the breakfast was definitely a FULL breakfast and for our family of 4 probably would have easily been a $50 meal saved each day. the portions were huge and food was without a doubt, fantastic!!! the hotel is older, but well maintained. pool was a great addition to give kids something to do and for us to relax. the only thing i was disappointed with was from the map i thought the hotel was walking distance to allen street, but it isn't. only a few minutes from the center of everything and from the other accomodations i saw within walking distance was glad we ended up here.
we were happy with the room. very comfortable, very clean. Grounds were very nice. pool very clean. great views. non smoking rooms but had lots of places to go to for smokers. nice little breakfast included. nice cafe. Check in went smoothly and the staff was friendly. can't find anything to complain about. I would go back and would recommend to others.
Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Free restaurant breakfast was good, large portions (my kids couldn't eat it all!).
This is the place to stay--this is an old hotel which is maintained immpecably. They have wonderful gardens and the rooms face the 'Historic Dragoon Mountains' which also have fire-pits which are lit in the evening. The resturant is very affordable and the food is very good (italian)-good selection of wines and beers. Most importantly, the staff is very friendly and willing to assist on any information or sightseeing you want to do. Will definitely be back. Excellent experience.
The staff were very nice and the breakfast was great. The room was small and old looking and smelling but if you were very tired and a heavy sleeper you can sleep through the very thin walls.
I have been a loyal customer of the best western chain for years. This by far is the worst place i have ever stayed the room was filthy ,bug ridden. The faucets on the sink didn't work the mattress had large holes in it . The room stank of mildew and mold. Then to top it all off the management at this place chaged me triple for my 'barn' stay And gave a huge hassle on returning the funds.
my wife and i stayed here in aug of 2009 and had a wonderfull time. the staff was knoweldgeable and friendly. the rooms were renovated in 2006 which made our stay very comfortable in a hotel built in 1968. having read the other reviews i was fully prepared to pay much extra for the convience of the reastaraunt on site and somewhat unhappy to find it closed for dinner (but please with the 10% off in downtown rests.) and the breakfast was included which more thanmade up for the dinner option. on a more personal note i got quite a chuckle to read the only negative review of this quaint little hotel was written by someone who didnt actually stay at the hotel
Great place, beautiful gardens, view from every room is superb facing the famous Dragoon Mountains. They actually serve hot breakfast to order--great and substantial. Seems like they recently renovated the entire hotel.
First the good: 1. View is awesome, really neat 2. Nice roomy well cooled rooms 3. Has High Speed internet but was going in and out during my stay, I used my Verizon 4. Staff is extremely helpful. The first room we had was smoked in and they quickly got us another. Kudos to the night staff. 5. Within easy walking distance, well for some excercise, from town. About a mile or so, Boothill though is just down the bend so to speak. The bad 1. They dont even have Orange Juice for you in the Lobby? Not only did I have to pay quite a bit for it the restaurant attached to the hotel only had a gallon so it was probably gone soon, I got up early. So it is a pretty nice motel, not cheap, that has no breakfast or juice at all in the morning. The restaurant is expensive. If you ate at the BW restaurant with a family of four then you would be paying at least another $30. That makes the hotel not a good deal at all. I would recommend this Hotel but just remember to bring all your breakfast food supplies, they do have a nice small refrigerator, or you will end up spending much more than you planned.
My teenage son and I traveled around New Mexico and Arizona while my daughter visited a friend in Albuquerque. One of our travel highlights was Tombstone. The motel staff was friendly and helpful offering tips and local color. Although a little small, the room was extremely clean, kept that way during our stay, and well appointed. The view from the room window and door of the 'garden' and the Dragoon Mts, especially at sunrise, was beautiful. I plan on returning to Tombstone and will definitely stay here again. Although it is outside town on a hill, you can be in town within minutes and the in town accomodations did not seem as nice.
This hotel had all sorts of lovely surprises! The view was spectacular and it's distance from Tombstone is ideal! The staff really seemed to care about us and the accomodations lived up to normal expectations. I will go out of my way to stay here again!
I was a little scared to stay at this resort (it looked old). I was nicely surprised upon checking in. The room has a western decor (the kids loved it) nice and clean. Beautiful view of the Dragoon Mts. Nice Pool. Great Breakfast. I do recommend!!
