Horrific
There were no facilities in the room is the answer to THAT question. The room was nice? Clean etc but considering travelling with 2 small children it was far from the lifts and amenities.
The fact that they close down half of the hotel and ALLLLL OF THE activities for the children
Excellent
The pools were massive the food was excellent.
Parking was expensive
Good
WiFi, swimming pools, covid safe, great location and good views
the mattress is not very comfortable and the food for breakfast and dinner is not very varied for those who stay for a week.
Overly priced, the food was...
Large pool and comfortable room.
The food was terrible and very expensive.
Passable
The best thing is its location
The staff is polite but not friendly. We had 4 rooms and all the bathrooms could do with a facelift. The food was very basic with very poor selection, certainly not 4 stars fare. The lifts were very small and took ages. The kids pool area with the slides was closed, as was the kids play area. All in all too expensive for what you get. Will not be coming again.
Great beach front location. Spacious room, even though we were in an economy room. Excellent breakfast with wide variety of food.
Very slow check in.
Fantastic value for our short...

Great location
The staff very friendly, helping me to surprise my boyfriend for his b-day with a cake and a bottle of champagne. Hotel was very clean, fast check in . I will recommand this hotel for my friends.
the food was not so good . 7/10
Manager of the hotel is professional in solving any issues with our booking.
Some receptionist don't show any professionalism. They should hire employees that know how to speak english. Its difficult if you don't speak spanish.
The resort is beautifully set up for summer with the most spectacular lagoon pools... but unfortunately, even though I'd checked the websites and couldn't see anything suggesting that the pools would be closed, they were. The indoor pool was open but it was quite small and not really for relxing in (no shallow area for young kids). The worst part was that the playground was a) fenced off, and b) closed for almost the whole day! They had people working at heights on the building next to it, so they closed the whole area except from about 4-6pm. So, we were left with almost nothing AT the resort to do. The one saving grace was that they had a good music/dancing show on Friday night which meant we didn't get the kids to bed until about 11pm (eek!) but it was probably the most memorable night of the holidays for them.
I guess we had bad luck with the playground and the pools (though I had sent them a msg via booking.com to confirm re: the pools before booking, but they never responded to my message so I took a punt since I couldn't see anything saying that they would be closed for our dates). Maybe I stuffed it up... but worth checking with them directly and making sure you get a response!

Hotel was well equipped and the room was spacious.
Unfortunately the pool was closed which we were not aware of when we made the booking.
Clean hotel, helpful staff. Good food breakfast and dinner.
Big group came day 2 must have been 300 people. Took over lobby and bar day and night. Very loud talking in our hallway and in dining room. Long line ups at coffee machine. Had to leave balcony door open as warm temps and no air conditioning.
The staff were amazing as I was initially put in a room which was next door to several loud children. When I explained that I was there by myself for a nice quiet holiday they immediately moved me to a perfect more private room, which I really appreciated.
I was ill towards the end of my holiday and it was definitely food related. Not sure if any other visitors had an issue, but not a nice way to end my stay. Sometimes with buffet meals you do have to worry about food being fresh as sometimes it sits for longer than it should.
The bar staff were very friendly. The room was ok however a little dated although clean. Fresh towels every day. The weather was not good enough to use the pools although they looked fine. Gate from the hotel onto the sea front was well used.
The evening entertainment was geared at the older generation - we are not quite there yet. Ballroom dancing every night is not for all. The breakfast menu tried to cater for all and didn't quite work. As we were in Spain I would expect a Spanish breakfast. Far too much choice which diluted the quality.
Location next to beach and sumptuous breakfast was excellent.
Small tub and hard to shower.
Proximity to beach.
Had to ask for rubbish left in bin by previous guest to be removed. Had to ask again two hours later as nothing happened. Significant charge for parking when most spaces were empty. Bar, pool room etc close early.
The breakfast was wonderful and the view from the room
A little big for our liking
Beach is so near
Food in sol principe
Beautiful hotel with fabulous facilities. Only had a brief stay but would love to go back one day. Breakfast was very nice and plentiful
The room was clean and comfortable, the check in was easy, and the restaurant served a nice variety of foods.
Nada!
