Food was very good Hotel in general was very Good Bar was cold, I think they were turning off the heat early to get the customers out early
The hotel is very comfortable and restful. You feel relaxed and secure when staying there. it was ideal as a base for my (not so young) mother whilst we were visiting the area.
Very god facilites Nothing
Have stayed at Ashdown number of occasions, staff very courteous, rooms nice & comfortable.Good atmosphere.
Every thing about the stay was very enjoyable and really had a good time. No,
I found teh staff very nice and the rooms were nice too I thought it was definitely a bit over priced as I know other nicer hotels you can stay in for teh same money
The food was excellent. The room was ok. The special offer they have is very attractive and excellent vakue for money. The leisure facilities were also great. We had a really good time. Not enough TV channels, cannot find anything else really...
Close to work.Very clean and modern
convenience to the Town Centre and Leisure Facilities Breakfast was Cold and there was a delay in serving the Tea and Toast had to ask twice for the Tea.
Location & Setting are beautiful.
We had 2 very young children with us and found the staff in the restaurant very helpful. Nothing!
Attended a wedding so found everyone was well looked after and the staff couldn't do enough aswell as the comfort of the hotel. i found the food to be very poor for the standard and cost of the hotel. wedding food was average, was expecting more for this hotel and the breakfast was awful.
Bedroom really nice. Great shower and bath suite with separate toilet. Nice view over golf course with autumnal colours when we visited. Nice bar, pleasant entertainment (it was Saturday night) and great breakfast. This hotel is definitely high on my re-visit list. Nothing.
The bedroom was clean and tidy, but one bottle of water is not enough. ONe bottle of water in the bedroom.
Nice informal atmosphere and friendly staff Found the toilet very small and claustrophobic, would have been better included in the bathroom
We were not able to check in at 3 o'clock as our room was not ready and we had driven down to check in for 3, and did not check in until 4. The reception desk were to notify us when it was ready but we had to go back to reception to see if it was ready and it was. Robes were missing from bedrooms and we had asked this question already as we were going for treatments.
Excellent food Service in the bar was very poor
Good value for money, great breakfast. Evening bar menue very limited, food only average, poor value for money.
The location was excellent,a top class hotel with customer values
The food was fantastic, staff were very friendly view from our room wasnt great, was also cold
yes standard of accommodation was not worth €177 p/n, have stayed in hostels very similar to hotel for standard for €40 p/n
my niece and i enjoyed the hotel for its spa facilities, the swimming pool is a fantasic size.we will be back! the taps in the bathroom need to be fixed. There was no bar menu in room, but a call to reception it was quickly rectified.room service very prompt
The room was clean but hotel public areas were dirty and not cleaned to a good standard by the following day. The only good thing is that it is centrally places for the town of Arklow. Far too noisy and hotel staff did not enforce rules such as no pyjamas in dining room and children running around in corridors after midnight.
Clean reasonable prices food drink Had room near function room so noisy
bedroom clean and no shortage of hot water no diningroom facility for evening meal bar ok for breakfast
frenily staff and very nice rooms
The Jacuzzi Steam Room Sauna and Swimming Pool were brilliant. Also the room location look over the bay was very relaxing. There was no entertainment.
friendly staff morning evening and night shift. 8 of my family stayed due to a bereavement. One of the twin rooms was tiny and the wardrobe was inaccessible for my elderly aunt due to the bed pushed right against it. The shower in the other twin room wasnt great.
Friendly staff Lack of ambience in bar area
The view from the room was superb - food was good - the only downside was one member of staff who was serving food was not good at her job.
food and service was excellent Nope, everything was good.
A very comfortable, quiet and pleasant place with a charming old-fashioned atmosphere.
no hassle just pay and get your room the foreign cleaner kept banging on doors to see if you wanted your room cleaned, check out is at 12, surely she could clean them after 12
Location, choice of restaurants in the hotel , breakfast The website had only photos of the hotel, not the lodge and it was not clear that the lodge was across the road, away from bar etc .
Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room in attractive building and scenic area.
Very friendly and welcoming and not upmarket. The price of drinks in the bar was far too expensive even for Ireland.
