The common rooms were great. It was really nice to have the opportunity to meet new people, when spending time in the TV and internet-room, and in the kitchen. All of these rooms were newly renovated, and the self-catering kitchen was quite well equipped. I stayed in a 4-bed room. It was really small and there was barely room for one person to stand at one time. However, because you spend very little time in the room, it was good enough. The bed quite hard, but I slept well still. The bathrooms and showers were clean, but they were old and shabby, but hopefull they are planing to renovate them soon.
I really liked the humanity of the staff I did not like the toilets and showers were broken because
Fantastic location right near Kings Cross station, excellent value, great overall look and feel, very laid back & surprisingly quiet
For what I have paid,I cannot complain,I did sleep well and wake up in the morning could not complain for that The only thing I noted was when I arrived I gave my name, the receptionist told me to pay in Cash(£10) she could not take payment on the card since it was just £10,any other alternative, what if I did not have cash on
friendliness of the staff, already recommended to several others
Toilets and showers Luggage room is not properly secured
Surprisingly comfortable youth hostel, helpful staff. Good value for money. Noisy bar but luckily our room was far away from it. Noise from other residents coming home late disturbing at night.
Location was good. Reception staff very friendly. Breakfast was a bit like organised chaos and the kitchen and accomodation staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful. Also, charging £2 per towel per day was a bit ridiculous.
Annoying and dirty.
Very helpfull staff and some are even french speakers. Great breakfast organisation and good choice. Nice to have a bar in the hostel for the first night ! Having a big and comfy living room would be nice.
Friendly and clean. Breakfast included. Cosy. Nice building.Good sound-proofing. Room too small, Lockers not big enough for small suitcase.
Price Room was a bit small
The place is fantastic and the staff was very kind.
The location is outstanding - clean and very quiet but close to supermarket, and only a few blocks from an important tube station, pubs, and natural history museum. Free access to kitchen, refrigerator, and microwave. Very basic, nothing fancy. Low water pressure on the 5th floor; water often had to run for 5-10 minutes before it became hot enough for shower; breakfast room often extremely crowded. No desk; many rooms shared with other guests; often more than one room sharing a single bathroom.
Member of staff was pleasant and helpful The room floor had not been vaccumed this was obvious by the amount of fluff on the carpet
Very friendly, cheerful staff and the location was quiet but not far from the buzz of the city. Great price too! We did have to wait quite a long time to check in :0(
The sight from the window Insects
You get what you pay for dont be to alarmed if it is not the best hotel in the world be realistic
It was very clean. It was calm, we weren't interrupt by other guests. The bathroom and toilet were always available. The Internet connection wasn't good.
hostel location is very good, price/performance ratio is excellent.
The Hostel was fair for the price it cost. No fancy stuff - which I didn't expect. Served the purpose!
just location comfort in the room, dirtiness
Location, location, location and oh my god, the price was unbeatable. but please read on to see the justification for such a good price! I first read reviews of this hostel when I was booking it, and thought "it can't possibly be that back!" So I gave it a try. believe everything!! The reviews don't lie! What a dump! Bugs everywhere, the kitchen was filthy! The rooms had stains everywhere! And to make everything even better, the staff is absolutely incompetent! Complete Bollocks! Someone please call pest control!
The room was horrid there was mould on the bed sheets the room smelt damp and discusting. The toilets where in a mess and didnt lock, there was stains on the wall. The reception was rude and abrupt. The beds themselfs didnt look as though they had been clean.
they dont provide any receipt after your purchase; the breakfast is included but is is only jam and bread
Leaving!! Room was cold, unclean and there was loud music most nights I was there, till 3 or 4 am.
I really enjoy staying there, the staff were very welcoming and there were very organise The only thing I did not enjoy was the coffee shop, there were not food and I ask for salt which there refuse to give because I wasn't buy anithing from the shop. I find it very ridiculous.
Cheap It was a horrible experance, the matress was the worest I have ever rested on. The corridors smelt of urine. There was no where to store securly any items, just put it behind the counter.
It's a hostel but it's a decent hostel compared to some I've stayed in. It is in easy reach of the Kensel Green Tube Station which means a lot for transport and in adjacent to a cemetery which means that it is actually quiet for a London location. There is no place to lock up your personal items like most hostels have in room (cabinet with a lock). The drains stop up in the showers and in-room sink, and some of the high bunks have no ladder, just a rickety chair placed in the room for use to climb up or get down from the bunk bed. Also, not enough toilet paper is stored in the ladies loos so when you have to relieve yourself in the morning, you must bring your own. Oh, there is never any soap stored in the ladies toilet depensers mounted on the walls so again, you must bring your own. One shower is found in each room so it you need to clean up, everyone in the room knows it. They have shower stalls in the toilet areas but the plumbing is incomplete so they do not work at all.
It was nice stay at hotel and the staff at the 639 was excellent. at least one private light should be mounted which can restrict light in the 4 bed room so that without disturbing others one can do his job at his bed.
The performanceof the staff is very good and the value of money is fair. The bed is big enough and and the breakfast is not bad. The bed clothes should be cleaner.
Its nice to share a first experience in a foreign town wit many other people from the whole world. some of them are just like you, other have more experience to teach you. And you have a nice coffee shop to relax, seeing moovies and stuff the shower in the room was a bit hard to take with people inside
Friendly and welcoming staff, location excellent, warm room and hot water. For the price very good value. Difficult to find bathrooms and toilets - should be marked on the door.
Nada positivo, solo la ubicación Mala atención, pésima limpieza, baños compartidos sucios, habitación sin calefacción, simplemente horrible. No se lo recomiendo a nadie
location and staff broken plug sockets, dirty floor and toilet facilities
Very good location! The hotel is close to three underground tube stations, Charing Cross Station, Temple Station, and Covent Garden Station. It is almost at the center of London, and serves as a good transportation hub. I didn't find any special bad points. The shower drained a little bit slowly, but the other youth hostels that I had been also had the same problem.
Great location, cheap for the area Some noise up to 3am from the inevitable party-crowd travellers that such a cheap place attacts. No hot water one day. Blocked showers one day.
Gd staff at check in. Breakfast staff less impressive - alth busy with lots of things ! Cleannliness no kettle or tea Worn furnishings
The reception person from the us living in the uk (1) dirty carpet, not vacuumed, (2) minimal breakfast offered, (3) manager turned off heat in bar while I was working on my computer, (4) no light in shower room and did not bother to replace when brought to their attention, (5) housekeeping ceased after the second day, (6) had to prepay full 7 days upon check-in and had a key deposit, (7) wi-fi only available in the bar, (8) no change of linen for the full 7-day stay, (9) no change of bath towel and no bath toiletries (** this list is not a complaint, just a statement of fact **)
Nice friendly staff Very basic facilities, very dated and the carpets need a good clean, new towels required and cleaner linen.
Great wifi. Kind front-desk personnel.
Nothing This hotel obviously had an S missing from the word. If there had not been a £50 deposit lost I would have relocated to somewhere else. There was no lift, 5+flights of stairs before you get to a room where the curtains are only hanging on by a couple of hooks, you were expected to make your own bed, and there were traps for cockroaches under the beds.
nothing much , honestly speaking, It is dirty and had bugs I was bitten everywhere u can think of. nothing much , honestly speaking, It is dirty and had bugs I was bitten everywhere u can think of.
No good points Very dirty. I book for a room for 2 persons. They gave me a room for 1 person with an extra-bed. Extra bed was very uncomfortable