Good wifi, nice swimming pool grounds, helpful staff
Location
Nothing
Room was very clean and comfortable. Shower pressure good and plenty of hot water. Loved the big bathtub. Breakfast was good and plenty of choices . We visited in January so it was quiet with no queues. We would stay here again
We wasnt told that we could hire a kettle for tea/coffee in the room. We saw a notice in the lift but it was too late and the room only had 1 plug point
Everything!!!! This is our 3rd stay and are booked for January 2020

Superb
Location
Bed was to hard for me
The pools and location to beach were great. Pools are not heated, so a bit on the freezing side.
While was great, not sure if it was the time.of year, end of October, the hotel was like walking onto a Cruise Ship of Retirees. Average age was 60+ Not what we were expecting when we arrived.
The garden was lovely. Good breakfast, clean.
Very noisy at the breakfast buffet! The beds could be softer.
Loved it here.the pools were amazing.food georgous, bedrooms clean and comfortable, right on the beach with local food available at all the chirunguritos, evening entertainment for families, staff so friendly.(Irene at the pool bar was very helpful)happy hour every evening.
Busy at mealtimes.mught be worth having allocated mealtimes.
The amenities at the hotel were really good. The pools were great (although not heated) and there was enough sunbeds for this time of year. The location is perfect - right on the beach and boardwalk; about a 20 minute drive to downtown Malaga, and an hour - two hours away to some really great sights (Cordoba, Granada, Ronda, etc.). You are near lots of bars and restaurants, but not too close that it's noisy. The nighttime entertainment was also good (for a hotel out of season).
The food :-( The same options each day, and very flavorless. The bread in the morning was hard (probably left from the night before). The one good thing about the buffet was the omelette bar and sekt/ prosecco. Beer was almost 4.50 Euro (coming from Germany that is pretty expensive). We just walked to the supermarket right outside the hotel and bought beer for 1 Euro. The beds are old and uncomfortable, and the hotel could use some updating with their decor. Kids playground could use some updating and more stuff.
Location close to the beach
Nothing
Facilities and convenience
Didn’t like presence of photographers at meal times
Bath very slippey
Great location .near the beach. Staff vere very friendly
Rooms are amazing Pool area is beautiful Entertainment is excellent
Sol Principe is a beautiful place to stay ... pools entertainment and staff are amazingly good,. However, the evening food in Sol Principe wasn't good ... evening time is crazy busy and choice was very poor. We paid over €80 for 2 adults. 1 child 4 drinks (2 cokes, 1 wine, 1 beer ... and buffet dinner), which was awful quality ... Breakfast buffet was good .... typical of Sol hotels. Will definitely recommend this place, but maybe eating out is a good option.
Outside bars were nice and inside lovely and cool, lots of good entertainment, but also lots of consideration for folk with youngsters, pools were great, with kids pools also
Had booked a twin room and was given a double. Having to quieting at hot plates, maybe have 2 sittings.
the location is very good, located near the sea, nice pool, large area.
I did not like the service, we arrived later check in but until then the room was not ready. the breakfast is monotonous, we were 2 weeks and had the same breakfast all the time. there are few sunbeds near the pool; people occupy seats in the morning.
Excellent facilities, with everything you need under one roof. Great for family holidays.
Loud music until 11:00 every night.
Clean and good food
People reserving sun beds. Should not be allowed
location loveky pools
no kettle for tea
The bread wasn't fresh a lot of the time and we had to wait a while for staff to bring us some more and even then it wasn't crispy.
Facilities for kids
Food
Great location, our over looked the swimming pools and kids loved that. Fact that you could no longer use floats in the pool was tough to swallow, so we sent most of the time at the beach. The service, food ,facilities and entertainment was really nice. Really enjoyed our stay at Sol Principe.
Sometimes the food was a bit hit and miss with taste. Plates and glasses could have been cleaner. A little bit busy and can be quite noisy at night when there’s a show on.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and polite.A special mention for the bar staff who were very good and never had to wait very long for drinks.
At certain times, mainly lunchtime, the food selection in the restaurant was very average. The food choices were quite poor.Decided to eat out many lunchtimes.
Breakfast was lovely good spread of food each morning. Pool was good, loved the location and how close we were to everything
Beds are not particularly comfy woke up with back ache every morning. They want u to pay for the safe in room that should be included in the price. U don’t get towels for free to use by the pool (even if ur all inclusive u still have to pay for them!)
Location
Very crowded
The location was so good, so near to the beach, to town and to plaza mayor. Pool was huge and clean. Breakfast was so various and delicious.
