Proximity to motorway
convenient just off motorway basic
Clean and cheap for a single traveller. Very convenient location at the intersection of the A13 and A28. Ideal stop-over when travelling from the Channel Tunnel to the South-West of France. Nothing
Friendly helpful and cheerful staff. Free WiFi Hotel corridor doors were very noisy and needed oiling.
Easy of finding, excellent and helpful staff, good place to stop on a long journey when travelling further, restaurant was reasonable/good, all parts of the hotel were spotlessly clean, there is a large car park at the hotel, a local town is 5-10 minutes walk away where there are some good bars and restaurants if you want to use/visit them
Easy to find, good buffet supper and breakfast Nothing
It was away from traffic sounds, very comfortable, and the restaurant had a wonderful buffet after a long day of sight seeing We would have enjoyed having a room with 2 double beds as we were traveling as a family
Meals were very good Nothing
Very close to motorway and yet quiet. The heating had not been switched on in the room so it was cold when I arrived and took a while to get warmer.
Restaurant and value for money
the staff was very helpful. We arrived at 10PM and could still have something to eat. Very nice! -
Excellent welcome & services ! Excellent deal ... ! Brand new accomodation ... lovely breakfast & car parking lot ... Au revoir et à bientôt ! Merci bien ...
Excellent room size and very clean if a little minimalist in facilities. Because of the weather we could not walk to a restaurant in town so opted for the TV meal which was good value at 13 euros including wine. It was a bit further from the town centre than I expected but just about walkable. A few facilities in the room eg coffee maker would help.
Manager and facilities were excellent. Quiet. Ease of visit to town centre and shopping.Breakfast offered lots of choice and was excellent quality. Nothing to dislike.Maybe in future building at rear may raise cause for concern.
Frienliness of the staff and the cleanliness Nothing
Cleanliness, quiet excellent breakfast large bed Not a complaint but an evening meal at the hotel aftre travelling would have been good
The tranquility, the swimming pool, There was a dog in the neighbouring garden which barked all afternoon when we first arrived. The breakfast was rather expensive
Peaceful and in the real french countryside.
It was the best and available hotel Car parking is not convenient, maintenance glitches in the room, light bulb, bath tub not emptying, shower hanging loose, can't fix its position. At time of making reservation it is not clear that the rooms are in various houses on the premises. No restaurant.
Extreme courtesy of all the staff. Willingness of staff to accommodate changes to arrangements. Location in very pleasant countryside.
luxurious room and nice surroundings
The setting is tranquil and the village is very picturesque. The hotel is rather expensive: it has no restaurant, a very limited bar facility, no safe parking. The room we were shown into on arrival had not been serviced. The young assistant was confused. We were upgraded. I am not sure how easily the situation would have been resolved had I not been fluent in french.
The ambience was peaceful, rural, luxurious. We were to have stayed in the room called "Paris" but the aircon did not work, so we were upgraded to "New York." We did not ask for this, the concierge insisted. Both rooms were lovely, "New York" was especially luxurious. We enjoyed the terrace with its loungers and the jacuzzi and the decor. Although evening meal was not on offer, it was only a short and pleasant walk to a good restaurant, booked for us by the hotel. When paying the bill, we realised that it was a good idea to take a print-out of one's booking. We had a bargain! I was unjustifiably concerned that as the car park was not visible from the hotel, it was vulnerable. But the village of Jumieges is not like that, I am sure!
The overall experience is outstanding
I loved the room they all have a theme. The hotel is very pretty. Staff is friendly. Pity there is now restaurant. The breakfast is ok but expensive. If you ad the breakfast for two people and the room price it is a little over the top.
Friendly staff, lovely village, fantastic restaurant only 200 meters away. Quiet place for a getaway. brand new furnishing.
Though it is a lovely hotel and the staff were very helpful, our stay was spoilt by the fact that a film shoot that was being done there had overrun. This meant we could not check in on time and parking was very awkward. The clean up from the shoot was still underway when we had breakfast the next morning and then left.We had not received any notice of this situation. However we were given an upgrade and a very modest price reduction for the inconvenience.
The care and attention given by all the staff was exceptionally good. We were supposed to be staying in an attic room but as soon as we walked in ,Madame noticed that my husband is tall so she upgraded us. We stayed for 4 nights and slept in 3 different rooms and the staff moved all our belongings and clothes for us, so it was no trouble to us. All rooms lovely. The food was also really good
We thought the meals were excellent. The Hotel had an indoor and outside pool which was nice for our children.
