Wonderful surrounding, nice rooms and excellent breakfast
Everything. The room, the common areas, the restaurant, the library - just great
This is an unusual hotel where the rooms are located in several buildings around very tranquil gardens and ancient orchards. With orientation to the common areas - library, lounge with self serve beverages, breakfast room and gardens, we learned about the area as well as our hosts and hotel. We had very substantial breakfasts and a delicious dinner using organic produce and locally sourced food. The hotel is built on quite a steep hillside and does not have an elevator. Not suitable for people with ambulation difficulties.
Loved the room and the enjoyed relaxing with friends in the adjacent comfortable lounge and balcony. Very good breakfast. Enjoyed using sauna and spa for a modest fee. Interesting architecture and decor. Country setting with great views over the valley. Location good for several day trips to the nearby tourist sites. Very friendly service Unable to use WIFI in our room or common area during the 3 days we were there.
We have stayed here before and will stay again when in the area. The location makes it easy to explore the whole region from the tranquility of the countryside location. The staff are friendly and very welcoming. The restaurant "on the hill" serves a reasonable 4 course set menu and a small choice of pretty good wine. We love this place!!
very clean & comfortable. Helpfull staff.
Beautiful setting. Terrific outdoor space. Wonderful communal space. Mediocre service staff. Confusing check-in. No communication of hotel service habits. No room clean-up or bed make-up. No phones in rooms. No way to contact any hotel staff in the evenings for extra pillow or necessary toilet paper. Had to "borrow" pillows from a sofa. Terrible coffee in morning (and we love French coffee and this was bad: weak, taseless.)
Wonderful and unique property.
Old stone buildings renovated into hotel rooms. Rooms are all different, decorated with antiques and funky garage sale furnishings. Really great communal living room with books and tv etc. Decent bed unlike much of european 2 star hotels. The "town" of Villeferry where Le Verger is located is not much more than a small collection of houses but it is close to other small towns that are worth day trips like highly reccomended Semur-en-Auxois. Nice quite in the country place to stay. Suberb help and welcome from Julian.
This hotel was perfectly adequate for our purpose of breaking the journey from the UK to Italy, and was good value for money. The design of the shower in the room that we were given was poor and could result in injury.
Perfect place, not far from the city, and perfect comfort in the bedroom.
The hotel is situated near to the old village, worth a visit. Good pool and comfotable rooms with good food and wine. No complaints
Proximity to Semur was good with great views. Hotel was well-appointed. Staff were efficient. Bit soulless.
