10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unbelievable location in Jambiani, right on the beach, the high tide literally reaches the hotel entrance gate. Fantastic infinity pool. Great range of seafood every night. Tropical paradise
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolute paradise. I have never experienced a hotel so beautiful. It so set in the most amazing location with beautiful sunrise. Quiet peaceful and tranquil. Juma the manager is expectional And all staff very friendly and helpful. Felt like you had the place to yourself sometimes. Will definitely be back! Manager spoke to us the night before we left which was very personable and made us feel welcomed. Make sure you take a walk around jambiani itself and meet the locals. So friendly!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!! The rooms are clean and confortable, the setting, just right by the sea, gives a sense of relaxation and calm, just what we need for a holiday. The food is amazing and the staff are brilliant!! Safe inside the resort (doesn't mean that outside is not!) we used to leave our door open while there and didn't have any issues at all. I highly recommend this place, it is heaven on earth!!
Cons: Not staying longer!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is really amazing, really beautiful beach and set-up
Cons: The staff of the hotel should be receiving a training on customer service and the restaurant isn't really tasty
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The manager is amazing. He is everywhere and went extra mile to make your stay most comfortable. They have a great attention to little details, that's what makes the place so special. Can see the owners put their hearts into it. Great value for money
Cons: We didn't like the food but it's personal taste, and there are many restaurants around, so should not be an issue
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The see view, especially at sunrise and night, is breath-taking. The style is nature-inspired, very well decorated and organised. The environment is super comfortable and simply beautiful. The cherry on the cake is the bathroom of the bungalow, which is basically an open-roof garden still keeping high privacy and comfort. Juma and his team did a great job in keeping us happy and well-served. The owners were very gentle and friendly, gifting us with the best experience here in Zanzibar. I strongly suggest this place!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: From check in to check out the stay was amazing. The hotel's taxi provider, Abbas, made sure to make his rounds to see if there were tours i woul like to take but wasn't pushy. The beach was quiet and peaceful. It was an amazing place to unwind and enjoy the calm.
Cons: I'm really reaching here but it would be nice to have a few more options of local things to do. There is a cave not far from the resort but nothing in the room to tell you where it is or how to get there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the views, to the location, the staff and the food. Everything was nothing short of incredible.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Went to Zanzibar looking for the exotic island beach, water and relaxed experience and this was fully delivered at Belvedere and even exceeded expectations. The landscape is amazing, all rooms have sea views, perfect combination on the resort grounds of sand, palm trees, exotic plants, flowers and unique outdoor furniture and design without overdoing it on any, that just give you straight away that sunny beach paradise resort feeling. Food was great, spent a few days on the island before coming here so we tested several restaurants, but since we arrived at Belvedere we never felt any other culinary curiosity other than deciding what to choose next from their restaurant menu. Sea food, fish, pasta, pizza (recommend all but especially the smoked tuna special),breakfast, everything had a good variety of choices and the food always was fresh and cooked on the spot. Friendly and helpful staff, always smiling and willing to help. Really appreciated that whenever we wanted something there was someone a few steps away to ask, but they're not the "shadowing" your every move type, so we could enjoy everything and relax undisturbed. Also related on the subject, the resort is a smaller one, not overcrowded and very well thought out, so there's a perfect balance, "your neighbours" are always far enough if you want to be on your own undisturbed and still close enough if you want to socialize and start a conversation, deppending on preference. Rooms looked nice in the pictures but look even better in real life, comfortable and with all the necessary amenities such as safe, ceiling fan, a.c., mosquito net, etc. The owners were more than kind, stopping by and always making sure that all was perfect, also had a couple conversations with them, excellent conversations with excellent people! Thank you for an amazing experience!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. It was small, personal, beautiful and peaceful; an ideal couples destination. The room furnishings and general resort decor is all very well thought out and high quality. I felt completely relaxed for the duration of the four nights. The customer service - all elements - is excellent. Everything is made easy for you. Excellent value for money considering the quality experience that we had.
Cons: No fresh pineapple chunk in my pina colada! That’s the only quibble. A fantastic place.
Ujamaa Beach Resort Zanzibar - Makunduchi - Building

9.6 Excellent (81 reviews)
Overview Reviews

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. 9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Ujaama beach resort is truly a little paradise on earth. Small scale resort with very friendly staff. Developed and run in cooperation with the local community. Excellent place to unwind and enjoy the less "touristy" part of Zanzibar! Great pool for families with kids of all ages! Slight breeze in the evenings keeping mosquitoes away!
Cons: I can't think of anything negative about the resort itself. Beware of sea urchins in the ocean so water shoes are highly recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff, wonderful location, wonderful food and wonderful drinks!
Cons: It was perfect!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Mango juice forever :) and we liked the style of the resort. The nature all around is fantastic, it is a very quiet and peaceful place. Swimming pool is fun. Lots of sunbeds. It is a good place for children! Many toys and possibilities for families. The staff is helpful and kind. Hakuna Matata
Cons: The quality of the food is not standard. The same salad can have one day peas next day cabbage or whatever they had in the kitchen I suppose. The coffee is bad and it is a pity since the owner is Italian! :) Our bed was uncomfortable but we have heard from others that theirs was good. No reading light in the room which should be a must as there is no TV. But we do like the idea of not watching TV for 8 days! The wifi is a bit weak.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a great ngo from Italy that helps the local community. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. Great for families and couples. Lots of privacy and fun areas for the kids. Great buffet breakfast and lunch and dinner is always well made except it takes a little time as it's always freshly made. We did a local tour of the village and was really great to see real village life. There is a nice mix of continental and local food although I would like to see a bit more local dishes. The cleaning ladies do a great job everyday cleaning the rooms and the bar men and waiters are great and enjoy a bit of banter. The spa is also quite nice and I enjoyed the leg massage. There is a little shop that's sells a few curios that go towards the Ujamaa organisation.
Cons: There aren't a lot of other hotels or restaurants in the area so you would have to travel a little bit to see or eat at other locations. There are no bicycles for children. Food takes a little time to get made but not necessarily a bad thing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly atmosphere, attentive personnel, delicious breakfast, big pool and chill out area, nicely decorated rooms, eco friendliness, connection to the nature :)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The resort is very spacious, very quite and has a really great pool and a very nice Restaurant and Bar area - all very nicely decorated with furniture made out of old boats and lots of local fabrics. The bungalows are beautiful and very clean. Malaika and Roger take care of all your needs. The breakfast is very nice, the Restaurant offers a big selection of food with very good quality. Not to forget: the profit all goes to different charity projects sponsored by the NGO owning the Resort
Cons: The WiFi is not always working and quite slow - but actually I should consider this as a plus :-)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very relaxing place, quiet, clean, friendly staff, almost private beach as there aren't many people and properties in the neighbourhood. Great food at the restaurant. Comfy beds and thoughtful design. We enjoyed our stay with every day even more.
Cons: The bungalows could have had larger windows and without the bars on them. You can only swim in the sea from 4pm-7pm when the tide is high.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with excellent and friendly staff. Does not feel commercial, but has a laid back atmosphere. Particularly enjoyed the fact that proceeds also support the local community.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good selection of cold beers
Cons: The fish offered in the restaurant was not great

