Pros: It was clean. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Everything was very good. No complaints.
Pros: The food was wonderful.
Cons: Very basic rooms, old sytle service qualtiy, especially of the boss.
Pros: Straightforward, simple and clean. Excellent quality for the price. Retaurant serves OK food (has an english menu available) and fills up with locals almost every evening. Fun! When ordering a taxi, it arrives within 5 minutes (consistent across 3 occasions in past 2 years that I stayed here).
Cons: Hotel can only provide a bill in Cyrillic (Bulgarian). Friendly staff-member will explain it and it is not a problem for me but it may be a problem for other foreigners, if Hotel Balkan wants to attract them (2 international companies right next door to the Hotel).
Pros: Hotel Balkan was totally different than I expected for the price... in a good way. I was on the way back from vacation with my family and I only stayed for one night there. I checked in around midnight and because there is no 24/7 reception, the owner gave me his phone number. I called him when I arrived at the hotel and he came to meet me in a couple of minutes and showed us the apartment. I quickly noticed everything was very clean. Everything inside the rooms was very well made and a lot of attention was paid to details. Beds were comfortable and we had a good sleep. Bathrooms were spacious and we found everything we needed inside. A nice breakfast was served to us in the hotel restaurant in the morning. I would definitely return to this hotel if I have the chance.
Cons: The staff does not speak English, but that’s not a big set back because they can call anytime someone who does.
Pros: Goog location and price, easy parking
Cons: Poor cleanliness in room and very poor breakfast,

Pros: Silence and good soundproofing, clean liness and comfort in a large screen TV. 54-Channel programs. Special thanks (The boy named Ilija, also the woman and the young girl ..)to the hepfull staff at the hotel and for helping me get luggage the room! Tip: It can be displayed(with a note from outside before opening the door for the stairs)before opening the door where the light switch is,it is dark and the guests do not know that it is not automatically with sensors down the stairs!
Cons: The room was cool and I was cold gor 1-2 days. The view from the window is towards the rezidential Block with garages. Most of the time is quiet, but on the 2nd day, wood was cut in the garage with a machine (of course it does not depend on the hotel !).The sensor in the light corridor goes off very quickly, you have to prepare the keys in advance. The fix procedures or cash register and not delay it for the next day!(They the not give cash notes immediatelly upon payment. This is a systemic practice).I didn't know it the breakfast, except for the sandwich and the coffee, whether a bottle of water came in or not .
Pros: Well priced basic hotel with breakfast included. Friendly and hospitable staff. Basic room with shower and toilet. Wifi. Good e-mail/SMS communication.
Cons: Our room was on the street side what means some late and early traffic and people through the street.
Pros: Position - can easily walk up gorge from hotel. Had a bath rather than a shower. Balcony Really friendly staff. Comfortable sofa in room Quirky door numbering - look for Room 777. Breakfast area is delightful.
Cons: Would have liked a chair in the balcony. Nowhere to hang clothes other than the pegs by the door (some hangers would make it easier).
Pros: Friedly owner, cheap drinks in the bar, comfortable rooms
Cons: A bit small shower are in my room
Pros: Very pleasant and helpful staff. I arrived five hours early. Exhausted from my travels and welcomed me in. Made me a cuppa and let me wait in the warmth and got the room ready for me. It was comfortable and warm and clean. They had the ability to be there at all times to cater for you and the food was excellent! You can guarantee that you will not be disappointed. Its not rated as a five star hotel but I got a five star service. Blagodarya!!! to all from Annette in Ireland.
Pros: Nice little hotel - everything was fine. The host speaks only a little English butt is really friendly. He let me leave my bag at no cost until 4 p.m. so I could go hiking. Breakfast is served at 8 a.m.
Pros: Location and staff ok
Cons: Paid extra for a room with spa bath . After half an hour trying to get it to work ..got dressed to ask reception to be told it's broken ..by then water had cooled and no more hot water as only a boiler .so my relaxing spa bath turned into a luke warm dip
Pros: The place is great and the staff was very helpful. The hotel is located right next to the city center and very closed to the main bus station. Completely recommendable and will come back there for sure!
Situated in Vratsa and 3 km away from the city centre, Hotel Body M features air-conditioned rooms and free private parking. All rooms are air-conditioned and have cable TV and a private bathroom with a shower. Some also offer a terrace with views of the mountain Free WiFi and free parking are available. Sofia Airport is 61 km from the property.
Pros: very kind receptionist
Cons: upon entering the room a nasty smell from the sewer was struck, opening the windows and airing did not help much
Pros: no breakfast at hotel only Cafe machine
Pros: The staff on reception were helpful. The rooms were clean and we'll furnished.
Cons: At the back of the hotel there was a coach park with vehicles coming and going at all hours. The other guests in the hotel we're very noisy. There were a number of people walking round the corriders in the early hours knocking on doors.
Pros: It's a very clean hotel.
Cons: The location is far from the center of Vratsa. You can' t go anywhere without a car or a taxi.
Pros: Clean and cozy.
Pros: The hotel is new, so the rooms are nice and clean. There is a parking lot.
Cons: We were places in a room, which smelled of cigarette smoke, which should not be the case, since smoking is not allowed. Moreover, our room was facing the road, where trucks pass 24/7 and it was incredibly loud. The fridge in the room was so loud, that we had to turn it off to be able to sleep. So if you do decide to stay in the hotel, definitely ask for a room not facing the road. Our stay would have been much more pleasant.
Pros: Basically very good for what you pay. Clean, nice.
Cons: Maybe bit noisy because of the road. Only one complaint: it's a no-smoking hotel, and the first room we were offered had very strong cigarette smell. The second room was okay. The hotel should try to better enforce their no-smoking in the room policy.
Pros: Love staying here, very clean and modern. Great price. I would go as far and say best hotel in Vratsa
Cons: A bar or restaurant would make this one of the best hotels in the world lol