The hotel, room and food were fabulous and sited well for the surrounding area. Although we considered we had excellent value for money it seemed that our 'package price' for half board (3 nights), through booking.com, was actually the room only price, the hotel did however honour our package price. The hotel would have been very expensive if a package price had not been available.
perfect ambiance, perfect service and perfect food
Excellent service when we had a difficult booking experience. Friendly and attentive staff The hotel is a little tired and could do with some painting and updating in the social areas.
Astonishing old manor house in a beautiful garden. Charming room, comfortable bed, absolutely silent - we really slept well here. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little bit too expensive as there was nothing special about it.
Good sized room. The restaurant was too expensive and the food somewhat pretentious. 35 euros was more than we would wish to pay for a main course. 95 euros for three courses is too much. The 29 euro menu was better value but here could have been more choice.Position of the hotel is not very appealing and the parking facilities limited.
The location just off the Toll Road was good ,the Town quiet, parking provided and the food and service excellent.
Welcoming staff; pleasant surroundings; delightful dining room Although food delicious perhaps rather overpriced
Friendly staff and happy to arrange a travel cot for the bedroom No air-con which makes the rooms very hot in summer months. Bathroom very dated.
Location, Hospitality of owners and quality of food Dated bedroom decor and inadequate shower in the bathroom
Food not very good. Quite expensive @ £90
Clean, quiet room. Very pleasant staff. The food was good but the menu was somewhat restricted and fairly expensive. Least expensive menu was 55euros which did not compare favourably with prices we had been paying elsewhere during our month's sojourn.
Of course it isn't a luxury hotel, but it's more than enough: free wifi access, free parking, air conditionned, clean rooms and nice staff. Rooms are too small for a four-member family. Fortunately, we got a new room for our children.
The Restaurant The location, even the TOM TOM could not find it
Sraff politeness General aspect of the room.
The food was very good The hotel was surrounded in wire fencing with gates locked at night - a bit intimidating
Great air conditioning Limited choice half menu not available
good rapport qualite / prix the receptionist challenged me about my booking and advised I had booked a room for 2 nights instead of one when I had made my 4 bookings at the same time and for the same period of one night?!
Good value for money. No family rooms that I was aware of.
Wonderful comfortable beds. Friendly welcome.
Noisy exhaust fan in bathroom.
Easy to find. Clean. Pleasant staff. Very uncomfortable beds. Didn't seem to be much for breakfast - there were 5 of us and we paid 40 euros for a roll and drink each.
The pleasant welcome we received from your staff. The room smelt of smoke when we arrived. I realise this is as much a problem of your other guests.
clean, quiet and polite friendly staff. The restaurant is closed during August to "solo" visitors as the hotel and facilities are taken over by coaches and tourist groups. The web site should have known this.Price was a little high without B/fst.
Given we were only staying one night, the helpful and pleasant attitude of the staff and the excellent self-service breakfast
We messed up our booking and the staff were very accomodating Not very comfortable
Good reception service Restaurants and Bars Breakfast is served from 07:00 until 10:00. Dinner is served from 19:30 until 21:00. is the description included on the web site. This is not the case and we booked specifically to avail ourselves of this facility.
Easy to find, convenient stopover. Comfy, clean, just what we wanted.
Comfortable, friendly, excellent breakfast. Restaurant closed on a Weds and long drive to nearest one. No tea/coffee in room
Happily accomodated our late arrival and dinner at 21:00. Peaceful location in a picturesque village. Room 110 in the attric had a bath / shower fitted under a sloping roof that was uncomfortable to use; more elderly people would have had great diffuculty in using it.
the most beautiful location and reasonably close to Calais to represent a suitable alternative for a stop over prior to sailing. Good food and friendly staff mean that the stay was very enjoyable Beware the prices of drinks - we paid 24 euro for two kir royal and 5 euro for a bottle of water!
Situation of the Auberge was excellent, Overpriced for the service. Food was even more overpriced, I do not mind paying for good food, but this was not very good at all. Also charged 12 euros for a jack russel to stay in the room !
Excellent visit, comfortable and quiet with excellent attention to detail .Access to some rooms would be a problem for anyone woith a walking disability.Food excellent but breakfast overpriced and not integral in the price
the steak was impossibly tough and no compensation or regret was offered
Location at covenient distance from channel ports and ideal stop off in interesting village Hotel staff friendliness disappointing. Restaurant very disappointing and not good value.
Three adults travelling together- booked 2 twins and were given adjoining rooms in a "family" set up which meant that we shared toilet facilities that were cramped and not at all private. One of the twins had no curtains, therefore no privacy. Too hot- no air con/fan. We complained and received a 35 euro refund. Restaurant meal: wine list did not contain a price for bottles. The two that we ordered were both over 35 euros- incredibly expensive.