9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a small establishment right on the beach. Very friendly and relaxed with nice communal areas. Room was fairly basic but very functional. Bed was a bit hard. Because Jambiani is tidal it goes from no beach at high tide to the water being right out. Reef shoes are useful when walking at low tide. Swimming is best just before high tide.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed two nights at Garden Beach Bungalows and after visiting several places across the island we found the level of service and hospitality above and beyond any place of similar standard across the island. The staff are very friendly, accommodating to any of your needs, breakfast was delicious, the interiors well considered and the location perfectly placed right on the beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and helpful people there, beautiful view directly from the accommodation. Felt the whole time like we are surrounded by friends, not by staff. Also, activities can be arranged from the hotel easily.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this place!!! We had initially booked a big family room, but then decided to change our reservation to two doubles. We were given two beautiful bungalows. This place has only seven rooms/bungalows, which allows for a truly unique experience. There is a lot of privacy, and much calm. We often felt we were the only guests in the property, and at the beach! The rooms are very clean, and their breakfast is very good! Their staff is wonderful: very professional, efficient, and kind! Ulvi (one of the co-owners) organized all of our tours at very reasonable prices. We strongly recommend the dhow tour, which was a sort of safari in the ocean. It takes you to explore the coral reef. It was very well done, not crowded at all, and not touristy. The beach in front of the hotel is stunning! This is not one of those super crowded resorts, but a truly calm, beautiful place that allows for a really dreamy vacation. Thank you to all who made our stay FABULOUS!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quietness - 10/10 The loudest sound at the property is the ocean waves. Beach - 15/10 Best beach I've ever been to. White soft sand with amazingly blue waters
Cons: Alcohol is allowed but not sold on the property (there are bars 3minutes away) It would be nice to have a glass of wine readily available :)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful spot directly on the beach! Lovely lawn chairs, swinging beds, and restaurant all with a perfect view of the white sands and turquoise water. You can walk along the beach to other restaurants or pop up and explore the village of Jambiani. The owner is very friendly and helped organize a great fairly non-touristy dhow ride and snorkeling trip for us and was helpful with suggestions in the area.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is beautiful, the whole ground is beautiful. Cool beach-athmosphere. Very nice staff in the restaurant, delicious Breakfast. The Manager Ulvi is very nice and really cares about your wishes. One of the few places around, which really kept in contact with the beautiful surrounding nature (including bats, lizards, ants....)
Cons: It would be nice to get the room cleaned daily, not only on request.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the location close to the sea. I enjoyed having breakfast with a lovely sea view. The staff is super nice! They do everything that their guests enjoy their vacation! I would definitely recommend that place!
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing to dislike :)

Pros: I had a wonderful time at Driftwood. When I arrived Kerry was there to greet me with a fresh passion fruit smoothie and she showed me to my room which was lovely. It's a relatively small lodge so you easily get chatting to other guests and I met some wonderful people. Kerry and Brady were absolutely wonderful hosts - very welcoming, open and hospitable. They are always available if you have any questions and they really try to make your stay memorable. It was like being with very good friends. The food is great too and the staff are very friendly and polite. Staying at Driftwood was wonderful. I hope to go back next year.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: As soon as you arrive you know you have hit the jackpot. The owners Kerry and Brady are genuinely welcoming making you feel instantly relaxed and at home. We stayed 15 nights and could have stayed forever, The location is stunning being right next to the beach, the infinity pool is great for a cooling dip and the thatched lookout is a perfect place to watch passing dhows or have a passing drowse. Staff are super friendly, helpful and the bar is a great place to meet up with other guests or just find a quiet corner in the grounds and let the world go by. Trips are organised with ease, don't bother looking elsewhere you wont get a better deal. The restaurant is open all day but should you choose to take a walk along the beach there are many great bars and places to eat. Dont forget to take a walk through the village just behind the lodge, its very safe, welcoming and a nice community who are happy to engage with you. If you like small personal and relaxed hotels this is certainly one of the best and we are already looking at flights for next year.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The resort has a great chilled out vibe. All very relaxed. The room was huge with a separate dressing room, lovely bathroom and large shower. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a nice mix of cereal, hot food, baked goods. The service from the minute I arrived until I left was outstanding.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: EVERYTHING... not even the wifi and intermittent electricity fluctuations could negate the fact the The Loop Hotel is
Cons: N.A.D.A
7.5 Good
Pros: the location is perfect. the beach in front of the hotel was the best (in my opinion) in zanzibar. the pool area was stunning. the bed in the room was very comfortable.
Cons: the breakfast was below any expectation: no variety of products (just basic), we had to prepare the instant coffee on our own (at least they could have filter coffee!), the jars with nutela or jams were dirty, FULL of flies and bees, the fruit looked old, no refill of the products. we could not eat properly because of the flies. photos may prove it. there were no bottles of water in the room (only 1 free on the first day), but i understand that this is their policy. the housekeeping was careless, they never gave us bath products, so we had to ask for some, several times per day. if the hotel policy is not to offer shampoos, they should mention to bring our own. great thanks to the receptionist Monica, the only person who seemed to care.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I liked the service the management provided together with the stuff , they made us feel right at home
Cons: The food was great and well cooked .

