When you stay at La Ventera in Gualchos, you'll be 15 minutes by car from Calahonda Beach. Featured amenities include microwave in a common area and refrigerator in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Unfortunately, the restaurant at the property was closed for the winter. Also one of the bars in the village was closed. But the welcome and service we had was excellent! The view from the terrace was stunning! I would definitely recommend a stay here.
Pros: A very nice and cozy rural hotel. Very comfortable and clean. The hostess Estephanie is a very kind person and does her best for the guest comfort. Great breakfast.
Cons: The room lacks fridge. I would have made of it if I had one. :)
Pros: The dinners we had in the restaurant, very various and good.
Pros: We stayed two nights and had dinner there. Excellent! Nice location on the hills overlooking the sea ( even if the view is spoilt by horrible greenhouses), very quiet but close to a few beautiful coves.
Pros: Very cosy and beautiful house with perfect decors and nice chill music, located in a small village in the mountains not far from the sea. Incredible view of the seaside from the restaurant terrace where breakfast takes place. Only 20 minutes by car to different beaches. Mauricio (owner) is very kind and hospitality person and you will feel like you staying at your old friend's home. Highly recommend to try dinner on that place, I bet you'll remember it for a long time (4-5 sets of dishes with homemade desserts and all consist of local products, with a very nice serving of dishes) Don't waste your time to trying to find some restaurant around, La Ventura is the best (and you'll be so surprised of reasonable price of dinner)
Cons: nothing to add there everything was perfect! Just be sure you're understanding type of this rest, there is no disco, bars or something like this around.
Pros: We had a very friendly and warm welcome from the host. The place is located in a small white village, far from the city noise and perfect to spent a late afternoon wandering around the small streets. The rooms are big, clean, comfortable and cosy with a special decor and rustic details. There are 2 big living rooms and awesome terrace where you can enjoy the dinner or breakfast. The host asked us if we would like to have dinner at the accommodation and that was just an awesome experience. Briefly, a wonderful place to rest from the city vibes and enjoy the nature, food, music and a special evening.
Pros: A hotel with a homely atmosphere, a friendly host with a personal attitude, a conversationalist. The host devoted his time and helped plan a trip. The hotel has an open shared kitchen and refrigerator. The hotel is located in a high location and the view from the room and restaurant is amazing. We were definitely staying there again
Pros: Great facilities, use of kitchen area, an honesty system so you can haves beef or a glass of wine, coffee machine do you can get e coffee. WiFi good and great views
Cons: As restaurant closed you are limited for food hence we bought food in town and used facilities
Pros: Amazing apartment in a magical village. Very calm place - mainly the terrace, the host is super kind and helpful.
Pros: Atmosphere was perfect. Nice quiet place with great views. Very friendly personal and delicious dinners.
Cons: Nothing here.

Pros: Central and very clean
Cons: A lot of banging doors early in the morning
Pros: Friendly welcome (in Spanish only as expected) and excellent value place to stay. Good, spacious, clean bathroom. Close to restaurants and good tostadas at Bio Muller for breakfast.
Cons: Nothing. It was exactly as expected if not better!
Pros: Location is very good! Around the corner there is kids playground, shops, bars!
Cons: No balcony.
Pros: Parking space with the hostel.
Pros: Lovely room, friendly staff, secure parking, lively town with good restaurants. A lot of fun.
Pros: There was no food available at this hotel but we found a very good cafe just on the corner of the street . The parking on site was a good bonus with the location being right in the city centre.
Pros: Nice people. Well located and clean!
Pros: This hotel is a must for anyone who want to visit Motril. Friendly staff members and friendly town. The best place to stay in MOTRIL. This hotel is a 5 stars!!!

Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Pros: Exceptionally clean and well looked after
Pros: brekky comprehensive, the staff really good
Cons: the beach so so
Pros: Room was clean, good shower. Air con could have been a bit better (room5108). Food was good, good choices. Garden area excellent, right on the beach, plenty of sun beds
Cons: Gym equipment a bit old, no air con on in gym. Drinking beer in paper cups wasn’t nice, more glasses needed. Entertainment was ok, but a bit bland
Pros: The bedroom comfort &'facilities. Good Quality Food.
Cons: Drinking out of paper cups.
Cons: I knew I was booking into a big resort but the music was so loud even even when I went and sat by the sea I could still hear it. The rooms are incredibly basic for the value of money.
Pros: Very clean, modern and pleasant Great facilities!
Pros: Staff were extremely friendly and the Hotel has a relaxed atmosphere. We would stay again. The price reflex the standard which is clean safe and good valve.
Cons: The reception area would be much more interesting/appealing if it had a large feature of interest, such as it is this huge beautiful space is wasted. The main bar needs some sort of canopy above it to lower the ceiling height to create a little atmosphere, it looks unfinished the way it is. The food is acceptable but with a little more imagination and creativity it would enhance everyone’s stay. There should be NO charge for Carparking.
Cons: Small car park and they charge extra for it. Main restaurant only open Thursday to Sunday. Buffet average. No one told us it was a all inclusive hotel. Staff at reception were surly.
Pros: The public areas are well kept and attractive. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and well appointed, comfy bed, plenty of choices of food, sunbeds by the pool, sea view. Great for couples, friends and family groups
Cons: Nothing. Some people might not like the pebbly and rocky beach but we enjoyed walking along it.

Pros: Spaciousness of the room , location ( on the beach) , sea view and excellent restaurant ( good continental breakfast choice )and service. Beautiful quiet resort , easy to park , not too busy as just before season....great value for money.
Cons: dinner and tapas not served earlier than 8.30 pm....
Pros: Beautiful location fabulous views well worth paying the extra for a see view
Cons: A bit of a quiet location
Pros: Breakfast was fantastic, delicious and fresh. So many choices.
Pros: This was such a relaxing location, the view from the balcony was fantastic, the food was fantastic, and the staff were very friendly. We will definitely return.
Pros: Superb, quiet location, perfect after hectic pace elsewhere.
Pros: brilliant location ...on the beach!
Pros: The hotel restaurant (whose food was top notch) leads right out to the beach. The beach has crystal clear water and is a small cove. It was very quaint and relaxing.
Cons: Nothing. It was lovely.
Pros: What a lovely hotel, rooms with great sea view, friendly staff, superbe resraurant cooking fresh fish and in the top there is this bar, thank you Miguel, you‘re the man!
Pros: One of the best hotels in the South of Spain. Nice rooms with view over the sea. Good restaurant, nice working people and the best breakfast ever
Cons: It's only the beach and the hotel. Nothing else in Calahonda (1 small supermarket)
Located in Motril, Rusticae Casa de los Bates is on the waterfront, within a 15-minute drive of Las Americas Park and Ron Montero Winery. Featured amenities include a business center, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The staff were extremely helpful, inspite of Booking.com not informing them we were coming. The setting was too stunning for words. Even though we have a villa in the area I would love to stay again.
Cons: It was a little difficult to find the entrance.
Pros: Everthing. .
Cons: Nothing. .
Pros: The room we had booked was sub basement (felt damp and was cold with a bit of a musty smell) so we upgraded to the Junior Suite which near doubled the rate. The Junior Suite was lovely, but then it should be for double original booked rate. Views lovely from the Junior Suite - very comfortable, although bed rock hard.
Cons: Lack of consistency with staff. There appeared to be no management just a morning housekeeper/breakfast attendant. Arrival and first morning attendant rather brisk, rude and disinterested and her lack of interest on our arrival and again set up of breakfast on first morning was abmissmal - however a different afternoon attendant soon arrived and did offer us lunch and wine (expensive and basic) but it was with good cheer, warmth and friendliness (and good English and helpfulness). The third attendant we met on 2nd morning made an effort in setting out breakfast at least and offered more variety than VERY basic breakfast of first morning. Didn’t like the notice in each room that there was cameras on us (not our bedroom - obviously have had an issue with theft), but although the decor was interesting, nothing appeared of real value, decor pretty dated and tired. Also they lock the drawing room in the evening so you can’t have a drink after dinner in there anyway. Just felt as a guest we were ‘inconvenient’ to some of the staff. Expensive considering we ended up with a £270 bill for two nights - double what we originally booked. Lastly we would have eaten dinner there on the second night, but the breakfast on the first morning was so poor, it gave us no confidence to eat dinner there.
Pros: It is a family run hotel and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We were able to enjoy a very relaxing, quiet two days in this delightful house. We had supper on the terrace our first evening, a pleasant place to sit. The gardens are lovely and I imagine more so in spring and autumn. Philippe, the chef, was marvellous and made a huge effort to provide a menu to suit all members of our party.
Cons: The weather - but that’s not the hotel’s fault! First rain since April and it chose our two days! Didn’t spoil anything for us as we weren’t planning anything other than two quiet days.
Pros: Garden has a Riviera touch - beautiful terraces of trees and forna - pleasant hosts
Cons: The hotel was a disappointment - decor tired and food lacking in refinement despite its past positive appraisals - bathroom in Bougainvillia needs attention / updating - shower head, taps etc.
Pros: Unique historic property full of history and antiques
Cons: We arrived in the dark and it was very hard to find
Pros: Perfect place with the most warm welcome. Great house, very nice room, so quiet at night. The breakfast is just great. Would highly recomment for travellers with the car who would like to have perfect rest after day trip over the cost.
Pros: The very nice atmosphere and quiet location
Pros: Exclusive, sunny, elegant and historical.
Pros: Lovely setting, WiFi. friendly staff, breakfast was very nice!
Cons: Non functioning fridge, heat thermostat was off, flies in the bathroom.

