Pros: I rent often but have never used thrifty. I'm a loyal Enterprise customer. They happened to be out of cars so I tried someone new, so happy I did. The lady who assisted me at the location was so kind. I think I'm switching companies.

Pros: Fast service. Love the car.
Cons: This was the fault of Kayak which provided the wrong address to this Thrifty. I arrived at an abandoned Thrifty which had a sign posted on the wall saying there was a change in location.

Rented a full size suv - great value
Pros: Thrifty was extremely efficient - we landed at SNA, shuttled to Thrifty and were driving off in our rental within about 15 mins. Great value. Recommended.

Let your customers know if you are moving
Cons: When I made the reservation is gave me their location address near John Wayne airport, which changed two days, and two days before mu reservation to about 1/2 mile away. Luckily there was someone there to tell me and I was able to flag my ride down to take me to the new location.

Not at the airport.
Pros: Car was clean and cheap.
Cons: Car was not at the airport had to load my 8 bags onto a shuttle after waiting 15 minutes for it to arrive, with my wife and two kids, if you search for John Wayne airport, it would be nice if that's where the office actually was. Car was also much smaller than what I thought I was getting, the Kia was not similar in size to the Equinox I thought I was getting

Cons: The car I received smelled like a wet dog. There was dog hair all over. Customer service act like he didn't want to work there. At first, he said I am getting a new 2016 VW but when I didn't want to add the insurance since I am covered with my Amex he gave me a different car.

The worst car rental place that I ever had to endu
Pros: When I get to OC airport, I called the 800 number provided by kayak. They told me to go downstairs because it is at the airport. I went down with my heavy luggage, there is no rental place from thrifty... After another half an hour waiting for the shuttle... When I got to the counter, they told me a completely different rate... After another 20 mins to speak to manager, they agreed to give me a slightly higher rate. When I dropped off the car, the agent was very rude, it took so long to return a rental car

Cons: Customer service rep didn't have the vehicle I reserved and tried to give me a smaller option without asking if it was going to be ok.

Cons: Windshield washer fluid--empty. No pre-check on potential damage, and car in unlighted area, and just washed, at pick-up location, so presence of damage could not be easily checked.

I was overcharged. They said they couldn't give me
Cons: When I arrived, I found the price they were charging me was higher than the amount i reserved. They checked my record and said, "Oh that's because our online system calculated the taxes wrong. So you need to pay more than the reservation. They are taxes and we aren't getting that money so its not our fault." I told them that wasn't fair considering that I made a reservation for a specific amount of money. They said there was nothing they can do about it and if I wanted to cancel the reservation they would understand. That would have wasted another hour or two of my time finding a new rental car company and I couldn't do that as I was already heading to a meeting late. So I was forced to go for the amount higher than I booked (but according to them it wasn't Thrifty's fault although it was their website that calculated the taxes wrong). Also, my reservation was for a full size which Thrifty imagines to mean a Hyundai Elantra. Not really a full sized. Overall, a generally bad experience. Thanks Thrifty.

Kayak or Thrifty: one-way dropoff fee nondisclosur
Pros: Clean car. Great condition. Quick pickup and dropoff. Polite attendants.
Cons: I was charged a drop off fee for one-way rental that was not included in my Kayak confirmation email although the email clearly showed pickup and drop off in different locations. Don't know if the disconnect was on Kayak's end or Thirfty's end but this reflected poorly in both companies.

Off-Airport and SLOWEST Shuttle Ever
Pros: The car was fine. A Chevy spark.
Cons: The location is off-site and the shuttle is insanely slow. You could wait for twenty or thirty minutes and it is nearly impossible to find a direct phone number to the local Thrifty office to call and ask about the status of the shuttle.

Pros: I had to take first car back due to engine symbol. It was handled quickly and I was given a much more comfortable car. Ron @ Thrifty was polite, helpful, & great. All the employees there were friendly! I would rent from them again.

Cons: The employees at the counter were focused on personal conversations rather than the line of customers waiting to be helped. Once I was told to wait for the car outside, after 15 minutes of waiting, the car had been taken to a different location. I had also purchased insurance via online reservation, and was then at the location and somehow 2 insurances ended up on my bill. Will not be coming back to Thrifty.

Horrible experience. Do NOT use Thrifty
Cons: Office was off-airport, and very sketchy. They didn't have the car I reserved (minivan) which I really needed for all of my passengers and luggages. The small SUV they offered would not accommodate.