Pros: The hotel is stunning, each corner is beautiful, especially the reception, the relax area, the rooms and the pool. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Very nice attention to detail. I enjoyed every minute of my stay here and i would recomend it to everyone.
Cons: The meals price at the restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: No words can describe how great our stay was. Booked one night initially, then extended for one more night despite the fact we had another place booked in Nungwi. In the end, after staying one night in Nungwi we ran away to Mwezi again - i guess, this should say it all! The hotel is built and managed up to high european standard, we stayed in two villas and both were stunning - 100% boutique with a nice touch of african style. I've stayed in many well known chain hotels around the world and Mwezi is definitely way above all of them. We stayed during low season and there were hardly any people there, absolutely fantastic tranquil and classy place to stay. Villas are spacious, modern and rural at the same time. Duplex sea view villa is mind blowing, with an upped level lounge zone! Staff was super hospitable too - when we arrived late for dinner, they called the chef especially to cook dinner for us even though he had already left! Jambiani is a beautiful place to stay by itself, however La Luna made this experience absolutely unforgettable. I wish there were more hotels like this around the world, for this price!! Boutique hotel - it's all in the name! it wont be your usual 5* hotel experience - it will be different and much better! Area is pretty quiet with no shops nearby, however there are endless white beaches and hardly any people. Great place to watch the sunrise too. When high tide, ocean looks absolutely mesmerising. Mwezi - I will come back! :)
Cons: Breakfast is quite basic but it seems it's like this everywhere in Zanzibar and staff go above and beyond to offer you the best they can. Beds are quite firm - takes time to get used to it... But they say it's good for your back though!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Incredible management. Incredible staff. Incredible charm to the hotel.
Cons: Loved everything, I am already planning my return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool was great, delicious breakfast and restaurant, awesome staff (in particular January and Francisco)
Cons: The room was a little bit too dark
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was exelent!!!
6.3 Good
Pros: The hotel was beautiful and very nicely decorated inside the african spirit.
Cons: -We booked with about 4 months in advance a bungalow with sea view and they put us in bungalow (nº7) in a corner of the hotel with no view other than trees, dark, and with the generator behind (it that made a lot of noise whenever it started at night). We complained and the manager unkind told us that they were full and they had no sea view bungalows (???). We did not realize because the nº1,2,4,5,6, and 9 have sea and pool view. My friends stayed in the nº1. We paid and booked one thing and was given another without any excuse or compensation. -The mattresses are very hard. -The staff is not professional, have many failures. -The beach in front has seaweed, not pretty and not good to swimming. We liked the Pajé and Kendwa beach.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great restaurant, lovely pool, great location, very friendly staff
Cons: The rooms are very dark colored, and while the lighting is very atmospheric, it does not help in finding your stuff in the room
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The place was cool and sandy, it was right in front of the beach and short walk to nearby hair braid and restaurants. Also about an hour walk to Paje beach which isn’t too bad. Cute little boutique shop and friendly staff.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved this place, sands everywhere, you live there like home with barefoot! The possibility to eat in different places a'd great swimming pool is a plus! The beach is also very nice with lagoons very close. People are nice but like everywhere in Zanzibar.
Cons: The food was good. Breakfast could be improved. The room door could also be better as pretty difficult to close and no curtains so obliged to completely close the room so nobody see us from outside.

Pros: Beautiful hotel with friendly staff and overall great environment. Having a pool was an added value for when the tide was low however did not take long to walk out to the water during low tide. Strongly recommend staying here for those who prefer a quieter hotel with more privacy.

Cons: Everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Great free breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Super chill vibe. Peaceful and relaxing lodge and surrounding area. Lovely clean swimming pool. Flexible restaurant timings and seating options. Great fries! Incredible sunrise!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is the perfect place to stay whilst in Zanzibar if you want to relax (although there are plenty of activities to do nearby if you want to relax and adventure!) Firstly, the staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond wherever they can. The breakfast is lovely and a great way to start the day. We had quite a few meals at the hotel too which were good. Jambiani is a quiet place and the village is very small, however there are a couple of very small shops selling food and drinks. The hotel has a good stock of drinks and food though so no need to find your own! The pool is perfect and the views are incredible. The sea outside the hotel is so warm and was calm throughout our stay, there was no strong current so it was a safe place to swim. It is very tidal though so the sea moves out a long way for a few hours twice every 24hrs. I snorklled just by swimming a little way out and saw some juvenile fish. You can go on trips snorkelling in the reef a little further out which is great. The hotel rooms were clean and comfy, with a nice breeze from the sea keeping them cool enough for a comfortable sleep. Fresh linen and towels for both the beach and the room were provided daily. We loved our stay here of 6 nights and would go back in a heart beat! This is definitely the nicest place in the area :) There is nothing better than waking up next to the sea!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: All the bungalows are on the pool side. And the sea is very close to it. The breakfast was very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was superfriendly, especially Desmond, Silver and Win, but all the others as well! The food was amazing! The pool is incredible! Very nice interior design! And we like the support and idea of thinking in an ecological way!
Cons: The prices for the food were quite expensive, but worth the money :) The transfer from the airport is too expensive, but worked very well!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool and just on front of a nice beach
Cons: The breakfast could be better.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, only 10 rooms, nice swimming pool, good breakfast
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location right on the beach. The rooms are clean and the food is great. The staff also helped us organize one of our trips at a reasonable price. We even took a "beachboy" on a boat trip to the reef though not too many things see underwater. Definitely need to try the wind kiting, they look very professional.
Cons: Nothing. We event took nights walks on the beach and every time we felt very safe, even if it was off season.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was great, the beach was almost at our doorstep. The staff was super friendly. The hotel area was decorated really nicely. Breakfast was good.
Cons: The mattres was a bit too Hard for our comfort. The bar/restaurant was a bit overpriced. And we saw a rat scurrying away under the roof. Could use a separation between the toilet and the bed.

Pros: The location and the staff
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location right at the pristine beach of Jambiani. The villa's are located in the middle of a local fisherman's village. Excellent breakfast and very good restaurant. Great villa with all required amenities and superb hygiene (daily cleaning and hotel service). The hotel managers are always on site to help with any question and deliver on their promises. There are also a number of very good restaurants nearby so you don't have to eat in the same place all the time. The villa's also accept credit card payment without adding a mark-up (in Tanzania it is not uncommon to get a 5% fee added for credit credit card charge). We had a great time with a family of 5 but this venue is suited for any group, couple or family. Recommended.
Cons: The villa's have 3 locations and our villa was based at the key location where the restaurant was based. So we did have some (limited) noise from the kitchen but nothing major.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: A lot of kids, no loungers

