The rooms are completely new - it's a refurbished old farm, with excellent and modern facilities.
Friendly and kind staff. Very nice rooms. Lovely location in the country.
the lovely way people take care of the place. The owner are friendly and the place is exactly what you expect from a countryside B&B.
Magnus, the owner, was very attentive and did all he could to make our stay perfect. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very well appointed. Breakfast was excellent with homemade preserves and fruit juices. He was also helpful in suggesting places to visit locally that were not necessarily on the tourist trail but were well worth seeing. very lovely place
Homely, interesting and had a slightly bohemian feel about it. Lack of secure parking.
we were given a free extra breakfast, coming from the ferry at 07.00 hrs
Historic interest of building & setting - with sympathetic interior decor & furnishing. Location excellent in heart of the medieval town. Quiet. Enchanting courtyard view. Friendly, conversational manager. Excellent breakfast choices. Would have appreciated facilities for making hot drinks, and a plug in the en-suite basin
The hotel was easy to find and central. Free parking was available in a nearby private car park with separate spaces for the hotel. The Sekelgarden hotel was a beautiful old building with plenty of character and was next door to the old Brewery, now a restaurant, with very good food.
Family atmosphere, low-key and quiet, helpful owner and staff, centrally located, close to ferry, train and bus terminals, good breakfast
We were so excited to stay in this historic hotel, however when we arrived, our reservation through Booking.com did not go through and the hotel was fully booked. They were going to put us up in the Continental hotel, but the other guest who had the last room opted to stay in the Continental instead. The room was an adorable suite and very clean and comfortable. Once the room situation was worked out, we couldn't be happier with our stay here. There is even a pub next door with great ambiance and the town of Ystad is beautiful to walk around at night!
The hotel is situated in a couple of historic buildings connected by a beautifully tranquil courtyard. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated. Breakfast (a great variety on offer) was served in a lovely suite of rooms. Ystad is a very pleasant town with a good selection of places to eat and shop. It also served as a great base for exploring the Skane region. The Tourist Office has some good material including a great booklet about the various Wallander TV series and the locations used. We'd recommend an evening walk along the shores of the Baltic - very tranquil! Instead of a proper double bed we had two single beds pushed together, with single duvets. From our subsequent experience elsewhere this is typical in Scandinavia but I felt it underminedthe hotel's reputation as a romantic hotspot!!
Large room with upgraded bath. Convenient location in town. Quiet room. Very substandard buffet breakfast compared with other hotels we have stayed at in Scandinavia.
Superb location and charming 'olde worlde' hotel with rooms of character. Very comfortable and the height of convenience is a good 'brewery' next door the Bryggeriet which serves excellent food and beer brewed on the premises.
Great atmosphere in an old and very tastefully preserved historic city building. .
