Good value in restaurant. Good appearance. Excellent dinner waitress Noise level excessive from disco across road. Bed too hard
Convenient compared to alternatives in the region. Even though we asked for a non smoking room, got a room with a great smell black tobacco - laws for smoking in public spaces should be revised. The room had sofa in terrible condition – old and non clean at all – it should be changed
generally a very pleasant hotel with goood location and comfortable rooms. the town tself which could be wonderful but isn't- there is nothing for a tourist (or one suspects locals).
Big and comfortable rooms in a nice and cosy Asturian village. The staff did not know what exactly to charge us! (we booked only for the acommodation).
Efficient and warm welcome. Immediate action was taken to deal with a small problem, and staff went out of their way to try and help us with a particular need. Central position in the town.
Location near Luarca
Nothing Not enough parking, room smellled terrible, no airconditing, room needs an extreme update, bed was to small etc. Never ever again. Worst experience during our stay in Spain.
We loved the hotel facilities, staff and especially our room (apartment) because we were 4 adults traveling together and this was very comfortable for us. It had a kitchen and a very convinient supermarket in front of the hotel so we could shop and cook upstairs. The hotel is located in the center of the city and very convinient for long walks to dine out and shop.
Really nice hotel, with a good location to the town and local beaches. great value for money with a lovely breakfast. There was building work being carried out so couldn't really use the pool without being overlooked by work men.
An excellent buffet meal
The hotel is not in Navia. It is located in an industrial estate some 3 miles outside town. The hotel caters for weddings and functions and has a disco inside. Regrettably the disco was under our room. We were unable to sleep. To be fair the manager moved us to another room at midnight. Luckily another room was available.
Excelent hotel, very obliging. We arrived at about 1530 and once we were settled in went down to reception at 1625 to enquire about a table for dinner only to be told not before 2100. Too late for us but the dining room closed for lunch at 1630 and they did us a slap up meal for 6 of us at a very reasonable cost. The Spa also was excellent no
The location of the hotel makes it a good spot for people with their own transport to be based. The hotel is not geared up for English visitors. Its location is neither here nor there - too far from the town or the seaside if you do not have a car.
Facilities were good; interesting touches in hotel. Staff not very friendly; breakfast only just adequate though saved by delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. We found free street parking nearby but were lucky - obviously can be difficult.
Nothing Yes, the staff members were not very friendly, and the breakfast menu very limited.
A charming hotel with character centrally located with easy access to restaurants, bars and the waterfront. There is no car park and you have to find somewhere suitable yourself which can be tricky. We parked a 5 minute walk away which could be a problem if you have lots of luggage and/or visit in the height of the season.
very pleasant and clean obviously - owners are very proud of the hotel. Very nicely decorated with historical photos etc. No orange juice with breakfast as we had booked through booking.com
The hotel was beautifully furnished with artistic touches. Whilst it was an old building, it had all the modern facilities expected such as free wifi and a fridge in room. By English standards, the breakfast was a little basic, but by Spanish standards, I am sure it was more than adequate.
We loved the room we had, the decor of the hotel and the opportunity to use the Terrace (outside), the library/reading room and the living room. We liked its location.
There was nice attention to detail, e'g' lillies at reception and a small water feature as you arrive, friendly receptionist. The room was clean, has windows you can open, classical period decoration and lots of hot water (good shower). Good location nr harbour and centre of town. Breakfast, was not served until 9am, a bit inconvinient as we had early appointments.
There was a relaxed atmosphere Parking could be a problem
Lovely room with view over town to sea. Helpful staff
LOvely room, beatiful gardens Bit out of the way and hard to find
The Villa is an old house that has been very tastefully restored. Our room was large, the beds were very comfortable, everything worked well in the bathroom, the large windows opened on to a pleasant view including another period house opposite. The Villa is set on high ground above and to the east of the lovely small town of Luarca, within a 10 minute walk or a 5 minute drive and park. There is a small swimming pool with sun loungers that we used on one afternoon, plus a spa and a weights room. We had 4 very pleasant nights there. During the day it was easy to get to a number of good beaches not far away, or to visit a city like Gijon. Apart from the price, which seemed a little expensive compared with others that we found on this trip, the only small criticism I would make is of the breakfast. At a hotel charging this rate I would expect a proper buffet breakfast instead of the three different types offered. However, if these aren't to one's taste, Luarca has some very good places where you can buy exactly what you want.
Slightly bizarre but fun
it was relatively quiet the pool was not available, the gymn was locked, the jacuzi was unavailable
The view was spectacular! We loved the natural decor and private balcony. I noted in the Lonely Planet guide that it said the hotel was "ugly". I disagree and thoroughly loved it. All paradors do not have to be historic stone structures! The view far out-weighed the need for utilizing a historic building. I did not like the playground equipment outside the window. It spoiled the natural feel of the mountain view.
The building itself is superb, finished to an extremely high quality. The views from nearly all windows were glorious. The proprietor was polite and friendly. The food was fresh and superbly cooked. What more can you say. Brilliant.
This hotel is absolutely lovely. It's a newly restored country house that is impeccably tasteful and elegant with a little modern edge. Set among lush hills with beautiful ocean views, it's an absolute gem of a place. The rooms are comfortable and beautiful, the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. An added perk: each room comes with a flat screen/dvd player and they offer an amazing selection of moves to borrow. No. It's perfection.
Thomas the owner was so helpful and accomodating. The food and quality of this place/ experience just fantastic. It is hard to find so they need to provide better directions.Highly recommended!! Hard to find and some distance from the coast and any local village
Tomas has created a welcoming atmosphere in a beautiful building with stunning views. He has attended to every detail. The excellent evening meals round the package off perfectly.
when found easy acces for all not easy to find
It's location close to everything we wanted to do. Very noisy, although in the countryside this was spoilt by the proximity of the motorway.
Difficult to find, no facilities, inadequate breakfast. Booked for 2 nights but only stayed for 1 - enoughd said?
the location was pretty good and there was free parking very nearby grotty and old, unfriendly staff
Convenient location near shops, beach, port. Simple, clean rooms with good bath/shower rooms. Bedroom walls a bit thin
Very friendly staff, very good room, good value.
Good situation in centre of town Poor lighting - impossible to read in room comfortably
The central location in the town of Luarca Not a fault of the hotel but the free public parking for Luarca is a long walk from the hotel and the local signage in the town was very unhelpful - it would direct you so far then 'leave you for dead' in the last few hundred meters!