The owners are very friendly and accommodating, and the manager is attentive to her guest's needs. All the staff here is very kind and welcoming. We only stayed here for 2 nights, but I would have been happy to stay a week or more. Highly recommend!
Cons: Nothing! It was perfect.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast fresh every morning, staff very attentive.
Cons: Maybe a bar or restaurant on the roof terrace. Baked beans with breakfast. TV in room had no channels working so we were given a bunch of dvds, would have been good to have access to the news.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast, proximity of restaurant to villa, swimming pool, villa views over ocean, free bikes and snorkels
Cons: Would have loved more activities (kayaking, paddle boarding)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was superb. Nice and quiet place. Good for families. Villas are amazing. Very well maintained. The manager Maciek was always helpful and guided us with all kind of information on the property and around the island. The staff were amazing and always helpful. Food at the Shira Restaurant was good. And if you decide to stay, ask the chef for local Octopus food with coconut milk. It is not in the menu, but he will prepare it for you. Would definitely stay there again.
Cons: Only week WIFI reception in the villas. Other than that nothing to dislike about this place. Also Mosquitos. But this is a common problem on the island.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is what a holiday villa should be, right on the beach, big space for a family, kitchen facility for convenience, great restaurant for dinner, small excellent breakfast, friendly staff, daily cleaning and chilled atmosphere, nice pool, free bikes... loved our stay. So relaxing...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: While I hope people continue to ignore the remote beauty of Jambiani, the villas are a hidden treasure for those seeking secluded comfort. The staff should be paid even more as they offered exemplary service always offering a power adaptor or a Spanish omelette or recommendations for fishing. The chef even friend the fish I caught earlier in the day. The suites are quite spacious and comfortable. The pool the perfect way to end a day. I absolutely will stay here every year when I’m Zanzibar.
Cons: Even though I can’t think of anything I dislike, travelers should be aware Jambiani is a quiet, secluded fishing village and a solid 60-75 minutes from the airport. Taxi will cost $60-75 but the location and serenrity is so worth it.
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Bahari Pizza Restaurant and Bungalows in Jambiani, you'll be on the beach, a 1-minute drive from Jambiani Beach and 6 minutes from Paje Beach. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, great location. They cared for gluten-free and lactose free diet excellently, for both the restaurant menu and breakfast menu. Very attentive and caring staff!
Cons: Shower had lack of water and it was barely hot. However, it was sufficient enough to have a shower after a beach day. It is also quite a common problem throughout the country.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. I would like to stress that Stefania and all staffs are so friendly and kind. They help us all we needed The bugallows are set in an idilic place, the facilities are so cute and you can spend a relaxing time an eat excellent food
Cons: Nothing I will came back to it if I visit Zanzibar again
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and made me feel at home. The restaurant also had a nice view and the included breakfast was quite good in terms of variety of food provided, quantity, and flavor.
Cons: The hot water only occasionally worked. Also, a hammock would be cool but that's more a suggestion than a criticism.

Pros: We stayed for 3 nights in Pili Pili House and had a really relaxing time. The room was nicely decorated, especially the bathroom, and was very clean and comfortable. The location is fantastic and the sea comes right up to the front of the hotel at high tide. I was impressed with the food (especially the breakfast) although the wait times were sometimes slow. Friendly staff too. Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to Zanzibar.

Pros: We stayed 3 nights in Blue Moon Resort and stayed in the suite with private pool. The accommodation is very nice and clean, friendly staff, nice quiet beach and beautiful pool. I recommend staying in the suite with private pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you’re looking for a beautiful place to chill out with top service and privacy I definitely recommend this hotel.
Cons: The nearest beach is rocky and nothing to do outside the resort
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We can really recommend this hotel if you like peace and relax. The staff is always friendly and tries to make you all wishes come true. As shown in the description the hotel lies some kind in the middle of nowhere, but we can not unterstand people who give negative ratings for that. Please just don't go there if you like party. The whole area is in good shape. The staff is cleaning all the time =) The beach and pool are just perfect to enjoy your holiday.
Cons: Sometimes the staff was a little bit invasive for us, but this is just our individual opinion. Others would call it a good service =). The food is somewhat expensive. Excursions too, and they could be better explained.

Featured amenities include multilingual staff, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was very private, clean and cozy. Can play your own music.
Cons: Staff could be more trained; there is no bathroom amenities as shampoo, cotton pads, etc.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, beautifully decorated, really pretty garden, loved the bed ( slept like a baby )... breakfast was nice, can't comment on food as we never ate there ( found the food to be a bit pricey compared to local restaurants ). Staff was really nice and helpful, overall we had a wonderful stay.
Cons: Toiletries in the bathroom could be better
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best part of our stay was really the attentive staff. They could help with any request and made the property feel like a home or private villa rather than a hotel. I would especially like to thank Mohammed and Sayid who were fantastic at what they did. During our stay it was my girlfriend's birthday - for which they helped organise a dolphin trip at late notice the day before. As well as a birthday cake at no extra charge for that night. Jambiani beach is a great part of Zanzibar, it is enjoyed by both locals and tourists, and the town is safe and interesting to walk through. We had come from Bwejuu days before where the beach has a lot of litter and the only locals were trying to sell you stuff.
Cons: The only critique is the excursions are a little pricey so can get cheaper through booking elsewhere. As well as the 5% charge for card payments can be quite larger if you are paying for the entire stay there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: amazing location and amazing staff. the villa is furnished with taste, it's intimate and charming, the opposite of a large resort, but you still have intimacy . the pool is small but beautiful and delighting, as well as the part of the beach where the villa is located. the village is quiet don't expect any kind of action at night, which suited us as a family. but you can reach Paje within 10mn by taxi for few dollars if you need more restaurants and probably parties at night i presume. the breakfast is good, we ddidn't eat at the restaurants as we wanted to discover the local food around the village. i really have to mention the villa is ideal for couples with baby, the staff was so kind to the baby we extended our stay, the villa itself allows you to enjoy the space of a large villa with the facilities of a charm hotel. would definitely go back if i had the opportunity.
Cons: nothing at all it was superb and exceeded our expectations
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are fantastic (except number 6). The swimming pool and the dinning/chilling areas are just awesome.
Cons: The beach in front of the hotel was not that great. Full of seaweed and water not as transparent as in other parts of the island (but it could also be because of the weather).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is a villa with only 6 rooms and is perfect for people who are looking for a beautiful summer villa to relax and recharge their batteries. It is also a short walk from other hotels that have more facilities if you want to have a drink surrounded by more people etc (the owner of the villa also has another 2 bigger hotels nearby - so it was convenient not having to carry money. We were charging everything to our room). I can’t possibly compliment enough the food and the staff. The staff are genuinely polite, helpful and calm people who even went the extra mile when needed. The whole experience of our stay was great and exactly what we were looking for after a tough year. As for the food, everything we ate was beyond tasty. We would recommend this villa to everyone and we would certainly be looking to visit again. Thank you to the entire team! You all contributed to how relaxed we feel now. See you soon.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We liked the staff the most. They made our stay super memorable.
Cons: The AC could have been better from the beginning but it was fixed once we asked them to.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Felt like coming home after a long day out. Extremely peaceful and private like a small family Gorgeous pool and outdoor space You get to see high and low tide on beach Clean very often Easy access to beach Staff is very kind and helpful
Cons: A little too isolated and quiet for people not on their honeymoon Beach wasn’t the most beautiful spot and not really that swimmable because of all the seaweed Unlike a hotel there isn’t someone available 24/7 The doors to the rooms are very hard to lock and unlock Not such a big menu for ordering
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Uzuri Villa was absolutely beautiful. The location, the facilities, the food and the staff. We loved everything about it.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and stylish hotel with nice team and quiet environment.
Cons: Small check out problem .. difficult to pay )))