Inside Parking was expensive. If you’re planning to park outside for free, be sure you have enough time to look for it, especially in summer period.
I liked the room I was in after I upgraded!!
The food was really really bad .. breakfast was poor the hotel advertised a good breakfast that was not the case. The quality of the products so cheap some of the food was inedible. The room I was occupying initially did not have good facilities ie kettle, iron not even a drinking glass for that kind of money nearly £800 for 4 nights this is not good. Management where not negotiable and I have to pay another £250 to upgrade even though I said I did not want the food included ...
Beach front location
Staff not very friendly
The hotel is at a superb location, just on the beach. Breakfast and dinner are excellent (I did not try the lunches). The room was very clean, well-equipped and relatively quiet. The balcony had two chairs and a table and although it have no sea view, sitting there reading was quite pleasant. Staff are nice and polite. The hotel is also a pick-up point for many excursion companies, so if you want to book a trip to e.g. Granada, they will pick you up at the parking entrance and you don't need to walk any further.
The pools shown on the pictures look bigger than they actually are and they are very crowded in the summer months. If big, noisy mammoth hotels are not your cup of tea, don't pick this one.
Liked everything in the hotel was beautiful staff very friendly the pool was class very family friendly. Food was excellent. Would go back there again even thinking going back there for my honeymoon x
There was nothing I didn’t like
The pool area etc was excellent, the room how ever was extremely basic givin the price. The bed was also very uncomfortable FYI
just the room,
1. Only one power port in the entire room!! 2. Paid over 240 euro for a room for 3 people and turned out a room for 2 people with a squeezed bed in between making like 3 people spooning... 2. No towels at the pool 3. Pool closes so early!!! 19:00!! 4. No beach access!!! (When they say they do) 5. Cold food... 6. Poor overall service 7. Fotos on booking.com are deceitful!
Staff were helpful and friendly. The evening entertainment was of a good standard and was indeed entertaining. The breakfast selection was broad and varied.
We booked for 3 people and were told we would have a room with an extra bed. We didn't realise that that would mean that the original pieces of furniture in what was a small double room would be moved out of position so as to make them at best awkward to use and at worse unusable. We felt that we were crammed into a space that was not suited to three people. If we had realised that this was the case we would have booked an alternative hotel.
Everything, staff , facilities were great
Price of the drinks
Facilities were good and location is great
There are huge queues for everything and the sun lounger rat race is very annoying
Fabulous choices for Breakfast, had the best swimming pool and fab location. It was soo convenient to all amenities and plenty of entertainment in the Hotel for all ages.
The size of the lifts were too small. My husband is disabled and has to use a mobility scooter to get around. We had a job to get him into the lifts and there was no room for me or anything else. Luckily we were on the 1st floor so I didn't have far to race up and down to help him in and out of the lifts. Could have done with more power points in the rooms. There was only 1.Exellent
Swimmingpool is really beautiful, all the hotel its very good for families with the kids. Rooms are clean ans stuff really helpful, food was also good.
Just lunch or dinner time at restaurant its Crazy busy and noisy.
Food was really tasteless, very poor selection of fresh vegetables for breakfast. The reception calculated a wrong price at the check-in and 2 days later we were locked out of our room becuse of not paying the price difference immediately. This was very surprising, especially that our stay was covered by credit card and the room fee was pre-paid. Of cource we paid the small difference but still a bad experience and poor customer service.
Best hotel in torremolinos
The service
Nothing
Close to the sea
The hotel was very dirty - literally poop in the swimming pool The rooms are dated and need renovation My son and I got gastro for 2 days For the price we paid it was a scam Avoid if you can Does not deserve 4 stars
Great size pools to choose from.
The hotel is really for spanish guests only. Other nationalities are welcome of course but all events are catered for the mainland Spanish guests. Pool area and sun loungers are never washed down. Leaves the pool area looking very unhygienic.
Staff efficiency, location
Food was a little bit repetitive. Dessert section needs improvement
The variety, quantity & quality of the food at the main restaurant.
You have to wake up very early ( before 7am ) and make your way to the swimming pool area to be able to reserve your space with your towels so that at 9am when the padlocks and chains are removed from the sun beds you can get a good space for the day.

Nice place to stay close to airport and fun parks and sea
Asked for a microwave to be put in room when I booked 3 weeks before I came booked 6 July to 13 July get email on 7 July to say no to microwave. Fell like you want till you get paid to say no . Not happy ☹️
I loved the location, 2 minutes walk to the beach. And 10 minutes walk to the city centre. Food was excellent, a huge variety of food! Swimming pools were also excellent for kids. Overall it was a great hotel.
