The rooms were very comfortable and the location of the hotel was very nice with great views. We arrived late due to a flight delay and a long journey by car from Bordeaux and the restaurant was closing, although they were kind enough to provide us with a limited menu of very palatable food. The following night when we returned the place was completely shut up with no staff available. We wanted an early check-out and struggled to make ourselves understood and get out of the hotel on time on the final morning.
Good location and good value for money
The hotel was comfortable and in a good location for our journey. The food was good and one of the staff was very friendly and professional Our stay was marred by one extremely unwelcoming member of staff who seemed to resent us staying in the hotel.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, value for money, fabulous location, peaceful atmosphere, wonderful views. Would definitely stay again. No late bar or refreshment facilities,no hairdryer
A modern, clean and spacious hotel with welcoming staff. It was easy to find and although on the main road into Aurillac was very quiet. Easy to find good places to walk the dog who was travelling with us. Breakfast was ok. It is a short drive to get to the centre of the town for restaurants but other than that the hotel is good value.
Sleeping, after a very long drive from Montpellier Despite directions, finding it in the dark, with two roads with similar names, was an unwanted challenge
receptionist very helpful &lbuffet breakfast booked a triple(3 beds,) given a double bed + a single. For 3 men. not pleased
Staff very helpful made good recommendation for food locally. Cheap budget hotel ideal as a one night stopover on way South. Good breakfast well presented
the setting and history were exquisite.
The hotel was everything we hoped for and the views from the grounds and our bedroom amazing. The food was first class . We enjoyed the fitness centre as the swimming pool unfortunately was closed at this time of year.
sprendid view from the hotel windows and beautiful attendance of the owner of chateau. there were few guests in the hotel due to out of season,so restaurants menu was a bit poor.
Position Room lighting
The location and setting were absolutely superb. The pool was very clean and the view from the restaurant was stunning Coffee at breakfast was dreadful - a bit quiet for our liking - everyone spoke in whispers
Comfort of rooms Tried to offer us same table d'hote menu two nights running
perfect restaurant and swimming pool in nice calm landscape
we liked the view of the valley and the surrounding mountains, and the outside terrace. The lack of staff, the size and furnishing of the room and the general grubbiness of the hotel.
The accommodation and setting. Our welcome was very poor. We were not shown our accommodation and had difficulty finding it as there were no available staff and no signs. We were not given any information regarding meals, dining room, or facilities. We did approach the manager in charge with our complaints and he was very pleasant. They did try to make amends but unfortunately the initial impression was very poor and lasted
Comfortable hotel in a picturesque location. Excellent restaurant. Lack of signage made it difficult to find.
Good location, nice garden.
the people were very friendly and everything was clean much noice in the rooms you hear everything from the other rooms the bed was very bad
The outlook from our window of the courtyard and garden; the quietness of the town and hotel; the lift (we both have arthritis and find it difficult getting heavy bags up stairs - we generally stay in France for a month and have quite a bit of luggage). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The fact that we had free parking. No - the food was good, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean - we do have trouble getting into bath, so it would have been better for us if there was a walk-in shower.
The staff were all extremley friendly and were very helpful. They also let us leave our case in the hotel for a few days while we travelled and then we stayed there again in a different room ( see reason below). They had a lovely parc to sit in which was part of the hotel. The shower holder was broken so we had to hold the shower head. We mentioned this to the staff when we arrived ( I can speak fluent french) and 24 hours later nothing had been done , so I asked for a key to another room for the 2nd day to have a shower. later that day they fixed it. Also in room 212 ( I think ) the toilet was so close to the door that you could hardly close the door when you sat down..Breakfast was 10 euros which was quite expensive , so we had breakfast in a nearby cafe for 4 euros.
Centrally located, free WIFI, good value.
The hotel staff were friendly however the room was disappointing. The bed did not have a headboard which led to disappearing pillows. The showe was almost bigger than the room.
Clean, good sized room. Good restaurant albeit breakfast bit limited No air conditioning so window open overnight-some local traffic noise
Very friendly staff and also an excellent restaurant! We slept near the stairs so the room was a bit noisy.
Excellent cuisine.Lovely family room with mezzanine.Beautiful scenery.Welcoming staff.Would definatley return .
Fabulous view from room --so close to all the Cantal valley tour routes-- some roads scary--not the hotel fault-- Wonderful evening meal and wine for the set menu, one of the best regions in France and worth the detour away from the main routes-- will return
The staff were very helpful and the rooms were very clean and tidy each day. The menus on offer were excellent with a high standard of presentation and a variety of local produce and dishes available. Excellent wine list too.
Warm greeting on arrival. Helpful and attentive (but not intrusive) staff. Everything was very 'stylish'. Website said that the rooms were very individual - and they were. Our 'Comfort' room overlooked the courtyard/terrace (bit intrusive having a path right outside your ground floor room window, but the rooms have nets and automatic shutters) and had a brown and cream butterflies theme throughout, with a four poster bed with light net 'curtains'. Even at dinner, the salt and pepper are stylish 'sculptures' of two figures in an embrace. Lovely. Would recommend. Its quite a way from the town centre and, strangely, in a 100% residential area. But perfect for an overnight stop if you are passing through.
Helpfulness of staff and quiet situation out of town Rooma quite small
Simple family hotel. Nice swimming pool. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are still adequate but will need renovation soon. Location within walking distance of city centre: 30 minutes going to the city, 40 minutes coming back (because of steep hill). Not very convenient, but there is no better alternative. Slightly smelly rooms.