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything from the staff to the location, the food and the large range of activities proposed.
Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, right on sea front. Many rooms have sea views, gardens well tended. Lots of seating, loungers etc for relaxing. Good choice of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Staff were very helpful, and helped arranged activities. They allowed a late booking out on one of our rooms because we had a late flight home which meant we were able to make the most of our last day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff very friendly, and the facilities were amazing as expected. The food and bar was so good we wished we could stay longer for the food!
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast with a view and big bungalows
Cons: The shower was not really warm
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful resort, situated perfectly in the middle of Jambiani beach. The staff is helpful, welcoming, and friendly. The rooms are perfectly suited to the beach vibe of the resort, while keeping up a high standard of comfort and cleanliness. I loved the fact that there was a private beach so that you weren't hassled by vendors and griftors. The food and drinks were excellent, and cheap by Canadian standards and the in house amenities were also excellent; including a local tour provider and a local masseuse. If Zanzibar were easier to get to from Canada I would skip Mexico and Cuba and come to Blue Oyster regularly for my vacations.
Cons: I'm fully in support of the whole eco-lodge thing, trying to reduce waste and resource use, but honestly an air conditioning unit in the room would have been a total game changer. Also some services (such as massage) are cash only and the nearest ATM is in another town. It would have been helpful to know this in advance so I could have taken more cash out beforehand.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fredrick -the staff member was exceptional. Breakfast in the style of Swedish table. Great set up view.
Cons: The room seems to be bit small but good for couple.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I’ve been in jambiani for a couple of days before I check-in here. I stopped by the place for a drink and fell in love so hard I cut my stay at the other place shorter to come and stay here my last couple of days. Excellent service, clean rooms, prime location and decently priced F&B. You don’t need more in jambiani.
Cons: That I had to leave it.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Most friendly staff and easy access to the beach! The dinner menu was excellent and the balcony rooms are stunning!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: What else to say - brilliant location, right on the beachfront, very nice and spacious room and super nice staff, this is what you imagine under a beach holiday with palm trees and white sands. Plus as a bonus the hotel has an excellent restaurant and its own beach bar.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was fantastic, extremely friendly and very helpful. The food is amazing. I also like the initiatives to reduce plastic and to collect the plastic at the beach. It is shocking to see how much plastic is washed up on the beach every day. The ECO-Tour was a unique experience and highly recommendable.
Cons: I experienced the distance to the beach slightly annoying. The beach is very close by and within less a minute you are there but the area of the beach bar and the restaurants/rooms feel a bit seperate. It would be nice to have for example breakfast and dinner also with a sea view. It would be nice to have the beach bar open also in the evening and possibilities to eat there for dinner.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The lagoon lodge right on the Beach was perfect! The whole colourful concept is beautiful. Such a strong vision with great eye for detail. Food was very good! Very friendly owners and staff.
Cons: Prices are a bit high. My flipflops were our on our fenced ‘garden’ there was security but my flipflops (leather ones) still got stolen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very helpful, friendly and the best asset to Your hotel. The quality of the food was above my expectations. The owners were very friendly and helpful just as their staff.
Cons: The windows did not have screens although there were screens on the bed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing boutique hotel located just two minutes walking from the beach. The staff is absolutely perfect, the service they offer can be compared to a five stars hotel. The beach bar, considered as an extension of the hotel, is something special: delicious food and relaxed atmosphere. H
Cons: The mattress was not so comfy, but it was a huge king size!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room its big and has private garden Amazing Local homemade cuisine from fresh food Staff is very friendly and helpful Great bar lodge by the beach Whole property is Very clean Safe place Perfect for relaxing holiday Ambiance of the place
Cons: If you get room facing street it can be very noisy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing food, lovely staff, very clean rooms, great beach bar A beautiful place to relax.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Bed was super comfortable . Cleanliness of the room and the whole facilities . Kindness of the staff , especially Um Kalthoum. Amazing juices at the beach bar . The view of the room is stunning
Cons: Bottles of water in the room on the 1st would be highly appreciated. The lagoon room which is supposed to accommodate 3 persons is small for 3 adults : no closet or space to hang you clothes so we used the 2nd bed to put our things on it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were all incredibly nice and helpful! Drinks (fresh juices and cocktails, etc were excellent. Food was great. Front desk staff went out of their way to assist us with missing luggage. Wonderful experience overall and we hope to return!
Cons: We didn't drink the coffee but that's because my husband doesn't like instant coffee (which is ironic because he drinks instant Starbucks packs). LOL!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast,fresh juices,relaxing ambiance,smart decoration,clean and comfortable room,very friendly staff...I strongly recommend :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you stay in Jambiani, pick and stay in this hotel, spacious room with a garden, comfortable and large bed (2 adults and 2 kids - 6y and 3y old having 1 king bed where we could sleep all together and another 2 beds, in front garden with a hammock creating another privacy, close to the beach - 40-50metres (this is actually an advantage - no strong wind and crowds as direct beach resorts), you will be treated here like at home from the staff, there is also a great restaurant with delicious meals and fresh fruit coctails, book the table in advance, take a bit more time, but definitely worth it, go for tuna bruschetta, ceviche or grilled octopus, these are simple the best I have ever eaten. Kids had no issue to eat fish fingers (actually made from fresh fish), spaghetti, chicken bites and others. Swimming pool looks small, but was actually big enough. We will definitely come again. Thank you once again for lovely and amazing time we had with you.