Pros: Very comfortable bedd nice soft pillows.nice size room with balcony..goid size bathroom.
Cons: Reception staff very friendly, restaurant staff not so friendly.Quality of food poor, bacon was just a heap of fat, poir quality cold meats at breakfast..Our room was extremely dusty!! would like to see more Englizh channels on TV.qujte a few German channels but not English after all English is the international language..
Pros: Everything, I would definitely stay in one of their hotels again
Cons: Not a single thing ❤️
Pros: The staff were very helpful and friendly. The proximity of the hotel to the beach was a plus and the food options were very good for adults as well as children!
Cons: The rooms were disappointing, very basic, with minimal facilities and not as per the professional pictures on their website.
Pros: The room with sea view, big room and nice balcony. The Breakfasts
Cons: Not able to check in before 15.00
Pros: ok bur hot buffet was not hot the majority of thew time, breakfast and dinner
Cons: the food could have been hotter
Pros: Good Location it’s not on the seafront. I had a sea view room , you look at the road , parking allotments then bike track to look at the beach . Good access to get to the beach . Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Do you need to show everyone’s identity staying at the hotel ? Is that a law ? . I didn’t have my passport n showed my UK driving license but it was not accepted. Thank God , I had my Spanish Residence card . I am a mum with 3 young adults . The hotel couldn’t find our second booking. Said only one room is booked . I said both the rooms are on my name. I started doubting myself thinking I might have made a mistake. I told the guy to go on the booking .com booking .... I did find my booking while he was searching on the hotel system. Our room was not next to each other - I know to request next time . Eventually it was sorted but the customer service needs attention- it’s a 4 star hotel and we paid a lot to stay there for 2nights.
Pros: The Staff! Excellent English speaking reception, which even upgraded our room. This was necessary due to the circumstances, but they were super nice and super helpful. Very professional. Also the kitchen staff, animators and guys at the bar were extremely nice and professional - special props to Jesus! :)
Cons: Bathroom could be cleaner, we had to clean it ourselves thoroughly upon arrival

