For the Million Pound refit it has no closet & not enough hangers. A stip hook on the back door of the bathroom to hang towels!! Matrress covers that DONT fit. Sheets that DONT fit. We dont like duvets. Miscommunications with staff-or lack of staff. Had to ask for towels, tissues, cream, coffee & sugar which should be replaced every day. It caters for Weddings & stay-overs who don't care what shape things are in when they have had too many drinks. Weddings would be a good fit. Long stay like ours 16 days was eventful & there weren't staff at the desk to wish you good evening or good morning. If there were they ignored you, more interested in what they were discussing. We did not eat at the hotel ever. Breakfast was too expensive for someone with allergies. We heard from friends they went for dinner & waited for 1/2 before one person asked when they would be served? Noone got back to them & they left. He told the staff he would return in 3 months to see if things improved. He did & it was still the same. They want to cater to the weddings & functions & people staying over after having a good time. This I think they seem to have the staff available for.
Pros: Location. Close to downtown but without the noise. The rooms we stayed in were quiet even though they have entertainment of fridays & weddings on saturdays.
Cons: Does not cater to people staying more than 2-3 nights. No closet space & 6 hangers. Bathroom needs somewhere to hang towels-NOT the hook behind the door!! Had to ask for things, soap, towels, cream & coffee. We DONT like duvets-Leave a blanket in the room

Take the A120 off of the A12 heading for Harwich. After 4 miles take the A133 to Clacton. Follow Wellesley Road and head for the "Town Centre" at the mini-roundabout. At the next mini-roundabout turn left onto Pier Avenue and then bear left at the traffic lights onto Jackson Road where the Travelodge is located on the right-hand side.
Cons: Rooms need a complete refurb ( which has started apparently ) Poor greeting on arrival left car in car park while we took bags in and because not in a bay got threatened with a clamp!