Cons: Breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at Petra's wonderful paradise and we will definitely recommend it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Petra was a really great host and made us feel very welcome. She was very accommodating of my young daughter. The beach is a one minute walk from the hotel and the view was amazing!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The property was really close to the beach, and in the village the owner was very friendly and helpful and took us to Stone Town and Paje and was keen to recommend places so we got the most out of our trip. It was kept clean and tidy, the lady that did the cleaning was very friendly. Breakfast was really good it consisted of a good selection of fruit, toast and local products and eggs. All in all I enjoyed my stay!
Cons: You need to take a torch because the village has no electricity and because of the location of the property in the village it’s helpful to have one with you and to help you find your way back. That’s the only thing I could recommend for anyone wanting to visit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really appreciated Petra's hospitality during our stay. She gave us a lot of advice about activities in Jambiani. Also, for a small price she drove us to different places we wanted to visit. We enjoyed the breakfast, including fresh fruits and scrambled eggs! The place is 50 meters from the beach which made it more quiet and private!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A great place to stay , very very close to the beach and some great local restaurants. Petra is very friendly and helpful . We booked 2 nights and stayed 4
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The host was amazing, very helpful and nice. The room was very close to the beach, less than 30 meters and the beach is WOW.
Cons: The room was not very private (room number 2) as anyone going to the other room had to pass by our balcony, also the shades didn't do a good job in making the room dark enough. Once the sun is out the room was lit.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice place hidden between other houses. Very quiet and cozy. Definitely best balcony with the sea view.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: When we were there Petra was not there so we met Hadji. Hadji was a great host! He was very friendly and helpful with giving information about Jambiani and the area. Breakfast was very nice. In the evening there is a security guy so we felt safe in the villa. The location was very good only 50 meter from the beach.
Cons: The bed was not the most comfortable bed and beddings can be cleaner. Other than that we had a nice stay.

Pros: EVERYTHING. I love everything. - the hotel is absolutely magnificent. the decoration is very stylish and elegant but respecting the local identity and wonders. Everything put together with great taste. - the staff is extremely nice but also very efficient. Discreet but always available for anything we needed - the management was also very nice and approachable. Even though they were very busy with some exciting upcoming project, they always took the time to greet us with a smile - the beach: couldn't be closer: you have it at your feet when getting out of the room! - the food options: absolutely delightful. Very fresh and complete breakfast, great options for lunch and dinner and for very affordable prices. From all the hotels we've seen on the same beach, the Mamamapambo is by far the best as it does not look invasive on the beach nor in the village and it respects the local natural style. The perfect size to remain stylish and intimate, modern enough but respecting the local authenticity, great value for money... I think it's fair to say it's the best hotel I've been in

7.5 Good
Pros: The room was quite big and the desgn is lovely. Francis, the manager was the one that made this stay for us enjoyable! He was very professional and friendly!
Cons: Well, the main problem is you don't feel welcome in this place. Starting with plastic laminated cards in your room with tens of DO NOT do this and that, don't take the key with you when you go out of the property (why??) and ending up with very strict choice for breakfast. It is common in Zanzibar to pay for something special extra, but we have stayed in 5 other resorts on the island and never came across such a limited option for free. The staff is instructed to give away only two slices of toasts or (not and) only two very small crepes. And, besides, no real coffee, just instant coffee. All other types of coffee are for $$$$ price. The overall feeling is: no money, no honey! Also, many other hotels in this price range have a pool, here you don't have one. And the sunbeds don't have a direct view on the beach, because there is a fence in front of them. Some people get disturbed by the locals that try to sell stuff, well guess what, the locals are super nice and they don't bother you if you say you are not interested. They also don't go near you when you are on asunbed, unless you want to talk to them, so if that is why the fence is there... too bad. In conclusion, it is not a bad hotel, but, for this price, there are plenty of places in Zanzibar where you will feel more welcome!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed in room #5 at the end of July. Room was big enough for all our things - we had lots coming back from Kilimanjaro summit - clean and funky. You have private terrace which was excellent! Staff so helpful and polite, always with a smile answering questions. The area was so peaceful, you just could relax all day. We felt very safe during our stay and definitely will come back. Thank you for superb experience!
Cons: There is nothing what we didn’t like. Maybe a small suggestion towards prices in the bar and restaurant. If the prices would be a bit lower, we would definitely dine more often.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The food in the hotel was very good, but inconsistent. If you like one dish, make sure you remember the ingredients you liked, cause next time they might serve you something else. Seafood salad for example comes with tomatoes, or with bell pepper, or with lettuce. It might have tuna, or some other fish, it may or may not have octopus, calamari, etc... Depends on your luck, and the mood of the Chef. Generally food is better than everywhere else in that neighborhood, so just deal with the inconsistency. Room was always clean, - housekeeping did a good job. We had our own terrace upstairs, and food could be served there as well, - that's very convenient. The view of course is outstanding. But before you travel, make sure to check the tides timings. You might end up spending the entire day in the hotel. Staff was very friendly and polite.
Cons: The room was very dark (especially the bathroom), due to lack of lighting. Power outages almost every day (not for long, but annoying, especially if it's already dark outside). During power outages, - no light, no internet, no water! Eggs were impossible to eat for breakfast (the smell!). Construction next door, - they keep working / talking / drilling till 11 pm or later. However once I have informed the hotel personnel on one occasion, they have stopped the late work immediately, and offered their apologies the next morning. During the day, though, the works are still on. So you won't enjoy the silence of the nature, and the sound of the ocean, - it's drilling and hammering mostly. Sunbeds are separated from the public beach, however the second you decide to sunbathe you'll be surrounded by local people trying to talk to you and to sell you souvenirs. The hotel staff seems to know the problem, but choose to not get involved. So no privacy, unless you lock yourself up on the hotel terrace (but no sun there...). Upon arrival they inform you to order food 1-2 hrs in advance. No kidding! For real they take very long to make even a salad. So by the end of the vacation, we really had to "forecast" when we are going to be hungry. Upon check-out the bill settlement process took ages, as they had weak internet connection (WiFi indeed is very poor there, - no watching series online for sure). Be aware that if you want to pay by card, they charge you 5% commission, and you have to enter all your credit card details into some online payment website from their computer. That was quite an uncomfortable experience.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property is set in a quiet beach nice for morning or evening walks. The hotel is a mix of tropical and eclectic African decor, homey and welcoming - my partner and I prefer this over the chain hotels. The staff was amazing! The owners are very accommodating and would always make sure we were comfortable. Everyone made us feel welcome, safe and home.
Cons: Unfortunately, we came at a time when there was a construction beside the property. Hence, there was unwanted noise during mid-day.