Pros: Owner was friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable.
Cons: Noise in the early morning from traffic to the port and people starting work nearby. The main town of Motril is a little distance away.
Pros: It was clean a good price and the staff are very helpful
Cons: The only form of heating was the air-conditioning on heat mode and that did not provide sufficient heating for the size of the room and there is no heating in the bathroom
Pros: Pleasant gentleman on reception. Room clean and comfortable. On street parking
Cons: Nothing to dislike
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful, both in reception and in the cafe and restaurant. The food was good and was available over extended periods, both at breakfast and in the evenings.
Pros: Good value

Pros: The location to the beach

Cons: Sometimes it was a little too noisey.
Pros: Ideal as a quick stop over, easy access to Autovia etc.
Cons: Could do with double glazing to reduce traffic noise and the noise level from other residence can be distruping.

Cons: As we said it was everything they we Required and we could not fault Anything
Pros: The food was fresh and the variety of choices was excellent. The service in the hotel and restaurant was exceptional.

Pros: The location, the breakfast and the friendly receptionists.
Cons: A dead cockroach on the floor in our room when we arrived
Pros: Very good value for money. Nice location, aircondition and wifi worked perfectly. Recommended!
Pros: The hotel was convenient and had a simple breakfast included. The staff was very friendly and they had a place we could park our motorcycles that was locked up and we felt they would be fairly secure.
Cons: Beds were a little hard and the pillow wasn't very supportive. The A/C didn't seem to work very well in our room. Not a lot to do around the property.

Pros: Friendly owner, cheap breakfast, close to beach.
Pros: Nice hosts :)
Cons: SMALL bed, very small!
Pros: Antonio and staff made me feel very welcome. There were some great restaurants very near, excellent walkway by the beach, and bus stops close by for buses to Motril and Salobreña (very necessary as I did not have a car). The tostada and café solos were super too.
Cons: There was no hairdryer in my room
With a stay at OYO Hotel El Ancla in Motril, you'll be steps from Calahonda Beach and a 4-minute drive from Carchuna Beach. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage.
Pros: Lovely view in the morning from the room. Clean towels. The town and beach is really nice. very close location to the sea. The gentleman on reception was pleasant and went out of his way to accommodate me.
Cons: The bed was a little lop-sided and the room was small and basic. I had booked a double and then was initially offered a twin. Was told it was all they had. Luckily someone cancelled and I got a double after all. I ate in the food-bar opposite (which may be owned by the same hotel) and was completely ripped off 27 Euros for a plate of chips and some calamari rings that were greasy and inedible. They deliberately supersized me I think, when it was clear I was just one person. When I queried (in Spanish- I speak it well enough) they told me that was a single portion, but on the menu were the 2 prices (guess which one I got). Avoid that café-bar if you can. It kind of spoiled the experience.
With a stay at ELE La Perla in Motril, you'll be a 3-minute walk from Calahonda Beach and 15 minutes by foot from Carchuna Beach. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Cons: No bar in evening unable to get lunch time snack at pool bar
Pros: The ocean breeze
Pros: The reception staff at the hotel were very friendly and very helpful. The hotel pool was lovely and the view from our room of the ocean was fantastic

