Pros: We only had a stopover for one night but the host was really welcoming! He advised us to go to a bar which was close by and very nice to have some beers I had a private room at a cheap price so quality/price is just the best i had so far Located at the end of a small alley Litchis and water for free Mosquito net, Ac and fan in the room No noise at night
Cons: Maybe the breakfast was not so good but you can’t have everything (Bahn me and coffee)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nam was such a nice and helpful guy with excellent English skills! We were sad we only stayed one night.. he gave us lots of tips for our trip and even tightened my motorbike break when he realised it was loose!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a lovely experience staying with Nam and his beautiful family. We were made to feel so welcome and at home as soon as we arrived. We spent the evening helping to cook traditional floating cakes (banh troi) and tried some home made wine, if your looking for an authentic experience at incredible value for money this is definitely the place for you :)
7.0 Good
Pros: Nam, the owner is a fantastic man! So helpful, thoughtful and kind. We could even do the laundry for free! Rented his motorbike for a few days for a very reasonable price. Family dinner was nice. Also his two kids are lovely. Nice place to meet other travellers. Nice simple breakfast.
Cons: The dog smell and hairs, since many dogs stay in front of the room. The bathroom outside was not very clean and many mosquitos. The bathroom inside the main house is better. Can get quit loud in the room from the noise outside. The windows look out in the main area where the people sit. But, the price for the rooms is fair!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: High recommendation for this cosy house!!! The owner is kind and friendly. If I go back to Thai Nguyen, I must go back to this house.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nam is a perfect host, he made my stay unforgetable. He showed me the city and took me and other guests to a vegan restaurant. He knows a lot about the surroundings and speaks english very well!
Cons: For that price you will get a lot.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome, comfortable rooms (heater + aircon), quiet street. Nam is very friendly and talkative. He shows attention and care to his guests. He speaks English. Breakfast is included and good (banh my + coffee) and there are restaurants around, walking distance. Possible to share meals with the family, very friendly and generous. This is experiencing Vietnam as an insider.
Cons: Small table with a few chairs to chill and many motorcycles right in front of the bedroom door. A bit dark when raining or cloudy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner
Cons: The bathroom?

6.8 Good
Pros: Good location when you just use the hotel as a stop during longer trip. Close to bars and restaurants where you can have dinner. There are also a lot of shops. Room was clean. Good, hot shower.
Cons: AC didn’t work, beds were very hard. It’s written that you can eat breakfast in the hotel, but there is no breakfast in fact. The staff don’t speak any english and they don’t even try to use Translator.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Parking was secure/free.
Cons: No one at the initial desk on ground floor. Guessed it was on 5th floor after seeing every floor on the way up. Bathroom was dirty. One towel looked as if it had been used for 10 years +. Bed was not made, uncomfortable pillows. TV has two remotes that work simultaneously - confused. Overall not worth the money I paid. I’ve paid less for much better elsewhere. Was considering staying another night before I saw/experienced the room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Air conditioner
Cons: Laundry costs money but they didn notice
Hoang Yen Hotel - Thái Nguyên - Building
4
7.8 Good (25 reviews)

5.5 Okay
Pros: Good price. Clean room.
Cons: The AC was automatically turned off after 20’. Low electricity, black out sometimes. The price was quite cheap so do not expect too much of hotel service.
7.0 Good
Pros: The shower water was hot and the price was cheap during the Tet holiday. Although most of the staff did not speak English, there was a man who we could call and spoke good english so he translated to help us communicate. We had to change our checkout day to make it earlier because of a personal plan. The staff were flexible and only charged us for the days we stayed there. We were on a quiet street so I could sleep well.
Cons: The hotel was locked when we arrived and there were no staff. Luckily we had a friend with us who had a phone and we called the number and they sent someone to open the hotel. I think we would have had serious trouble if we didn't have a phone to call. The first room they put me in was dark and moldy. The wall behind the bed was covered in mold and it smelled bad. However, I asked to have my room changed. The new room had sunlight and was cleaner so it depends on what room you get. The bed mattresses were a bit hard and seemed to still have plastic on them so they felt weird. The rooms were not cleaned every day. (It was during Tet holiday so they may have been understaffed.)
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing to like at all. I am beginning to think there is absolutely no value for rating anything on booking.com. The ratings are completely inaccurate - particularly in less well-traveled areas. There should be an overarching rater profile that takes into account the accuracy of a raters ratings. I am being constantly duped by visitors who seem to have never traveled anywhere.
Cons: Completely filthy. No ability at all to help me rent a motorbike (every other place in Vietnam always helps me). Nearly rock hard bed. Disgusting. I am single traveler that is really reaching out to experience Vietnam. This is one place that no one ever needs to visit. They should give up on being a hotel. Completely filthy. Open electrical receptacles. Lacked security. Forget it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean room, good view, you can hear the sound of the river day and night.
Cons: Tv is uselessly
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good service. Nothing to complain about.
Cons: Nothing.