Pros: A small, family run B&B place with buildings in a typical local appereance. The breakfast was excellent: plenty of fresh tropical fruits, selection of breads and eggs, good coffee, juice and tea. Pleasant and nicely furnished rooms. A nice tropical garden with shadow and sunny places, directly at the beach. The site is quiet and pleasant, no rush, animation or party. If you want to relax, that´s the place.
Cons: There was not a really a "non-like" topic. Looking at some details, the mattresses were a bit worn and sag in the middle, at least in our rooms. During the high Tide the beach disappears for some hours. Very strong winds here in the south of the Island are good for Kite Surfers, but for us with the Kids it was somehow uncomfortable. Taking in consideration the heat, it could also be a plus, depending on your expectations.
7.0 Good
Cons: AC did not work for two days, no discount for that
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely nice and helpful staff. Privacy and small resort with pool and not many people there.
Cons: There was no wifi in rooms, but it doesnt matter for me...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kobe house is an amazing and relaxing location with wonderful view right on the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful organising tours for us. We liked also the swahili dinner, was really special and pleasurable to know the local food. Very clean room and rich breakfasts. We really enjoyed our time there. We'll come back again for sure. Thank you Kobe all of you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff, lovely gardens and pool. The most stunning beach at the end of the garden. Perfect
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Lovely hotel in a great location. The beach is right at your feet when walking out of the garden. The room was nice with a big bed with mosquito nets and a clean bathroom. Small pool and lots of palmtrees and shadow beds in the garden. Good food in the restaurant. Caring staff.
Cons: Very bad wifi, couldn’t read my e-mails, call, send pictures, use facebook or instagram. No hot water in the shower. The cleaning staff was talking the gossip of all town loudly right next to my window at 7 am... Thus waking me up, with breakfast only at 8 am. Bad and loud music through the hotel, with multiple times the same song on repeat for an hour... Got sick for a whole day after my first dinner (after 1 month of local Tanzanian food). They offer tours all over Zanzibar, however the prices were high, specially for a solo traveller.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: PERFECT! Loved everything about Kobe House! The location is simply beautiful, the grounds are taken care of but still wild-- not perfectly manicured into losing all character. Plants, trees, sand. Lovely little pool, if it was summer we would have used it daily, for sure. Perfect stretch of beach. We found it so interesting to walk forever when the tide was out, so it wasn't a complaint for us. Locals were lovely. Suzanne the receptionist was THE BEST! So helpful for everything, and just nice to talk to. Room was quite comfortable and still had that Zanzibari character. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Location was great, especially if you have a bike to explore both directions. If back in Zanzibar we will absolutely stay here again!!
Cons: one suggestion - Lunch and dinner could include more vegetarian options.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly. The garden is perfect for relaxing, there are so many couches and seats you can choose from. Also with direct access to the beach. The bartender is making outstanding cocktails. Great value for your money.
Cons: While staying in the garden there were taxi drivers approaching us and offering us their services. The rooms don't have A/C so the room only gets colder later during the night. The bathroom is quite small and you can only wash your hands on the other side of the room.

Pros: Very nice owners - very helpful. Beautiful venue.

Pros: Everything was perfect and the staff was excellent. Alex was indeed a good host.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From a beautiful arrival with petals on the bed , comfort of incredible pillows with the sound of the ocean that we could admire from the terrace or just by walking outside for sunrises to the delicious food provided for dinner and breakfast, my stay was absolutely amazing. Alex and Mike are two lovely hosts and made the experience of the incredible blue waters even more wonderful than expected. Thanks for everything.
Cons: Everything was perfect. The only thing I hated is that I had to leave.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent the staff very friendly and welcoming. if you are looking for sanitized luxury then look elsewhere. This is like staying in a family house with a great view and very chilled atmosphere . Their appears to be a good relationship with the village . The breakfast is great sitting in the balcony looking at the sea. Their restaurant 5 min walks is very friendly good value and does great spiced rice.
Cons: Nothing the only criticism its its unclear what the process is for getting drinks and food during the day but there are close restaurants.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Alex and Mike and all the personnel were incredibly friendly and helpful. Special thanks to them and also to the owners, Nasrin and Erwin for making our stay so pleasant. Melik also has a restaurant now! Not at the hotel itself, but nearby and the food is excellent. (The cook, KELVIN, is a gem!!) The food is afford able and plentiful. The restaurant is called Mwendawima Café. Definitely worth a visit.
Cons: Our first room was very small, (although it had a lovely seaview) but we changed to a larger room without any problems.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place on a beautiful beach. Very friendly staff, especially Alex! We had wonderful 8 days .
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff was amazing. The owner a swiss man was extremely kind, talkative and had great advices. His wife was a good cooker and also very nice and the local staff working for him did all their best in order to help us to get the best cost benefit diving experience in Zanzibar, plus support with other transport means and tours. They were also very open to last change minutes (we decided to get two rooms instead of just one) and prepared earlier breakfast (which by the way were delicious!) for us in order to let us get the most we could in Zanzibar and besides many other place they accepeted payment in euros! This couple really knows how to deal with customers.
Cons: There was a construction just besides the property and many dust get into the rooms everyday and even if we had left the Keys no one cleaned or tied the room in any of the days. When we arrived the bathroom was already a bit dirty. The staff was a bit overhelmed to calculate the rate of Exchange, maybe it would be good to provide more training for them (but please take it as a good advice in order for your place to be the best!). Jambiani is a bit far from the main attractions but it worths the visit, specially if you are a kite surfer ;)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The personal warmth, humour, hospitality and flexibilty from the owners of and staff at Melik's made our stay very special. Our children (3 and 5) could play in the sand directly outside our room and on the beach they made new friends with local children. The athmosphere at Melik's and on the beach itself is relaxed and at the same time vibrant. One can also find fantastic local food in small restaurants close to the Melik's. We left with a lot of wonderful memories from genuine experiencies and we would really like to come back some day!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were wonderful!! My rental car ended up with a flat tire, and Alex and Mike helped get it fixed quickly. The breakfast was fantastic, and you couldn’t ask for a better location. Room was clean with a great view of the beach. There was also a private (and shaded) outdoor seating area attached to my room, which I loved.
Cons: My only recommendation is to provide some oscillating floor fans for the rooms. The ceiling fan didn’t put out much of a breeze. This probably isn’t an issue for most people, but since I come from a very cold environment, Zanzibar felt really, really hot!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Melik’s Villa run by Alex such an incredible, funny, helpful person. He is always available and ready to assist you in anything you might ask for. The rooms are clean and tidy, taking care by a local lady who’s same friendly and smiley. I am definitely going to miss Melik’s place and an amazing team in there. The driver Abdula will meet you at the airport and will give a big smile towards to you, amazing people, lovely and kind. We didn’t even try any other restaurants except Melik’s the lovely chief Mike along with Alex will cook for you a delicious local food. Thank you so much. Keep it up guys.
Cons: The Beach Boys are so annoying people; at first they friendly and offering the trips variety but once they get rejected they getting aggressive and rude. At the begging better do not deal and do not ask any information about trips; more safe to get back to the villa or hotel you are staying in for sure. The beach guy who’s name Pando smiley and friendly at first but so aggressive and annoying after rejection, keep in mind guys.

