7.9 Good
Pros: Great location, comfy beds, clean room, good shower, friendly staff

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely with a wonderful view of the countryside. Norma is an excellent host as is her assistant. The breakfasts were probably the best we have had. Norma is an excellent baker. We were greeted with tea, coffee and little cakes. At breakfast she insisted that everyone take her delicious homemade scones with them. The breakfast menu included smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and delicious pancakes with fruit - and what an array of fruit. All served with natural charm and friendliness, so much so that guests from different countries were soon talking animatedly together.
Cons: Nothing- the slow draining sink in the bedroom. A small quibble.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, a wonderful host excellent attention to detail and couldn’t be more helpful. Home from home thank you Norma
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you're looking for an accommodation in the area then don't look further! Everything was amazing: the location of the property, the room view, the room with a very confortable queen size bed and last but not the least the hospitality of Norma that exceeded our expectations. We had the greatest breakfast of our trip in Ireland: a great variety of options and home made scones that we were offered to take with us.
Cons: That we couldn't stay longer
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner welcomed us with a cup of tea and homemade muffins, which were more than appreciated after a long drive. The house is very cosy and the view from the room is spectacular: nature and peace is what you find when you stay here. The room had a private bathroom with all the facilities. The breakfast was excellent with homemade scones, fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese and cereal plus a selection of typical Irish breakfast.

Cons: There was nothing not to like
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner was a very friendly lady and couldn’t have been more accommodating ! She even dropped us in her car to the restaurant we were attending !
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was spotless and it had a very good shower. My husband said the full Irish breakfast was good. The hosts were friendly but no more than you would expect from anyone in that business. The location was good if you had a car, which we had. The sleep quality would have been good if we had the proper bedclothes.
Cons: Even though the bed itself was comfortable enough, the bedclothes were very uncomfortable. Instead of a duvet which you would expect there was a sort of woven blanket which was stiff and textured. On top of that was a heavy textured spread. It looked lovely but was not comfortable. The majority of accommodation nowadays have duvets which most people are used to having at home. There was very little choice if you are a vegetarian and less still if you are vegan. I asked for french toast the second morning but was told they don't do it. How hard would it be to oblige? The other gripe I have was not having the choice to cancel the booking even with adequate notice and having to pay full price if if you cancel or don't turn up. They will have saved on the breakfast, cleaning room, electricity and laundry etc. In future I will only book if I have the option to cancel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast more than excellet. Our host was welcoming informative and entertaining. Felt very relaxed and comfortable.
Cons: Every thing was excellent.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The Full Irish breakfast was spot on and freshly cooked each morning. The room was freshened up each day with biscuits and coffee etc., clean towels, dressing gowns and generally spruced up.
Cons: Nothing

8.3 Excellent
Pros: We booked the Long Quay Lodging on the same day we stayed there. We didn´t have high expectations about it so we arrived there at 21 p.m. and the woman had waited for us to show us our rooms. It was a nice big place, an appartment, which we shared with two other people in the room next to us. We could lock our room and we had our own bathroom which was really nice. The location is a 3 minutes walk from the center, and we had Wifi. All in all we weren´t complaining at all because it was the cheapest place we could find and we had a nice stay.
Cons: It was very clean although there were a few things I would add as the owner because it would make the whole stay better and it wouldn´t cost much. There was no soap in the bathroom to wash your hands with and the toilet seat was broken.

Pros: Good value for money. Not right in centre of town so away from noise at night.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast OK, location good. Faded and jaded carpets and flooring. Shower head broken. Very disappointed on arrival at the whole look of the hotel. Price affordable but nothing special about our stay.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good.
Cons: Cost
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is just perfect .
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was satisfactory. Staff were helpful and attentive throughout the hotel.
Cons: Room was old fashioned and could be updated. En suite was also old fashioned, and could be updated. There was no shelf or place for cosmetics, so ladies would need to apply any make up in the light of the dull bedroom instead. The toilet was unstable and would need to be better secured to the floor in the en suite as it was wobbly. There was a lot of noise from doors banging along the corridor whenever people entered or left their rooms. Perhaps a soft close feature could help fix this! Dining room for breakfast was very dull and felt devoid of any natural light. Centrally located in the hotel, it might benefit from redecoration to compensate for its lack of windows.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good central location in the centre of Clonakilty

Overview
This farmhouse has been in the owners family for more than one hundred years and has been thoughtfully updated to form the perfect family holiday home. Situated in grounds of more than an acre incorporating ancient ruined outbuildings, a viewpoint offering stunning sea views, lawned areas and a large decked area(enclosed for child safety), Kilkern is the sort of place you may not wish to leave. But if you have the desire to explore there are sandy beaches just a few minutes drive away, the picturesque award winning village of Rathbarry a mile away, the vibrant Clonakilty(home to much music and excellent restaurants) 5 miles away, and woodland and lakeside walks practically on the doorstep. Kilkern is as ideal for family holidays as it is for friends and couples to get away for a relaxing break. Make this country house your home base for a week's fishing, be it sea, lake or river (Argideen, Ilen, Bandon). Or perhaps golfing is more your thing: try the Lisselan Estate, Dunmore Golf Club, Skibereen Golf Club, Bandon Golf Club, Old Head of Kinsale Golf Club or Farrangalway Golf Courses, to name but the nearest courses.