Pros: Spacious rooms, great pool, quiet location, very friendly staff.
Cons: Sea unsafe on windy days
Pros: Good Location on Beachfront
Cons: Poor standard of food at restaurant Air Conditioning not efficient/ switched off at night
When you stay at Hotel Muñoz in Motril, you'll be near the beach, within a 5-minute drive of Las Americas Park and Sugar Museum. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Good value
Cons: Staff could have smiled more.
Pros: The room was quiet and dark at night. Efficient air conditioning. Good bar prices and tapas.
Cons: A bidet in the bathroom.
Pros: The size of the room and it cleanliness.
Cons: There were no wi-fi in the room. I need to work so have to move late at night to the reception area.
Pros: Excellent service by staff. Very friendly. Fantastic food.
Pros: Fine for an overnight stay
Cons: The smell of smoking
Pros: The staff in the restaurant and bar were just lovely, one big happy family, we had a few drinks every night there
Cons: It was very old fashioned in the decor, wouldn't cost a lot to update the rooms and modernise it
Pros: We liked the location, across the road from the bus station and not too far from town. Traditional Spanish architecture. The staff were reasonably friendly although very little English was spoken -which added to the experience.
Cons: I didn't expect the toilet brush to be in the bathroom bin! There was no breakfast available on the first morning of our stay [we had to go to the bus station] and no food or bar services available in the evening - a Sunday
Pros: This place was perfect for us. We had a quick stop over in Motril and we really enjoyed the location of hotel Munos. It's very close to the bus station. It was clean and the staff was nice and helpful. We arrived on a holiday and everything was closed. The nice front desk man called to make sure that the only restaurant where we could get vegan food was opened. He saved the day! It wasn't far and we made it there before it closed. In the morning, we were able to have our own food in the restaurant area which was really appreciated. We recommend this place when in Motril.
Cons: It's a little on the expensive side.
Pros: big room very good value for money, i think the score on booking.com is very underrated for the price
Cons: rust in the bathtub, to short bed, open electrical switches in the room, noisy.
With a stay at Hotel Ibérico in Gualchos, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Calahonda Beach and Carchuna Beach. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful. Very basic hotel but good value for the money.
When you stay at OYO Hotel Costa Andaluza in Motril, you'll be near the beach, within a 5-minute drive of Las Americas Park and Sugar Museum. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and an elevator (lift).
Pros: Second time we've stayed here, it is what you pay for but the location and views are amazing and the staff can't help enough, revisiting in 6-8 months........ can't praise them enough.
Pros: Staff were friendly and as helpful as they could be but not many speak English
Cons: Noises carried clearly - we could hear toilets flushing and someone was banging something about through the night
Pros: The proximity to the hospital
Cons: It’s a bit old fashioned and basic
Cons: Too far from bus station. Four kilometres , rather than 100 metres as stated on website
Pros: It’s a small, fairly basic, functional, reasonably priced hotel. Clean and pretty comfortable. I had a single room with a single bed - perfectly fine. Bathroom a bit old fashioned but fine. Aircon effective, but quite noisy. I found a (free) parking place on the next street - one advantage of being a little bit out of the centre. The area immediately around the hotel is residential and feels quite safe at night. All the staff were exceptionally friendly - it helps that I speak Spanish, but even so they were completely charming. Bar/café attached - handy for breakfast: good coffee, nice salad in the evening, same helpful, cheerful attitude. I rather liked it here - maybe not a place for a long stay (much like Motril itself, to be honest) but fine for a night or two passing through. An honest, down-to-earth sort of place - good to know there are some left!
Cons: As already mentioned, the aircon was quite noisy - as was the fridge (so I unplugged it...). Otherwise, all fine. The hotel as a whole is a little old fashioned, perhaps, but I don’t mind that.
Cons: Noisy arabian guests until 3.a.m. Little bit far away from centre.
Pros: The staff was very nice and the restaurant was good. The staff put an refrigerator in my room when I asked for it. Rooms get a lot of light and overall it is fairly clean.
Cons: It was really far from the beach and the transportation in the city is not great. When I went the part of town the hotel is in was deserted. Also, the hotel needs a lot of repairs and sometimes I asked for things to be done, and they weren’t. Like when the shower head would not stay hanging and fell on me. When I told reception, they said it would be fixed the next day and it never got fixed. The room was super small, but it seems like I got the smallest one. All the other ones seemed a lot bigger.
Pros: comfy be, plenty of hot water and toileteries
Cons: I booked by card and chose to pay cash on arrival. I paid the cash but they still took money from my card. I now have to try to get it back. It was very noisy.
Cons: far from city centre difficult to find parking in the neighbourhood reception hall crowded with useless furniture, making bad impression dog smell all around reception - a big dog could be seen lying on the floor would expect a better value for that price, especially given property's location
Pros: Quiet but nice location. Comfortable bed. The AC had a malfunction but was fixed promptly.
Cons: The choice of food in the restaurant could be better.