Our mattresses weren’t comfortable at all. Also it was full of children and it was very very loud, as a first time parent I won’t recommend this hotel. But if you don’t mind the noise it’s a perfect place to stay at.
GOOD AND VARIOUS FOOD. GREAT LOKATION. PERFECT FOR FAMILIES. LOTS OF THINGS TO DO AT THE HOTEL. BIG SWIMMINGPOOL
We heard the bell form the lift as the room vas neas the lift.
If you can cope with the volume of people and chaos it’s good for the kids, big pools & lots of little rides. Kids disco comes on quite late too 9pm & show 10pm not ideal for the younger ones.
Our room had a bad smell, not sure if it was a smoking room? Should of told us if so as we had two small children. Had to que by the pool for an hour before it opened to get a sun lounger as the day before no chance at all mid-day. So went to the beach. There was blood all over the ladies toilets in reception so the hotel may need to clean more often. Extremely expensive for what it is, probably over a 1000/1500 guests so always ques at reception. Men can’t wear vests into breakfast but women can?? The hotel isn’t in upper class Marbella so I’m not sure on this stupid rule.
place was well maintained staff great dress code stupid
Lication
Food not good at all, no sense of respect of other cultures and food choices.
Nice hotel, nice location
The full board package wasn't include any of soft drinks or even normal water with the meals.
Good range of swimming pools
Service in the dining hall was poor on occasion, food was of reasonable quality however this often ran out , long quest for food from time to time and the cost of a bottle of water 500 ml at 2.60e was excessive
Good selection food and drinks would have liked another choice if beer. Everything was very goid
Extra bed in room mate it very small after all we paid equally so expected proper size room
Nice pool and beach is really at walking distance.
Room was not at floor indicated, but one floor above, as there were some stairs to make to reach this floor with no elevator connection. Moreover, there was a lot of noise around, from the cleaning staff, as the room was basically next to the staff room.
The dinner
Not enough sun beds
the location is not too bad although it is very far away from quite a bit of restaurants. we used to stay in this hotel quite frequently with our children and the food in the mornings was much better then than now. we absolutely love the pool and when you go in June you do not have to get up at the crack of dawn in order to get a sun bed. you could not fault the cleanliness in the bedrooms. back in the day, we would pay every penny for this hotel as it is an expensive hotel. now we would have to reconsider
they do not clean the pool to the same standards that they did only 3 years ago.. we had two rooms and there was a lot of maintenance issues with them. the biggest problem we had was they had arcade equipment in the area as you are going to and from the pool so with young children that is an absolute nightmare because, either you have constant arguments with your children telling them they cannot use the equipment or you are broke. there is no way to avoid this area. you are not allowed to play with anything in the water so with young children that is not really great.
We picked the property as it had on site parking and it was close to Malaga airport where we had to return the hire car. It was easy to get to both hotel and airport which alleviates some stress driving in unfamiliar surroundings. The hotel is across the road from the beach where you can hire sun lounges for the day. Plenty of restaurants close by to walk to if you prefer not to eat at the hotel with the hoard of other guests. This is a large hotel and there were lots of tourists so if you prefer a quiet stay I wouldn’t suggest Sol Principe. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. This property would be perfect for families who don’t want to venture far from the room, pool, restaurants, bar and kids activities.
It was very busy when we were there. It was hard to find a spot by one of the lovely pools if you were a late arrival.
Close proximity to the beach with a nice pool. Staff were nice and hard working.
Could never get a place by the pool if you weren’t there by 8am and the hotel wasn’t even full. Food was dreadful. You had to pay to use the safe!
Plenty of space and good for kids outside and in
The restaurant had dirty cutlery and staff were not overally helpful in reception. I think there needs to be a rule about a towels on beds, it’s not fair to leave them all day, go out and come back late afternoon - plenty of people did this.
Hotel was lovely...fantastic pool and facilities. Most Staff were very helpful and friendly. Kids club and activities were great. Room floor could have been cleaner...alot of dust and dirt!! But clean towels every day which was great when you're with kids! And fresh sheets during the week also
floor in room to be swept and mopped daily would have been great! Our feet were black....we had to wear shoes all the time
Beach front location
NO TEA AND COFFEE
The pool area and lobby were nice. Good location right on the promenade of Torremolinos. Good buffet. 10 minutes from airport and 15 minutes from downtown Malaga.
