Pros: We had the best stay at Le Clocher. Arriving early, cold and drenched, Florent the owner took us in straight away, helped us store our bikes, orestored us with a cup of coffee and made us feel at home. Our room was beautiful, the view stunning. Evening meal with the other guests was fun and it carried over to breakfast. Veronique and Florent were warm and their hospitality second to none. Wish Veronique offered cooking classes. Saint-Julien is a quaint, picturesque, quiet little village perfect for us cyclist.
Pros: The owners are doing their utmost best to give you the best overnight stay. Also I can recommandeer the very nice dinner as well. Top location!
Pros: Lovely situation and very well furnished. The hosts were superb, dinner was lovely and breakfast was excellent. The only downside was that we had the family rooms.. both were quite small and a bit tight getting bags and ourselves in and out...
Pros: The hosts couldnt do enough for us, we were 3 bikers and had a 3 course evening meal for a minimal price and it was brilliant. the rooms were spotless and the views were amazing. We will be returning next year for certain. The seating area is nice outside and the village is very quiet.
Pros: Delicious Meal, beautifully decorated and very friendly reception.
Cons: Cash only but not so bad as there is a cash point very local in town.
Pros: A warm welcome, fine cooking, a very comfortable bed and breakfast with a view. What more can you possibly wish for.
Pros: Veronique and Floran are charming friendly couple for whom nothing was too much trouble. A very welcome discovery was the small bar and being able to enjoy a cold beer on the terrace as the sun went down. The property is a lovely old building with plenty of character. Our room was perfectly adequate and comfortable with fantastic views and we had an undisturbed night. We were given a very good welcome on our arrival and a sad farewell on our departure. A further discovery is that were able to eat at the property on a Sunday evening (which seems unusual in France) with an excellent meal prepared by Veronique.
Pros: The very friendly hosts and the quiet environment. For travellers spending the night for a stopover, it is very convenient the owners also offer a "table d'hôtes", i.e. a fixed menu, so you don have to scout for a restaurant when arriving. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the valley is great in summer.
With a stay at A La Grenouille in Bellignat, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Haut-Jura Regional Nature Reserve and Museum of Combs and Plastics. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Andre and Nadine were the most warm, friendly and welcoming hosts who went out of their way to look after us and advise us about the area. Their house is very peaceful and comfortable. Our room was enormous and the en suite bath and shower room very spacious. Everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast outside was a special treat and delicious!
Cons: There did not seem to be a restaurant in the immediate vicinity. The drive to Nantua was not long and there were plenty to choose there, but after a long day in the car would be nice to have something in walking distance - but this is a minor gripe and no reflection on Andre and Nadine’s wonderful hospitality.
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, even better when outside. The two lovely dogs.
Pros: Nice Place, big garden for the kids to play, nice breakfast outside. Beautiful space room and bathroom with bath.
Pros: Friendly owners, good value for money, free parking. The building is a bit old, but the facilities are well-equipped. If you're social people, owner's hospitality will be very appriciated.
Cons: It dépends on people. At least I don't prefer to eat breakfast chattting with owners and other guests. I appriciate their kindness and hospitality, but it's too much for me. Smell of animals.
Pros: Our hosts were so lovely, attentive and friendly. The room was large, clean and beautifully furnished with a superb ensuit bathroom. The district was attractive and quiet, the house had secure parking and lovely grounds. A perfect place to stay.
Cons: There is nothing to dislike about this wonderful guest house.
Pros: Such a welcoming couple. We felt at home and we really enjoyed breakfast and had a wonderful chat with the owners over coffee. Ideal family room which caters easily for a family of 2 adults and 3 children. We will return.
With a stay at Hotel Melodie in Bellignat, you'll be in the suburbs, within a 10-minute drive of Haut-Jura Regional Nature Reserve and Museum of Combs and Plastics. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: BREAKFAST IS A REAL MEAL - ORANGE JUICE IS JUST PRESSED AT ONCE
Cons: WELCOMING WITH A "DIRECTOR" wich is a flunkey and have a huge oedipe complex . He cries ,enter the room with his own keys when you are in , I had to lodge a complaint .I was afraid . WARNING DANGER.
Pros: Very high standard if compared that this is only 2* hotel. If I were to rate hotel Melodie I would give them > 3*
Pros: Location / breakfast / staff / friendly / fast check in & out.
Pros: Charming mountain hotel with completely modernized comfortable rooms. The hotel has a lovely restaurant with delicious local food. The host is very welcoming. She takes her time and does everything to make her guest feel welcome!
Cons: Whereas the rooms are modern and newly renovated, the corridors feel a little dated. Yet that is a really minor point for what is a charming and welcoming place!
Pros: I like the room although just above dinner area and facing the road so noisy if the windows opened. Everything looked new in the shower and lavatory.
Pros: Lovely newly refurbished room, peaceful location. Excellent evening meal in the hotel restaurant. Friendly staff.
Cons: Wi-fi a bit eccentric!
Pros: Great little stay over the staff were very friendly and the food was very good
Pros: Very friendly, the food was all home made and excellent, I felt very comfy there, great place to stay for a few days or for passing through.
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable.
Pros: We were cycle touring in the Jura and Thoirette was a key, if somewhat remote, stopping point. The Auberge is effectively the only place to stay. However, the welcome from Sandrine and Nadia was exceptional. They are both very warm and friendly hosts and nothing is too much trouble. We were unfortunate in having had a very wet ride and arrived soaked. Although the weather was quite warm they insisted on firing up the heating so that we could get warmed up and dry our clothing. We ate in the restaurant and the food was an excellent example of French country cooking at its best. Sandrine was tremendously helpful in advising on matching local wines to the food. We opted for a king room with lake view and it was superb. It had recently been refurbished to a very high and stylish standard. All in all this was an exceptional place to stay in lovely surroundings, and greatly exceeded our expectations.
Pros: Location is beautiful, right on the river. A great place to stay on a Sunday evening as their restaurant is open, unlike many other places in France. Very friendly hosts. Room clean and comfortable. Dinner was delicious and good value for money. Good breakfast for an extra cost.
Pros: Great location, quiet, close to the Vouglans lake. Ideal for a one night stop for our moto trip. Comfortable clean spacious modern room with 2 windows, view (partially) on the nearby lake. Nice small terrace. Beautiful garden. Friendly staff.