Pros: Clean, warm, quiet.
Cons: Internet doesn’t reach the room. Telly is old and has very few programs.
Cons: The acces road has pottholes
Pros: Excellent food, lovely clean room. I would definitely recommend this as a hotel to stay in
Just 200 metres from the Meshtchiite Tower in Vratza, this large hotel boasts a casino, indoor swimming pool and nightclub. All air-conditioned rooms come with free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. The indoor pool at Hemus Hotel has floor-to-ceiling windows and wooden loungers. Guests can relax in the fitness centre, sauna and solarium. Massages can be booked at reception. Breakfast is buffet style, and the Hemus restaurant serves both Bulgarian and international dishes. The nightclub includes a cocktail bar and hosts a resident DJ. All modern rooms have simple furnishings and a minibar. Each room includes a private bathroom with soft bathrobes and slippers. The Vratza History Museum is 200 metres away, and it is a 5-minute walk to a pedestrian shopping district. The impressive Ledenika Cave can be reached in 20 minutes by car, and parking is free.
Cons: Old furniture
Pros: Spacious room
Pros: The buffet breakfast. The pool.
Pros: Great location - center of the town, free parking
Pros: Very acceptable. Right on the main square. Birthday party in restaurant on Friday (2nd) night, but I was on 4th floor - so no problem. Panorama window with fabulous view of mountain massif immediately outside. Reception OK, not perfect but more than adequate. Good hotel restaurant. Star item - private Hotel swimming bath - vv beautiful. Museum (silver BC treasures from Rogozhen). Theatre next door. Drive up to Ledenika Cave z bends, but fun and at top visit the cave, congenial guided group on the hour (even in November): huge cavern in which Orchestra plays and audience is seated, probably mainly during the spring and summer. If you can venture (12 km) further along the ridge (or drive/taxi up). you can visit the monument to Hristo Botev, great hero of the 1876 resistance to the occupying Turks (but killed. His huge statue also adorns the main square outside the hotel., A very long/extended, attractive (non-traffic) walking main street; plenty of shops. I was taken up to a splendid restaurant (Chaika = Seagull) just outside the town limits, up an easily strollable path, or equally accessible by car/taxi. Other restaurants are generally OK, to judge by my visit in 1996 (even not long after Comunism collapsed). Several mountain ranges (the Vratsa hills are a far western offshoot of the Stara Planina - 'the ancient mountains' - which span the whole of Bulgaria as far as the Black Sea) are close by, Walking the hills is superb if you're up to it. Various beautiful monasteries (eg Cherepishki, Lopushanski, Clusurski) quite reachable by car. A drive to the Danube (say at Lom) not too onerous, Plainish, just a green-edged widish river, but at least you can say you've seen it. The ultimate trip is to Belogradchik, rather further (90 km/60m - at worst 2 hours there, 2 hrs back), where the sandstone pillars (a positive forest of them) are just amazing. Varshets (cold/?and hot) baths a possible.
Pros: The location is good, the view is great!
Cons: The hotel is ok, just keep in mind that it is an old one and so the facilities aren't in very good condition.
Located a 5-minute walk from Vratsa’s centre, Hotel Rade 2 offers en-suite rooms with a balcony, air conditioning and cable TV. The on-site restaurant serves Bulgarian and international dishes. Free Wi-Fi access is provided across the property. All of the non-smoking units at the Rade 2 Hotel also feature wooden floor, a fridge and a small seating area with sofa. The private bathroom comes with a shower and free toiletries. Car and bicycle rentals can be arranged at the 24-hour reception desk. Shuttle services to Sofia Airport, as well as Ledenika Cave and Parshevitsa Ski Slope, which are both 15 km away, are organised at a surcharge. The closest shops and restaurants are 500 metres from the premises, while Vratsa Bus Terminal is 3 km away.
Pros: Safe parking for the car, not far from the centre.
Cons: Strange smell in the room spoiled everything else, no breakfast (it was confirmed thru booking.com).
Cons: There was no breakfast arrangements at the location. Personnel does not speak but bulgarian.Despite `non smoking room` request, and the mark on the door, the whole room was deeply smelling of cigarette smoke. Innitial price, according to booking.com, was 18 euros, but I had to pay 25 euros and got no receipt for the cash paid . Bathroom sink broken and toilet ring very worn-out aand stained.
Pros: The rooms were really large. There was plenty of space. Vratsa is known to be a poor region in Bulgaria, so anyone travelling in the region should not have any high expectations for the hotels. In this case the bathroom was not completely clean, especially the bathtub, but the place is really ok. With little work, they can really make the place shine.
Cons: - When we arrived there was no one at the reception and the place was locked - I had to call the owner, who called the receptionist, who unlocked and gave us the keys. - The bathroom could use little more cleaning