Very crowded, so breakfast buffet was somewhat difficult to get a seat and pool had no available lounge chairs.
the pools, and the beach opposite the hotel
The room, air con not working bed was not a double bed, and very uncomfortable, bathroom was a bit tatty, don't know if as it was only for the 1 night, they gave us this room, which for the price I paid it wasn't certainly great, haven't seen other rooms so cannot really comment much, but certainly not returning
Every single member of staff was so friendly, helpful and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Perfect location and great facilities.
Perhaps have two serving stations on the buffet for meats in the evening and eggs/omelettes in the morning as the queues were too long at the busy times. It would have been better to split it. We just chose to go early to avoid the worst of it. Reception should also inform on check-in what was included with the suites. We didn’t find out until the last day that the mini bar was included as was the car parking. A nice surprise but wasted on us at that stage.
This is a first class hotel and we were very much looked after. And it’s all the extras that I just didn’t expect. For example I had a late flight so was Staying at the hotel until around about 5 o’clock which is five hours after the checkout time of 12 o’clock. The hotel provided a free room to enable myself and my family to have showers and to freshen up before leaving for the airport. That meant we could make full use of the hotel throughout the whole day and it meant that we really felt that we did have a very fully holiday. We won’t simply sat around waiting with our cases by our legs!
It would’ve been nice if the location had been a little nearer to the centre of Torremolinos because it was about a 20 minute walk. Absolutely not a deal breaker though I would be very very happy to go back to this hotel again!
I like the pool and the extra longer at the pool need some more longers and breakfast was good
Nut ting all good
Location
Too small beds, refurbishment needed
Breakfast included the champagne, fruits, freshly made omelet, and pancakes, etc. A swimming pool is significant, and the indoor swimming pool was the pleasure because the weather and the temperature of water in the outside pool were too cold for swimming. Great nice hotel which has a lot to offer to enjoy your time there!
The pool areas are nice.
Please consider is a very big hotel so the restaurant is always crowded and noisy. Breakfast can be improved. I guess good for family with kids but not so relaxing for young couples.
We liked the pool area, mini disco's every night, and that it was a paradise for our son. Cars, kids playroom and everything for little children. That was the main reason of booking this hotel. Suggest for families. Straight exit to promenade and beach. Hotel wasn't overcrowded in the beginning of May, do not know how would it be when there is a season, because hotel is massive.
The dining was boring comparing to other hotels, which offers the same service. Although, the food was different every day, the taste was the same. Wanted more choices of ice cream and diversity. The closet wasn't clean, there were dust. Elevators were too small for the whole family with stroller. Didn't find out how A/C works, if it worked. Overall, great hotel with little stuff, that didn't ruin our holiday, but could have been better if these things wouldn't been there.
Room ok, Pool nice and large
Fod area packed and heavily undersfaffed, food quality sometimes doubtful
Sun and nice walks along beach the back pool was lovely and quiet to relax
Noise in the restaurant was like been back at school
Breakfast was good
The dinner was poor, mostly seafood
Hotel is well connected to the airport, you can take either uber or train, a good connection to Malaga-it takes only 20 min by train. If you want a quiet holiday Sol Principe is a perfect place.
Quality of the rooms can be improved giving the fact that it is a 4-star hotel
I like that hotel situated 1 min from the beach, fresh pineapples and watermelon on breakfast and dinner, grass area near the pool, plenty of space near the pool so you do not have to fight for the space. In general recommend hotel. Good value for money especially comparing with other hotels in neighbourhood.
I hate bed and especially pillow, it was very very very very uncomfortable. No robes in the rooms, but on hotel pictures it was shown, staff said that you have to have higher class room or something like that.
Nothing after my holiday was ruined by theft from my room.
My Seiko watch was stolen from my room, on the 7th floor. It had to be taken by a member of staff, as no one else had access. So I would not recommend the Sol Princepe to anyone planning on a vacation there. Worst experience of my life. And no support from management. If you are unfortunate enough, to have all ready booked this hotel, make sure you leave your jewellery and valuables at home. What was meant to be a very special vacation for us (engagement) was totally ruined and tarnished by this one incident So if you value your valuables take my advice and steer well clear of this place.......