Pros: - Location directly at a calm spot of the beach - nice, helpful staff
Cons: - everything was fine

Pros: Everything! Where to start from? Perhaps the staff:Mona, the supervisor, Juma, the waiter, the two Abdullah’s and Dawoodi the chef are the five names I know but there were four others who were doing their magic in the background. It was an amazing property with a great pool and an unbelievably serene location with a view to die for. A perfect place for having a lazy, quiet and peaceful holiday in the most serene of the surroundings and with the most helpful staff.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fantastic. The fruit was fresh and delicious. The views were beautiful. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The bartender was always gracious and greeted us with a big smile. Her cocktails were delicious.
Cons: The shower did not always drain very quickly.
6.3 Good
Pros: The villa was very nice and being open to the swimming pool was also great.
Cons: There were few times that the electricity was gone and they did not immediately turn on the generator. We had to go and ask them to turn it on especially with the heat. Also, all the air conditioners around the villa were turned off except inside our room which made the place extremely hot. Even though the doors were opened there was no breeze coming through and the temperature was around 90 Fahrenheit. Regarding the service it was slow. The wait staff were slow, especially during breakfast . You would have to ask a couple of times for your coffee and bread to be brought after you had you had already received your eggs which then would be cold. Also, they should ensure that what ever they have on their menu is available. We were told on three occasions that the food we had requested was not available after we had placed our order.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything almost was perfect
Cons: Water was salty, the menu was very strict and the swimming pool was rather small
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The first thing that strikes us upon arriving is the amazing view over the sea. The pool water had a nice temperature. The staff was very caring and helpful. On the day our trip ended we set out to visit stone town with a guide, and the hotel arranged for transfer to stone town, and the driver waited for about 3 hours with our bags in the car and then took us to the airport.
Cons: The jacuzzi was unavailable due to maintenance. There were no snacks (the place is very isolated). The beach is beautiful to look at but the foot of the sea is very rocky and there are lots of sea urchins and sea weed. The beach is pretty much useless, and I think that is why the hotel provides a transfer everyday to the Jambiani beach close by. Thankfully I’ve been to the beach in Matemwe for about six days before coming here. One day I had no hot water in the shower. The glass to cover the shower was busted so most of the bathroom floor would get damp.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was very private, at the time we were the only guests and so were really taken care of and my family loved the privacy to enjoy the pool and facilities. The views were gorgeous and I loved having a early morning swim in the ocean which was divine.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly, Baraka, Juma Fauster and Co. did a really good job! Thank you very much - asante sana!!! The villa is extraordinary: beautiful with many lovely details and with the Indian Ocean right in front of you - you just have to go a few steps and you find yourself in the warm sea.

Pros: It was perfect! Beautiful villa, very kind staff, beautiful beach, very fine foods! Perfect ❤ thanks Mona!

Pros: Excellent reception, supportive and patient staff and the ambience and view is breathtaking
Cons: None
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Villa Fleur de Lys is an excellent getaway for Zaznibar. Secluded location, it is perfect for allowing your mind to rest and enjoy your holidays. The hosts were absolutely fantastic and caring to our needs from the moment of arrival (at 3am no less) to our departure. The Villa is as advertised. We stayed in late April / early May, during the rainy season (but with only 1.5 rainy day...) and was to be closed following our departure for minor refurbishments.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The beach is amazing!
Cons: Poor Wifi connection, because the personal was streaming all day. It was low season, but we needed the connection for work.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were amazing! The owners were so friendly you could feel she really enjoyed talking with guests (rather than an obligation) and the local staff were at ease because the owners were (not like some places where staff seemed on edge because of over-strict owners). This meant an overall good vibe at the hotel. For the price I think the rooms where very good, clean and with everything you need. Would recommend for anyone looking for a place in this budget with a nice friendly, easy going vibe.
Cons: Nothing really, just a suggestion to change the plastic bottle bath gel/shampoo for soap bars
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The welcoming heart and care from the attendants made me feel like I own the place
Cons: The food is so good, the attendants are really friendly and nice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kimte has a fantastic laid-back vibe with young, very attentive and sociable staff who all speak excellent English. Morning breakfasts overlooking the ocean is a wonderful experience. There is a bonfire on the beach in the evenings, a fantastic beach & water during the day. As it's on the edge of town, it is not super touristy and you have the opportunity to interact with locals. Rooms are neat and clean. Would definitely recommend this to everyone!
Cons: Everything was fantastic
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice private place on the beach Quiet nice beach (fewer dealers on the beach)
Cons: frequent blackout poor wifi signal (but this is everywhere) small room (but if the weather is nice you are still out ;)) poor reading light before bedtime
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff. Lodge is located on a less crowded part of the beach, which we appreciated.
Cons: Meals are bit expensive, but I guess it is likely the same everywhere in Zanzibar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: So kind staff, so good food, so fantastic view over the sea. It is in a very local small town, very quiet and not much to do but relax.
Cons: The constant wind from the sea.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice place with great restaurant and vibe!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this place, especially as we traveled with 16 month old son. He was playing with the owner kids and local neighbors kids all the time, so we could relax. Place is amazing as you are staying actually on the beach for reasonable value of money. Owners and stuff is very kind and very welcoming. They help and advise if you need anything.
Cons: Food is a bit expensive, but it is very good with amazing view.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kimte is a very peaceful place to stay. The hotel's restaurant is really good and I will never forget the breakfast in front of the beach! I recommend this place for sure