5.0 Okay
Pros: This is a very new hotel open 3 months or so - lovely outside and rooms new. They are still learning how to run it effectively - breakfasts very limited. Few staff could speak any English. We filled the hotel with wedding guests.
Cons: Some rooms smelt as there was a sewage problem that they were sorting outside the property
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is amazing! Great pool, great service!
Cons: Nothing at all!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. Located in a hidden oasis close to the city and its many restaurants. Swimming pool was clean and the ambiance was peaceful. I often frequent this resort for the pool and peaceful energy. Lots of butterflies, cute frogs and nature around.
6.5 Good
Pros: The location was average , but the property itself was OK
Cons: Staff were not really interested in helping . Everything seemed too much bother . Breakfast was rushed and despite explaining what an omelette was , we received broken fried eggs both times !!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super nice place to go on a relaxing trip. The facilities are really new and beautiful. Staff is very friendly and can speak English perfectly. Very quiet place in a secluded area, far from traffic and pollution.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: We arrived last week Sunday afternoon for a few day retreat in the province of Thai Nguyen. We chose Sunny because it looked green, everything looked new, and the pool looked nice. Upon arrival the guards seemed extremely excited and happily loud. We checked in and got a nice room on the second floor. The bathroom drains however started smelling as soon as we used the sink. On our 2nd day we asked to change rooms, and we were put in the room next door which didn't have a disfunctional tap. The smell from the drains was better, but later that evening it was back. We took a look at the pool and thought it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Ofcourse at this time of year it had been raining lots, but it was green with an obvious layer of grime on the pool floor. I spoke to the receptionist about cleaning the pool and he said we clean it every morning. I decided to attempt to scrub the pool floors and remove the top layer of dirt. An hour later it looked as though nothing had changed. I asked why the filters were off, and he said he'd turn them on. He didn't turn them on until a few hours later. It seemed like the pool filter was broken. We spoke to the chef who told us what was available that evening, and received a custom vegetarian menu. We went out to explore a few hours. When we came back we went over to the cafe (a spoken word menu) for a drink but left quickly as the employees were rowdy, face timing on public, and shouting through their phones while online gaming. We spent most of our day times outside the hotel because we couldn't bear the noise, and being stuck in a hotel room. Coffee Tac is a wonderful cafe with two hanging seats that became our best friends. The province is beautiful, with necessity day excursions to a cave and waterfall, or to the lake nearby. We recommend having a motorbike to explore.
Cons: After 4 nights there, we had the following notes to make: This is the nicest hotel in the city Thai Nguyen and one of the only 3 with a swimming pool Hotel is equipped with lots of good quality furniture. Good internet connection. Employees have little to no training. Customer service is accommodating, but very low quality. They were never apologetic for our complaints. Pool filters are broken, and yet they pour a bucket of chemicals in at 11pm every day. Cleaning service was less than average, with hairs left, toilet uncleaned, and trash left on the balcony for long periods of time. Noise levels were far above relaxing levels. Employee gossip and negative drama affected us every day Warm beer at the bar Guard told us to be home early because he was too tired to stay awake. Pillows were very thick and uncomfortable. When asking for a different pillow (or an extra small pillow (without case) of which we had 1 on our double bed)... I was told it was impossible. Overall a good place to stay if working or needing to be in Thai Nguyen. If looking for a peaceful holiday retreat out of Hanoi, this is not the place to go. We've had far better customer service and amenities for the same price in other places in Vietnam. PS. If you are the owner or manager of Sunny, and would like to improve the customer experiences at your hotel, get in touch with me via email to organize a training course for your staff: mjsc13@gmail.com
7.0 Good
Pros: Room was reasonably clean.
Cons: Breakfast was meh. Poor selection and average quality. Location while being in the quiet part of town, is far away from the center. Expect to call your taxi ahead of time. Pool was unusable.
