. The food was excellent. The restaraunt cannot cope with a full hotel.
Beautiful grounds and setting. Old monastery. Lovely. They forgot to put sheets on one bed. Otherwise, it was find.
The room was large and comfortable. The building is an old mill and quite charming. The restaurant is gourmet and very attractive. It is out in the country but only about 10 min drive from Cortona. When we went in late October the room got quite cold during the night and the control didn't seem to be working, but we were only staying one night so just piled on the comforter.