Very pleasant, good breakfast, beautifull surroundings,
Very friendy and welcoming, good normandie food.
Totally rip-off from the restaurant to the rooms. Don't stay here! Everything.
Family friendly hotel personally run by owners. Particularly suitable for families as rooms are detached from main building and families can sit outside their rooms whilst children can paly on the grassed area in front of the rooms, Peaceful with good views.
The owner was really friendly and his hospitality was excellent. Fresh croissants for breakfast and plenty of bread etc. Lovely setting and well signposted. Good sized room for a family. Good location for a stop over on way to ferry port. The room could have been cleaner, bathroom was clean but round the edges of the carpet could have been cleaner and although no smoking the room smelt of cigarettes and there were cigarette burns on bedding and carpets.
Great owner - a real character and very helpful. The hotel is very unusual consisting of several small chalets well out of town on the top of a hill with good views. Lots of donkeys and horses nearby. Very basic and simple but clean and fine for an overnight stop on the way to the ferries. Several restaurants in the local shopping mall nearby which were fine (c2 miles away). Very good rates. The code to get in was wrong and could not get hold of anyone to get in for 30 mins - had to climb over gate in end.
setting very friendly staff
Nice situation in lovely countryside with fantastic views. Fairly basic room but ideal for short stay, we had a fridge in the room which was very welcome. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful.
The peace and quiet and the views.
Spacious rooms, pleasant setting, reasonable value for money
quiet location, friendly manager, shops and restaurants near by. no food or drink available at the hotel
Easy to locate from motorway on route to south. Good family room, quiet location, good shower. Owner has two large dogs which although obedient do range around the grounds. Nearest resturant 5 mins drive away.
Good value. Spacious room, morelike small apartment with TV and fridge. Stairs ok for our under age 10 kids. Well signposted from road.Good apartment for looking around Rouen. Would use again. Quite difficult to find the area of Rouen it was in. We needed a code to get in the grounds and we could only get throught the gate initially by waiting for another car to come out!
I liked the safe parking for my vehicle, and the entire hotel was receiving an upgrade when I was there. The staff was most kind and helpful in the short dealings I had with them The street it was on was very noisy, and no insulation between rooms made for noise as well. The safety chain was missing on my door, and the light switch in the hall was not easy to find
Room was ready on time and on arrival. Clean and tidy, staff ( one person ) was helpful. my party occupied x 3 Triple rooms. No tea/coffee making facilities, strong smell of cigarette smoke in lift and corridors and the six rooms my party occupied even though there was a no smopking policy apparently in force. Location of the hotel by a main road meant it was very noisy at all times with windows open.
Excellent experience We arrived at the hotel at 3 in the morning. I phoned in advance around 19:00 to obtain the car park access code. However, the receptionist spoke no English and with my limited French we could not obtain the code. This was stressful as I had a trailer with me and an expensive car and did not want to leave it on the road. If your staff cannot converse with guests then perhaps this vital piece of info should be on the reservation mail. Ie Go to reception and enter Red id into Automated machine Obtain room key Car park access code is on the key ring
upstairs looked ok. it had been refurbished. there were plugs in the bedroom and not only in the toilet. the rooms were nice and bright and it was quiet. they had redone the cafeteria but there was no lobby like there used to be. the hotel was being refurbished so there was lots of noise especially in the morning. i had to buy insect spray as i was being bitten in the room. my room was dark and dingy. there were kids screaming and running in the corridor all night long.
Price is fair poor location as too much noise outside makes it difficult to sleep. Also the room is smely of smoking and no towels provideded
Parking felt very secure and the tram line was right outside the front door. The hotel is meant to be non smoking but was over powering with the smell of stale tobacco. It was clear that guests next door were also smoking and sending fresh fumes into the room through the oddly arranged secondary glazing.
No light in lobby. Lobby and romm had a smell like tobacco and urine? Room old, dull and dingy. Sheets marked. Burn hole in bed cover (in a non-smoking room!). Some formica on furniture loose and broken.
No staff at night, making arrival time difficult. The room said No Smoking but the room smelt of smoke. The room was very noisy at night with someone singing loudly into the early hours.
None No staff at night and room next to ours had about ten people in it and it sounded like they were having a party. After two requests for them to be quiet with no response, we phoned the number given in the room for such a problem and it was connected to an answerphone. We left a message and were about to leave the hotel at midnight when the noise quietened somewhat and we managed to get some rest.
The hospitality and friendliness of the owners was great and the fact that English was spoken if necessary was extremely useful. The accommadation clean, comfortable and unique. As a centre to explore the area this hotel is in a great position for both countryside and seaside.