It felt very homey and comfortable not like modern hotels that are full of corridors that look the same. . The room was gorgeous and the view spectacular, it was spotless clean and had all the facilities we needed. The staff in the bar were great! Breakfast was lovely and all the guests were chatting with each other. Definitely will be back and will be recommending this hotel to everyone.
The atmosphere within the Hotel was one of friendliness and relaxation. Would have liked better lighting in the bedroom which we stayed in, perhaps in the dressing/wardrobe area.
The whole experience was fine
What's not to like? From the friendly & warm hospitality of Mick & Barbara to the decor and ambience of the house, I loved it and will definitely return. I liked the presence of pets about the place too...very homely feel. I was sitting outside on the 2nd evening and Mick came over to ask if I would like a complimentary glass of wine. Very nice touch and I gladly accepted. At the Old Coach House they operate an "honesty bar" in the guest lounge, this was good because my friend & I preferred to return to the beautiful lounge for a nightcap & a chat. All in all, possibly the most welcoming & charming guest house ive stayed in to date. No complaints
Traveling to Carnew,County Wicklow,Ireland from Canada,to visit family. Unfamiliar with roads, route etc. the Coach house is right on a main road, easy to locate and we were given directions to our family in Carnew that saved us time. The owners were extremely warm and knowledgeable about the area and made us feel at home from start to finish. Breakfast menu had something for everyone and you knew they would cook to any dietary needs. Greeted with smiles and a hand shake and said good bye the same..I would recommend staying here for value in every way..
It was quiet, charming, and in a lovely location The pub next door is owned by same people, didn't have as much on their menu as we had been led to believe based on sample menus on their website and despite winning numerous awards. The food was good, just not as much variety as we were expecting.
The owner was very friendly and helpful.
The whole house was at our diposal, you could really make your self at home, there was plenty of hot water, super clean and lovely decor, it was an excellent place to stay, highly reccommended and child friendly Nothing everything was fantastic
The house itself is a little remote but it's beautiful. The owners are very nice and helpful. Breakfast is good. Beds were comfortable and showers hot. I would ask for directions in Shilelagh because the hotel is not on most GPS's and it can be tough to find.
Hostess was very pleasant and friendly. Very peaceful house and location. Relaxed atmosphere. Tea/coffee and milk provided in rooms.
Loved the cat (mitsy)! She gave me such a warm welcome. None whatsoever!
I had never stayed at a guesthouse before, so this was a good opportunity to have that experience. All rooms are en suite, and the manager/hostess/owner makes a great breakfast. Not easy to find. Definitely out in the country, but I understand there's a lovely golf course nearby. But I'm not a golfer.
Vicki and the staff was excellent!
size of the room, friendly staff
Owners were very friendly and accommodating and went out of their way to help us out.
Peaceful surroundings. beautifully appointed and furnished. Very clean and friendly welcoming service.
I really enjoyed my stay at sean og's,found the staff really helpful and friendly and the hotel and food was lovley.
We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay, room lovely and staff helpful and friendly. Excellent food at bar along with excellent service by all staff. We spent an enjoyable evening in lounge area.
We found that the staff were just fantastic. It's been a long time since we have come accross a staff so friendly. It makes a lovely change. We had a lovely spacious room and the food was excellent. The only little problem we had was that the bathroom fixtures were coming off the wall and looked like a few attempts were made to stick them back. This however, did not impact upon our stay.
Great value for money
The friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere
Overall experience excellent, Staff excellent, The Overall Stay was, what can I say excellent and we will be back We where made very welcome nice people!!!!!!!!!! None
Convenient for the ferry from Rosslare - meant we didn't have to stay in Wexford which we don't like. Not very clean, the public areas in particular were dusty and the dark carpets needed a good hoovering - bad stench of sewerage outside and cleaning fluids inside. Check in wasn't very friendly. Breakfast was average.
Very clean with good food and very friendly staff None
lovely hotel, very clean. Spacias family rooms.excellent staff! Our bed was broken, didnt figure out that till the next morning. Slept funny.
Everything in the hotel excellent, from the staff to the food and drink to the bedroom, everywhere lovely and clean. I also loved the way they dealt with young children to keep them amused. None,