Cons: The crew didn't speak english and the available menu was really narrow. Besides that, everything was perfect. Awesome spot, rooms and really close to Sofia
Pros: beautiful location

Pros: Enjoyed the rustic feel and the beautiful mountain backdrop
Cons: Difficult to get a good cup of English breakfast tea...
Pros: Great view, quiet, nice restaurant, lovely decoration
Cons: Everything was nice

Pros: We booked the place to spend 3 days with family ( 9 adults and 2 kids) in a quiet village so we can enjoy each others company and spend some quality time together. AND WE DID! I believe I have been using this website for every single trip since 2010 and this is my first time to give review score of 10 to anyone. Place was perfect. From every possible angle of review. Clean, cozy, amazingly designed and spaces. Everything inside is brand new and well thought of. Even before arrival the host was extremely informative and during the whole stay hardly tried to assist in every possible way. The house itself its huge, it has great fireplace and heating facilities, BBQ and nice sitting place for outside. Kitchen is fully equipped. Living room is huge and as we were 9 adults and 2 kids there was still space for everyone to sit on the sofa and play some board games (there are plenty available from the owner). The village is small and quiet and for my surprise the road to it (given the fact that is in Bulgaria) was very good and it took less than 1 hour to reach from Sofia Airport. I would definitely recommend this place. I would never look for another place of this type if I go back to this kind of trip and just come back here!
Cons: Nothing at all. Everything was well organized well well thought of. Nothing was missing and I cannot see any possible reason why anybody would ever complain about the facilities.

Cons: The floor wasn't cleaned.
Pros: Clean room with great view
Pros: Safe parking, good sized rooms, comfy beds, buffet breakfast.

Set amidst the forests of the Northwestern Balkan Mountains, Ledenika Lodge is just 200 metres from the Ledenika Cave and 9 km to ski slope Purshevitsa. It offers non-smoking accommodation with free private parking. Rooms are provided with a balcony, free WiFi, cable TV and private bathrooms fitted with a shower and free toiletries. Ledenika Lodge also houses a restaurant serving international cuisine, and an outdoor terrace with barbecue facilities. Pros: Excellent restaurant nextdoor. Ledenika cave and eko-paths are walking distance. Plenty of parking.
Cons: Beds are a bit written off:)
Pros: It was very clean and super nice smelling. All over the corridors smelled like they are just being washed. The staff was super nice. We had a great time!
Cons: There are no grocery shops nearby. However you can eat well at the restaurant right next to the lodge.
Pros: They tried to help us by driving us to another house ca. 4km away. Unfortunately it was really ugly there and the staff wasn't friendly at all.
Cons: We could not sleep there as the room we booked was not available. This is the first time that this happened with booking. com
Pros: I forgot to bring a lock for my bicycle, but the staff allowed me to put my bicycle in a locked room, where it was safe. The view was great. The room was very clean. The shower was nice and hot. The staff was very helpful.
Cons: I could not manage to get the heat on. I guess the heat is turned off in Spring, but my stay was in Early April. It was cold in the morning. ALSO: the website only permits one to make a reservation for two nights...but not one night. I thought that was inconvenient. Why can't I rent for just one night??? AND, the website said something like "Hurry, only two beds left!" But when I arrived, I discovered I was the ONLY one actually renting a room in the entire Lodge, so...it sounds like false advertisement, because there were MANY rooms available.
Pros: Room was to be expected for the price, beds were however comfortable, staff did not speak English very well but they did try, food was however very good, try the kavarma omelette, great location for the cave
Cons: The furniture is old, however the price for what you get is very good. The road to get up here is both long and needs to be improved, many potholes, and whilst we traveled a set of traffic lights, actually made the journey a little exiting
Pros: The staff were extremely welcoming and did all they could for us. The location had great views but worth noting it as the very end of a 5 mile very steep uphill climb. The road in and out was in very good condition though.
Cons: It is very tired and in need of a total overhaul. There was no heating in October - the lady on duty found us a blow heater. It could be extremely nice if renovated but otherwise is really a backpackers hostel at best and not a hotel really. Paid for breakfast when booking and then had to pay extra for coffee with it on the day ! Not what you expect really. Hotel had that damp/musty smell everywhere with peeling walls. Plenty of hot water for showers though
Pros: The nature was awesome.
Cons: The room wasn´t very comfortable. The bed also can be changed with double when the room is double.
Pros: Beautiful mountain scenery and not so much tourists as I had expected
Cons: A lot of annoying flies everywhere.
Pros: Nice hotel directly at Ledenika Caves, good breakfast at the restaurant, very quiet and in a remote mountain area near Vratsa. Nice TV with even english channels.
Cons: The bed was a little bit uncomfortable, hotel could use a little renovation.