Very friendly, warm welcome on arrival. Accomodation full of character in lovely countryside. The owners were very helpful giving lots of information on local places of interest for us to visit. None.
This second visit to La Ferme Saint Nicolas was as good as the first if not better as we had superb dinners in the evening this time. Our hosts were charming and friendly.
The owners were very welcoming, friendly and provided lots of advice about local attractions. Table d'hote meals were very enjoyable and gave the opportunity to engage with the other guests, and sample the local cider, calvados and cheese.
The courtesy and warmth of the owners, the food, both at breakfast and dinner (when possible), the quietness of the location, the size of the family suite.
The family atmosphere our hosts created amongst the international guests at meal times was a delight and the quality of the breakfast and dinner menus was outstanding.
Very quiet setting. Owners of the inn asked if we'd like to stay for dinner for 20 Euros a person. Good meal and good value. Owner ate with us, as did others who were staying for the night. Very cute cottage with two separate bedrooms and a futon that comfortably slept 6 people. Cozy setting. Glad we stayed here. A really intimate feel.
Excellent service - Stayed overnight on the way to Calais with Family. We checked in late and requested an early breakfast. Breakfast was therefore provided in our room and was excellent. The room actually turned out to be a small gite with 2 bedrooms, lounge/diner & kitchen etc, with a rural outlook onto a farm. Would highly recommend for anyone travelling with a young family - Watch out for the turkey though!!!!!
Very good breakfasts and a very nice dinner for additional payment. Very friendly owners. Excellent environment - clean air and picturesgue surroundings in a village style. Interesting room decoration. Maybe, it would be better to improve a little heating system in a room. It was a bit unusual to do everything very quickly not to be frozen in the evenings.:)))
Much has been said about the breakfast, and it is all true! We didn't try the evening dinners, but heard very positive things about that from other guests as well. The location is quiet and very nice with the animals on the grounds of the farm. Nice places like Etretat and Honfleur are within easy reach, and other places like Le Mont St Michel are just a 2 hour drive away. The room was simple, but the bed very comfortable. The owners do everything they can to make your stay a pleasant one.
Nothing, we booked out the following morning, had booked 4 nights. Room was dirty, sink in bathroom was grubby, room was damp.
The room was basic but quite comfortable with parking outside the door of the room. Very convenient. The toilet facilities were clean but the small cabin rooms did not have their extractor fans working. Very clostraphobic.
Especially the friendliness of the staff and the comparably excellent restaurant.Good parking facilities. The room (for smokers) we had was shabby and very small.
the food Room needed decorating, wall paper coming off the walls. Also no coffee or tea facilities in the room.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very nice buffet breakfast. It would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the room, and the room was a little warm.
The staff were very helpful and the restaurant excellent. The car park gate needed oiling.
We stayed in a triple room, but the single bed was perched on top of the toilet and bathroom. No chance of our 4 year old being safe in it. We had to climb up and put the mattress on the floor.
One bed a little uncomfortable
Restaurant Le Seinomarin was very good With our room, there was a loud noise like a flushing toilet during the night, which went on for about 15 mins.
Rooms quiet, clean and very comfortable. A few undesirable people hanging around.Price for breakfast extortinate - and no reduction for children!
the hotel was very clean and comfortable and the fact we were able to have a spacious family room (one double bed and two singles) was ideal for our family. the only negative thing was that there were'nt any restaurants nearby so we'd hoped to eat at the hotel but the menu on the front of the hotel only had a very limited range of dishes so we had to drive out to find food.
It was ideal as a stopover on the journey to Western France. We only stayed one night but really enjoyed our stay. It was a traditional style hotel in lovely surroundings which made a pleasant change to the usual cheap stopover hotels. Breakfast was lovely, it would have been nice to have stayed for an evening meal too!
Restaurant food was nice but limited. Rooms were very small and a bit tired.Hotel restaurant was closed the evening we stayed and there was nowhere else to eat in the town, they did however agree to cook us a meal which was very nice.
Splendid setting, fantastic views of the Seine. An absolutely perfect weekend. The owners treated us wonderfully. We were greated uopn our arrival and treated to a tour of the property and some refreshing cider. The owners even antecipated us wanting to go out for dinner and booked a table at a lovely restaurant in a town nearby. Delicious breakfast in the garden the following morning. We will definetely come back!
La Bonne Auberge is run by Jan who is the 'most perfect' host, the breakfasts were delicious, breads, jams, eggs, wonderful cheeses and a homemade dish of fromage blanc and chestnut, the best by far on our tour of France this year. Our accommodation was lovely and situated in the most wonderful setting in a beautiful garden filled with magnificent trees and flowers and with a view of boats sailing past on the river.
